That 100 mile ride was in Zwift, so on a stationary. I've done real ones before, but I don't have a regular group to ride with right now, and I don't like doing long rides without anyone amongst the rather ludicrous drivers on the roads. Maybe once I have a riding partner again, I'll start doing longer efforts outdoors.
Speaking of outdoors, hit the paved trails and did this (wish I had my Bianchi, but it has a flat rear tire. I have to figure out where the imperfection is so I stop blowing tubes). Panasonic it is, so me and the cromaloy vintage beast had fun in the high winds in this area today. Made for one heck of a workout!

Hello all! I’ve been MIA for most of the month but don’t feel too bad for me. I took my daughter on a “bucket-list” trip to Italy so away from the Peloton for almost 3 weeks. But it was worth it…
Previous YTD: 305.03
5/4 11.68

Still way off pace, but I’ll do my best2 -
Oh my @SavageMrsMoose ... how exciting!! How was the trip? What was the highlight?1

Hello @ashleycarole86 !!! Would it be too corny to say everything? Seriously, felt relieved to have gone at all, what with Covid still hanging around. My daughter is a great travel buddy (this was her 25th birthday present). We started in Capri and spent 3 days relaxing, then traveled to visit Pompeii and on to Rome and Florence. Our final stop was Venice. There is something so unique about a city in the water. It was just fantastic!
I saw in an earlier post of yours where you mentioned a bike ride from Cannmore (might have been on a different thread.) My husband used to do business in Canada and he would go on hiking trips with some of his customers from there. I've never been but the pictures look beautiful!2 -

Good luck? Are you doing full or half?
The full!! I spent most of my life in the flatlands and recently moved to WI where there are more hills and it's taking some adjusting for sure.
I've got a hill workout this week, my coach wants me to focus on cadence up hills - and trying to find the right combination of gear and cadence that is most efficient uphill. I'm often around 50-60 RPMs while climbing - and this IN my easiest gears. I'm riding a carbon frame road bike with the pretty standard components that it came with.
I get SO LOST in all the discussions about various cassette options, etc. Maybe I just need to go into the bike shop and say, "I need help on hills... what can we do?"2 -

@SavageMrsMoose Yes it's truly lovely to live so close to the Rocky Mountains. It's a beautiful place to spend time being active outdoors.1

That is so darn impressive! You go girl! It is a real commitment! I am no help with advice for the gears though, as I've stuck to the Peloton for the past 5 years. But hopefully, the bike shop can help.
Keep us posted on your race!1 -

Seriously! Between debris and potholes... goodness gracious it's like cyclocross on a road bike sometimes.2
