Meg good to hear from you!

We didn't call the vet today. Sasha ate some chicken for breakfast and supper and walked for an hour this morning so we'll continue to take life one day at a time. We had already canceled grooming for tomorrow. No matter what, she is too thin and fragile to withstand the stress of grooming. Bessie will go by herself.
In other good news, Jake got a call today canceling a doctor's appointment that had been scheduled for Wednesday morning---8 AM, over an hour's drive away and necessitating leaving the dogs at home.

Just read this, so sorry to hear. I’ve been to involved with yogi’s situation to think about anything else. We’ve ha$ to go through this (what you r dealing with) 3 times, with rocky, bullwinkle and Floyd. We were in the thought of thinking of their quality of life rather than keeping them alive for as long as they could. Comes to the point of us thinking of them rather than ourselves. You know your baby and will do what you feel is right for you, your baby and your family6 -
did zumba and then wanted to hit my 15,000 steps so had my son walk around the block with me for that last 2000.
My Fitbit app says I am at 15,147 steps, 12 floors(flights of steps I think), 6.81 miles and burned 2,127 calories.
MFP says I have eaten 767 calories.
I will eat something but nothing huge- it is almost 9pm so don't want to over eat. Just ate a small amount before class(if I eat too much I get heart burn during class)
going to make graham crackers with peanutbutter and a little Nutella- puts me at 1012calories for the day with 920 remaining(NOT eating that)
Hope to get to sleep before 1AM tonight- walking MIL's dog in the morning then picking up meds for her

edit- did a little more- now over 16,000 steps. Enough for today.3 -
Happy almost Tuesday everyone. I am successfully logging and bought a food scale to replace one that’s gone missing since the last time I was faithfully keeping track. I don’t weigh everything but I find it helps for some things, especially as I retrain myself to gauge portions better. Also walking a lot.Things are headed in the right direction at least.
Grandmallie - glad you made the decision about your bed - hope you get your money back without having to fight them.

Thank you all for the anniversary wishes. Rodger and I were able to spend about 3 minutes together this morning. I have stayed up past my bedtime to see Rodger for a few minutes this evening. I guess this is a true example of marriage, it’s not all romance and candlelight. 😂 We do hope to get some time away this summer at some point and Rodger just asked me out for supper Thursday night.
There were a lot of people that didn’t think Rodger and I were making a good decision when we married. His Mother was sure we were though and I’ll always love her for that.
Machka - I can’t imagine being married and then not being together right away. My Grandparents were separated their first 4 years of marriage due to WWII.
I need to post that stairway reminder somewhere I’ll see it regularly.
I tend to worry and fret when I know that it all works out when you just take it a step at a time.
Those little succulent cupcakes are cute.
Lanette - I always thought it would be neat to sit on a jury too, I know myself better now though and if it wasn’t a 100% for sure “they did it” scenario I would doubt myself the rest of my life wondering if I made the right decision.
We use regular coffee in the Keurig. We bought the reusable pods for this. It has saved us a lot of money. Rodger drinks coffee more than I do so this works because he spaces his out over a few hours.
Kylia - I am finding it very hard to find a mechanic I can trust. That is what I went to my cousin’s the other day. He looked at it so the mechanic wouldn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. However, he is going to fix it for me so I don’t have to take it to a mechanic at all. He is a mechanic, he’s just retired.
Rebecca - we are having a drizzly cold week here. It is supposed to rain until next Wednesday. 😳
Allie - I have a coworker that has a dog that is keeping her up throughout the night and early morning. These comments always confirms for me that I don’t want a pet even though I would love the company.
Did they not warn you of supply issues at the time. We are being told to expect 6-8 months on most big purchases.
Lisa - I didn’t know what bingo wings were and went to look it up. I hadn’t heard that term before.
Sue - that is fortunate that your daughter stayed home. Junuary is an apt word for this month.
Meg - Welcome back.
Off to bed, I should sleep well listening to the rain.

My gynae appointment yesterday morning didn’t quite pan out the way I had expected. My back and hip have been stiff and sore, and I didn’t sleep well.
I’m disappointed that the prolapse issue hasn’t been resolve, but I’ll get over it.
The nurse practitioner couldn’t complete the procedure, and I have been advised to take things easy for 8 - 12 weeks. (Easy advice to follow today the way I feel.) at which time she will try the insert again.
I feel marginally better this morning, and will take it slow and easy. Gentle exercise, little and often.
Tracey: I glad that you have plans to celebrate later.
🥳🎉 Cheers to all those celebrating.

