@topathemorning I'm so sorry to hear about what your son's going through. I'm sure that's incredibly stressful for the whole family. Thinking of you.

3/18 173.4 I'm hoping for a whoosh this round to break out of the 170s. But that's just a hope— in terms of goals that are within my control, I'd like to take four forest walks this round, which I'll denote with an *
3/19 174.0 Booo. Okay. Fine.
3/20 * 173.2 Back to my starting weight for this round. I might be eating a bit too few calories lately? Around 1200-1300, which MFP gave me, but that's what I did previously to lose and that time, I was starting off 20 lbs lighter. Not sure if I should try to do some calorie cycling...in other news, got my first forest walk in yesterday!
3/21 *172.3 Did a little walk by the bay yesterday, went over on my sugar limit, but woke up to this nice surprise on the scale! If I can hover around 172 this round, I'll be happy. Closer and closer to the 160s. Which is still miles from where I want to be, but it's so much better than where I started!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

3/21 209.6 Swam, ate a few pieces of chocolate, but overall ate pretty well. Worried about adult son (26) who has headaches & dizziness. MRI suggests either a mass effect in his brain or scattered neurological abnormalities, that don't explain his symptoms, says the ER neurologist. Follow up with neurologist this Thursday, and then a cardiologist. Mystery to be unraveled. At least our choices to lose weight are in our control. I'm keeping my son in my prayers this day, as I choose to eat healthily, moderately & to try to organize my tax prep.

I know I did not eat 10,000 calories over maintenance to gain 3# of fat, so will just wait until it all clears out to see where I am really at. Also last round I was trying to eliminate dairy to see how it affects me and I didn't follow this when I was gone, so starting that again.

In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.12 -

Round 181 ( my 113th for me). Thanks @QuiltingJaine.
Need to knuckle down now and make each round count, DS's wedding is later this spring & I want to feel happy with myself on the day. Aim this round to be lower than the start, but a pound would be nice, concentrate on good food choices & think before I put anything in my mouth!! Also eat only half daily exercise calories back.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 138.8 – 4.69 miles walked yesterday, childminding DGS, did eat more than I should, 2 days showing up on the scales. Getting back in the groove today. Liked the brief taste of success last round!!
3/19 138.8 – 9.95 miles, food could have been a lot better choices, need to keep at it !
3/20 139.2 – 13.76 miles walked, most of exercise calories eaten back, but good choices.
3/21 139.2 – 12.86 miles, a glorious spring day, heard & saw our first lark of spring yesterday, such a beautiful song! Ate back half of exercise calories.
3/22 138.4 – 11.41 miles walked, good choices, less than 10% exercise calories eaten.

3/22 - 151.5 - BigBro totaled my Toyota yesterday. He's okay. Sore, has a concussion. BF may take him to hospital today if it's still bad enough. Stress is through the roof and I've debated calling in sick so I can sleep. At this point, I might as well be sick because I feel so awful.

3/21 - Not near enough water yesterday and I ended up waking up a few times last night to chug water so I'm not sure how accurate this weigh in is. This weekend was busy. Friday I spent running errands and trying to spend time with the kids. Saturday I had to drive them back to meet their mom in Oklahoma which took the entire day for that round trip. Now back to commuting. I do have an interview on Friday, though! Not going to get hopes up too much, but it's a start!

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18 - 145.5 - I had two Dr. appointments yesterday, so my husband and I ate lunch out in between. Then we celebrated some good biopsy reports for my husband along with St. Patrick's Day with some drinks. My weight might go up some more tomorrow, but that is OK. We enjoyed ourselves yesterday.
3/19 - 144.5 - I'm a little surprised. The scale may have been off this morning but I was in a hurry to get to work and didn't mess around with it. My work lunch will be catered today, so I will make good choices and hope the weight stays for tomorrow.

The “boys”, AKA the cats, Harry and Han Solo, are going to get tracked once per round as well. Maybe this way I will not keep losing my data for them
SW: 138.2
Cats: Harry 10 lb 14 oz (down 1.5 oz - bad) Han Solo 11lb 10.5 oz (down .5 oz – good)
2/18 – 138.2 Good day.
2/19 – 137.4 Those quick weight loss kicking in. Tracked another day fully, though choices we not perfect. I adjusted my day as it went on. Worked out acceptably. I did not let a couple bad choices cause more bad choices. Yesterday, walked 7 miles at 7 am.
2/20 – 136.4 More of the quick loss. Fun to see, but I know they are not fat pounds. But hopefully, just that sensation will help with motivation and keeping my focus that I am struggling so much with. Yesterday, walked 6.5 miles at 7 am.
2/21 – 136.2 Yesterday, I did not walk, but went kayaking through the mangroves with my husband. Was quite the adventure, but glad we did it. Apple watch claims that I burned a ton of calories, though I personally think that it was an over estimation. Consequently, I purposely did not aim to use all those “activity” calories. Eating is much improved and trying to maintain that focus until it starts becoming more natural again.
2/22 – 135.6 I did a walk, but only 3.25 miles because I neglected to feed the cats before leaving the house and needed to get back to them. I did throw in 15 minutes of spin later on to try and compensate a little. I am also trying to get myself back using that machine from time to time like last year. The good news is that my husband is starting to use the spin bike as a helpful tool for him. Yay! So much better when a purchase supports more than one person in a home (he does use the elliptical and rower when we are home) Food went well enough. Got a little scattered. Started planned out, but then life happens, but I readjusted and those extra 15 minutes of spin earlier in the day kept me under my calorie goal. Scale liked me this morning. Oh, and yesterday I adjusted Harry and Hans weights in my notes above because the initial notes were carry overs as I forgot to check them in properly at the beginning of the round.

