Well finished reading my journal journals, I was running on very little sleep at that time, I don’t know how I survived. I’m still surprised that i never tested positive after being with Lenny. I guess it just not my time to go7

Good morning, afternoon or evening, y'all...
Sending out all the good wishes I have for all of y'all, and for your family members or four-footed furballs that hurt or are ill. Hope with all my heart that healing is swift and painless for everyone.
My beloved DH's back is hurting so bad he can barely move or walk, and yet he went to work anyway. I love him, but that male attitude to pain just makes me want to smack him. I probably would if his back wasn't hurting. This is why married men live longer than single men--but I refuse to nag him. A) It does no good and indeed, makes him more likely to balk at going to a doc. I can't say what I want to say, either, which starts with "Don't be stupid, go to the doctor..."
Raining again (4th out of 5 days this week). Flood warnings everywhere, and thunderstorm warnings for another four hours. Good day to stay inside. Right now, it is just dumping water, but more lightning and rain are on the way - this storm is heading southeast, so we're right in the bad bit for the next hour or two. No worries - we live on the side of a hill in the Ozark mountain foothills, so we get wet, but it runs off quickly. We're also 300 feet higher than flood stage.
Heather - I'm with your DDIL. If got unhappy, I left. This led to 25 jobs in the last 34 years, and prior to entering the military, I had at least a dozen between ages 14 and 18. My memory fails me as to how long I was working for which employers prior to going into the Air Force, but I worked for a sewing factory, for the school district as an assistant to the director of operations, worked at a Denny's in Albuquerque and a barbecue restaurant, Dairy Queen, McDonald's and Burger King in Nacogdoches, Texas. Also traveled with the carnival, and babysat the joints, like the quarter drop and such. Worked with my mother cleaning construction sites and worked with her at the plant farm. In all reality, I was inching up on at least 50 jobs before I "retired" two years ago. Also started three different businesses, and sold one to a partner. I was never fired--I made the decision to leave. Now sometimes they said they were firing me right then, but it was always after I said "I quit," so I disregarded those.
All those things, plus all the other decisions, led me here. I like it here.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa6 -

DH’s doctor wants him to go to the hospital to get a photo of his heart. I expect we will try to avoid morning rush & I have my fingers crossed for nothing worrisome.3

Katla--I had to have an ultrasound of my heart last month. It took about an hour, but doctor said he got very good pictures and I am good for another year. I have a value that closes just behind the other.
Pip--Sending prayers for Yogi.
Tracey--Sorry that your job has gotten to be stressful. I came in this morning and one of my night girls gave notice. She has not been happy for awhile and so I am not surprised. Just have another girl going to be out most the month of August for surgery. Here comes the overtime. I have got the paperwork started to replace her and pray someone is hired fast. But nights are not easy. One day at a time. I start a week vacation when I get off today. We have plans to go to Billings, MT for a motorcycle rally, but I got notice to be a court Monday morning for jury duty. See what happens there as I told them from the start we had these plans and paid for.

Harley and I are sending wags and wishes, Pip!
Men's shoes fit SO MUCH BETTER for my wide feet and they tend to be cheaper a lot of places. BONUS!
Last day of school for the kiddos yesterday so the grands are here today, mon, tues until their summer program starts. I've missed them. But, alas... I still have today to work, so I'm off!
Carla, in MN4 -
I lost 1.4 pounds last week. Yay! Plus I did my yoga and fast marching. Yay!
Tracey that video would not play for me. But thanks for thinking of me!
Well my uncle, who is 94 with heart trouble, is back in the hospital. He is getting a pacemaker this afternoon.

Rita--Hope you figure it out and feel better soon.
Katla--Hope you can get the appointment for DH to have his heart picture. My DH is going to the doctor this afternoon, it's his 6 month followup, but going to have them check him since his fall yesterday. Last night he said his back, knee and hand was hurting.
Sounds like we could be in for another night of storms. So far we have been lucky and the worst part has gone around us.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE
Thanks Vicki. I think it is a combination of the heat, sinus and bowel issues. Sinus will be dealt with by surgery soon. Bowel issues are ongoing and heat, well can’t do anything about that.
Allie, I had a shi-tzu that had dementia. He would get up and stare at the wall. He didn’t know where he was. He would get lost in the camper! Poor thing ended up losing control of his bowels then had a seizure. Had to put him down at that point. So sad, I cried for days. He was 13 years old.

I envy all who have a dog. Our sweet old dog, Schooner, passed away last fall, just inside our front door. We were beside him when he passed away. We still miss him. We hope to find another dog when the time is right. ❤️4

Pip: Hope Yogi recovers quickly.
Spent lots of time in the garden today clearing out our spring planters ready for summer display. I have loads of bulbs drying out in the summerhouse. Almost forgot about my Parchment Craft Group after lunch.
Weather has been quite warm with short, heavy downpours, not that it made much difference to the very dry soil. We are deciding what we want to put into the planters for summer.
🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating.
Virtual (((hugs))) and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them. Especially those who have poorly family.