Went to doc today for UTI, different NP than my usual so she reviewed my chart then ordered an EKG and another that tests for blood flow and stress. Well EKG was good but stress one was bad. My physical stress levels are ok, but mental and emotional not good. I was referred to a doc that tests for current medication effectiveness and therapeutic massage. I then get home hand find I have 2 calls, one to schedule my sinus surgery and the other from the state tax office. 🙄🙄 and they wonder why my stress levels are so high!

Sorry that you're under such stress.
Is your sinus surgery similar to a surgery to repair a deviated septum? I did that 2 years ago. It was an experience!!
What was the stress test? A multiple choice type of thing?Snowflake1968 wrote: »Machka - I can’t imagine being married and then not being together right away. My Grandparents were separated their first 4 years of marriage due to WWII.

That was what we said to each other ... when the war was on, people married and then went off to war. If they could spend time apart, so could we.
I needed to finish my degree. I did try to move my degree to Australia, and was accepted at the university here, but I would have to finish it as an international student which is a lot more expensive than being a domestic student. We decided to save ourselves a pile of money by being apart 9 months.
Bingo wings -- I know them as bat wings.
Coffee -- here in Australia we drink instant coffee at home and at work, and strong Italian coffee when we go to a cafe. Some people (including us) have a French Press ... but ours rarely comes out.
Uninvited guests -- if they're dropping in to say "hi" briefly, that's not too bad. If anyone were hoping to stay overnight, that would be a problem. We don't have room.
But since we don't have a dryer (most in Australia don't) and we dry our things on a drying rack in the lounge room in front of the heat pump (like many Australians in winter), it could be a bit embarrassing having people in.

Good morning all! Happy Tuesday! I survived the weekend! Whoot! The Feast of the Strawberry Moon event went well. The weather was cooperative and kept us at a moderate 70 degree temp both days. Saturday overcast, but sunny on Sunday.
Barbie- So sorry to read about Sasha! I know you and Jake will do what is best for her. Hugs to you both!
Meg- Welcome back! Congrats on the loss!
Pip- How is Yogi feeling? A bit better? Hugs to you and Kirby! Sick fur babies make our hearts hurt!
Tracey- Happy belated anniversary! Cute pics!
Whomever posted the very cute succulent cupcakes...- Those are adorable and I am stealing that idea. I think I will make mini brownie bites and decorate them like mini succulents. So adorable!
I had yesterday off to do my shopping for the week and prepare my house and myself for childcare. Which I did, but I am still so tired. Anyway, kids will be here today. They are going to be very happy to see that it looks like our carrots are sprouting! It has been warmish and we have had a bit of rain and there is a nice line of green in our raised bed garden, right where the carrot seeds went in. Yea! Now that some green is up, I better get the fencing put up to deter the bunnies and other wild things! The kids can help me with that today.
Love and hugs to all who need them! I have been reading but my brain is still tired and foggy. Know that you are all, always in my thoughts. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)6 -

Terri - So sorry that the procedure was a fail. So very frustrating! Rest is the best medicine. Sleep.
I collected my bp meds today. Gave myself a pedicure. Listened to one of my favourite podcasts. This one was about sexual desire in long relationships and female orgasm. V good and very sensible. Had a funny lunch of curry laksa with big prawns. Yum.
Collecting Bea today. I will take my huge sunhat and I hope to have enough free time to give G a call.
Now for a short nap. I set a timer.

Good morning, afternoon or evening, y'all, whatever the case may be,
We're going to have ten yards of crushed rock delivered this week (one dump truck load), could be today or tomorrow, to repair the driveway we had done two years ago. Corey's going to bring a Ditchwitch home from work with a bucket attachment to spread it exactly where we want it.
For those who are interested, this is a DitchWitch:. It can be fitted with a trenching tool and a forklift, as well as a bucket to move things around like gravel or crushed rock.
If all that is carried off successfully without too many issues, we'll order another ten or 20 yards to finally create my longed-for circular driveway. I do enough self-reflection to know that I probably want it because my twisted little psyche believes that a circular drive is a signal of being rich. While that is certainly not true for us, I'm willing to fake it.
Got all the laundry finished and put away - five large loads, in the end. Hung three of them out on the clothesline, and two of them went in the dryer. One of the things I'm trying to do now, as my innards continue to heal, is to take advantage of everything that I can to increase my stamina. That includes using the walk-behind mower around the edges before I use the zero turn. And putting three loads of clothes on the line, and walking down to check the mailbox.
Small things add up, and I'm able to keep moving a little longer every day. I'm grateful for that, while still being completely frustrated that it's not happening faster.
Update on our daughter:Got a text from our daughter yesterday, her first day of Army Leadership school: "I was nominated as student 1SG for ALC out of 143 students today. They said it was the way I answered my questions, presented myself, eye contact, customs and courtesies, etc."
Love the fact that she thinks we understand the alphabet soup. Had to go look it up. The student first sergeant (1SG) is in charge of leading all 143 students, and directing the leadership of three to four other nominated leaders, each in charge of their assigned number of the 143 students. These leaders will make sure their group does their physical training each morning and, marches them to various destinations (like the dining facility at lunchtime), among many, many other things.
Her husband should be home from Poland today (landing in Wichita, Kansas, I think), and supposedly will be served divorce papers on his arrival. Like my first husband, he's still doesn't believe that she is divorcing him. Being served will probably shatter that illusion. The kids will be with him until her return from school.
Terri - I'm so sorry the procedure failed...
Meg - Welcome back! How are things going at home?
Heather - Enjoy your nap, and time with Bea.
Barbie - Thinking of you and your family.
Welcome to the new folks, jump in, the conversational waters are fine!
Love y'all,

