I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. I'm finding it hard to get my rhythm back even though I'm back to working on site now. I've gained back too much of that 15kg loss. I plan to go back to basics because I KNOW it works for me!

My name is Ian and I am a 62 year old male from the Midlands of the UK. I am 6' 0" tall. I have a number of health conditions which prevent me from doing aerobic exercise and I take medication which as a side effect lowers my metabolic rate and increases my feelings of hunger. I can't walk so use a mobility scooter. As a result my weight loss depends totally on calorie intake reduction.
My initial target is 100kg, to move from obese to simply overweight. I would like to get my waist size below 40" too.

Weight loss is levelling out now as I come to the end of fluid loss.4 -
I’ve got my calories and logging under control, my macros somewhat under control, my water intake under control. Now, I want to lower my sodium intake and up my daily step goal! I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and would like some good news….I know I have a long way to go but I have to get there some time.

Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. I’m aware this is not a healthy, sustainable way to lose weight. I just couldn’t do it, bed won out. Hoping to make up for it today or just move on.
8/12: 218 Oops, not a stellar day, didn’t make step goal ✖️was over sodium✖️
However, I’m on vacation until 8/22! Plans fell through so it is a staycation but I have plenty to do! So happy!
8/13: 217.5 Increased my step goal✅ Stayed under my sodium goal✅ Yesterday was a stellar day, lots of swimming, lots of walking, ate great, went to bed happy! Staycation agrees with me!
8/14: 217.5 Literally did nothing yesterday. Fed the cats and took two naps. Did not increase my step goal✖️ Stayed under my sodium goal✅
8/15: 218 Increased my step goal ✅ went way over my sodium goal ✖️

The weight is coming off which will help with health but I really want to improve my heart health. I’m going to try harder but it’s already a challenge when you are watching calories, macros, alcohol, sodium, steps, exercise and weight. I don’t want to get burnt out!

08/19-201.6-(Trend Weight 200.0)- Counters are being delivered today so FINALLY (maybe} we can get the work finished on the kitchen in the (very) near future. While waiting, my handymen managed to finish the egress window in my son’s room. All the trims inside and out were actually finished yesterday. It adds a lot of light and fresh air, but more importantly safety. I’ve ordered a new grate and lid for it. Yesterday’s diet was wonderful, until about 11:00 pm. Then I added about 325 extra calories because I was so hungry. But it was “good food”, not junk. Low-carb bread with chunk chicken breast with mayo mixed in and walnuts thrown in to make a yummy low carb sandwich. The scale still dropped. I am going to try to plan my meals more carefully today and figure out the spacing.

Aug 1 - 172.2 (Back from vacation and feeling good. August is going to be a great month!)
Aug 2 - 169.6 (Busy first day back to work but stayed positive. Ate well and focused on my step goal.)
Aug 3 - 167.6 (Dentist after work and then I'll hopefully find time for a Peloton ride or another walk, or both!)
Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

Aug 10 - 167.6 (Having some tough days at work and feeling the stress. Had a good day of food and exercise today. One day at a time!)
Aug 11 - 167.4 (Good day so far, haircut after work, had a nice lunchtime walk with my husband. Focusing on what's within my control.)
Aug 12 - 166.8 (Had a lot of exercise today. Gold day overall. I am excited to get to the lake tonight after work. Weather is looking to be quite hot.)
Aug 13 - 164 (Had an unexpected late night due to some concerns with my dog.. she's fine but I definitely slept in this morning. My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast
smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)
Aug 17 - 164.6 (Beautiful sunny day here. Work is busy, one foot in front of the other. Got pulled into an unexpected work meeting and missed my lunch time walk. Tonight I have to get a cavity filled at the dentist and then I'll be able to go out for my walk.)
Aug 18 - 166.8 (Busy day at work as I'm off tomorrow and have lots of meetings. Also have a doctor's appointment at lunch so I'll be walking there and back. Step count should be decent when I get home but I still expect my dog will need a walk unless my husband finds a window to get her out before I get home.)
Aug 19 - 167.8 (Today was truly special. I had the day off and my hot air balloon ride that my husband gifted me on our wedding day finally went ahead. We then went to the mountains and biked 70 KM or so... just had so much fun.)3 -

