Good Tuesday! I have been reading along. Hugs to all especially those dealing with losses, illnesses, or family issues. ((HUGS))
I think I hit a breaking point this past Saturday. All I could do was cry and be quiet. While I maintained within 3 pounds of my goal for 6 months, I have blown that away in the past 6. I put on 4 dresses that were just too form fitting. Finally found on that fit. At that point got on the scale.....I have gained back 10 pounds. 😢 I know why...I quit logging, moving, and hydrating. I forgot to put me first. My house was in a chaotic state. My work all consuming. I didnt even get May checks in the bank until June 1. I have a physical the end of July. I know what to do just have to implement it. So.....I am showering at night before bed. Was taking one with DH in morning, but his timing wasnt working for me. This is one less thing for morning time. I am packing lunches in the pm. Easier to log and I know I have something healthy so that I am not living on chocolates. I need to add exercise, but did get my 10k steps in yesterday. I switched my water container back to one with a straw. Apparently, I drink more with a straw. I have started decluttering home. Now down to just one area which I am working on when I get out of hot tub. I "feel" better and KNOW I have all of you for support. I love the sharing, caring, and support of you all.
Family drama, maybe, could just be my sister being my sister. My nephew is getting married in July in CA. I feel badly that no one from my sister's side of the family is attending, but the cost for most of the family is prohibitive. For my brother, it is health of grand babies reasons. For me it is mask wearing. I cannot wear one for more than about 5 minutes without panicking and high anxiety. Therefore no planes. It is at least a 3 day drive one way. I say at least as I am the solo driver. My sister hasn't called me back since I told her this. It is typical for her though. We play phone tag often. I was looking forward to the wedding thinking east coast, forgot bride's family is west coast. 😪
Thank you for listening. ❤
Better get a few things done before work. I will bio later.
❤🦋

great job getting back on track.
Sorry you will have to miss the wedding. I am sure your nephew will understand. Hope your sister does but if not, that is on her. Just dealt with sister issues last week.
I am finally getting back on track too-first week of tracking in way too long.
Going to keep it at 1100 to 1200 calories a day- did 1000 for a year and a half-think that was too low-didn't gain but didn't loose any. Back doing my version of intermittent fasting- hard getting started on that.
New motivation(not as good as the last one but if it helps at all, I will take it) Class reunion rescheduled for this coming Sept. 41st reunion for my class, plus adding two more classes.
I think one thing that might make it a little easier to eat better is husband just got results from his A1C- it has gone up to 8.1-highest it has been. Maybe he will take it a little more serious. His eating/sleeping/exercising is all reallllllly bad.

Small victories add up! Well done!
Quick and incisive bio (well, incisive anyway): I'm 61, weigh 190 this morning, and ever striving for 160. Due in large part to MFP and this group, I'm 27 pounds lighter than when I joined five or six years ago. I found this group shortly after I arrived on the forum, and have never left.
Pre-MFP I was an airman in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1983 and then married another airman, who I stayed married to for 27 years. The year of our 25th anniversary, I had a gastric bypass. Over the next two years, I shed 166 pounds from my high of 303 pounds, and gained a half-inch of my height back to make me 5 feet 1 and a half inches tall--my weight had depressed my spine.
I left my now-ex-husband in May 2008 and met the man of my dreams literally a week later. After we were both extricated from our marriages, we married each other 12 years ago. Over that interim, my highest has been 219, and my lowest about 165. He brought with him a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl who needed a mom that was stable and relatively sane, and I now have two people who call me Mom and three who call me Gramily. Pretty awesome, that.
Professionally, I retired as a grant writer (or was pushed out by some of their actions, according to who's telling the story) last year at this time. I've self-published three books on Amazon and continue to write in various ways and for various reasons.
Thus endeth the incisive, but not quick bio.
Been struggling with some health issues of late, but have kept my weight stable. Too fast a weight loss makes me feel even sicker, so I'm kind of on a maintenance diet for the time being.
Speaking of which, yesterday's doctor visit went pretty much as expected. More but different antibiotics, one to treat the UTI, one to treat the SIBO. I feel like alphabet soup some days.
I'm going to go out and deadhead my roses, which have gone completely insane around the lamppost... and I think I'll use them as my first attempt at dehydrating something.
Onward and upward, kids,
Love y'all to pieces,

