I was AF for the first 10 days of the month yesterday I ended up having some wine. Today I'm back to AF.4

DH called me on my way home ... please pick up a bottle of white wine to go with the chicken he was smoking. Of course! No problem.
2 glasses of wine this evening.

Happy Monday.
I was away for an impromptu get a way with friends, 4 states away. It was much needed. Got in TONS of walking, eating good foods and YES some drinking.
Not feeling guilty one bit for having 3 consecutive days(no consecutive is always my goal)with alcohol, because I was in control of the amounts I drank and could drive safely, walk and converse normally.
On the last day away I chose not to drink and no one questioned that. Since being back home I have also kept dry.
I did however over eat, by ordering large portions and I didn't drink as much water as I should have.
4 days A
8 days AF
Glad to be 🏡 home.
@dawnbgethealthy here is a photo for you I took. It was beautiful.

Dec to-date: 9 AF, 3 A
Hiked yesterday which made me feel warm and relaxed inside so I felt no stress and had no thoughts of buying wine. AF yesterday.
Now, if I was at a busy mall full of holiday shoppers, many possibly carrying Covid, my Sunday evening could've resulted in a beeline for the wine aisle. I'm patting myself on the back for planning my day carefully!

Wow @MissMay That is an amazing photo!
Still keeping to one or no drinks in the evening, however yesterday was a pizza and beer type of day. We brought a pizza home, then watched a movie while we drank a beer. It was nice.
Today I am going to experiment and try to make sugar free gummy bears. Anyone ever try this? Tips? Tricks?5 -
Just catching up, everybody, and wow, I'm so sorry about the car wreck @Lilylady3k. Really scary. And really stressful for the mom-to-be, not just the fear but the hassle of dealing with a car accident aftermath-- dealing with their insurance, having to get the car fixed, or worse, having to get another car... any way you slice it, it is one huge hassle a mom-to-be does not need. Hopefully she is getting all the help she needs.
I have never heard of making your own gummy bears, so I'm interested to learn about this.
"Less alcohol" is not going well. The trip was not exactly as I had expected. I thought it would be a relaxing sort of thing (at least for me) but it was more of a heavy work thing. The villa was essentially a hospitality suite with guests who stayed until 2AM drinking Thurs & Friday. And then we had to clean up. So, so much drinking. The weekend was mellow and fun, though. Got to have dinner with a HS classmate I don't get to see often, and our husbands have never met, so that was fun. I was AF 2 days last week, the 2 days before we left town. I kind of need to regroup.5 -
12/13 - 📚AF this evening at dinner with book club. One of my friends bought wine bottles for the table to share ... but I stuck with water. Again they were surprised. But I'm good. DH was home and AF as well.

OMG!! Paradise for my eyes and imagination. Which state is this in? This might have to go on my bucket list. Nobody skating...they do skate on it right? All the more beautiful of a photo without skaters, I love an empty rink : - )
Thank you!!!3 -

HELLO LESS ALCOHOL family
Another AF evening.
Our weather is lovely. 45° beats snow, ice or below freezing any day in my book. I was able to pound drive way stakes into the soft ground yesterday as a guide for the plow driver WHEN it does snow.
Glad everyone liked the ice skating rink pic.
@dawnbgethealthy that was at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. It was empty because it was very late at night, the casino is 24 /7, but the rink is not. I wish I could have fit in all the holiday decorations out in that area, they were mind blowing.
@Lilylady3k I am catching up on posts. That was horrible to hear of the accident with the pregnant Mom. Glad she and baby are safe.
@lmlmrn making your own gummies? Do tell. This will go on your long list of things your accomplished at I'm sure.
Needing to shop and do a bit of baking in the next few days for gifts.
Make this a great Tuesday.

Love the ice rink picture! That's so beautiful!
I was feeling a lot of anxiety last night. I was hungry all day, too, but for what I didn't know. At first I thought it was just hormones (peri-menopausal here), but then I realized it would have been my wedding anniversary with my late husband. I decided to have a few glasses of wine to settle my mind and help me fall asleep.
Well, my tolerance is gone! I took the opportunity to observe how I felt and to note that although I wasn't drinking any more than would have been normal a few months ago, it was more than I realized at the time. Or perhaps more than I acknowledged. I did at least sleep through the night.
So, today I have a mild hangover and I'm a little depressed because settling down with my nightly wine used to be the best part of my day and now I see I'm going to have to make a permanent change. Also, it's like 80 degrees and overcast and doesn't feel very Christmassy at all!
Tonight will make it 12/14 days AF.7 -

Thanks, @ahoy_m8. It's been many years, but certain dates still get to me.
On a happier note: Happy belated birthday!5 -
At a party tonight in an absolutely beautiful home ... very modern. Here is a pic of the wine room that over looks the downstairs
AF ... yes there was wine and nothing else served. I got water out of the faucet. Focused on mingling and talking to old friends and met a number of new people. It was nice. DH had a Christmas party within a few miles too that was alcohol free ... he dropped me off and picked me up since we were about 20 miles from home. No need for 2 cars and neither of us needed a designated driver for a change.

@Mouse_Potato the holiday season brings out so many different emotions for everyone.
I happen to share your exact sadness this month as well, it would have been my 33 wedding anniversary to my late husband this Friday.
Your accountability here is important to us as well. Hope your hangover passed quickly.