Managed to get a post out on Instagram for pre-publicity. My book is more or less finished, but I will give it one more read through. I won't publish it until I get back from the cruise. Don't want to feel rushed.
My elder son has started a podcast on YouTube called 'Food Glue'. He sent me the link. I got a couple of heads up during the two episodes, but he did not credit me with sparking his interest in food. Grrrrrr! You can listen if you are interested.
Rang my friend L this afternoon. She's still deep in mourning, but her hip seems to be improving. Tired and weepy, and not eating properly. It's hard.
I think I might have a UTI. Hope I'm wrong. I'm afraid I had some French cider this evening, to accompany the dinner of black pudding and fried apples. It was all heavenly, but I hope the UTI hasn't been made worse.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx6 -
Rita- yes Homer is 16 and ,Toms moms dog that I had to take to the vet years ago was a shih-tzu same thing. Covered in fleas after my MIL died ,my BIL couldnt care less my FIL wasnt in any condition to take care of the dog and so I ended up the day that Tracy,Kyle and Taliah moved out to Ohio i saw them off then had to drive an hour and take that poor dog to be put down.. my poor FIL was in tears..
We kept her ashes at the house and when my FIL passed we buried them with him as was his wish.
Tom wants all of the tins of the cremated pups buried with him lol4 -

Heather ~ I looked for Food Glue on Youtube but didn't see it.
For the last two days I have vacuumed all the floors, mopped, and cleaned the wood floors in the den with Pledge. This entailed moving all the furniture around and now my back is feeling it. Earlier, I started cleaning the wooden cabinets in the kitchen but haven't finished. It makes me wonder if husbands ever notice how the floors get cleaned, the laundry washed and put away, dinner cooked, and the dishes washed and put back in the cabinet. End of gripe!

Worked today and soup kitchen tomorrow. The guy to do the annual maintenance on our heating is here right now and after he leaves we’ll probably go cut the weeds. Update: this was yesterday. He was here about 2 hrs. It usually doesn’t take that long, but he was new. Wouldn’t surprise me if this was his first or second service call. I did get the weeds trimmed, tho.
I want to do something by the drains in the backyard so that it for one thing looks nicer and another so that it’s easier for me to mow. Getting Vince to do it is something else! Anyway, I finally got him to purchase the stone. It’s a first step. I do want to get this work done before we can no longer do it and also before it gets too hot outside for Vince. The heat doesn’t bother me as much as it does Vince. On the way home stopped at the vet’s office to get some meds. I’m thinking that tonight I might take a walk to the dollar store. I am working on a jigsaw puzzle. One of the ones that I don’t like. Every piece is the same. But on the back you have to be sure that the letters and numbers line up exactly. Well, it’s hard to turn the puzzle over so I’m thinking that if I put some poster board under it, I can flip the puzzle over and be sure that the letters and numbers match
Anyway, plan to work tomorrow then want to go to WalMart. For one thing, I want to make gazpacho and I need the veges. For another thing, every purchase at Sam’s Club you get something like 5% back. Well, if you buy gas in June on a Saturday you get like double the points. So I’ll also buy gas.
Oh, the delivery truck was late getting to BK today. I know Jerry was not happy that he had to stay to put away the items delivered on the truck and I was finished. So I came home, changed, got dinner ready, then went to the soup kitchen. He seems to have this aversion to getting the pickles out of the refrigerator for me. Why, I really don’t know. I had to ask him three times today. The third time I said that I really didn’t want to have to ask Molly (the manager), I’m only asking him then because it was before the truck came and I know once it came he would be busy. Grumble, grumble. But I just let it go in one ear and out the other.
It’s a beautiful day and I would really like to go in the pool, but I think it’s more important to get Vince started on the stuff by the drain. He is usually OK once he gets started. He wants to get it finished. It’s supposed to be nice the next few days so I’ll probably go in the pool then.
Lanette – I usually like a sneaker that has more room in the toes. I find Avia to be good. Also Ryke. My bowling shoes are a men’s. Most bowling shoes are too narrow for me.
Lisa – Vince is just the opposite from Corey. The slightest little pain and he’s right at the doctor’s. I’m the one who will work thru the pain. Not Vince. I have a high tolerance for pain. Sometimes I wonder if this isn’t a problem. When I get a crown, I never get novacane. None for a filling either.
Wake Forest Baptist Hosp. Called. Seems they made the appt for my ear. I thought they’d have asked me if that day was good (it is).
Anne DE – good luck to your uncle
Carol – one time I used Pledge on a small section of my floor by accident and I thought it made the floor very slippery. It did eventually wear down, tho. I really do wish there was some sort of wax that you can use with the Swiffer. Now I have tried using Rejuvenation and putting it on the floor with the Swiffer. Worked out OK.

DH is taking a good nap. 💤 We expect a visitor later this afternoon. ⭐️0

Michele ~ It wasn't Pledge furniture wax. It was Pledge gentle floor cleaner for wooden floors. I applied it with a damp Libman's mop. The floor look great! Now, I need to do the hall and entry way. Can't do the dining room and living room because they are covered in my DH's assortment of stuff that takes up too much room.

Well I got into the cookies I bought for a guest and blew my calorie limit by several hundred calories. Oh well. I will have to be good this next week. I guess that pushes reaching my goal weight out a week.

Well…. We got a call from the vet and they told us that they found that yogi had an arrhythmia, aka irregular heat beat and they suggested postponing the surgery til they could find that he would be okay to go under to do the surgery. They wanted to do an EKG and a chest X-ray.we told them to do the ekg AND OPTED OUT of the chest X-ray. We told them to go ahead with the surgery (because if we didn’t the mass would still continue to keep growing and they may have to end up taking out more of his jaw cuz it got bigger). SO, kirby got emotional and said that he didn’t feel comfortable going on the cruise now knowing that he has a heart issue even after his jaw issue has been dealt with. He wasn’t comfortable going on a cruise worrying about yogi while on the cruise. I old him to go ahead and cancel the cruise if he wanted to. He said he would rather be with yogi for the rest of the time he has left and take him (and us) to an ocean front place for a week instead.. right now it’s 4:03pm PST and i gotta call the vet to c how his doing and c if i can pick him up.14

My uncle came out of his pacemaker surgery okay. But they are keeping him overnight.
