Jack and I are doing well, he's been gone now for 3.5 weeks helping his brother take care of their 90 yo mother with dementia. Jack's brother has recurring cancer in a couple places, he meets with oncologist and radiologist on Wednesday to discuss radiation. Jack will need to be there throughout that process.
My oldest grandson and his wife of less than three years have split up due to him going back to using drugs. He has been in and out of rehab since he was 17, he'll turn 28 in August. It's heartbreaking to watch.
My great-grandson, Jaxx, is not developing as he should. He's 14 months old and the size of an 8 -9 mo old. He is getting physical therapy and working with a nutrition specialist. Doctors are conferring on which specialist needs to see him. I wish they'd hurry up.
I maintained my weight well through the pabdemic, but now with stressful situations and Jack being gone for so long, I've let it creep up. Have to stop that trend now.
Despite the gloom and doom above, I do have so very much to be thankful for and certainly my friends here are on my "thankful for" list.

JanetR: It is good to see you again. I’m happy you’re here.
Susan NY: Susanbella was the name of my favorite doll when I was a child. Welcome! You will find friendship and support here.
This has been a good day. We have family coming soon, and are looking forward to it. Our daughter and son in law's parents are coming on an RV trip and are bringing our grandchildren. I am delighted they’re coming our way.

JanetR - welcome back! You were missed, my dear, and it's good to see you. I'm sorry your family is struggling. Stay with us and keep the pesky pounds at bay!
Katla - Hope your hubby is doing better today, sorry he took a fall!
TMI on testing, rant on the rest:Had to come off the meds in order to get the samples needed for the lab tests, so my gut is in a complete uproar - thus being up at 1:30 a.m. posting. But I successfully obtained the sample to take in, and hope to have answers on the other side. When I go in this morning, they're taking blood/urine, etc. They're testing for hepatitis a, b and c; food allergies; fat absorption; ulcers; acute colitis; giardia; and pretty much everything else you can think of. In other words, they're still flailing for a diagnosis and still treating symptoms only.
You can imagine my joy.
On the flip side, they are supposed to be ordering rifaxamin sent to me, basically a different antibiotic, but one with some success in treating my symptoms. At least it's not just expecting the same actions to create a different result.
Just tired of it, in all honesty. I'm coming up on two years of this, and I'm just... tired. I want an answer.
Anyway... I'm fine. I'm going to go try to get a little more sleep.
Love y'all,

I’ve migrated from Noom (too expensive) so am looking for a online group to be part of for motivation in my weight loss/healthy life journey. I’m from Cambridge, UK 😄9 -
Hi elthurston1 What can we call you? I'm living in Brighton and Hove UK. Happy to have you here.
Decided to go out for a walk with DH this morning as the weather is still glorious. My son and family have been so lucky on their half term holiday. Left the house at 8.10 and it was already very warm.
Walked up to the swimming pool, then turned around and walked down to the fish market. We had brought bags with us. Bought frozen large prawns, monkfish filleted into kebab sized chunks, smoked haddock, mixed fish with scallops for soup, and beautiful locally caught brill. They have their own boats. We will have the brill tomorrow.
Came back and finished the burn off in the exercise room.
Lisa - I know it's a drag, but I am so pleased they are looking into it properly. Hang on in there!
Hair trim this afternoon. Now I must get back to my editing.

Evening all. Yesterday was BUSY. Drove to Ulverstone for Pilates mat class then a full day at work. Drove to Burnie for an appointment with my doctor in her new rooms. Drove to Devonport for ballet class then home finally about 8pm. The fire had long gone out so the house was freezing...
Today was work and then tap class, gee I suck at tap dancing and we have an exam in four weeks, yikes!
Tomorrow, I'm meeting a friend for coffee before work so will have to avoid the cake or bun temptations. Then work and hopefully home before the fire dies.
Getting to know you all slowly.

Good morning all:
Did an update on my computer last night that took forever so I didn't get on here. Had a good day. Work went well. Got in a long walk afterwards (a bit over an hour). Going to be rainy and a bit cool here today (63). Wish the weather would be a bit more consistent.
Janetr-sorry to hear about your grandson. Unfortunately, that is often the cycle of addiction
Lisa-I do hope the testing comes up with some answers. It's obvious the current path isn't quite doing the job. It often seems like the medical field gets stuck with one path (granted, often the most obvious diagnosis can be correct), but once they start down that road it can take forever for them to check other possibilities.
My current medical issues are making me seriously look at retirement date. It will most likely not be before end of year, but if I am at stage where things start going wrong (like back) I want some time to do some of the things I want on my terms while I can enjoy myself. I know I have been up and down in my decision making process but shutting this door is tougher than I once imagined it would be. It seems like I am moving towards a healthy acceptance of opening a new chapter but I do have some loose ends to clear up (that's my work ethic talking). However, I do feel I am in the space to start serious plans.
Meanwhile-off to shower and get to work-since I'm not retired yet!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio7 -

Long, long day here in southern Tassie.
Earlier morning than usual.
7.5 hour meeting at work. It was one of those whole unit things with the ice breaker and all the group brainstorming stuff.
Then I returned to the office and actually did a couple things before heading out to an AGM for my cycling club.
That was a dinner meeting and the whole thing, including dinner, took 1 hour and 20 minutes and was, fortunately, much better, more efficient, and more productive than the 7.5 hour meeting.
Nevertheless, all up I was away from home for 12 hours and in meetings for about 9 of those hours.
I'm tired!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!! @Katla49 Susabella was what my Dad called me my whole life. He passed last summer at 92 and had suffered some dementia in the years prior and had trouble remembering names, but he never forgot Susabella. It's a beautiful June Day here in NY, working later but plan on puttering in the flower garden before I have to leave. Have a wonderful day Ladies!!

Elthruston1: Welcome!!! :flowerforyou:
Lisa: I wish you well with your testing. I had colitis in the past. It turned out to be caused by lactose intolerance. I can eat cheese and cottage cheese, but drinking milk was bad for me. Now they have lactaid cottage cheese and lactaid milk on the grocery store coolers. Lactaid is the key that opens the doors for me, as well as DH. Lactaid is also sold as capsules so that you can add it to meals that might otherwise cause digestive upsets. It might be worth a try for you. It might also be something to discuss with your doctor.
Janetr: I am delighted that you are back!
I am hoping to go to yoga this morning. I’ll call ahead to be sure that it is available today. Next week our daughter will be here for our niece's wedding. I am delighted that she will be here for a while.

My dear Karen, thank you my friend, you made me grin. I think of you very often and every time I wish we were close enough to visit over coffee. I'm floundering about right now, feeling as if I have no one to really visit with. i will rely on my dear friends here.

Trying to get cataract surgery and having to go through several procedures before I can get it. It will probably be September/October before I am finally ready. So disappointed!

Bright spot in my day - roofer who has terrific reviews from local customers came out and gave us a quote that was thousands of dollars less than our expectations. Really needed some good news right now, so am tremendously grateful.
I've been poked, perforated and handed over all body fluids they asked for. Time for a nap.

Having a hard time getting started today. I got the dog's nails trimmed, but I haven't done my bike or my walking or my laundry. It feels like there's rain coming. Wish I could do coffee but it would keep me up all night.
Welcome back Janet!
