Hi, I have used MyFittnessPal in the past - but took the plunge to premium to better monitor my salt and sugar intake. I have never participated in the community, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
I am a 45 year old mom of 4 girls. I work full time and am a master at not fitting in anything for me - working out, food prep etc. I let the stress of the last few years get me down and I stopped exercising and gained a ton of weight. My family has a significant history of Cardiac Disease and Diabetes - My Cholesterol and Glucose numbers have crept up for the first time. I switched to a whole food, plant based, oil free diet September 2020 - I am far from perfect and still eat plenty of junk from time to time and occasional meat - But I have seen a significant decrease in my Cholesterol and Glucose numbers, but they still need to come down more. I keep having spurts where I get in a groove and work out until something unexpected happens - then I again slip into caretaker mode and put everyone's needs in front of mine. Hoping this will help me stay accountable and remain aware of what I am eating, how I'm managing my stress and stay consistent with exercise.
