Day 43…..06/21…..202.2…..(Trend weight 204.4) No water pill yesterday so I am happy to see such a nice overnight drop after a day of such restriction. It was a very good day on the diet front, but lousy on the movement front. Today I travel to finish the root canal (if tooth is not cracked down inside). It is expected to hit 100 degrees today, very unusual for northern Michigan. Thank God I will be out of town where there will be A/C in the drs office, the stores, the restaurant and in my car. I am taking my son to a steak house which is a real treat for us. Nothing like that around home! I will try to order something small but I’m not gonna lie, I know I will enjoy the sides. I will not be bring donuts home! The city I go to has the best…… oh, never mind!
Day 44…..06/22…..205.2…..(Trend weight 204.5) WTH? 3 pounds overnight? Can’t be! I traveled yesterday and had my root canal completed by an endodentist. It feels so much better. I did eat one meal out but I thought it was very reasonable at the steak house. I even brought part of it home for son’s lunch today. The only contributing factors I can think of is that I have not taken the prescribed water pill for the two days prior, and I did not get any sleep last night (3 hours). I know my calories and carbs were over, but that is ridiculous. Today will be a very careful day.

I feel you. I had a restaurant meal out myself. It is what it is.
I am surprised that you could eat after the last couple of trips to the dentist with freezing in your mouth though.
I hope that your tooth is now fixed.
Part of the restaurant thing is probably high salt, which causes our bodies to blow up. Lots of fat in restaurant food too.
Mine was that it was Mexican, so cheese, and we all know that cheese is very fattening. I ate it over 2 days.2 -

Ideal healthy body weight for my stats is 112. Many rounds away from that, and quite honestly I would be happy to get to 118 some day.
I would really like to lose 7 pounds this round.
I lost 1.8 pounds the last 100, which was a departure from gaining in the last 4 of them.

Day 1: Tues, 5/10: 216.5 No exercise. 1532 cal (-180 red), 66 net carbs, 1.5 glass wine. DH & I tested positive on Tuesday 5/3 for COVID19. We quarantined per CDC for 5 days. I was asymptomatic except for a headache the first day and then tested negative for Covid on Monday 5/9 so I’ve been cleared. DH still has flu like symptoms and tested positive on Mon. We are using the CUE system which is a PCR like test that DH’s company provided employees.
Day 2: Wed, 5/11: 216.4 Short walk .6 miles. 1725 cal (-346 red), 45 net carbs, 2 glass wine.
Day 3: Thurs, 5/12: 216.4 No exercise. Played with my 4 month old granddaughter instead 1631 cal (-330 red), 107 net carbs, 2 glass wine. Lunch at Mexican restaurant with DIL where we split fajitas making salads and neither of us at the rice, beans or tortillas. But of course we ate chips! Happy that the scale did not blow up on that minor splurge.
Day 4: Fri, 5/13: 218.4 Cancelled our trip. DH still has congestion and fatigue from his bout of COVID. My students from ESL class gave me a dozen beautiful roses No exercise. 1839 cal ( -507), 126 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Blew my focus on healthy eating … sabotaging myself with fried okra & cornbread for lunch and pizza at dinner! What am I thinking!
Day 5: Sat, 5/14: 217.3 Walk 3.2 miles. Why can’t I get back into the groove. I know my knee hurts but that is not excuse for skipping my strength class! 1562 cal (-73 green), 93 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Not bad given that DH & I picked up lunch and took it over to our daughter today to check on her … she had the pregnancy blues. Made up for it with salmon with spinach & white beans easy light dinner.

Did okay until DH asked for me to cook a dessert and I made something I liked too. Sent home most of the cupcakes with my kids after dinner. Thought about not completing my journal but then I didn’t want to get into bad habits so reporting in the mess of a day!

Success with picking back up on my Strong & Fit classes again but my walking is still a struggle in the heat. My knee feels a little better and I think the lunges and squats are helping. However, I blew off journaling every bite because I was eating everything. That has to stop! Starting to journal again this morning.

Day 20: Sun, 5/29: DNW @ fishing camp 🎣 with my sister cleaning out mom’s house since she has an offer … mom will move into my smaller house next door if the sell goes through. Tons of stuff there as she loved shopping garage sales and it was my grandfathers before. The house has been in the family since 1954 and it grew organically with many additions and remodels over the years.
Managing my mother’s expectations and the entire situation has been really challenging and I’ve totally derailed on my weight loss journey losing all focus on myself.

