I'm new to My Fitness Pal - I start week 2 tomorrow. I scanned the thread for this round and would like to join the one that starts tomorrow. What's the easiest way to find the new thread? (edited: never mind, I read the next to last page and found it!)

Hi, I'm Jen!

Round 179 EW: 184.4 lbs (-5.4)
Round 181 GW: 181.0 lbs (-2.0)
03/18: 181.8 lbs (-1.2)
Feel like I'm due for a good loss, so shooting for 1.5 pounds this round. Plus, 181 pounds in Round 181 was too good to pass up! Off to a great start! Just hope it stays down.
03/19: 181.4 lbs (-0.4)
Bit of a surprise. Went out for dinner and drinks last night. Didn't go crazy, but the tortilla chips and guac they got for the table were too tempting! And even shared some Gelato. One meal won't kill me.
03/20: 182 lbs (+0.6)
Maybe that's the Gelato? Dunno. It's OK though.
03/21: 179.8 lbs (-2.2)
Well, did not expect that! The scale flipped back and forth between 180 and 179.8 for a few seconds before it finally settled. That 7 feels weird. I can't believe I'm here.
03/22: 180.4 lbs (+0.6)
I'm sore from ST yesterday and my tongue and lips feel puffy, so think it's water retention. Gonna drink lots of water today.
03/23: 180.2 lbs (-0.2)
Body is teasing me again! Just a few ounces to get below 180. Oh well, it's something! 😄 Still well over my goal for this round so might not be a bad idea to slow down a bit.
03/24: 181.4 lbs (+1.2)
Puffy again and hard workout yesterday. Got too cocky about hitting my round goal! 🤪
03/25: 181.2 lbs (-0.2)
Trying not to be impatient about being up. Just feel like I should be further at this point. Rebound was likely after 2 big loss days. And I'm still doing just fine this round. 0.2 to go to hit my goal. Stressing about it will help nothing. Just being hard on myself.
03/26: 182 lbs (+0.8)
That's what I get for relaxing a bit. Was hungry a few hours after dinner and ate too many tortilla chips with hummus.
03/27: 182.2 lbs (+0.2)
Well, not as good as it might have been, but still a loss. I'll take it and work harder next round.
Round 181 loss: -0.8 lbs8 -

The cone thing was delicious though the overall flavor would be better as a tube. At the open end there was too much filling comparatively. But that is me being picky. BP is perfect today. Not sure what that was all about. Thanks for checking in!4 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

3/18- 190 (-1.4) I’m not sure I can trust this, but I’m thrilled!! Down 74.1 pounds since May. Almost at 75!! I’m swimming today. Thirty pounds to go to hit my goal weight and then I’ll figure out if that’s a good place for me.
3/19- 190 (-1.4) It was good to get in the pool yesterday. I have dinner tonight with a friend I haven’t seen for a very long time, so I’ll have that as my indulgence meal this week, so I’ll be bumping up tomorrow. I can’t believe I’m almost in the 180’s. This week, perhaps?
3/20- 191.4 (0) Enjoyed spending time with my friend yesterday. The bump is expected and I’m looking forward to a new low later this week. It’s spring here in Colorado and I’ll soon be back hiking with my sister once the snow melts. I can’t wait.
3/21- 191.4 (0) A quiet day today just doing art business related work. These are the days where it’s a little tough for me to stay on track. So I’ll do my best to stay focused and to drink all my water.
3/22- 190.6 (-.8) On my way back down. I swam my hour in the pool today, so hoping for a new low tomorrow.
3/23- 190 (-1.4) My scale fluctuated this morning and finally settled back on 190, which is still good. But I did see 189 for a millisecond.
3/24- 189.0 (-2.4) There it is. Officially 75.1 pounds down. I have less than 30 to go. My BMI has gone from 42 down to 30.5. Only .6 to go to get to the overweight category. I’ve been logging into MFP for 295 days in a row and started in this group on July 11th, 2021. Talk about being surrounded by like minded and inspiring people. Another busy day today with no organized exercise. Swimming tomorrow.
3/25- 189.2 (-2.2) As of yesterday, I’m in size 14 jeans. Yes, they are the stretchy ones, but most of them fit. What a fun surprise. So I went to Goodwill to buy size 12’s in anticipation of being able to wear them in a month or two. Today is my indulgence meal. Hmmm….what am I hungry for?
3/26- 190.2 (-1.2) Enjoyed my indulgence meal yesterday and took the dogs for a long walk. Today, I’m in my art studio painting away.
3/27- 191.2 (-.2) The second day after my indulgence meal always shows more of the increase. No worries. While I was hoping to lose more this round, my new low weight was amazing and will be back in the next day or two and then I’ll be even lower. Took the dogs for a long walk today and will be swimming or heading to Orange Theory Fitness tomorrow.

