    Crazy busy here.
When I can't sleep, it usually means my anxiety is up about something. If that is something I can take care of, I will usually get up and do it. If not, then I try deep breathing and happy thoughts. If all else fails, I will read, scroll, or play games on tablet.

Sisters- mine is 3 years younger in years. She is tall, dark, elegant, classy, caring, and smart. Her life is the exact opposite of mine. I recently found out she was always jealous of me because I was short, petite, blue eyes, and always smiling. Our life events are about 10 yrs apart. We rarely "talk", but love when we get to spend time together. She and her husband have retired a couple of times. She went back to work as she was bored not because she had to. I know she has my back, even if we don't talk often. Our brother is our other sister. Smart, thoughtful, family oriented. Funny after growing up in our dysfunctional family, they both married into great families. Again his life stage is way different than mine. His grands are all babies and he is retired. Mine are all teens and I still have to work.

Now y'all have made me think of communicating. I am so tired when I get home from work that I really don't communicate as I should.....both my siblings speak with their kids daily. I probably once every week or two. Man.....I really don't talk to anyone.....???? Something to work on. For years it was struggling to make ends meet, working two jobs, taking care of husband and the family properties. Now, I am just tired at night and everyone is busy with their lives, I feel like I am intruding. Wow, deep thoughts for the morning. Communicating obviously isn't one of my strong traits. Something to work on.

    Gotta get ready for work.
Thank you all for being here!
    HUGS to ALL!

I communicate through Facebook. Both my family (including extended family) and my husband's family are on there so we all post periodically and comment on each other's posts. Occasionally we message if we don't want to chat publicly. My parents and I also email about once a week with longer, more detailed posts. Once in a while my parents and I Skype or Zoom or whatever.

My family lives scattered all over the place and we live our own lives. We love each other, but at this point we can't move any closer to each other.

Oh ... and I have one brother. If we talk, it's usually about something intellectual. He's very bright ... like MENSA bright.

So Easter weekend...both my girls asked what we were doing. One lives an hour from Kentucky farm and had thought about going there on Sunday. Other lives near us 2 hours from farm. Husband wants to go to farm this weekend. Gerrard! So I just put out to ALL of them a couple of options. Hopefully our new beds will arrive on Friday. Husband and I head to farm after work Saturday, coming home on Easter before 4 pm for dinner. I offered one or both to meet us at farm to do Easter there. Or one or both to join us for dinner in Ohio on Sunday evening. Easter egg hunts either place for kiddos. I put money and chocolate in their eggs. I can't make everyone happy at once.....have I mentioned that I am not a holiday person....too many expectations. Thanksgiving is really the only one I am good at! I will have to wait and see what they reply. Too early to call so texted. I would love for everyone to be together, but also know everyone is busy with activities. I will keep you posted.

I think part of the problem I have with my younger daughter now and seeing her more often (besides kids activities) is that her husband works with us. He needs a break from family at some point in time, but I miss my time with all of them.

I am on holiday! 11 days off.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with myself.
We'll go cycling, of course ... and I might give some jogging a go, as well as some other exercise.
    Plus I'll sleep.
    And read.
    And then we'll see.
Maybe a little bit of local touristy stuff.
Maybe some things on my List.
    Maybe some photography.

Kylia - I usually stress about holidays too. The pandemic was brilliant for that because no one could do anything so I had no FOMO. Suited me fine. :) This Easter I'm not stressing, because my son has said we will gave a garden meeting at some point. We still can't go indoors. So it's all low key and no expectations. :D

Machka - You know that saying, "If you choose a job you love you never have to work." I have done jobs just for the money, but mostly I was doing something I would have paid to do. :p I'm still working at the job I love, for very little money, and hope to do so until I die. I gave up the bits that were not so much fun at the age of 55, but even those were pretty enjoyable.