Day 31: Thurs, 6/9: 219.0 Walked .8 miles. My normal 3 mile walk was cut short by a call from my sister. She had an allergic reaction to the dye in her annual CT scan. So I turned around hurried home and picked her up. She came to my house to rest in bed till noon then felt better but still had a headache. She is the only one of our family that still has the symptoms (fatigue, drainage down the throat, etc) from Covid well over a month ago. She is also the one in the poorest health having had stage 4 breast cancer 15 years ago. She is fine but went to bed still with the headache last night.
Then after lunch my 37 weeks pregnant daughter calls. She lost her mucus plug with lots of blood, scared her, went home from work and called the doctor. So she too was resting with her feet up.
DH & I babysat my granddaughter at their house while the parents had a movie & sushi date night
More calls and setting up viewings of my mom’s home.
Overall I’m not sure where the day went but I accomplished nothing on my todo list! I also didn’t snack!

Day 34: Sun, 6/12: 220.1 Walked 4 miles. Wrong direction! Do NOT like seeing that number. When am I going to start focusing on me? Problem last few nights … Asleep before 10pm but I’m up and totally awake around 3-4 which is not healthy for me. So many things running through my mind that I have no control over … selling my mom’s house, my daughter is due any day, caring for my son’s dogs this weekend. At least I did get out and walk the dogs! Caught up the laundry, grocery shopped, menu planned. Today I’ll focus on me myself and I.
Day 35: Mon, 6/13: 219.0 Walked 3 miles. Much of what I did today was again for the sell of my mom’s home following up with the buyer and their questions after the inspection on Friday. BUT I did walk, wash my hair, file my nails, color a mosaic mandala, read and cooked 3 new meals (breakfast lunch & dinner). Baby steps focusing on me.
Day 36: Tues, 6/14: 219.2 Walked 3.2 miles. WAY TOO MUCH snacking through stress today. Attended morning spanish class, afternoon sketching class (I’m definitely the amateur!), evening spanish assessment for another M & W evening class with DH, many calls and scheduling for my mom’s house, lots of interruptions while in classes.
ALSO my daughter started having minor contractions but no baby movement … they went to the hospital to make sure the baby was okay and were sent home to continue the early labor after finding the baby’s strong heartbeat and the monitor recognizing more contractions that my daughter was feeling. She thought they were 10 min apart but they were 6 min apart, 2cc dilated, 80% effaced. Exciting that their baby due July 1 with a scheduled inducement for June 23 will likely be earlier than expected. Good news because they are having what the doctor predicts as a big baby.
Day 37: Wed, 6/15: 220.4 Strength Training Class 1 hr. I’m on watch for grand baby #2! DD has had what the hospital Monday evening called labor contractions (not Braxton Hicks) regularly about 6 min apart but not long enough or strong enough to keep her there. So yesterday she decided not to go into work and joined me in visiting my granddaughter and DIL. We helped out since my son is out of town this week working. My DIL asked if I could babysit so she could go grocery shopping and prep cook for her sister’s bachelorette party this weekend. It was a fun day. Did not stay into the evening like I originally planned since DD wanted to go home and rest. But all in all I ended up with 2 restaurant meals and snacks and the scale shows that I’m not on point and focused.

Day 41: Sun, 6/19: 219.2 Walked 1.5 miles but my son’s dog laid down at least 2x because he is not use to walking. 6mo old very large Doberman. DH did the normal 3 mile walk with our dog.
Day 42: Mon, 6/20: 219.7 Walked 1 mile with my son’s dog … this is very challenging. In addition, he is pulling up my plants in the back yard!!! Looks like my son will not be out of the hospital until mid week and has follow up with surgeon on Friday. Hopefully he is able to fly home this weekend and then we’ll need to return his dog to Austin.
Day 43: Tues, 6/21: 219.6 Walked 1 mile with my son’s dog. Skipped all my daytime Monday leisure classes and book club that evening so that I could concentrate on the sell of mom's house. Also cancelled my plans to study Spanish on Mon & Wed evenings this summer. I had taken too much on with the new grandbaby, DH's retirement, Mom's sell of her home and her moving into my camp house. Renegotiated on the owner financing once again. Basically changed Mom's address online for everything except doctors and pharmacy which she will handle! Rural area and since I didn't have a mailbox for the camp house ... got that too taken care of.

Day 45: Thurs, 6/23: 219.1 No exercise. A little less stressful. When on the phone with DD … DH came in with a can of pumpkin wanting me to bake pumpkin cookies. Of course this was just the distraction I needed! Not the calories LOL Mom is having a moving sale and I'm not sure what all she is getting rid of or keeping. She is being unreasonable about a number of things but then I can't be down there since I need to be here to help my daughter. My sister is heading down to help mom and plans to stay through the closing. Oh and I designed a budget and plan for setting up new Fidelity account for mom so that we could ensure she doesn't burn through the monthly income from the owner financing since she never saves and this was to be her savings for moving to Houston and getting an apartment or assisted living in a few years. Made sure she has more income now than earlier for monthly use so she can travel with a friend.

