08/14-200.2-(Trend Weight 199.4)- What a wonderful reunion of old friends it was yesterday! I’m so glad I felt well enough to go. Sadly, I have dipped out of Onederland but I will work on that today. Especially since I see a new dr. tomorrow (endocrinologist) for my diabetes. I guess my family Dr who has been managing it has simply given up and I don’t blame her.
08/15-199.0-(Trend Weight 199.4)- Today I see the dr for my Type 2 diabetes. It is later this afternoon but I will need a couple of hours for travel time. Dinner will be out of town. It is located on Lake Huron so I may take carryout right to the water with my son for the view. It does look like an ocean! Then walk off some of the calories doing some shopping. A nice treat since we have no stores besides a grocery and a dollar store in my town. It’s always nice getting him up out of his basement apartment and into the sunlight.

I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. I'm finding it hard to get my rhythm back even though I'm back to working on site now. I've gained back too much of that 15kg loss. I plan to go back to basics because I KNOW it works for me!

On the 30th of July, I weighed myself and found I was at 142.7 kg (314.59 pounds)
My goals during august are to:
* Measure progress regularly (weight and waist circumference)
* Log food and meet daily food goals each day
* Be more deliberate about exercise, especially little exercises during the work day (I sit at a desk all day)
30 / 7: 142.7 kg

I'm Ian from the U.K.
Just back from holiday with the family and weighed in at 106.3kg. This isn't good for me, as I have coronary artery disease and being obese is a risk. I was this weight previously and managed to get down to 94kg, but have slowly but surely added it back on again over the past two years.
I am going back to the low carb diet which I had previously.
I also take a low dose of an anti psychotic med which really affects my metabolic rate. And I have M.E. which means I can't exercise. So, to lose weight I need to eat around 1,200 calories a day. My target is to lose 0.4kg (about a lb.) a week, so it's long and slow for me.

I’ve got my calories and logging under control, my macros somewhat under control, my water intake under control. Now, I want to lower my sodium intake and up my daily step goal! I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and would like some good news….I know I have a long way to go but I have to get there some time.

Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. I’m aware this is not a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight. I just couldn’t do it, bed won out. Hoping to make up for it today or just move on.
8/12: 218 Oops, not a stellar day, didn’t make step goal ✖️was over sodium✖️
However, I’m on vacation until 8/22! Plans fell through so it is a staycation but I have plenty to do! So happy!
8/13: 217.5 Increased my step goal✅ Stayed under my sodium goal✅ Yesterday was a stellar day, lots of swimming, lots of walking, ate great, went to bed happy! Staycation agrees with me!
8/14: 217.5 Literally did nothing yesterday. Fed the cats and took two naps. Did not increase my step goal✖️ Stayed under my sodium goal✅

08/16-200.6-(Trend Weight 199.5)- It was not a good appointment with the endocrinologist. Naturally he wants me on insulin but I still think I can lose more weight and that always makes my oral meds more effective. I’ve asked him for some time. I see him again in 3 months. He is going to have me test more often and fax him the numbers. I was told before to fasting test in the morn, this one wants it morn, after meals and before meals rotated daily for a short bit so he can follow the pattern. He may up my Trulicity shot for now but he actually raised his voice about the insulin. I’ve got a lot of work to do if I want to avoid the insulin. I just don’t want to become insulin dependent. Travel again tomorrow way downstate for the breast cancer stuff. Let’s hope that goes better than last time when I ended up with emergency biopsy and then, ultimately surgery. I’ve got to get better control of my life or my health will only get worse! I know this.

Aug 1 - 172.2 (Back from vacation and feeling good. August is going to be a great month!)
Aug 2 - 169.6 (Busy first day back to work but stayed positive. Ate well and focused on my step goal.)
Aug 3 - 167.6 (Dentist after work and then I'll hopefully find time for a Peloton ride or another walk, or both!)
Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

Aug 10 - 167.6 (Having some tough days at work and feeling the stress. Had a good day of food and exercise today. One day at a time!)
Aug 11 - 167.4 (Good day so far, haircut after work, had a nice lunchtime walk with my husband. Focusing on what's within my control.)
Aug 12 - 166.8 (Had a lot of exercise today. Gold day overall. I am excited to get to the lake tonight after work. Weather is looking to be quite hot.)
Aug 13 - 164 (Had an unexpected late night due to some concerns with my dog.. she's fine but I definitely slept in this morning. My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)4 -

@joans1976 Yeah I get lost in rabbit burrows in comments and videos...it's amazing how you can lose track of time! I realised I was spending way too much time looking at FB & IG and not enough quality time with my son. I have an iPhone and you can set time limits so it automatically boots you out after your set time (and you get a 5-minute warning) - you can include groups of apps in the same time limit too which is really helpful. Of course, you can choose to ignore the time limit and keep scrolling, which is what I did a couple of days earlier in the month there, but generally now once the time is up I just close it.2 -

Most of my wait loss over the past few days has been fluid. Cutting most carbs from my diet reduces fluid retention and my weight cannot continue to fall at this rate.
Just took my waist measurement for first time in ages today and was shocked that it was 44.5 inches. No wonder my 40 inch pants feel a little tight! My initial target is to get down to 40 inches.4 -

08/17-200.4-(Trend Weight 199.6)- Mamm and oncologist today for routine breast cancer remission care. Hoping for a good report. This is the longest trip of all my medical trips and I get it done every year before the harsh Michigan winter hits. My son will be with me thjs year. Probably Golden Corral on the way home, it is his favorite. Scale will be up tomorrow but then I will be diligent again. I’ve got my calories and logging under control, my macros somewhat under control, my water intake under control. Now, I want to lower my sodium intake and up my daily step goal! I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and would like some good news….I know I have a long way to go but I have to get there some time.

Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. I’m aware this is not a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight. I just couldn’t do it, bed won out. Hoping to make up for it today or just move on.

@joans1976 Well done you! And thank you for your encouragement too! I can't see myself coming off them any time soon so I really have to do something about my weight gain however hard it may be. I don't know about you but they give me such intense feelings of hunger, which together with the lowered metabolic rate is a nightmare. Have you lost weight since you came off the meds?

@codsallI I started MFP 3/28/22 and went off the antipsychotic completely mid June. I’ve lost 35 pounds since 3/28 and about 17 pounds since mid June. I’m putting in the work though, lower calories, exercise. I don’t get any cravings. The first month I was on MFp I went to bed hungry every night. Antipsychotic cravings are no joke! They are so strong! I swear they made me crave carbs. I know that at the end of the day, I’m responsible for what goes in my mouth. But those cravings were brutal. They are definitely better off the antipsychotic. I’m still on other psych meds that can cause cravings but the antipsychotic had some other nasty side effects and I just had had enough! I kind of had to fight my doctor on it. Feel free to send me a friend request and we can chat more!
I’ll bet you can do this though! One day at a time. This is a great group of supportive folks!1 -
I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast
smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)
Aug 17 - 164.6 (Beautiful sunny day here. Work is busy, one foot in front of the other. Got pulled into an unexpected work meeting and missed my lunch time walk. Tonight I have to get a cavity filled at the dentist and then I'll be able to go out for my walk.)3 -

@tassieboy Nice work! I didn’t know MFP sent you goal updates like that! Interesting. I too work a desk job 4 days a week, 12-14 hours a day. I just got a contraption today to make my desk into a sitting or standing desk. I can’t wait to give it a try.2

Roof being reshingled and another item checked off. Nothing to do about calorie intake but deals with my emotions that is a catalyst for binges.