Seem to have plateaued really quickly despite good calorie control. Still, 2.2kg in 7 days is good weight loss so to be expected.3 -
@joans1976 Wow! Well done you with your weight loss and med reduction! I have heard how difficult it is to come off anti psychs. Like you I'm still on anti depressants (have been for many years now). Thanks for the offer of friendship too, but I'd rather just post on here. I just have to keep my life very simple these days so I try to minimise time on line just stick to face to face relationships. Nothing personal, and hope that you understand. You're right, we are responsible still for what goes in our mouths. We may have reasons why things are more difficult but they are no excuse for doing nothing. Let's keep in touch on this feed. 😀2

Yesterday was tough. Worked a silly long shift and ate way under calories. It was time for bed and I was so tired but I still needed to eat 400 calories. Handymen were messing around in the electrical box in the basement while trying to hook up new drop in stove. The ignitor is electric tho the stove is gas. Now over half of my house doesn’t work. All the main floor is down except the bathrooms which each have one plug. Well pump stopped working too, so no water again. My part-time neighbor was next door and my handymen said we could feed my house with low level pressure water through garden hoses off our spickets to bring running water to faucets and toilets in my house (called backwashing) and neighbor said okay. So I can flush but not shower unless I want it cold. I ran an extension cord to the bathroom for my breathing machine last night. There is a plug upstairs that seems to be okay so son slept up there last night and DD & DGS stayed at boyfriend’s. Today is Sunday, I’m in the middle of nowhere with no real skilled tradesmen in the area and this old house has decided it’s not waiting any longer on the electrical upgrades. It’s spooky. The microwave is beeping on and off. The phone base. Not enough power to run the TV. Computer comes on if I unplug the fridge in the other room but I have to baby it. I am hearing the electrical surges run through the computer speakers. Oh, and the birthday party of my DGD is out-of-town today (not to mention the wedding in less than 2 weeks). So…… right now I am going to go in the bathroom where I made coffee and hope it generated enough heat to get the coffee hot. No wonder my heart is giving out! Sorry to unload like this (yet again), but please ya’ll, count your blessings, pray for me and help me count mine!

I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. Goodness @deepwoodslady your poor old house really is in a state, isn't it?! I hope you're able to get it repaired quickly. I know what it's like having no trades available nearby, and waiting on things to be done. Last year my hubby accidentally broke the glass in our sliding door, and the whole thing was so old (and not to code anymore) so we decided to replace the whole section with double-glazed glass to help with insulation. A tradesperson came out in a couple of days to quote it but it took literally months for the new glass to arrive and then another couple of weeks before he could fit it! So we were months with a piece of board covering the door frame, it was not fun!1

My name is Ian and I am a 62 year old male from the Midlands of the UK. I am 6' 0" tall. I have a number of health conditions which prevent me from doing aerobic exercise and I take medication which as a side effect lowers my metabolic rate and increases my feelings of hunger. I can't walk so use a mobility scooter. As a result my weight loss depends totally on calorie intake reduction.
My initial target is 100kg, to move from obese to simply overweight. I would like to get my waist size below 40" too.

08/22-200.0-(Trend Weight 200.2)- Well, I missed my DGD’s birthday. The electricians showed up quickly and worked until 11:45 pm at night to get the problem solved which was a whole new electrical box with an upgraded service. Something I was going to do anyway, so why not tie it all up neatly with a bow at once? Grateful for electricity and grateful for water today. My weight, my trend weight and my fat % is exactly the same as yesterday and I was surprised to see that because it was a model day. However, I realized that I did not take the heart-healthy water pill (because of the birthday party) so I probably have fluid built up. Also, I was stuck in the house all day with electricians and stuck sitting in the dark for several hours last night so exercise of any kind was out the window. Slept well though when they finally left. I was exhausted! I’m ready to lose some weight my friends!

I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. I'm finding it hard to get my rhythm back even though I'm back to working on site now. I've gained back too much of that 15kg loss. I plan to go back to basics because I KNOW it works for me!