Welcome, Lisa Marie. Just look for the Round 182 in the Challenge Category. We'll be starting up there tomorrow.
The spoiler is a place to shrink down all of your stats. I've never used it so I'm not sure how, but others will be happy to explain how it works.
So glad you're here!!3 -

3-21= 151.8 (t= 149.8) probably should have held off weighing for a few days to get a weeks worth of not enough walking, not enough water, a little too much food daily, a 7 hr car ride, not much TMI, etc out of my system. I know I did not eat 10,000 calories over maintenance to gain 3# of fat, so will just wait until it all clears out to see where I am really at. Also last round I was trying to eliminate dairy to see how it affects me and I didn't follow this when I was gone, so starting that again.

I've obviously used spoiler, lol. (see above) If there is info you want, but don't want the long text, you do this: put a [ ]and write spoiler in the middle of them and do the same at the end, but put a /in front of the word spoiler there. Hope this works for you, not sure I am explaining it well.0

Hi, I’m Kathy.
57, F, 5’8”
7th round! Rebooting my lifestyle after several false starts. I need accountability to make sure it gets done.
Return to MFP SW (Dec 2021): 267
HSW: 267
RSW: 245.4
UGW for now: 195, then reevaluate
Goal for this round: less than I started with
2022 goals: move more (okay, move some), eat mindfully
Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 245.4 And a new low to start the round! I hope this is a good sign for the next 10 days. Heading into a busy weekend so I’ll be mindful. Have a good weekend, y’all!
3/19 DNW
3/20 246.2
3/21 247.4 Lots of eating out with friends and family this weekend (today’s our 30th anniversary) so this jump is not unexpected despite making generally good choices. Hitting the water hard and being especially mindful of sodium intake for the next couple of days should help.
3/22 245.8 Coming back down. Great workout last night – knee strengthening and cardio. The Pollening has begun here, so outdoor activities will be curtailed for the next few weeks until that calms down. Meals are planned and logged and my water cup is full next to me!
3/23 245.6 Still headed the right direction. Actually back in the office today so I brought all my food with me. Meals are all logged.
3/24 245.4 Back to where I started the round. Now time to drop for a couple of days. Lots of stress at work for the next few days but I will do my very best to handle it in a healthy way.
3/25 245.2 Okay. New low! Now to keep it through the weekend.
3/26 244.8 New low! Workout, good choices and lots of water
3/27 243.8 Whoosh! Rest day today. Good food choices but probably a little short on water. Glad to be down to end the round!7 -
I have about 28 kg to lose. I use measurements (centimeters) because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been at this value for about 3 months, let's see if I can finally start losing fat.

bolded numbers are having lost 0.5 cm since 8th March
plugging these numbers into my spreadsheet I get a trendline of 86.5 down to 86.1 cm. If you're wondering how that was calculated, a single column is made, copying left to right and then down one row from the above table and repeating. Each table cell is adjusted so that if the top row of each column was a different number but each column had identical numbers, then the long single column would have identical numbers equal to the average of all the numbers in the table. I use this method because Excel trendline uses least squares, whereas least absolute numbers would be better.
How did this round go? Unfortunately I'm in a pattern of lose a round, gain a round. This round I lost a lot, probably because in the previous round I gained. I overate 3 days this round, compared to my 'ideal' intake amount. I'm having trouble running, only running for one day. Same with sugar, only managed two days without sugary food. The scale showed I lost 900 grams but I'm pretty sure it's about 200-400 grams of fat lost.