Good morning all! Happy Wednesday! Looks like it is going to be another pretty day! The sun is shining brightly and the sky is cloudless and bright blue.
Chairs- I am most comfortable in a wood dining room chair with arms. I always have been. I don't like to recline or lay down to watch tv; if I am that tired, I go to bed. I don't like to have my feet up, unless I am injured; and even then, I don't like to have my feet up. lol I like watching movies sitting straight up. At the movie theaters, I tend to sit straight and not even use the back rest. Same for when I am driving. I sit straight and don't use the back rest. My DH LOVES his recliner, though. To this day, when we sit down together to watch a movie or if I am sick he always asks if I would be more comfortable in the recliner. Nope.
A day or half day- It would probably depend on how I feel. IF I am tired, a half day or day to just sit and veg in front of the tv and possibly take a walk whenever I want would be great. IF I am feeling strong, a hike, some time in a kayak on the lake, and a tandem jump from an airplane would be fun. IF I am feeling happy and adventurous, I always thought it would be fun to wake up, hop in the car and see how far I could drive...

I have gone back to my high protein nutrition plan. It is the only way I am going to get my weight down. I have been AF for three weeks, I have boosted my walking; so now I just need to get the eating under control. Also, no food/bev (except water) after 6pm.

Kids are here. Have to scoot! ttfn xoxox KJ (Kelly)

Yes, fortunately, I like my job and the people I work with. :) I'm not even 55 yet so it wouldn't be good if I didn't like my job! :open_mouth:

I made the comment to someone else today that coming to work can be my respite from other things going on in my life and although I don't relax at work because we're fairly busy, I'm probably the most relaxed when I'm at work.

However I don't like my commute.

The best part of being on holiday is that I don't have to commute to and from work!! And I can sleep in. And I can go for a bicycle ride in the middle of the day. :)

Macka. - I like that recliner you showed. It looks like support and comfort. Enjoy your vacation!

Julie - hips below the knees are not a good thing apparently, she talked about that a lot.

Barbara - I’m very grateful for my friends and family. I wish sometimes I was closer to my brother. We don’t know what goes on in each other’s lives very much since Dad passed and isn’t here to tell us. Part of that is the distance too, we only see each other every few years.

Kylia - I understand what you mean. I talked to my Dad and Grandmother daily until I moved to Alberta, it then got too expensive so it became weekly chats. Then Grammie couldn’t hear me, Dad passed. I don’t “talk” to my girls daily but we usually interact on social media or text almost daily.
I swore I was going to start talking more when my cousin attempted suicide this winter, but I haven’t made good on that promise to myself, mostly because people don’t seem to like random phone calls anymore and I’m too mentally tired in the evenings too.
We still aren’t allowed to gather so no big Easter dinner again this year.

Kelly - endless driving, I love that idea. I used to go for drives to clear my head. I stopped because my husband didn’t see the sense. I should start them again just for me.

Well I woke up at 630 and couldn’t get back to sleep so checked in here. I guess I might as well get up and get ready head to work now.
I don’t like sitting around in the mornings, I’m a “ lets get it done” type I guess.

This is a picture my physiotherapist had me take for back and hip exercises. She told me to not do more that 3 at a time to start and work up gradually.

:) I sit only in the big wood dining room chairs. We have them in several rooms in the house. We have them in several rooms. We have a recliner and a couch but I never sit on them.

:) It was beautiful yesterday and I spent an hour pulling weeds and Jake mowed the small lawn in the back yard.

I always sit with my feet up because my legs are so short. I spend a lot of time fully reclined lounging in bed. But I fidget a lot, so I don't get stuck in one position.

Because I am retired, I have a lot of free time. An ideal day for me would involve good friends and some pain-free outdoor activity. Or maybe a visit from my daughter. I haven't heard from her in over a year now.

Tracey that is wild about your mother lighting the fire. We have a gas stove, and someday that will be dangerous. But it seems okay for now.

So far my arm is just a little sore from the shot. Hope that's it.

    Have a great day, ladies!