Part of the restaurant thing is probably high salt, which causes our bodies to blow up. Lots of fat in restaurant food too.
Mine was that it was Mexican, so cheese, and we all know that cheese is very fattening. I ate it over 2 days.
@dawbgethealthy They were able to complete the root canal. I was numb for hours after so we shopped first and waited to eat. My son went with me, and like me (and everyone in my entire county) he looked very forward to a good restaurant meal, which, as you know, is a treat to folks from small towns like us. I took half mine home but had no problem chewing on the other side. I am sure it was loaded with sodium but doctor and blood work says I am usually too low on sodium so I really don't worry about that too much, except that (with the heart not pumping properly) it is hard for me to lose the water retention without that water pill. My body is a crazy mixed up mess right now for sure! My tests and monitors are next Mon - Wed. But I don't see the cardiologist until July 12th I think for answers. Unfortunately, I have to travel to see him, but he travels to see me too. Even going that far away, the office is a satellite office and I think they are only there once or twice per week. Why do I live here again???? Oh, that's right, my children are settled here now. Ugh!2 -

It was a very good day on the diet front, but lousy on the movement front. Today I travel to finish the root canal (if tooth is not cracked down inside). It is expected to hit 100 degrees today, very unusual for northern Michigan. Thank God I will be out of town where there will be A/C in the drs office, the stores, the restaurant and in my car. I am taking my son to a steak house which is a real treat for us. Nothing like that around home! I will try to order something small but I’m not gonna lie, I know I will enjoy the sides. I will not be bring donuts home! The city I go to has the best…… oh, never mind!
Day 44…..06/22…..205.2…..(Trend weight 204.5) WTH? 3 pounds overnight? Can’t be! I traveled yesterday and had my root canal completed by an endodentist. It feels so much better. I did eat one meal out but I thought it was very reasonable at the steak house. I even brought part of it home for son’s lunch today. The only contributing factors I can think of is that I have not taken the prescribed water pill for the two days prior, and I did not get any sleep last night (3 hours). I know my calories and carbs were over, but that is ridiculous. Today will be a very careful day.

I carefully chose a snack but it did put me over calorie and carb count and more into the maint. Range. I did a nice 24 minute workout session with my son last night dancing to some great classic songs. I did take my water pill yesterday so I am wondering about the puff-up yesterday (no pill day before) and the drop today (after pill yesterday). It sure is hard to track what is really going on with that in the mix. I will just have to trust the process that if I am complying then I am progressing on this journey. And I’ll still watch all the numbers from food, to exercise, to weight. It just will not be an exact science at this point. Watching my trend weight will help too. Come on Onderland!

I did eat one meal out but I thought it was very reasonable at the steak house. I even brought part of it home for son’s lunch today. The only contributing factors I can think of is that I have not taken the prescribed water pill for the two days prior, and I did not get any sleep last night (3 hours). I know my calories and carbs were over, but that is ridiculous. Today will be a very careful day.

I carefully chose a snack but it did put me over calorie and carb count and more into the maint. Range. I did a nice 24 minute workout session with my son last night dancing to some great classic songs. I did take my water pill yesterday so I am wondering about the puff-up yesterday (no pill day before) and the drop today (after pill yesterday). It sure is hard to track what is really going on with that in the mix. I will just have to trust the process that if I am complying then I am progressing on this journey. And I’ll still watch all the numbers from food, to exercise, to weight. It just will not be an exact science at this point. Watching my trend weight will help too. Come on Onderland!

Today they work outside on the little roof over it and more supports. The drywall inside is tore all to haites, but they are trying to work on projects that involve the outdoors on non-rainy days. So drywall will be some other day. In a week or two maybe. The window already looks lovely, will help keep the birds from bamming into the former picture window that was there because of the grids, and will bring much needed air as it has two windows and the other window had zero. Triple win!

