Crazy busy at/with work. Taking a break from work tomorrow afternoon and going to watch youngest granddaughter's dance recital . Taking my Miata 😊 DH not going.
Hugs and healing thoughts for all that need them both two legged and four legged friends. (I was going to say hairy and non hairy but didn't want to offend anyone-hehe)
I love all of the strength each of you shares with us through your successes and struggles!

Speaking of shoes ...
We might be taking steps toward figuring out the newest issue of what's wrong with my feet - the numbness and pain on the top of my feet and numbness going up my legs.
I spent the day in tests. I've had more medical tests this month than I usually have in a year ... or two. And more blood drawn too!

Now we wait.
And my new doctor has gone on extended leave so I've got to choose another one!!
Not sure how it works in other areas, but here, your results will usually go to a practice which will have one or more doctors. My practice has several doctors. So when the doctor I had been seeing moved elsewhere a few months ago, I chose another one. Unfortunately for me, she's leaving till next year, so I've now got to choose another one.
I've also made a few alterations to my diet and increased my exercise a little ... and have lost 1 kg. Probably water weight but nice to see it heading that direction.

MIL fell and jammed her fingers into her wrist- they had to set it and put her in a cast. Dh will be staying there(he said the doctor said he had to or they wouldn't let her go home) for at least two weeks, or if she needs surgery at least two months..
It is going to be really rough on him. She doesn't like him, doesn't listen to him.
We will be looking at in home care to start soon. He can't be there 24/7 for ever. At first he was saying he was going to have to quit work, be there all the time(move in), etc. Mr. Pessimist for sure
I will go over in the morning to walk her dog- looking to rehome him. He is not trained, jumps all over everyone and way too much energy for a 87yr old(I told them from the first day that it was a terrible fit but they didn't listen and she has complained about him off and on since she got him a few years ago, but when we say we will take him back, she says no, soon she won't have a say).
Found out that none of the in home care is covered by her insurance so it will be all out of pocket.
This is going to be so hard for him both mentally and physically. To be with her all the time when she doens't like him, doesn't listen to him, etc.

Morning, afternoon and evening y'all,
I'm up early, had a restless night. Corey's sister, her husband and their youngest two kids will be here sometime this evening - not sure when yet, or if we're feeding them or what. I know that was part of the restlessness. They have an RV, so will sleep in it, which is helpful, but they will be coming into the house and I still have more to clean. Well, mostly vacuum. Plus I'm going to the doctor for my general medical exam at 4 p.m., and Corey can't go with me, as his family's coming.
When Corey came to bed last night, he woke me, and I told him I'd been dreaming that all of his family showed up in our yard (they bear a distinct resemblance to each other IRL) and that we were just going to have to get a bigger can of bug spray. Then fell right back to sleep again. 🤪🤪 Not sure if the bug spray was for them or the bugs they brought with them.
That's probably Freudian as all get out, but I genuinely do dread visitors, and the older I get the more stressful it gets. I prefer to live vicariously through all of your visitors and when you visit others.
Ah well. I won't die, I'll just spend an entire day cleaning. I have got to find someone to wash the windows - they desperately need it, and ladders are not a good thing for me. Might be finding out soon if Corey can sleep through me vacuuming. I hate vacuuming.
For now, though, I'll let him sleep and go get a cup of tea sorted out for me.

Lisa - I can't imagine not knowing if you are feeding the family or not! Oh boy! I always want an ETA and exact wishes for food procedure. Yes, visitors are stressful, all round.
My discomfort doesn't seem to be a UTI. It's lower abdominal, could be bowel issues. ??? It didn't stop me going for a run/shuffle this morning. Nice day, and some decent waves. My back is much improved, but I've transferred the discomfort to the front! I'm trying to walk better.
I am trying to be realistic about my friend L and not allow myself to get too enmeshed in her troubles. Losing her long term partner so suddenly, on top of two hip operations is not a breeze. Her only family is an alcoholic sister hundreds of miles away, also grieving the loss of a husband. No real local friends, though people are being very kind and visiting. She lives in a very quiet area, scarcely a village. I know she feels the lack of a supportive network of family and I find I don't feel able to talk freely about my own joys in my grandchildren etc. She also has very little money. All I can do is listen once or twice a week. To be honest, I don't want to do more.
Carol - I hesitate to publish links on here, because we were once admonished for it. It’s really only a pilot idea, but I'm proud of him for trying all these new things. For someone who has had severe anxiety, it is amazing. I'm secretly hoping he will invite his dear old mum on as a guest.