Yogi is doing great. Still soaking his food, can’t have hard food yet. Goes in for a checkup 10-14 days after procedure. I on the other hand with this damn shoulder can’t wait til I c a doc about it. Putting salonpas patches on, taking ibuprofen and sometimes shots of booze to take the edge off11 -
Hello Ladies.
I cooked/baked all day Saturday and the kitchen was HOT! I think I must have sweat off a few pounds...too bad it's already back on. I made spiced nuts, tiramisu mini cupcakes, mini quiches, no bake cookies, and chocolate dipped shortbread cookies for my friend's birthday party. I enjoyed making it. I don't cook/bake for people too often anymore. I have cookies and cupcakes galore taking over my freezer. There was so much food, she asked me to take some of it back home so she didn't eat it all. I sent some cupcakes to work with the Mister. The rest will be great snacks for the boys when they go back out on the boat again.
We went to a comedy show last night. I have not been to one in a very long time. I need to find more of those. It's so great to laugh.
Has anyone done a wine and food tour through the Rhone or Loire Valleys in France? If so, did you use a tour operator that you'd recommend?
Have a great week!

Heat wave here. Ginny are you okay after the storms?
We lost some tree branches and power from 530pm-1230am. The upside was I got my massage in and didnt have to go to grocery! The temperature dropped 25 degrees in less than 5 mins.
Whiney today. Lack of sleep plus anxiety really high today. I just want to cry. Heat warnings for Ohio through tomorrow.
Hugs!
Congratulations!
❤
Kylia whiney in Ohio as I dont want to deal with people today.6 -
We live beside the Columbia River & it has been running very deep the past week. Today I noticed the Great Blue Heron is standing next to a power transformer. I wonder whether the transformer gives off heat.
I have favorites among the wild birds — the Great Blue Heron, and the hummingbirds are two of my favorites, along with the Osprey. The Osprey is a summer visitor. The Heron and hummingbirds live here all year.5 -

Katla- you know the Great Blue is my favorite also, the hummers and Cardinals too..

I am just waiting on a call back from a bedding store that Tom and I have used and never had a problem with and thats probably where i should have gone in the first place.Once i get a call back that they have what i want in stock i will be canceling my other order..
And they better not give me any flack.1 -
Phew! Knackered!
For some reason everything started to hurt as I set off for Bea. By the time I got to the school and met my son I was in agony.
Bea was very good. We had some great chats. She loves flowers and notices them all on the way home. I told her my granny taught me all their names.
The big ones went off to swimming and Bea couldn't find the ice cream she wanted in the freezer. So we had a nice expedition to the corner shop. She found an acceptable substitute, but I realised on the way home that she is sensitive to cow's milk.
I fessed up to her mum when she emerged from her shed and she said it was fine. Phew!
Now home. Double Knackered. Trying to summon the energy to get dinner out.

When I visit my family and take my nieces and nephews out, it's exhausting because they all seem to have different sensitivities! Gluten issues, lactose intolerance, no sugar, soy allergies, etc. Fortunately, they are all old enough now to keep their own issues straight.

Sending energy to those who are tired.
Terri - so sorry the procedure did not go as planned.
KJ glad your festival went well and you had good weather.
Cool and cloudy here but so far dry. I need to go to the bank to turn in some papers for my mom's estate and then see if I can find an ankle brace. I have not heard from ortho yet on the ankle. Hope that will happen soon.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5 -
We’re having a quiet day at home watching birds and the river. Water is deep and several trees on the island across from us seem to be sitting in several feet of river water.4
