What irks you today?

Tourists! I live in a small town that bloats with outdoor recreationalists and passer-through types. As long as Iβve lived here youβd think Iβd be used to the summer inundation, but I just spent nearly two hours in the one grocery store with 40 miles to pick up a prescription and about 10 other items. I thought going today would save me some of the long weekend lines as people pick up groceries and such but nopeβ¦ trailers, boats, campers everywhere. Iβm ready for fall and everyone to stay home. π. Rant over. π€£π1

Myself. Especially when I let others affect my mood. Then of course my mood affects my eating. Then my eating affects my mood.
Get me off this ridiculous merry-go-round.5 -
The amount (and type) of friend requests in the last 3 days. No thank you, I don't need a date....From Russia.... or Saudi..... and sending me an unclothed profile pic doesn't change that..... (Yes I got one of those) I guess the program is on cruise.. LoL2

KosmosKitten wrote: Β»Parking in D.C. They expect everyone to already have a pre-loaded app, an iPhone (Android users still exist, jerks) and a QR scanner in order to pay for ANY parking. It's all online and that's the only way to pay for parking. So, essentially, I can't park anywhere in the city that's not a parking garage because I don't have an iPhone, don't have tons of data to sit around in traffic downloading their stupid app and they won't let me pay in person with a CC or cash (nowhere to pay it).
Normally, I'd just take the Metro, but we had to drive to some meet-and-greet for my son's school and there wasn't a Metro nearby. Thought we'd go find a bite to eat only to find out we were prevented from parking ANYWHERE because of their setup.
In fact, Android users are about 50% of the American cell phone marketshare (and like 80% worldwide). This is one of the reasons I will NEVER, EVER own an iPhone! Sorry about your parking issues.0 -

We have these possums around our house, well maybe not the same type.. Its so quiet nowadays, and you just hear this screech randomly throughout the night. It sounds fn scary, like sometimes it sounds sort of human in the distance too.2 -

The narrative that is spun anytime something tragic happens. It all ends up being a very "us" vs. "them" mentality. In the case of anything relating to gun violence, it usually maligns responsible gun owners, former military people and people with mental health issues.
Sorry to burst the media bubble, but not all gun owners are crazy, not all military members are crazed mental baby killers and not all people with mental health issues are one step away from shooting up a room full of people.
A tragedy has happened; let's focus on that and making whatever that is better, be it with better legislation, better availability of mental and physical health services or better steps and identifiers for people who need help before they get to a point of hurting themselves or other people, not spinning false narratives and sensationalism to drum up sales of your preferred news source.10 -

Husband attempting to make me feel as though I'm not doing enough to interact with his parents, as we're visiting them. I spend 75% of my awake day with them and I need a little time for myself. It's okay, though, if they all get drunk and watch football (which I don't want to do) or sit on their phones. But if I escape to watch a show for a couple of hours, it's the end of the world. I must be present and sociable at every single second. Not going to work... I have my sanity to keep intact. He throws fits and then always comes back to apologize. Wish he would get a grip on his emotions and drinking, too...10

A client who walked in with their dog (and truffles) just reminded me of this even tho it just happened last night.
Disclaimer: I'm afraid of/don't like dogs and when out on my walks book it to the other side of the path/run into the street if I see some coming.
That was one of the reasons I moved into my apt building yeeeeeeeeeeears ago. Sometime around last year or so I saw one of the tenants walking a dog....a few times over the year. I figured it was either a comfort dog or the rules had changed or something and there was nothing to be done.
Anyway, I got home from work last night and there was a letter from the building manager, her favorite way of communicating building business, taped to my door. We all got the "some tenants have people with dogs visiting but pets, even visiting ones, still aren't allowed in the building" letter. Also, keep your freakin' music/tvs down.
I left for my walk and, when I got home, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENT, was one of the dog culprits talking to a few people. Well, someone apparently didn't get the memo. I know a dog's bark is worse than its bite but this one comes after you, even if on a leash, and barks at like 1:00 in the morning.
So I was irked. And I'm sure they could all tell when I asked her to move the dog so I could get in my apartment.
Also, I just ate 2 truffles when I was only going to eat 1 because I ate the wrong one first (one with alcohol....that was the wrong one!...and one without.6 -

My treadmill.
The band that you run/walk on went off to the side. And it smells like smoke when itβs turned on from it rubbing against the corner.
I need it fixed ASAP. Winter is just around the corner.1
