    Hello!
This is my check in for this week. I am still struggling with food and mindless snacking. I have been in front of a computer for most of this week doing homework. I have increased activity by jumping on the elliptical for sometimes over an hour and still not hitting 10 000 steps sadly. I will keep on keeping on.
    Weight

    Hello Friends,

This year so far has not been what Iā€™d hoped for in regard to weight lossā€¦dew9otrver40.jpeg
Iā€™ve only been half focused on it. But itā€™s time to get logging, eating, and exercising back in sync for my physical and mental well being.

Well, last weekend and this past weekend caught up. Little to no exercise, overdoing calories and carbs, underdoing water, and additional stress. I got up to 179+ at one point. Again. I'm slowly working my way down again.

My challenges and my goals remain the same - more water, more exercise, more veggies, less carbs, less calories, more peace of mind. I keep hoping.

@jm216 - I hear you and I'm there with you. I've been using the Ultimate Accountability Challenge here and, while it hasn't kept me from gaining (because I eat too damned much on a daily), it does have me struggling towards at least 20 minutes of exercise per day and tracking *everything* each day. It's an honor system, of course, but I do track and I do exercise (even if the 20 minutes plus is spread out in two or three 10 minutes walks or something like that).

Hang in there, girlfriend! It's baby steps and sometimes you just need to fall on your butt and reevaluate the situation. Personally, I'm still sitting and reevaluating, apparently.

Sometime you just have to fake it til you make itā€¦ I'm faking it nowā€¦ but Iā€™m starting to get back into rhythmā€¦ progress. I realized that I need to weigh myself daily to keep things in check. Today I took a 20 minute slow walk with my dog. Sheā€™s 9 and slowing down, so itā€™s a good way to ease into things.

My bike is now ready to go, so Iā€™d love to get in a 10 minute ride to hit my goal of 30 minutes today. Are you in? Iā€™ll ride now so my daily exercise goal will be checked off.

I need to get over my really, really bad habit of reading before bed. Or rather, not the reading part, but the ignoring the time part. If I could get to sleep earlier, I could get up earlier and then maybe I could ride for a bit before going to work. I'll only say I'll try. :)

    You go, girl!

Yep... definitely going the wrong way. This week should be better, but only because I have to have a colonoscopy next Monday so I'm on a limited diet this week. (Getting old sucks). I have to go grocery shopping tonight, but I'll be limiting what I buy to what I can eat this week, and then go shopping again next week to get my regular "diet food." Fingers crossed.

I will say that I had my blood work done last week and my A1C was in the normal range. So that was a plus. Of course, if it was checked today, that might not be the case. Way too many carbs over the weekend.

All the usual challenges ahead. :)

Going back in the right direction. It helps that, because I had a colonoscopy this morning, my diet yesterday pretty much consisted of approximately 4 gallons of water, diet dr. pepper, and 7 up (mixed with the prep stuff).

    Food today though. Yay!

Need to work on all the usual suspects, but now I also have to figure out the best way to increase my fiber intake while still staying low carb (since I'm not crazy about cruciferous veggies ... or veggies of any type, to be honest). Did get my A1C numbers back and I'm back in the normal range. YAY again!

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you Jill for starting this group and keeping it so lively. I am morbidly obese, and have a ton of weight to loose. To prevent from being discouraged, by the total amount I need to shed, I am focusing instead on smaller goals and increments. I look forward to celebrating small wins, on my way to the BIG WINS.

    Goal for December 31st, 2021: 275lbs

    08/18/21: 312

Still alive, if just barely. The rental we're in has become pretty uninhabitable, so my husband and I (and little lovebug) are in the housing market. We planned to start looking in January, but a mold issue has gotten way out-of-hand, and the landlord seems unable to find a professional who can actually handle it. Read: it keeps coming back and spreading.

I'm still watching food intake, but exercise has been salvaging linens, shoes, and books šŸ˜

It's not been my favorite month so far.

It's my birthday week and I'm not getting any younger here. :( I have got to get my act together. I log every day. I weigh in every day. I don't exercise as much as I should, tending to only really do things on the weekends. And I eat more than I should. It may be "healthier" choices for much of *what * I'm eating, but I mostly eyeball my food and say, "Yeah, that looks like x amount." So, portions, some less than optimal food choices, and not enough movement/exercise.... those are my challenges.

@jm216, Jill, we've got this. And if we don't hit the 30 by the end of the year, we keep on working on it until we do, right? Right.