Morning ladies
Lisa- always a bit of anxiety over visitors..my brother did well but cant do any heavy lifting for awhile.. he just took a job on a mini estate and worked 2 days we shall see how long that lasts but they put a gas bubble in behind his eye that will disapate after awhile.. I ordered him a gel mask to freeze because he gets bad headaches.. that will be coming today... that should help..
Going to a graduation party later this afternoon with Tom,Elena for Toms second cousins that graduated high school..im still considered family actually more so than them but ..will be a fun time.. Alfie going over to hang with Homie...
Debbie- so sorry to hear about your MIL sounds like it was with my FIL and my BIL and when my MIL passed Doug was stuck with his dad and married his ex wife so he wouldnt get arrested for elder abuse.. let me tell you what a family that was...Tom was the only semi normal one out of that bunch lol.3 -

We had a late night yesterday and were finally able to get good rest. DH is diabetic and had a low blood sugar level. We were able to get good food into him and a healthy blood sugar level. We’re planning to sleep in for awhile this morning.4

Good morning ladies!
My cousin guest is at his event for the day so that's taken care of. I plan on making a meatloaf to take over to my aunt and uncle. My mom wants to buy them a pot roast but I bet a heart patient is supposed to avoid fatty meat. Mom wanted to send me over with some cash yesterday but I didn't take it. It just seemed crass.
Then I've got laundry in, and I need to order the father's day present. It's Saturday so there's my dumbbells to do. Seems like there were a dozen other urgent things, but I can't think of them now. Isn't that the way it goes?
Then later there's my mom's appointment paperwork, getting new flea stuff, and washing my sheets. Teddy still has a few fleas and the vet said that they are seeing fleas resistant to Frontline Plus, and I should try Frontline Gold. More poison.

I’ve been with my parents all week. Daddy had a TIA on Sunday but seems to be back to normal, whatever that is for him. Pain is definitely increasing as he declines. My sister is back, so I get a little rest.
We got a new cat on Monday, a shy rescue. She pretty much stays hidden under our couch. She comes out at night to eat, use the litter box, and explore. Hopefully she will learn to trust us in time. Her name is Georgie. She is black with a white face, throat and paws. Supposedly sweet once she trusts you. We will see. She lived in the foster home for 10 months, so I know the move is traumatic for her.
I have gained about 8 lbs, so I’m desperately trying to get my eating and exercising back on track. I declined depression meds at my annual checkup, but I may be regretting that decision.

Sorry to hear about your dad. I know this is so difficult.
Our kitty is a rescue kitty, whom we got when she was about 6 months old. She had lived her whole life on the street, so she was very shy and skittish. It took a few weeks, but she eventually warmed up to us, and now she is very social -- with us. She is still not so sure about strangers. She still has a lot of food anxiety, so we have to be very careful that we don't leave any food out because she will eat anything and won't stop. We have an automatic feeding system for her, because before we had that she was always conning us that she was starving, and she was getting very fat!! She is much trimmer now, but still tries to tell us that she is starving. I feel really sad for her about that. I think she was very traumatized living on the street.
Here she is working on a very difficult puzzle.

