Today I'm at 265, and the good news for me is I was able to get into a size 46 pants that I have not gotten into for years. And I was able to go upstairs in my house without throwing a rope up, hooking it on the banister and pulling myself upstairs...well, it felt like that's what I needed to do anyway.

Since my husband and I enjoy eating out on weekends (it’s been take-out since Covid) and those foods are more difficult to calculate even with MFP, I weigh in on Friday morning. That way I know where my weight is before allowing myself to partake in what might be more caloric foods. It’s worked well for me and kind of feels like rewarding myself a bit for dietary diligence throughout the week.

I am drinking 2 of the new Keto Slim fast shakes, 1 for breakfast and 1 for dinner and having a sensible lunch and a snack if needed. The difference between regular Slim Fast and Keto is the Keto one has no sugar plus it has something called MCT oil which is supposed to help you lose weight. Will this work? IDK. I must say I have had slim fast in the past and am hungry again in an hour. Not today. We will see; it is day 1. Some articles on line say this MCT oil can cause, ahem..."intestinal distress". Ugh. Haven't had that yet either. Obviously I am not staying on this long term but will give it two weeks. I'll weigh in on Sunday and report my findings.

I can relate; we have much in common. I've gone from a tight size 44 to a comfortable 42, with my belly circumference going from 53 inches to 46 inches. And I'm just under 265 pounds today. It's a long journey with a great reward at the end. (although weight maintenance will be another journey!) kwgrandma wrote: » lperkins5 wrote: » pros and cons... the question is, which is the best day to weigh-in and why, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday? I've used Friday weigh-in's as an incentive: if I lose my target weight for the week, I earn a special treat for the weekend. But I can see someone preferring Monday. Monday: a time to reset after the weekend; a new start... Friday: ending the week, and possibly earning a reward.

I love Monday’s for the fresh start but Fridays for having something to work toward all week. I find the weekdays the easiest to stay on track so I’m most likely to see progress at the end of the work week. Haven’t decided yet which day I’ll pick for this group ... leaning toward Friday.

I am back from a vacation ; and my friend @JenT304 says dont weigh yourself for a week. Good advice! As much as I think I ate pretty well ; I did have three key lime pie pieces last week. Today, I came home and will probably skip dinner to shrink my appetite and belly a bit. Or I may go get a fresh pressed juice nearby; I like apple, celery and carrot. And a wheat grass shot!
