If you are feeling that weighing each day is not for you then do it less often. Some people on this thread weigh weekly or twice weekly.

I find for myself that when I weigh daily I eat less the night before than I would if I knew that I wasn't. Silly I know, but it works for me.
I can see at a glance when things should be avoided or cut back if they are always causing a raise.

It also can be very frustrating when there is a weight fluctuation for no apparent reason! In that case if I was weighing weekly and it happened to fall on a weigh day then I would be very upset with working hard all week and seeing a gain.

Lol, psychological games that we play with ourselves to try and achieve our goals. Whatever works.

@dawnbgethealthy you're so right here. my first two weeks in and I've been weighing daily, but I'm going to switch it to every Thursdays now. I'm hoping my random weight flucuactions don't fall on that day too 😂 because like you said if you've worked hard all week and see these flucuactions it would be upsetting. But I need to remind myself they're normal too. ❤️

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 61 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

01/17.…..194.4…..(Trend Weight 193.0)….. I couldn’t get full yesterday and no TMI today. It’s got to get better tomorrow!

01/18.…..193.8…..(Trend Weight 193.0)….. Good meals but too much grazing during the day. Extra hungry for some reason. Today there will be more work on the living room reno project. This project will last several weeks. No room. Furniture covered and in the center. No privacy again. However, the dining room turned out nice and the living room will be an even bigger impact! Glad to be getting some of this out of the way during the cold snowy and icy months. I will need some alone time to leave the house to walk when the weather gets better.

01/19.…..193.2…..(Trend Weight 193.1)….. Well, this certainly proves that results, good or bad, are not always reflected the very next morning. I had a bad eating day yesterday for sure. Yet the scale is down. Very low steps, practically no water. Very bad sleep, disrupted. Busy, busy day. Yet the scale is down by slightly over ½ pound. This must be a result of the past couple of days where my meals were more planned and within my limits. I suspect the scale will creep back up because of yesterday’s fiasco. I’ll work on a good day today.

01/20.…..192.6…..(Trend Weight 193.0)….. Not a perfect day dietary wise, but more improvements made in choices and quantities. Very little movement as it is still restricted. Only 7000+ steps. I’m going to focus on water today. I haven’t been drinking enough. Glad to see that scale dropped, but also that my trend weight has turned around a tidbit and going down instead of up finally.

    1/3: 141.2
    1/4: 141
    1/5: 140.8
1/6: 142.4 Extremely maddening. I went to a Chinese buffet last night, so this is sodium and actual weight of the food, but still. I didn't eat to the point that I was stuffed, and I didn't eat 1.4 fat pounds worth of calories. One day to put it on, 3 days to take it off!
1/7: 140.4 Well, that was the fastest I've ever dropped water weight! I drank 12 cups of water yesterday, so maybe that helped.
    Week 1 Loss: -1.4

    1/8: 140.4
    1/9: 140.2
    1/10: 140.4
1/11: 139.4 New decade! Now to stay in it.
    1/12: 139.4

    1/16: 138.8
    1/17: 138.2

1/19: 139.4 I had a lazy, indulgent Monday and was too scared to get on the scale yesterday haha! I'm adding an extra 15 minutes of exercise every day this week to compensate.

I'm one who has gone from once a week, daily, twice a week, back to daily and more recently sporadically. I think it really depends on how much it effects you and what your goals are. When I did it monthly I was looking for patterns based on exercise and diet. For my lifestyle weighing on Friday and Monday or Tuesday is helpful to keep me from going overboard on the weekend which is when I'm more likely to go out to eat and/or imbibe in alcoholic beverages.

Experiment a bit with different variations and see which one works best for your personality.