Carol: DH & I also celebrated our 51st Wedding Anniversary this March. Our wedding was spring break from the University of Oregon in 1970. We were married in a stone lookout tower at Cape Perpetua on the Oregon Coast. Whales were passing by in the ocean below us while we recited our vows to an Oregon Judge who was a family friend.
We had planned the celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary for last year but wild fires and covid made it impossible last year. I hope to be able to go there again in the future. ❤️2 -
It is so so lovely to meet you all and read your bios!! Thank you so much for sharing and welcoming me to this group!! As I have said in my first post, I am from southern New England USA and moved to my current home after I met my second husband 20 years ago, his first marriage. Sold my home when I moved, to my son who was getting married and he raised his daughter in the same home he grew up in. I have one grand-child who is in her second year of high school. I am 68 years old and am still wondering how I got so old so fast!!! I recently retired and loving it!! I have a 5 year old cat who keeps me on my toes, love gardening and keeping up with the house. My parents, God bless them are still alive and kicking in their late 80's and am planning a trip to go see them since we have numerous birthdays to celebrate and everyone has gotten their vaccinations. Posting a photo of Lou.

Welcome to all those who are new.
I am 73 and worked in aquatics most of my life. My last job was at a hospital managing the therapy pools for the rehab dept. I retired in 2015 and moved from SD to WA to be closer to kids. My DH died 2 years ago. I have 1 son and 1 daughter. I currently live with my DD on 10 acres. We have 2 horses, 2 goats, 4 cats and 1 dog. I have been with MFP since 2012. I did well to begin with but have gained some back with the Covid shutdown. The pool is open again and I am back in the water exercising. Need to cut way back on the sugar.
Annie - Well done.

My bio,
I am 58 ( why can't I ever remember that number). I married the first time right out of high school. Two beautiful daughters, 5 years in the Philippines, and 13 years of marriage, we divorced. We both believe in being there for our family and it has never been an issue. We remain friends with regards to the family. It took 15 years for my current husband to marry me. We have been married almost 12 years now. I work in his family business selling, repairing, and customer service of lawn mowers. I am his first marriage. We have 4 grandchildren 11, 13, 13, and 18. My DH is legally blind but the only thing he really can't do is drive. He buys cool cars and I get to drive. He has only lived in 4 houses his entire life and they were only about 5 miles from each other. I am the gypsy soul from AL to DC that somehow landed in Ohio-SMH
I joined MFP in 2010 with my BFF. When she was killed in a car accident two months later, I took a short break. I am not sure how I met this wonderful supportive group of ladies several years ago, but am so happy I did. I was 97 lbs at 5'2" when I met my now husband in 1994. That weight was easy for me to maintain working in a restaurant, but when I started working with/for my husband, the fast foods, dinners out, and quitting smoking lots of times took its toll. Before I knew it I was over 150 lbs. That was my pregnancy weight! I cried for days. My husband told me he loved me for me not my weight. My starting weight with MFP was 140. I have been at my goal weight twice since then. Since September 2020 when I was at goal, I got lazy. Not really. Maybe. I know I got depressed and overwhelmed (as did lots of other people). My weight is back up and now need to lose 12 pounds. Walking, water, and CICO (means less sugar crap) really works. Support from friends and loved ones helps. None of us are the same and our loss journey won't be the same, but support is so important.
We are big dog people, though currently without a fur baby. Just not ready after the loss of our last one just before Christmas. There will be more fur babies around our home soon.
That is my story. Welcome to the new ladies! We all come from different life styles, beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds, yet the support here is the best.

