Day one of Rita's gratitude challenge
Betsy in NW WA7 -
Katla - I hope you're able to see your husband today. Thinking of you.
Heather - I realized this morning in my early fog that we hadn't heard from Kate UK in a while. Hope all is well!
Rebecca - Most of my gallbladder story isn't useful, it's just more of that urge to tell pregnancy and delivery horror stories at a baby shower. The surgery, though, was easy-peasy. Laparascopic, with five tiny cuts no worse than paper cuts around my abdomen, and I was back on my feet and pain-free the next day--just a little sting from the tiny cuts and the usual headache from the anesthetic. No joke--I only took the week off work because I had sick days to use. At the time, I was running a fitness center. I've had four surgeries in my abdominal area, and that was the easiest recovery by a long, long way. My kidney stones, like Machka's, have all emerged on their own. Low back pain, a little bit of blood in the urine when they break free, as much liquid as I can get in me, and they make their way. All depends on their size, I think. They'll let you know. Last but not least - do NOT throw the food away or give it away. Every person is different as to what they can tolerate. Seriously. Wait until after the surgery, and introduce one food at a time. If it bothers you, then take it off your menu. Taking all the fat out of your diet is a good way to lose a chunk of your hair mass, and doesn't necessarily help your digestion afterward. We need fat.
Will visit more later.
Love y'all!

My son has just rung with a change of plans because he messed up on the arrangements. That's the second time he has got the plans confused recently.
I know he is mega busy and probably stressed out, but he should have all this stuff on his phone. He has ADD, which means it is even more important to have everything tracked and written down.
All that said, it's actually easier for us!The girls are at Art Club until 5.30 and Max has piano until 5.45. Both venues are near enough. I will pick up the girls and DH, Max. I have suitable food for them all.
My son will pick them up at 7.30. The only disadvantage is that I will have to do 20 minutes rowing to make up the CO.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -

Not quite all of mine have emerged on their own. The first one I noticed did not - it was too big, got lodged, and had to be surgically removed. All the rest have been OK.Kidney Stone Story ...

Allie - I read that as "Miles has a hair appt this afternoon," and it made me blink! He's a cutie, I so appreciate it when you post pics of him, and the picture of Alfie was so cute, too! So glad you got the picture thing sorted out...

Dang it - and the reason I actually came back right now was the discussion on TENs units. While my spider vein and seemingly permanent bruising from the edema a couple years back have not changed in appearance, they have radically changed in another way. Both were painful to the touch, and that began diminishing on the first TENs ten-minute session. After three ten-minute sessions each, they are no longer painful to the touch at all... just wanted to update.8

My daughter is picking me up this morning to go to the hospital. My husband is there and needs a procedure.8

Forgot to show y'all the wonderful cabin that we're staying in this week! Having such a great, relaxing time. Trying to read everything from everyone but it's really hard when I'm also trying to stay disconnected. LOL

cityjaneLondon wrote: »Hi Rebecca, glad you are getting some answers to your tummy issues. I have not yet had a kidney dtone, but I did have a fine collection of pyramid shaped, yellow gallstones, that I still have in a display box. For me, my diet didn't seem to make much difference to the pain attacks, apart from a very rich curry, or a greasy stew, so I wouldn't deprive yourself unnecessarily. They just seemed to happen when they happened. Once I was taken off the train at Waterloo Station and conveyed on a platform trolley to an ambulance. The hospital found the gallstones that day. I hope you can get your op as soon as possible as narcotics and pain killers are horrible things to have to take for long. Constipation being one effect!
My brother had a stuck kidney stone and the agony was profound. They gave him powerful suppositories in the hospital. He passed it and is fine now.
I have no problems at all with eating now and my digestion is fine.
I think KateUk is having her gallbladder out around now. We haven't heard from her for some time.
Pouring with rain. It is supposed to clear by this afternoon when we walk over to babysit the kids for Parents Evening. On the way I need to pop in to the Mediterranean shop I bought my cardamom pods from yesterday. I didn’t have enough cash , so they said I could pay the 66p remaining today. They are actually from South Sudan and have every possible comestible in their shop, including homemade falafel mix, frozen artichoke hearts and za'atar, all of which I purchase. Plus it is all so cheap! None of the supermarkets had cardamom pods yesterday, even the mega Tesco.
On with my poems!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
Displaying your gallstones, I think I will ask for mine, and my sister can paint/create magical shadow box thing! For college she was suppose to put an ordinary object in a setting unique or uncharacteristic for it. She took one of my wisdom teeth and put it in a fantastical ring setting with a padded box. My tooth was gorgeous! 😜. I can't wait to feel better and though I do appreciate the fuzzy warm sleep the pain meds bring, I haven't got plumbing to work since Monday. Granted Tues was a small container of Jello, and Wednesday was a serving of ensure, (a protein drink), and a turkey wrap. Hopefully my prune a day regiment, plus water will get things going today.

I hope they are able to schedule you for gall bladder surgery soon and get it over with. You are a pretty sick little puppy the way it sounds. Double whammy.
After my gall bladder surgery, the surgeon said "eat anything you want". I pretty much can and do, though some folks have issues. Our bodies let us know.
I passed my kidney stone quickly and it wasn't that big, just hurt like the dickens.
That door plaque is beautiful. What a thoughtful thing.

Thanks for the nice words, I am hopeful to get a appointment soon to see specialist. Usually the Tricare referral nurses are fairly prompt. I am blessed with the sweet disposition of my eldest son. He wears a heart on his sleeve, and I covet our relationship. 💖
I know with my husband, when he had his liver transplant, we received the after care appointment summary and it said his gallbladder was properly absent. I asked him when did you get your gallbladder out? He called his Mom and she couldn't recall him ever having surgery in his youth. We called the transplant nurse and she announced, " oh when they removed your liver, they remove the gallbladder as well". In none of the paperwork did they ever mention that! You'd think that would be a thing to tell a patient!😜😂😂🙄 We thought that was hysterical!😁

Lisa--Happy for you that you got some answers and pray the infustions work.
Michele--I am like you and wonder what if the person doesn't passaway?
Katla--Sending prayers for DH and you. This has got to be stressful. Please be sure and take care of yourself so that you are ready when he comes home.
Day 2 of Rita's challenge (without pictures) Today I am grateful that the computers are back working at work. Alot of back work to get done, but I have most of mine done.
Rebecca--So happy you got some answers and have a plan. I had my gallbladder out after several years of problems and it sure made a positive difference. What a nice gift and seeing it in front of your apartment where you lived is neat.
Machka--I am a cross between a bear and Lion. Come 9 pm and I am ready for bed. Just sometimes getting my mind to relax is a problem and I am awake for hours.
Has anyone heard from Kylie? I am worried about her with all she had going on with her husband and sister in law with the business.
Carla--Beautiful cabin outlook. I understand wanting to just relax and enjoy.
Going to warm up in the 70's today and rest of week. Gotta love Nebraska weather. I go to the dentist this afternoon, I have a couple sores in my mouth that will not heal and have had a long time. Doctor has looked at them before but never said much. I have some cream I put on them and they will almost heal up and then if I miss a day they are back bigger. So going to have it checked by the dentist and see what he says.
