I don't recall where you are boarding, if you are heading north on I-5 from Eugene, wave to the west when you drive by Keizer Station. I live about three miles from there.
Have a great vacation!

Hi and welcome to new ladies! I am called RvRita because 5 years ago my DH and I sold everything and moved to an RV….. and I’m loving it! We traveled the US the first year and now have been in Roswell NM volunteers at a state park.
I lost 60 pounds doing low carb high fat (keto) but then CoVid and much family issues helped me gain back 30 of the lost pounds. I’m getting back to it though as my BP has been rising along with the weight.
I’ve been on this chat group (only one I use) for many many years and love these ladies as if we all met and are best friends. I did meet 1 in person and did FaceTime with another. It makes each person much more real when that happens. I’ve read books by some in our group which also makes the authors more present to me.
As been posted before, we are a large group so read, post, and jump in whenever you feel comfortable.

Beth - You have a real talent and, anyway, art is good for you. Make time for it. Time for you.
Listening to a podcast on healthy eating. Greens in your diet reduce inflammation. Luckily, I love greens.
Tonight is roasted Mediterranean vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, red pepper, onions, garlic, tomatoes) with feta. I make a side dip of yoghurt, tahini, lemon juice and garlic.
Yum.

Well I think Athena had a wonderful day, with both her parents, playing at the park, eating cake and busting a pinata'. 💖
Here's all the pics in a spoiler:Son sent me a video thanking me for my present. That was sweet.
I'm glad that she enjoys the simple things, and not extravagant parties etc.

Rebecca-I LOVE Athena's t-shirt and that expression in the first photo. Will have to remember that shirt when my great-nephew gets there!
Welcome to the new people!
It's a beautiful day here today. Had my coffee out on the deck. Have some work to do today, as I'm volunteering for a homeless outreach event tomorrow and then going to a lacrosse game with a friend. No time for work or chores.
Heading out of town for a few days next week too. For someone who rarely has anything on the calendar, I sure am busy the next few weeks.
It's full on wildfire season. We will be keeping our eyes peeled and noses sniffing for the next several months. Need to turn up the watering on the canyon. There is a large-ish fire in Laguna Niguel (California) that already destroyed 20 homes.
Thought I was going to have guests this weekend, but they cancelled. I got my house picked up and a lot of laundry done for the occasion. If I never had people over, the house would never get cleaned. Next scheduled cleaning is in July, when my brother visits for a while.
Have a wonderful day!

For anyone interested, here is a web study on Alzheimer Disease (Alzheimer Prevention Trials). I just signed up for it and took my first cognitive test. It took about 10 minutes. Free. You have to be over 50.

Oh no! My horseback riding instructor was exposed to Covid. She cancelled the lesson. Hope she doesn't get it.

Heather - When we take our car for service it is 25+ miles to get there. I sometimes have to wait quite a while for the work to be done. The service needed this time is likely to take a day or two.
The challenge is getting there and back. They may have a loaner car. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good way to get the car when it is done.
Katla - did you get this resolved? I recently discovered our local bus/transit system that once only shuttled people between a couple neighboring large towns has added a sort of "taxi" service using cars/vans.
This will be ideal for me if I have to take my car in for repairs/service that might take a day or two. Only hitch is a person needs to schedule it the day before. Since my DH no longer drives, I hate to impose on neighbors for something like this that isn't an emergency, though my walking partner would be glad to help me out in a pinch. (She's over her covid, still a little short of breath but she was anyhow. We got a good walk in this morning before the rain hit.)
I think it's only a few dollars per trip. Not bad! Our rural community isn't into "Uber" yet, and many seniors don't have smartphones or the app anyhow.
I happened onto this info when they had an ad on Facebook. Had I not been on that day, I would have missed it.
Might be something worth checking into. Hope you get something worked out.

Lisa: From your description, I guess I’m a bit of a princess (or maybe a queen bee 🐝) I do not like to get wet or dirty unnecessarily.
Rebecca: 😱 How did Athena get to be three so quickly!!! 🥰 the T-shirt.
DH and I had a Date morning at a local beauty spot where there are several lovely walks. We had coffee and cake, and then walked through a bluebell wood, and along the lake shore. I will post some photos later when I get access to DH’s tablet. (MFP is still being a pain re posting photos on my phone on the app.)
I love these outings as DH usually seems more relaxed and often opens up a little more than usual.

