My continuing goal is 16-20 AF days per month.
I had 19AF days in June.
Diary style:
Friday July 22: Drinks
Saturday July 23: Drinks - late in posting due to power outages. Planning to hit my 16 this week.

Good morning LESS alcohol group.
Yesterday I treated myself to a lemon drop martini. I actually walked the bartender through how I wanted it made(I knew we would be at this event for several hours and I prepared my drink strategy ahead of time) so I asked her to substitute the vodka with lemon rum and only use half the amount of alcohol in my drink, because I planned on having two glasses, but wanted them " light".
Worked out so well, I felt no tingle on my scalp(hahaha) from the frst drink or the second. This allowed me to say I only had 1 standard alcohols worth of drink.
Bars ought to try this as a regular practice.

7/24 Su - AF - Out on the boat and beach AF-day today. I got in an open-water swim. I noticed that I didn't need a nap after all that. (LOL)

Greetings, all. Love the photos. Those potatoes on beef look scrumptious! What was the impetus for visiting Omaha? Amazed at your mom's adventures at age 85. That's splendid!
I'm getting by. Things not great with all the parents but I won't vent here. Everyone is still alive, and honestly, I cannot express what a relief that is. I'm kind of on autopilot with my food & beverage consumption -- same strengths, same weaknesses. I just don't have my head in the game.6 -

I do like sparkling rose, looked up Tost and would like to try it.
I am willing to bet @dawnbgethealthy could make some amazing botanical flavored waters with the herbs in her botanical garden that could knock the socks off of any store brand herbal water
@ahoy_m8 I do appreciate your honesty and can say I am in the same boat, my head is not in the game. I want to blame the heat and humidity (it challenges me).
I think I need to get out of my stress zone, get some good REM sleep, and get back to my path to my personal best. My gut is screaming at me to quit my job (so has my husband multiple so many times) and it may be time to listen and just do it.
Yes, work has huge value, but also, I ask what is the value of me?

A huge hug to those with elderly parents....I lost both of my parents while I was still in my thirties. I have now lived longer than my Mom.😞
It is never easy at any age (theirs or ours)

July accountability: 7 days AF
Alcohol: 18 days (43 drinks)
Goal: Limit 1-2 glasses per day; 12-16 AF days per month. Aim to drink no more than 2 nights in a row.
Back from vacation and now need to work on a few AF days to round out July.
My mom is still on the road now visiting friends in Louisiana. She is good but cut her trip short by one day because of people pressuring her to move to Arkansas! LOL5 -

Hey gang!
Yes having elderly parent(s) is a challenge, the person is not so much the challenge for me it is the medical teams/suppliers that are making me insane.
I did have 2 beers Saturday and Sunday. I don't feel bad about them. I am in a good place with the alcohol right now. I look forward to what I now refer to as my weekend beer vs. my 7 nights a week vodka or whiskey with the beers on the weekend afternoons. I have come a long way (in my head) from Jan 2021 to now.
Anyway, going forward I am going to continue this for awhile.
Remodel front......Kitchen just a few minor adjustments and still finding homes for things. Some may not come back to the kitchen party
Master bath....80% there have the finishing touches and touch up paint to do.
Main bath...demo Aug 1 yikes5 -

Monday July 25 - AF - Busy week, but traded some shifts so that I can get a much needed day at the lake on Thursday. Haven't had the time yet this year. Working a split shift on Saturday and totally planning on having a few cocktails after that. I find that I am not as lively as I would like to be after having drinks the previous evening and need my wits about me this week.

Mon 7/25 - Drinks (3) - DH took me out for a nice birthday dinner at a great Italian restaurant. The meal was delicious with a heavy cream sauce. I weigh THREE pounds more today than yesterday (drats and double-drats!). I'm getting back on track today. The good news is that I will hit my 16 this week if I stick to plan! Finding this group has been so helpful and eye-opening to me.

Steak night ... 1 glass of red wine. DH at dinner wished we had a second bottle because he drank most of it prior to cooking. I poured mine and set it on the table waiting for me ... though I did walk by and take a sip every now and then I was not carrying it around with me, nor had it at the kitchen island as I prepped food, nor sat with it watching tv before we started cooking. I enjoyed my glass for the evening and glad that I held myself accountable to not drink 2 glasses. Though it was not the AF evening I had planned.