Good afternoon all:
Caught up again. Biggest excitement here was a tornado that passed through Wednesday evening. Luckily no one injured. I just had heavy rain. Went out walking in a park today and saw where alot of the tree damage occurred.
Pip-glad Yogi is back home.
Lisa-I may not plan things out as much as Heather-but I would want a bit more information with family arriving!
Shoes-finding decent ones that fit custom orthotics can be tough (and expensive). However, my feet are doing so much better, I am getting over style! For shoes for my job, I did find some dansko that work.
Changing jobs-I've been with the same agency for over 30 years, but I have changed positions. Luckily I have always had a very nice office.
Debbie-sending positive thoughts-does not sound like an easy situation at all.
Off to get housework done. Got bloodwork this morning, did check in with SIL, went for an hour and a half walk, caught up with you, lunch and laundry finished. Now folding and ironing.

Yesterday I spoiled myself a wee bit. Tried to make a hair trim appointment, and they told me it would be 71 minutes, so I put my name in anyway and waited next door, having a pedicure! Since the pedicure was only 35/40 minutes I did a couple rounds hitting the massage chair button. They weren't as busy as the hair salon so they said I could chill out there. My salon experience was nice as I just got a trim. I wanted a trim and conditioning treatment, but the place does not wash hair, so the conditioning aspect was out. I decided to just remedy that by going to Haggens (like Whole Foods grocery store) and got a good papaya scented shampop/conditioner, and mouse for fine/limp hair. Today I feel voluptuous!
After my salon time husband picked me up and we went out to "Tokyo Stop", a nice Asian restaurant and got 3 long tempura shrimp and some chicken with white rice. It came with a small salad. It is always good.👍💖
Today I cut up all the chicken and tossed it together, and ate with some homemade coleslaw, and some pickled tomato and cucumber slices.
Later today I will go play piano at a store in the old town area of Oak Harbor. Plus I need to find a unique gift for my daughter in law for her birthday next week at the artists co-op kind of store.
Its the simple things ladies. That's how I like to roll.💖. Next week is my 60th birthday, we won't really do anything special, but I might buy a slice of Italian cream cake I love from Safeway. Its just easier to buy a slice of something, instead of a whole darn cake. Plus we each can get our favorite kind. Lee loves the cheesecake slices, and I would rather have the white cake with Italian cream and slivers of almonds.
I leave the next day after my birthday so I don't want a huge meal.

We are having a quiet day watching the river. DH is taking a new prescription and I hope he feels better.

Thanks Katla! Got the doctor situation sorted. My next medical is scheduling a procedure to fix my sinuses.
It is currently 113 here now at 1:30 pm. Probably will still climb. Staying inside in air for sure!

Today will be Sasha's last day. She is not eating or drinking and is completely disoriented and doesn't want to go out for her walk. Our regular vet is closed on Saturday so we called the 24/7 emergency vet about an hour's drive away. They will let us know when we can come over. They deal with crisis emergency so it's like waiting in the ER behind heart attacks and gunshot wounds. Bessie and Sasha will be afraid being left alone for a few hours when Sasha leaves so I am going to stay home. My Sunday walking friend is going to ride with Jake so he won't be alone and I'll stay here so the other pets won't be alone. Sasha is the last of her litter and would have been 15 years old next week. Barbie in NW WA 19 -
I went over and walked MIL's dog. Dh went with me(wanted to get out of the house and we were only gone 20 min)- I wanted to go longer but he wanted to get back to the house. He was tired, not used to walking the hill plus didn't sleep much the last two nights because of work and his mom(She kept yelling at the dog or asking for stuff when he was trying to sleep at almost 10pm when he had to be up at 1AM) and no nap after work. Hoping he is napping over there now. We did leave her for an hour while we picked up groceries and his pay check. He went back over there and I came home.
I told her I would be back in the morning to walk the dog. He is actually really good on his walk- hoping to go by myself tomorrow and walk a lot longer.
She thanked me and said sorry(for dh having to stay over there)
Picked all the plums off her tree and the lemons so she was happy- she stresses if any fall on the ground because the dog might get one.
Going to work in my garden in a bit, after it cools off.
High temp yesterday I guess was 97. Not quite as warm today but still a bit too warm to be out in it very long
