I’ve read and caught up, but didn’t take notes. I’m really exhausted and I’m trying to take it easy.

Spent the weekend in Waco, Texas with 5 lifelong friends. For those in the US that watch HGTV’s Fixer Upper, we stayed at the Three Little Pigs house from season 3 of the show. We had a great time reminiscing and laughing.

Okie - Life long time friends are a treasure. I count several in my life and am so happy to have known them fondly after all this time. ❤️😍❤️😍❤️😘❤️4

HEATHER awesome about your radio show. Sorry it was postponed but that gives more time to notify potential future listeners if you have the time.0

MARGARET nice about the gifts from DH. unwanted gifts: give or toss. Your 1st friend was probably well intentioned but not thinking well. The second maybe you could say point blank, I would love to get together but with husband in stage 4 cancer I have more work than I can manage and am overwhelmed so I'm sad to say I have to put if off until you get out from under time-wise, difficult to gage. Or you could ask her if bringing take away for lunch break at home would be a possible alternative if she would like to meet up sooner...if you want to. IF that would be a nice break for you.
VICKI I'm so sorry about your slipped disc, missed vacation and finding about a friend who had passed. That seems really sad not having even a simple service.
TINA I am so sorry bout your uncle and the related family complications.
ANNIE you can also google start up instructions and will very likely find short tutorials on YouTube and other info online if instructions are not furnished.
BETH I'm so sorry.2 -

I've had an interested reply from a national newspaper, no promises, so I've got to post them my books this morning, write a short covering letter etc. I'm popping out for my flu jab just after an early lunch, so I will nip down to the post office then. My DDIL was kind enough to give me the contact, though I didn't mention her.
Back home for a cup of tea and then off to pick up Bea from school. DH has his jab just a bit after mine.
Haven't decided what to do about dinner.

PS - The tax people think they owe ME money! I've got to write them a note telling them not to give me any, or I'll have to pay it back. I think I must have put my savings interest in the wrong box.3 -
Morning ladies
Im awake and got Alfie out and watching morning news..ill be traveling down in the morning down to New Haven tomorrow ,for the evaluation..only thing i cant handle is if they start trying to take bottles of bloodnot vials..they did that in the hospital and i was in tears.. other than that i can handle most anything.
Have to go up to the next town up and pick up a special crochet hook to start on Taliahs blanket3 -
Good morning all! Happy Tuesday!
Daylight savings time- I don't care either way; (whether we stop the hour jump back and forth), during the winter months we will still have only 8 hours of daylight. Dark when the kids arrive; dark when the kids are picked up. For me, the only downside of winter.
Beth- Sending love and hugs! So many seemingly insignificant details pop up and show us the significance when we are grieving loved ones.
Karen VA- Your old house is beautiful! I love a nice sunny porch; but I am suffering from MAJOR kitchen envy! I hope you get somoe great offers on the place!
Tracey- let yourself rest and I hope you are feeling better soon!
Pip- You and Kirby are superstars! Enjoy the Grand Canyon!
Heather-Your book so far is wonderful and sad. I want to hug the younger you as she traverses the waters of adolescence. I had a lump in my throat so many times. I am at the part where the diaries begin. I so wish the horrible things that happened had never happened to you; at the same time, we are who we are because/in spite of those things. I stand amazed and proud of you; my strong, resilient, determined, friend. Truly, you have always been a force to be reckoned with.
More of you I wanted to respond to but, kids in front of me eating breakfast LOUDLY! lol ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)6 -
Margaret, It took me years of repetition to make the point that I wanted no gifts. i remember when my mother was my age she told me "If I can't eat or drink it or slather it on my body, I don't want it." The last time someone gave me something that was of absolutely no use, I said "Thank you" then later put it in the box of items to donate to the thrift shop.
I found out that many of the blankets collected by Project Linus in my community have gone to a food bank where when families come to get food, children are able to choose a hand made blanket for themselves.
We finally got appointments for our Moderna booster. We had both had frustrating experiences with trying to make appointments online and by phone so we went to Walgreens yesterday afternoon and found out that we could go to the photo counter and the clerk there would make the appointment. We go for the vaccine on Saturday afternoon.

