Machka - I hope your DH didn’t hurt himself.

No, fortunately the direction he toppled was onto very wet grass and dirt. It's been raining a lot here, so the ground is quite soggy and soft.

But things like that tend to trigger his BPPV, so I've got an appointment for him at our physiotherapist centre.

I've also got an appointment there.

I saw a podiatrist this week who did all sorts of testing and then determined that my feet issues have to do with my L5 and maybe a bit of L4. If you look up L5 dermatome, you'll see what I'm experiencing.
    https://www.healthline.com/health/dermatome

So I've made an appointment with one of the physios who specialises in lower back, hips, legs, feet.

The GP I've had for several years left the clinic about 6 months ago to work in a different area of medicine. My back-up GP left about the same time to work in a different area of medicine. My back-up, back-up GP left maybe about 18 months ago ... to work in a different area of medicine. The clinic now contains several GPs I haven't been that impressed with and a couple new people.

I chose one ... and have confirmed that I'm not impressed. Doesn't matter, she left for Holland about a month ago and who knows if she'll be back.

In this part of Australia, it seems that GPs are merely triage/administration people. They write referrals for tests and specialists and prescribe medication. So despite the fact that the referral to the podiatrist was poorly done, it had got me where I needed to go ... to a physio who specialises in lower back, hips, legs, feet.

In this part of Australia, it seems that specialists like podiatrists and physios are the ones who actually know what to do.

Hopefully my feet will soon be feeling better.

It reminded me of a poem her Mom, my Aunt wrote for me. It’s all about how I should try to cook and that if something burns you start again. I’m going to find that poem and frame it in my kitchen again.

    I'd love to see that!

Allie-hope whatever you have passes quickly. There has been a cold and digestive sort of thing going around here-making people miserable. Now that more people are out and about, other bugs and illnesses are jumping back out.

Machka-Interesting stuff on dermatome. I can see the symptoms I had when I had L1 fracture. I have my updated orthotics back and broken-tremendous difference in my feet. I admit, a bit sad about giving up on some of my shoes-but lack of pain is a very good thing.

No big plans for weekend. I received my new MacAir-have initial set up done. Need to check that all apps are set up and all files transferred. Then start the tedious process of changing all passwords and moving to different email addresses. I have scheduled my flu vaccine for later this morning. Since they often make me feel a bit achy and off for 24 hours-that will be good task to do-no physical activity with it, but still productive.

Off to get some of my pt exercises in then quick grocery store run.

    Take care all,

Machka: Good to know that hubby wasn’t physically hurt. Our GP practice seems to be similar to yours. Most of the actual treatment is done elsewhere.

Heather: It’s intriguing how some little thing can send us tumbling back to a childhood worry, and good that we have developed some analytical skills to quickly restore our equilibrium.

Tracey— I enjoyed the pedicure along with my daughter. It was delightful. This was my second time getting a pedicure. ⭐️

DH & I are having a quiet morning today. Yesterday I had a good time shopping with our daughter. I found fresh blueberries at the store and had them with cottage cheese for my breakfast this morning. 😊

Michelle- Zuko is still here, just not inside the house. He hangs out in the back yard next to the catio with all the other cats in it. He won't leave. He is too food oriented-
When it starts getting cold/wet, I will change the catio from one large one for all the inside cats to two . The original part for the inside cats but close off the second part and open the side so they will have cover inside the playhouse that is in there and we will put a cover over the top- right now it is not covered so they get more air in.
One is still peeing on a pad in the bed- just not sure which one. I will spray the bed again with the deterrant and work harder keeping the litter boxes really clean and hope who ever did it will stop. One pad a day I can deal with(but don't like it when it is the one next to me).

The new kitten is doing well- loves the attention. Likes to be held and cries if I ignore him. He is still staying in the pen all the time unless I am holding him. I will do that for another week I think. Can't let it in the catio.

Heading over to walk MIL's dog then grocery shopping with DH-
Help is coming Monday for her because she demanded it and now she wants dh to call and cancel. Nope, she wanted it and now she will have to let them come.
She keeps making demands on things then changes her mind and wants him to take care of it.
She has a "friend" who is coming today- the lady was a friend of her other son's- always with her hand out. The lady is supposed to take MIL out but MIL doesn't want to go now because everytime they go out, she pays for the meal and the lady eats a LOT. In the past 10 yrs since she started hanging around, I think she has paid for lunch once and it was McDonalds. MIL started it, by paying each time so now the lady expects it- MIL won't say anything to her face but talks *kitten* about her as soon as she leaves(she is like that with every one.)

Time to finish my tea and head over. 45 min walk then lots of shopping. See what deals we can find for us and the food that she wants the person to cook for her(or not-who knows)

    Have a wonderful Saturday