Aug 1 - 172.2 (Back from vacation and feeling good. August is going to be a great month!)
Aug 2 - 169.6 (Busy first day back to work but stayed positive. Ate well and focused on my step goal.)
Aug 3 - 167.6 (Dentist after work and then I'll hopefully find time for a Peloton ride or another walk, or both!)
Aug 4 - 166.2 (Have stress at work. Afterwards I will decompress with some kind of exercise. Last night I chose to do upper body strength as my exercise of choice and it felt great.)
Aug 5 - 165.8 (Found time to ride the Peloton last night and it felt good. Off to the lake for the weekend as soon as work is done.)
Aug 6 - 164.6 (Nice sunny day here today. I am going to aim for 10,000 steps which will require 1-2 longer walks around our lakeside trailer park. We have a bigger dinner tonight my husband is making for our trailer friends.)
Aug 7 - 165.8 (Yesterday I underperformed on my fitness and food plans so the return to the higher weight is completely expected. Tonight we return from the lake and have supper with friends before heading home.)
Aug 8 - 167 (Yesterday we came back from the lake, walked to and from a friend's house for a pizza supper, and then I did some yoga and strength. A good day.)

Aug 10 - 167.6 (Having some tough days at work and feeling the stress. Had a good day of food and exercise today. One day at a time!)
Aug 11 - 167.4 (Good day so far, haircut after work, had a nice lunchtime walk with my husband. Focusing on what's within my control.)
Aug 12 - 166.8 (Had a lot of exercise today. Gold day overall. I am excited to get to the lake tonight after work. Weather is looking to be quite hot.)
Aug 13 - 164 (Had an unexpected late night due to some concerns with my dog.. she's fine but I definitely slept in this morning. My husband is going for a long bike ride as he's training for a Gran Fondo so the dog and I will be hanging at our trailer. Will try to get her out for a few short walks before it gets too hot.)
Aug 14 - 163.8 (Feels good to see my second day in a row in my maintenance range since I got back from holidays. I planned my food well yesterday and got my 10K steps. My husband leaves from the lake to head north for a business trip this evening so my Mom is coming out for a BBQ and visit and then I'll go back home with her.)
Aug 15 - 165.2 (My husband is away on business so it feels quiet. I plan to walk my dog before work today as it'll be a hot day. Will get my activity off on the right foot!)
Aug 16 - 164.4 (Rode the Peloton last night and did some healthy cooking. Pre-prepped a breakfast
smoothie that was a tasty start to my day. Lots of fibre today!)
Aug 17 - 164.6 (Beautiful sunny day here. Work is busy, one foot in front of the other. Got pulled into an unexpected work meeting and missed my lunch time walk. Tonight I have to get a cavity filled at the dentist and then I'll be able to go out for my walk.)
Aug 18 - 166.8 (Busy day at work as I'm off tomorrow and have lots of meetings. Also have a doctor's appointment at lunch so I'll be walking there and back. Step count should be decent when I get home but I still expect my dog will need a walk unless my husband finds a window to get her out before I get home.)
Aug 19 - 167.8 (Today was truly special. I had the day off and my hot air balloon ride that my husband gifted me on our wedding day finally went ahead. We then went to the mountains and biked 70 KM or so... just had so much fun.)

Aug 21 - 167.8 (Fun day at the lake with a short dog walk and then we returned home and went out to dinner with a friend. Feeling busy for sure.)
Aug 22 - 164.8 (Today was off to a good start and I got a walk in with my dog at lunch but we had an event at work near the end of the day and I ended up putting in a couple extra hours. I have been so busy lately and it's definitely my exercise that's being sacrificed. I don't have any choice as something has to give. Doesn't change my maintenance strategy as I eat my exercise calories so it just means they get pared back accordingly.)2 -

@joans1976 I have a desk that goes up and down for sitting and standing at the office. Except I hardly ever go to the office these days!
On the 30th of July, I weighed myself and found I was at 142.7 kg (314.59 pounds)
My goals during august are to:
* Measure progress regularly (weight and waist circumference)
* Log food and meet daily food goals each day
* Be more deliberate about exercise, especially little exercises during the work day (I sit at a desk all day)
