Beth, so happy Cecil is doing well. I was wondering about the vet bills too.
Oh man, Debbie...and Lisa!!! I know plenty of people that I could call schadenfraude. What a GREAT word. I think they've come out of the woodwork in the last two years.
Lisa, I am SO glad your family visit was as happy as it was! What a treasured memory for both of you.
Barbie, I am so very sorry. Hugs and Harley-tail wags for you and Jake and Bessie. I agree with Allie. They know. Do they have any services that could come to you? I was surprised to learn that we have those here in MN. Our daughter used that for their elderly pup a couple years ago. It was just so much more peaceful for everyone.
Rori!!! That's terrible. I feel so bad for you. You're so sweet to offer to pay for their stay at a hotel. I hope you're negative by then so you can truly enjoy their company!
Beautiful Flea! Thanks for sharing!
SO EXCITED TO TELL YOU that Anne's team won their first playoff game! They play their second playoff game on June 25th, again at home. Thank God, cuz the traveling was getting EXPENSIVE! And then it's HOPEFULLY onto CANTON!!!
Congrats on Anne's team in the playoffs!!! That's awesome! Great pic of you two! Cute kids!
Yesterday I had the leftover Chinese food for lunch, with coleslaw, and pickled veggies. Yummo! Then went and played the piano at the arts and craft shop for over an hour. Put me in my happy place. Even sang some opera again. When someone asks for you to sing, well, you sing! I bought my daughter in law a tiled light switch cover. Its cool to make, and they have a tile class to make them. Mine however, had tile squares that should've been rounded more (sanded) so after I screwed it in, my husband promptly used it turning off a light, and cut his finger..oopsy. Lesson learned. The ones they sell are really sanded well and looked a lot nicer than mine. I might lie and say I made it for her. I told the shop owner I was going to. Lol!
Decided to not play tennis today, and not be sore this upcoming week. Just going to do the gym. I might get a slice of cake on Wednesday, but that's it.
The gal that made my personalized apron is sewing an apron for one of my pen pals. She's 21, had a rough time of her childhood, but is in love and doing really well. Her birthday was earlier this month, and her fiance bought her some chickens. I figured she would need an "egg collecting" apron, so I got the apron maker and her together in Messenger chat. I think she had fun picking fabrics and apron styles. Just told the seamstress to tell me how much and I would send her a check.ππ. My pen pal sent me a package as well, as she refers to me as her Auntie Rebecca.π. We are opening our packages on Wednesday. The fun of technology.

Michele, You are so creative, I knew you'd find a way to exercise even with your toe causing problems.
I thought I was handling things well today until I called the groomer to leave a message to say that Sasha wouldn't be coming for grooming on Tuesday but Bessie would. I said that Sasha was too fragile for the grooming and burst into tears on the phone.
Thank you to all of you for your loving support.

Machka-thanks for the information. I am going to someone who has specialized training for this. It has my interest piqued.
Lisa-what a great visit you had. Hope a relationship can be maintained.
Barbie-sounds like your current plan will be a bit easier way to handle a most difficult situation.
They were predicting rain to start at noon. My walking buddy was supposed to go to church and would not be free until 1 or so. I decided to go ahead and get in a walk early. Did 4 miles. Ran out to do errands, friend texts and want to know if I want to walk at 11 (she didn't go to church). They have delayed projected rain until 4 pm. Since I had promised her yesterday I would walk with her-I told her sure. Went out and got another 3 miles in. Don't remember getting that many miles in ever. Won't make a habit of it, but nice to know I can do it. Now to get back to the chores!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

walked MIL's dog then walked with my friend this evening(after working in the garden)- at almost 15,000 steps today- will have that before going to bed, even if I have to run to the corner and back or jog in place for a bit.
Tomorrow I should get about the same- walking MIL's dog and then zumba tomorrow night.
It really cooled down compared to yesterday. Asthma is trying to kick in so will grab a hot steamy shower and will feel better.
Need to get to bed early so I can be over at MIL's early in the morning. Need to walk the dog while dh has a video call with her doctor then he and I are going to go buy a new recliner. The one he was going to sleep in(to be in the room with her) broke last night. Tonight he is in the other one that has no electrical outlet so no CPAP plus has to leave the hall light on so she doesn't trip again. Not sure why the light is bugging him tonight- he falls to sleep here with the light on every night.

We live beside the Columbia River. Water levels are high. So far we are okay. Keeping my fingers crossed that water levels remain moderate. ππ»

I am catching up after a couple of days of not taking notes. I spent Friday evening with Rodger and yesterday I went to visit a 2nd cousin of mine and didnβt get home until 10pm.
Unexpected Guests - I would not be surprised at all to have my brother show up at my door some day. He keeps telling me that heβs going to. I donβt worry about surprise visitors though and wish that people stopped in unexpectedly more often. I miss the days of unplanned things.
Rebecca - that sounds like a wonderful day.
Barbie - Hugs to you and Jake. Pets are our family.
Michele - I put $50 in my car and it only gave me a half tank. My cousin texted me the other night that it cost $150 for her husbands half ton.
The prices really need to come down.
Allie - I like your new picture.
Heather - I need to do my roots too. I should go get the dye for that and maybe a burger on my way home.
Lisa - Iβm glad the visit turned out well.
Katie - Youβre dealing with a lot right now, sorry about the cat.
Carla - congratulations to your daughters team.
Ginny - that is a long walk. My back would be killing me.
Carol - I donβt know how people are going to eat. This is getting pricy.
Kylia - I wouldnβt be taking my vehicles there either.
I did a deep clean of my house today, it was the first time in a looooong time. I am sure Iβll be feeling it some tomorrow. I talked to me exercise therapist on Friday, when I told her that walking at the fair last weekend hurt for 2-3 days she told me that itβs a good sign. Iβm healing, itβs not setting me back, I just have more to go before Iβm pain free. Itβs been a journey. Kaitlyn will be married three years on July 6th and that was the day I got injured.
Iβm watching a special I had recorded on PBS called Clint Black the hits and the Mrs. His wife is Lisa Hartman, from Knots Landing days. She still looks ok.
Their daughter is singing too and she has a beautiful voice.
Im mentally preparing myself for the week ahead. Itβs supposed to rain everyday from today until next Wednesday. I hope the forecast is wrong.
Tomorrow Rodger and I will be married 35 years. It sure doesnβt seem it in some ways, in others it seems like 80.