Day 44…..06/22…..205.2…..(Trend weight 204.5) WTH? 3 pounds overnight? Can’t be! I traveled yesterday and had my root canal completed by an endodentist. It feels so much better. I did eat one meal out but I thought it was very reasonable at the steak house. I even brought part of it home for son’s lunch today. The only contributing factors I can think of is that I have not taken the prescribed water pill for the two days prior, and I did not get any sleep last night (3 hours). I know my calories and carbs were over, but that is ridiculous. Today will be a very careful day.
Day 45…..06/23…..203.0…..(Trend weight 204.3) Counted the calories and carbs all day but ended up with a shaky glucose drop around 7:00 pm. I carefully chose a snack but it did put me over calorie and carb count and more into the maint. Range. I did a nice 24 minute workout session with my son last night dancing to some great classic songs. I did take my water pill yesterday so I am wondering about the puff-up yesterday (no pill day before) and the drop today (after pill yesterday). It sure is hard to track what is really going on with that in the mix. I will just have to trust the process that if I am complying then I am progressing on this journey. And I’ll still watch all the numbers from food, to exercise, to weight. It just will not be an exact science at this point. Watching my trend weight will help too. Come on Onderland!
Day 46…..06/24…..203.2…..(Trend weight 203.2) A small fluctuation I’m sure. I like that my trend weight is still going down. My dining room bay window went in yesterday. Today they work outside on the little roof over it and more supports. The drywall inside is tore all to Haites, but they are trying to work on projects that involve the outdoors on non-rainy days. So drywall will be some other day. In a week or two maybe. The window already looks lovely. It will help keep the birds from bamming into the window now because this one has grids, and will bring much needed air into the room as it has two windows and the other window had zero. Triple win!

I am Dawn. 61yrs old, 5'2"
Ideal healthy body weight for my stats is 112. Many rounds away from that, and quite honestly I would be happy to get to 118 some day.
I would really like to lose 7 pounds this round.
I lost 1.8 pounds the last 100, which was a departure from gaining in the last 4 of them.
1st Week Goal Weight: 135.0

Excess calories burned (in the green): Shorter week, 1874, which only averages to 372.8 per day, less than usual
2nd Week Goal Weight: 135.0 - seems ambitious.
2nd Week Actual Weight: No idea, wonky scale on holiday with me read 48 pounds
Excess calories burned (in the green): 5167 - very happy with that.
3rd Week Goal Weight: N/A
3rd Week Actual Weight: 138.3 - had Ribs this week
Excess calories burned (in the green): 3976. Even after having a RED from Ribs, I still averaged 568 per day overall.
4th Week Goal Weight: 136.1
4th Week Actual Weight: 138.5
Excess calories burned (in the green): 3568 - Not as much as usual, and it is reflected in my weight.
5th Week Goal Weight: 135.0 until I hit it
5th Week Actual Weight: 139.4 - lunch out contributed to this gain.

Excess calories burned (in the green): 5751 - That averaged out to 821.5 per day - a few very heavy calorie burn days toiling in the yard.
Day 41: Sun, 6/19: - 138.1 - I will be going out to dinner tomorrow night so am going to try to mitigate that with low calories and lots of activity today and tomorrow.
Day 42: Mon, 6/20: Somehow lost the post from that day.
Day 43: Tues, 6/21: 139.7 - Expected after dinner out. It is rare that I do that, but all good, I am okay with the gain.
Day 44: Wed, 6/22: 139.0 - Planning a very "clean" eating day. Hoping to get some workouts in here and there while at work when there are no customers : - )
Day 45: Thurs, 6/23: 138.8 - Hoping to at least pull out a week where I didn't gain. 0.7 left to drop to achieve that. Lunch out in week 5 and dinner out in week 7 sure has derailed me.
Day 46: Fri, 6/24: 137.8 - Pretty sure that I was 138.1 yesterday, might have made a typo. It doesn't matter, a drop on the scale always motivates me. Working out of town today and had planned on being a bit indulgent when finally getting home. I will rethink that.

-Our friends renewing their vows after 25 years at a cute Elvis chapel

I tracked my calories as best I could and at max I believe I likely gained 2 pounds but the retention on this trip was insane. It was much hotter there than I'm used to, and it's my time of the month, and the plane always makes me puffy.
So, we'll see how long it takes to work myself back down to below 165.

I tracked my calories as best I could and at max I believe I likely gained 2 pounds but the retention on this trip was insane. It was much hotter there than I'm used to, and it's my time of the month, and the plane always makes me puffy.
So, we'll see how long it takes to work myself back down to below 165.

My backsplash tile, my bullnose choice, my corian countertop sample (small square), my walls, my trim. Of course I will pop my color in my accessories. Backsplash tile chosen because it has the taupe of the walls, the dark brown of the floor, and the glints of the stainless steel from sink and appliances. Colors look washed out in the photo but in person it is really pretty I think.

I always weigh more after air travel or long car rides. I think the water retention is real and the body will shed in a couple of days for any real gain to be seen. Great job tracking what you could!2