I gained 0.2 in round 181. I'd like to get that down this round.

3.19 158.1 Ate at a restaurant last night, but I think I ate OK. Today, I ate a lot of bread and didn't get in my steps. Not logging. . . .
3.20 158.1 Went for a 3 mile jog in the morning. Ate mindfully but didn't log.
3.21 157.4 Encouraged to see a drop this morning! I hope it' real. Will endeavor to log today and get in my steps.
3.22 158.1 Went for a 2.5 mile jog along the oceanside. Logged all my food and ate within points.
3.23 158.1 Did not get in significant exercise; it was rainy today. Logged food -- until dinner. Ate a lot of hubby's yummy chickpea and spinach pasta for dinner.
3.24 157.6 Surprised to see a drop. It might not be real. Mouth was dry last night - I need to drink more water. Another rainy day.
3.25 157.6 Hmm..... Happy the drop has stayed. I ate dessert last night, a slice of a chocolate pastry + 2 chocolates. Went for a short jog first thing this morning. We're eating at restaurants the next 2 nights, so. . . .. We shall see.
3.26 158.3 Tour in Jerusalem; did a lot of walking - but did a lot of eating as well. Ate this large lovely circle bread, precursor to a bagel?
3.27 158.3 Jogged 3.5 miles in the morning; ate a lot. Not logging food. . .4 -

Down Last round was touch but still heading in the right direction. Would like to be at 205 by the end of this one
3/18 207.6
3/19. 208.4 not surprised... out to eat, had a drink, and maybe a few mini eggs. Off to zumba!
3/20 208.4
3/21 209.0 Stress eating...colonoscopy tomorrow... maybe 3+ hours on the toilet tonight will get me back on track!
3/22 208.4
3/23 206.6 Not sure if this will stick. Could just be the results of the cleanse! It would be nice if I could get something nice out of the 2 days of yuckiness.
3/24 207.4 expected
3/25 207.4 my soul needs a whoosh!
3/26 207.0
3/27 208. STILL celebrating my bday, out to eat every day this weekend. But I also worked out both days and hiked yesterday. I will not be discouraged because although I did not lose the weight this round, I know why, and it is in my control.7 -

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.

I didn’t check in yesterday. Almost skipped it today. I am in the throws of a very bad cold that has moved into my eyes. Gross. Dr. thinks it is a bacterial infection, so I am on an antibiotic. Sleep has been terrible.
Have not lost my appetite, Ha!
Enjoying March Madness. A couple of my favorite teams got through round one. Iowa State and Illinois.

Feeling a bit better yesterday so I spent some time digging around in the yard. Also burned a few calories with a walk and watching NCAA and F1 action on TV.

Yesterday…lots of garbage in and no garbage out. (a little computer lingo as metaphor for you there)

This drop despite poor choices yesterday. This is why I weigh every day.
Do you know what is missing in my life? Exercise.

As I write, my Brother-In-Law is undergoing (and I am praying about) open heart surgery to repair a couple heart valves. One of them is a re-repair after a lot of years. I think he got his money’s worth on that one. This all has involved the participation of various barn-yard animals for the valve material.

3/27: Ended this round away from a scale. Thanks for prayers for BIL. The surgery was a success. Now the long recovery for him.

@_JeffreyD_ - so pleased to hear BIL's op is a success, hoping his recovery is straightforward1

@enlightenme3 - share thoughts on the shingles shot? I think I am doing it in May when I get back home. I have been hoping to do it 2 years ago, then COVID and all those vaccinations caused me to put it off. DH and I are both 60.
Sorry @SModa61 I ddn't see your question until now. I've only had my first shot and it was fine. I was a little lethargic and achy the next day, but not like when I got my covid shots and had a slight fever and pretty much in bed for the day. My husband had it a few years ago and it knocked him out for a day or two. However, he had absolutely no reaction to any of his 3 covid vaccinations - so go figure. Everyone has told me that even with severe reactions to the shingles vaccination, it is 1000 times preferable than getting shingles itself.

I’ve had the 2 shingles shots..don’t remember any reaction other than a sore arm.1