Goal for this round: To weigh less than when the round started.
Previous days3/22 121.4 Did a 5 mile run on the treadmill this morning. I can’t wait for it to be light out again in the mornings, so I don’t always have to treadmill run. I was running in the dark outside earlier this year/late last year but I wasn’t the biggest fan because of the safety factors involved with it. I used the InBody scale at my gym today and learned that I’ve gone from 27.2% percent body fat in January to now 25.3%. So, I was super excited to see those numbers! It just shows that as I slowly lose this weight I’m gaining muscle mass at the same time. So while it’s slower, my strength training and patience is paying off.
3/18 122.8 Legs are sore from my new strength routine this week. Went to the gym this morning to do strength and intervals. I was able to go up in my Romanian deadlift and my reverse lunges this morning, so that was a good feeling and my forearms are slowly getting stronger. Tonight we’ll be getting Thai takeout for my sister in law’s birthday, so I’m sure I’ll have a sodium induced blip up tomorrow and the next few days. We had corned beef and cabbage last night for St. Patrick’s day and it was so good. I measured everything out and was able to stay within my calorie goals yesterday.
3/19 did not post
3/20 123.2 pre workout 121.9 post work out. It’s been a salty weekend, so hopefully that works it way out in a day or two. Did 45 minutes on the elliptical this morning and sat in the sauna for a bit afterwards too.
3/21 122.4 Food was better yesterday and I already have my day planned out for today and it’s looking good. Hoping to see a new low this round. I’m also planning to stick closer to my macros this week and see how that goes. I did my strength routine this morning and it felt great, my hip was even happy with me after my running intervals. I also managed to bump up a bit in weight in almost each exercise. I’m up to 35# dumbbells for my bench press and love feeling so strong afterwards. So, that’s always nice! I’m planning to check my body composition again tomorrow morning with their fancy scale thing at the gym, so I’ll be sharing those numbers tomorrow. Have a good Monday everyone!
Breakfast was good this morning and super filling (oat bran mixed with homemade applesauce, cinnamon, cashews, and some vanilla protein shake), lunch will be a large salad, and dinner is still to be determined.

3/21 247.4 Lots of eating out with friends and family this weekend (today’s our 30th anniversary) so this jump is not unexpected despite making generally good choices. Hitting the water hard and being especially mindful of sodium intake for the next couple of days should help. @topathemorning, keeping you and your son in my prayers.
3/22 245.8 Coming back down. Great workout last night – knee strengthening and cardio. The Pollening has begun here, so outdoor activities will be curtailed for the next few weeks until that calms down. Meals are planned and logged and my water cup is full next to me!

Bit of a surprise. Went out for dinner and drinks last night. Didn't go crazy, but the tortilla chips and guac they got for the table were too tempting! And even shared some Gelato. One meal won't kill me.

Maybe that's the Gelato? Dunno. It's OK though.

3/19 ~ 193.1 - 18,200 and 127. It’s a slow start to the day. It’s the only sunny day this week and I don’t know how to spend it, but it will include coffee and a walk. Hope you all have sunny days today. ☀️
3/20 ~ 192 - 37,000 and 274. Big walk and a long hot bath after. Probably a dehydrated weight this morning. Probably be a low key day today.
3/21 ~ 192.2 - 19,000 and 92. Spent the day shopping and a small walk. SO is headed back home early so will see how the meals go. Super excited that Spring is here although rain is in the forecast for days!!
3/22 ~ 192.5 - 10,600 and 62. Was tired yesterday and forgot my chicken and salad dressing in my lunch. I can do dry salad but I added lots of kale to this one, kale really needs dressing!! Found a protein bar in my desk so I did have calories. SO made it home and too was very tired from his long drive. Ok Tuesday... I got this!! Have a wonderful day all.

Day/Weight/Comment
3/18: 137.3 - Had my shingles shot the day before, but managed to get my workout and walk in despite feeling achy. Very high-end of calories eating, but still within target.
3/19: 137.6 - As I get closer to my goal weight, I have been eating closer to the top end of my calories. I’ll try not going all the way to the top to see if it will finally get me over the line. I have to say that I am enjoying the extra calories though.
3/20: 136.7 - Ate a little bit under calories - not intentionally - but was satiated and full. Normal exercise and sleep. I’ve now lost 35 pounds since when I started back with MFP on Sep 7, 2022 and have 1.7 pounds left to hit goal weight. About a third of my move calories yesterday came from trying on pants in my closet. End up donating a whole bunch, but don’t yet have the confidence to donate ALL my pants that are too big. One big win is that I fit into a pair of jeans that my daughter left behind in her room, and she’s never been above a size 6 in her entire life.
3/21: 136.9 - Good workouts yesterday along with good eating. I cooked up a couple of dishes over the weekend that should last a couple of days. It makes it easier to calorie count when I can just click on a couple of the “recent foods” boxes to log meals.
3/22: 136.9 - Ate to the very tippy top of my range. Normal workouts and sleep.