Happy Anniversary Tracey!
I always have to stop and think how long my husband and I have been married because we got married in Canada where I was living, and 10 days later he returned to Australia. We didn't live together until 9 months into our marriage. So usually, I feel like we haven't been married as long as we have been.

I received a jury duty notice a few weeks ago, but I don't have to report (according to the website and juror status phone line). Last time I was called, I had to report, but wasn't chosen, so spent all day sitting in a courtroom while the attorneys made their decisions. This time I didn't have to report at all. Yay!

Tracey Happy Anniversary! Great picture!
Unexpected guests- I miss those days when folks would just stop by. My thought is I am stopping to see the person, not their house. I quit stressing about overnight guests. Wipe down bathroom and fresh sheets on guest bed and I am good to go.
Dh and I are approaching our 13th wedding anniversary, but have been together for 28 years. WOW!
Time to get ready for work. Have a great day!
Stay cool in the hot places and warm where cold (Machka)

Good morning ladies!
Tracey Happy anniversary!
Katla I'm sure you are keeping a sharp eye on that river. Do you have a basement? Can you move valuables off the ground floor? Do you have an evacuation plan? The whole thing is worrisome.
I'm another one with guest anxiety. But my cousin went back to California, and looking back it was a great visit. Except that I ate the cookies and muffins. Oh well time to start over again.
My uncle is doing very well. Yay! Thanks for your concern.
Have a great day!

bananasandoranges wrote: Β»@ginnytez thanks for the shout out. things are variable. glad to have gotten a half-chapter (or chapter, 23 pages) sent out yesterday. Hoping to hear from my corrector soon. taxes are due tomorrow. Some other material stuff to tend to. Took care of sending accounts to dentist. there was a glitch and they said they were unable to access their accounts (!!!???) so I had finally tended to that this morning. I have some big stuff to take care of in addition to the writing, and some people who say one thing then another.
WorkThe employeurs I work for are very reputable schools but regularly trying to pull one over on the employees and reduce working conditions. One has to have a lot of effort to even keep the status quo, which is very modest pay. Now they and other schools around the country are ceasing contracts and just hiring sorts of adjuncts (but worse I think) with no legal rights (no vacation, unemployment, representation) nor anything.
Sorry that your work situation isn't very good. Are there other schools which are better?
How is the thesis for your doctorate going? Are you able to tell us generally what area it is in - like Literature, Science, etc.

Good morning ladies!
Tracey - Happy Anniversary!
Rebecca - Happy Birthday!
Barbie - Happy that Sasha will be closer to home when her time comes. I too broke down when I called to let the groomer know Sophie wouldn't be making her appointment. She had already passed a couple days before. I've taking our dogs to the same groomer for over a decade.
Katiebug and Beth - my thoughts are with you every day as you care for your aging parents and their challenges.
Karen - I always thought it would be neat to sit on a jury. But now that I get squirmy when I sit too long and have the opportunity to visit the bathroom whenever I feel the urge, it doesn't sound so enticing.
Kylia - your mechanic woes gave me the shivers. Our town had a great little automotive repair shop, they took great care of my Subaru. Within the past year they sold out to another, larger regional shop - which I hope does the same great service, but a person never knows. Other than oil changes and obvious problems, I tend not to do much routine maintenance on my car, especially since I only put a couple thousand miles on it a year.
Machka - loved that "first step" meme. Do what we can today, tomorrow will fall into place.
Carol - I'll pay attention to the price of onions next time I'm at the store. I'm trying really hard to keep the grocery bill down by fixing old family favorites: meals I grew up on before processed and convenience foods were available. I planted yellow storage onions in a large container/tub a month ago - they did fine last year and I had nice medium sized onions well into this spring. Not sure what I'll get this year with the cool wet weather.
Yesterday I had a neat chat with my neighbor across the street, Roger. He and DH were well acquainted, but I didn't know him that well other to say Hi. He's ready to help me with ditch cleaning, weed burning, etc. And he had all kinds of good ideas and advice on many topics.
FACT: Most people love it when you ask their advice about something.
I feel like I'm now in the enviable position of having the best of the husbands in my neighborhood without having to cook and clean for them and do their laundry, lol.
COFFEE: I'm thinking of retiring the Keurig and going back to Mr. Coffee and just buying ground coffee again. The Keurig was given to us as a gift several years ago. The pods were more expensive, but the convenience was good. I'll pull the Mr. Coffee off the shelf in the garage, dig out the filters and give it a whirl again. We had a trick with drip coffee - as soon as it was done, we'd pour some into our mugs and the rest immediately went into a thermos. That way, it never had the "cooked taste" from sitting on the warmer.
OK better close. Hugs to all! Make it a great day!
Lanette
Chilly SW WA State where it's 48 degrees out, expected high today 58, the furnace is on, thermostat set to 66. Living room is 63 degrees and I'll put on more layers. If I could box this weather up and send it to those of you in the cooker like Rita and Okie, I surely would!