Thank you. I 'too haven't tracked in too long. two days under my belt again! I know tracking, CICO, walking, and water are my keys. Too low of calories don't help me. I have found for me that an over day here and there of healthy food helps jump start plateaus. We CAN do this!!
My non scale victory last night.... I go up to go pee and didn't hit the chocolates or caramels! I had water instead and went back to bed.
Need to head to bed.

Sue in WA: It was good to see your post. I’m happy your pool is available again!
Kylia: Fur babies make life better. Our old dog passed away and I miss him every day. We have some fall travel obligations coming up with family and will look for a pup when that is done. :flowerforyou:
Our niece is getting married and our daughter is on her way to the wedding. Both DD & I will be in the wedding. I hope that our wonderful niece has found a good man who will cherish her.

Midnight has passed and it is12:13 at this moment. I have nasty acid reflux and need to set upright for at least a half an hour. I received a telephone call from our daughter. She is on the ground in Portland and we will see her tomorrow. A long time friend picked her up at PDX and she is spending the night. We will see her in the morning. YAAAAYYYY!7

Morning ladies
Been awake since 4 am,i had some wierd dreams last night, but when I dream I sleep half way decently..
Another hot one today and then will get back to normal temps, going to go get Homer in a few.3 -
We had a text last night from DDIL to say she had double booked and could we take the kids to school in the morning. She dropped them off at 8 o'clock this morning.
Phew! 25 mins hectic play, then we all set off. Edie on her scooter, Bea on her bike, Max walking. The journey normally takes 30 mins, but today it was nearly 45!!!
Half way there Edie spotted some friends and she was rushing off. We had to restrain her. Then Bea saw a friend and was in a race! Ooouuufff!
By the time we got to school we were knackered! Main roads, traffic lights, crossings etc. With 3 children on vehicles. D H carrying their bags.
All was well in the end.
On the way home we stopped at our tiny local supermarket to buy veg and then I spotted some geraniums outside a shop. I've been looking for some for a while and really wanted red ones for the pot outside our dining room window. Everywhere only had pink ones. These were Triang red. (Look it up) So I negotiated a discount for buying the last three, as they were a bit tired.
So we will plant them this afternoon.
Then we exercised. I rowed. DH ellipticalled.
We listened to the Soul Music podcasts, Spem in Alium. Then, Ole Man River. Both wonderful.
Then I felt I was past doing my memoir, so I dyed my roots instead. Sitting here waiting to rinse it off.
Natural blonde again.

Good Wednesday!
Plans have a way of laughing at me. LOL! Helped Steve ordering accessories for his car last night, put away Costco order, caught up here, and poof...past bed time. No shower, no lunch packed, no dishwasher emptied. Time with husband spending his money-WORTH IT! I managed to get those things done this morning. Really short on steps to start the day, but have all day to make that up.
Time to get some bills paid then off to work!
Heather UK- That sounds hectic and wonderful! So great that you are close enough and healthy enough to do that for your family. Congratulations on the flower find.
Katla- Enjoy the time with your DD. Glad she is safely landed.
TTFN

Katla ~ So happy for your daughter's visit and hope you all have a wonderful time.
Heather ~ You and your husband are wonderful grandparents. My son and his wife are so lucky that her mom lives near by and is there to help whenever needed.
We took son and family for pizza last night and I am afraid that the spicy pizza does a number on me. Took two antacids that worked but took hours to get to sleep. This happens whenever my routine changes. Worth it though because we don't get to see them often with their busy schedules.

Rori, hugs, you sound rather serene.
Ginger, hugs, I am not great at intermittent fasting. cause going back to eating can be a bit weird. I used to fast and then overeat, (or visa versa) in my early 20s so when I fast it can evoke that weirdness. I tend to go for slow and steady, though I know intermittent fasting is now, presently, often recommended. at one point though my natural rhythm in summer vacation was breakfast at about 10h30 or so and lunch/dinner at about 5pm. It was during those decades when I naturally had no weight issues, easily kept weight off without effort.3