Thanks for the encouragement! I did a better search and found more info about changing phones. Glad to see my old phone is not too old for this. I don't know why this process scares me so much.
Meanwhile it's my mother's birthday and she wants a chocolate cake. I must resist!

KJ - thanks for persevering It means a lot to me
Margaret- I'm still trying to pluck up courage to say no Christmas presents, just charity donations. The whole thing seems ridiculous to me I give my brother wine and he gives me food or drink. Of course the grandchildren will get presents. DH and I do our Santa presents in bed.
I still have to ask DDIL what her Christmas plans are. I hope to do it today as we are in their house. DH is playing a board game with them.
I'm going to order a pizza just as we set off home and we can pick it up as we pass the shop. I am not feeling like cooking. Still recovering from yesterday.
Pleased we have both got our flu jabs.
Love to all. Allie, hope all goes well tomorrow.

Well SSV (super scale victory), I am only up one lb from my 5 days of eating 3 times a day. Some meals were just a slice of cheese, or a spoonful of my homemade cheesecake, but I was definitely out of my normal comfort zone! My UTI is gone, and feeling good! Starting to get ready for my trip down, bag is out. Also starting to pack what Lee and eldest son have to bring down, so I can make Thanksgiving on Saturday 27th. Downloaded some Kindle books to read to Athena, they are mostly "moving day" themed.💖👍 I am bringing my big pot that I boil potatoes in, and my masher. Plus cake pans for making birthday cake for son. I will do that mid week. He said you don't have to, but I said "humor me, I like spoiling you"!
Today's feast is 2 brats I'm slicing and cooking with yellow onion, olive bruschetta paste and then adding cubes of chicken broth, wild rice, diced tomatoes, and finally fresh spinach. A sprinkling of parmesan, and its such a great meal. I am guaranteed a good week when I fix that for one or two days. 💖
Hugs to each and every one of yas!

Hi OK day. Morning in café not grreat work but tried. Lunchtime dentist. Very uncomfortable new sort of thing to keep lips from teeth... when getting out i joked i was traumatized. It was not the drilling or the diddling with teeth but this new guard. I told them and they said im not alone in having this experience. It depends on anatomy they said..bad invention. Teeth are doing okay though1

Allie - I bet Talia will love the afghan you make for her. It will give her a cozy hug every time she uses it, and she will think of you. 😊0

Worked then went with Vince for his shot. Didn’t find anything at the Salvation Army but then went to Lowe’s Hardware and got grass seed and weed and feed
Vicki – glad to hear you’re getting better, but so sorry it happened. And so sorry about your friend
Tina – I’m so sorry about your uncle
Debbie – not you too feeling bad!!! This HAS to stop...lol Glad to see you were given comfort. Isn’t it amazing how hot you get with a cat on you?
When Vince’s parents died, he didn’t have any kind of memorial. It was sad. But that’s their way.
Heather – sounds like you’re having a great day. First the reply, then the tax..you are one lucky gal
I wish we would stay on DST only because then it will be light for the kids Trick or Treating
Mermaid saga: well, I put the Mother of Pearl on yesterday. Unfortunately, I spilled some and since it’s oil based, it’s very hard to get up. I’m going to bring some mineral spirits with me tonight and finish cleaning up. She’s in the kiln being fired.
Anne de – happy birthday to your mom

Many of the blankets collected by our PL Chapter also go to local food banks and several smaller organizations outside of hospitals. The need is great. We also make pillowcases, teddy bears and hats. Wonderful organization!
We made appts online with Walmart Pharmacy for our Moderna boosters next week.

Thanks Michele ☺️
The phone has problems. I think I had the security settings too tight. I will call the help number soon.

Update on selling the house:
The greatest thing happened. We got an offer for the house from a recently married couple. It was accompanied by the sweetest note saying how much they loved everything about the house, how they could see themselves in it, imagine their friends & family visiting, already knew which bedroom would be for visiting grandparents, and best of all, imagined raising their future children there. It warmed my heart and brought a tear or two. We are under contract with them, needless to say.