Worked then went to Aldi (the prices! They’re no longer the cheapest. $2.99 for a dozen eggs!!!) Soup kitchen tomorrow.
You know, I’m really enjoying the work. I can (to a certain extent) make my own hours. If I go in early, that’s OK, a bit later is OK, too. Just 6 miles from my house, only 3-4 hours/day. Works for me. I’m not looking for a whole lot, and this is just enough. The biggest pressure is “did I remember to rinse the lettuce?” I have no desire to be on a register – BTDT. Same with making a sandwich.
Cassie – welcome! Apologies to anyone I’ve missed. Welcome everyone! Echoing what Lisa said. She has such a great way with words
Heather – great picture
M – do they give you training as to what you can and can’t ask in an interview?
Sue – You’ve HEARD of Doe Run???? That’s amazing! When we drove thru the kids were asking “what’s that building”. We had to explain what an outhouse was….lol
Rebecca – happy birthday to Princess Athena. Boy, she’s growing up so fast. Seems like just yesterday that she was born. Love how she enjoyed her cake!
Speaking of birth, I was talking to this guy at work today and he mentioned that he was born in ‘74. That’s a year after I graduated high school! Talk about making you feel old. He was saying how his mother was born in ‘54. That’s one year before I was born! I know that he didn’t mean to make me feel bad. I just told him “well, I can remember the 60’s”
Tina CA – stay safe
Anne DE – hoping for the best for your riding instructor
As promised HERE’S SMURFETTE!!! And my alligator outside

Michele: the panel has agreed on 5 questions relating to the selection criteria.
The questions are given to the interviewees 10 minutes before the interview so they can jot down some notes ... and then we get them to talk about their answers.
That's how interviews are done here.

Well I am closer to 50 than 40, or even 45, so hi there 🙂 I am new to MFP, was using SparkPeople before it was shut down last year, tried a different app since then for awhile, but just can't seem to get into it. Hoping MFP helps me more! I look forward to chatting with some of you as well as giving mutual support and friendship!2

Karen - I couldn't resist taking the Alzheimer's test/study, and surely I can only go up from there... Then again, I never did like tests you can't study for.
In all reality, I know my cognition has changed in the last couple years quite sharply. I struggle with tip-of-the-tongue syndrome a lot, and it's incredibly frustrating. I have always finished everyone else's sentences when they're searching for a word (I know, incredibly annoying), and now I cannot finish my own. Not every sentence, not even every day, but it's a perceptible change. I sincerely hope it's one of the medications.
According to our thermometer, 105 degrees in the full sun, but according to the weather critters, only 90 degrees. I think they're thermometer is in the shade.
Corey's cooking burgers for dinner... smells wonderful!
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa
Edit to add: I did mow in the end, and then a nap jumped all over me and I was out like a light for two hours. Good gravy, I love retirement!

My son had to work on Mother’s Day and every day since so he took me to dinner tonight. I had nachos then we went for ice cream. I am liking not having to figure out points and just tracking calories so far.
My boy is 18 and will be going off to college this fall so I know these times are even more precious. I enjoyed talking with him and spending that time just me and him. The hubs stayed home he said he wanted to let me have that time with just Lucas.8 -

HI all! I am looking for some support and an accountability connection. I have been off of MFP for awhile, after a long term where I lost a lot of weight and was so close to my goal, I fell off the wagon. Since falling I put back 30 pounds. I still exercise regularly, but my food intake has gone off the charts. Would like to give and get support from friends!3

M – say in their answers you then have a question, can you ask it?
Saltlife – welcome! Which other app were you using? I tried a few at one point but came back here. One thing I did find was that MFP seemed to have the most extensive database. And the people on this forum are wonderful.
Sue – what college is your son going to? What will he be majoring in?
Hhof – welcome!
I truly find the ceramics to be very relaxing.

Michele he is going to southeast Missouri State majoring in international business. He says he is most likely going to be moving out of state after so I guess I will be moving wherever he goes. 😜1 -

We can prompt a little bit if necessary if they have missed a key point in the question or haven't developed it well.
We prefer the interviewee to cover it all without prompting but one prompt per question isn't too bad.
It's not good if we feel like we're trying to drag an answer out of them.

Karen and Lisa- I too took the assessment. My grandmother was one of 8 sisters. & of the sisters all died after Alzheimer took over. My Aunt is now suffering with it. So far my mom isn't showing any signs that I am aware of other than birthdays...but I don't live near her. I figure the assessment can't hurt anything. Losing things, peoples names, staying on task, planning have all become more difficult. I have never been good on birthdays and anniversaries.
Has been a good day, but it is sleepy time.
Welcome to the new ladies!
Hugs!
Laughter!
Support!
