A bit of a struggle, just reminded myself how good I am going to feel in the morning. Took 2 cans of La Cruix sparkling water to get me through it, plus a couple of snacks. 😏
@looneycatblue It helps me if I pour my sparkling water into a fancy glass at dinner.5 -

That is a good idea, but I just wanted to down them quickly from the cans... afraid that if I did put it in a nice glass, out of habit I would want to pour some TQ over the ice first!5 -
1st week- end of May beginning of June 5AF and 2A- best week I've had in a long time!
2nd week 4AF and 3A - woot!
Week three- 3AF and 4A
4th week- 4 AF and 3A.
Week 5 3 AF so far- tonight enjoying a Recess. If you've never tried Recess, it's like La Croix with a bit of hemp extract for relaxation.5 -
@looneycatblue Thanks again for the Scott Pinyard video. I totally get (and aspire to) the liberation concept. I think it takes a little more than self-compassion and a period of abstinence to get there, though. I think I have a ton of self-compassion (don't carry a bunch of shame), and I have had several AF Lents (6 weeks) through the years, and that hasn't automagically landed me in the liberation zone. I am willing to give assent to the notion that they are necessary (if not sufficient) conditions for liberation. Compared to a rule-oriented approach, it certainly seems like it would take much less cognitive energy. Good stuff to think about, anyway.6

I'm Dawn
I joined this thread in November 2018. I had my first AF day soon thereafter. It was hard! I stayed with one AF day per week for awhile and then gradually increased that.
I will continue on with what has been attainable for me, 16-20 AF days per month. So trying to keep it to 3A days per week or less.
I am drinking less for weight loss. 20 more pounds to shed still.
Diary Style
Friday June 24 - 2 drinks. I almost do the drunkorexic thing sometimes. I definitely do not eat healthy food when I have alcohol. I substitute calories for drinks and badder things. Planned drinks Saturday afternoon
Saturday June 25 - Drinks throughout the afternoon and evening. Nice and hot here, and I got lots done in the yard (although it looks like I barely made a dent. Sunday will be another to work in the yard all day, planning AF
Sunday June 26 - AF - Always happy to hit my 16 : - ) No plan for drinks days this week as yet other than the weekend. Without a plan I don't always do as well, so I will think about that.
Monday June 27 - AF - Got some good hours in the garden after work
Tuesday June 28 - 2 drinks - stress induced which I really try not to do, but it worked to relax me. Going to try to stay AF now until the weekend.

Hi All - I joined this thread a little late, starting June 20. I'm drinking less for weight loss. Goal: 3A days per week, a glass of water between drinks when drinking more than one, and no more than 3 drinks on a high activity day. I've been stuck at the same weight for a while now and want to lose 15 lbs.
Week 2
Monday June 27 - AF
Tuesday June 28 - AF - Sticking to plan so far but traveling for a few days, which will be a challenge.
Rolling total: 5AF out of 9 days5 -
Hello to everyone
Last night I was really tempted to have a whiskey and water. But I stuck to my diet tonic water and a little tincture. The remodel is moving along. But by the time I get my water back on in my kitchen will be a celebration day. Just saying
Cabinetry should be done today, appliances delivered tomorrow and hopefully installed. Counter top put in next Wednesday. Water back on and sink and dishwasher functioning --goal July 11th.
Master bath demo July 4th (yes the 4th) Measure for shower enclosure July 5th. New Master bath assembled July 21st, approximately. Demo public bathroom and repeat.
Now all this should happen baring any snafu's
If we survive the sock family is going on vacation and I am slipping in a glass of wine or two6 -

Late to the party here - guilty of over-working (wish I was invited to a party).....
Everyone is doing so good! We're about to dive into July...it's the perfect time to look to your future and challenge it and yourself...:)
This month my accomplishments have been to visit @dawnbgethealthy, a lovely kind spirited person, and have myself a reset from work to get my "mojo" back in order, I joined the weigh-in challenge and like it since now I've dropped a few lbs., thankfully I re-started weights and running, and I have developed greater awareness of my consumption, and I've tried to stick to max 2 drinks most days (which I did most of the time on vacation), anyways, time to kick it up a notch for me, thanks to you all for keeping me progressing forward!
If anyone is interested in doing a 30 or 60 day no drinks challenge after July 4, let me know!

June accountability:
21AF DAYS
9 A DAYS
Broke my NO consecutive days rule one week by having one alcohol drink, 3 days in a row 🤬
That has not happened in a long time.
@lmlmrn send your sock family here for their vacation 🤪 I will put them to good use.
See ya over on July thread.

Last night I was back home and really fighting emotions as well as stress due to trying to finish reviewing the contracts with my mother and sister who are going to the closing Thursday morning. I'm the one that negotiated and also dealt with the buyer, his real estate agent, lawyers and title company. So trying to catch them up remotely while they finished cleaning out the house down there.
Unfortunately we had more wine bottles in the rack and I was the one that opened the 2nd bottle. DH and I each had 1 glass from the 2nd bottle and then recorked it for another day. So yep I had 3 glasses and broke my no more than 2 nights in a row target.4 -

Me, me & me! Doing it with someone might encourage me to stick with it!I would like to try a 30 day challenge, July 5th - Aug 4th. This would be perfect timing for me as we have a group camping trip planed for Aug 6th - 9th.
