I am looking forward to seeing DH soon. He is being moved to a care facility closer to here. It will be easier for our daughter and me to visit frequently. DH has been lonely. He will eventually be in our apartment with me. We are both looking forward to being together.

Karen ~ Is that your granddaughter in the photo? So cute!
Carol in GA
Carol This little granddaughter is Lilliana Belle ("LillyBelle") and she will turn 3 next week. She lives nearby and she will become a big sister in January or February. Her mom is an ED doctor and also a specialist in toxicology (overdoses and poisonings). Her dad, my spouse's son, is Mr. Mom and in graduate school pursuing a Master's degree in counseling. He wants to be a college advisor. This is the son that is so willing to help us when he has time. He lived with us for awhile when he was about 19 and not welcome at his dad's house, lol. He didn't finish high school and it made his dad mad. Well, now he is getting his master's degree, so...
Karen in Virginia
p.s. We have 5 grandchildren - 3 girls and 2 boys - and one more girl on the way. Two live in California, and the other 5+ live nearby.

Pip, Lucy and Cheespas are so darling!
Harley says WELCOME to the brood!
It's another GORGEOUS fall day in MN. Big door open to the backyard even though all the leaves are down. Just hanging out, loving the sunshine and warmth until the "s" flies.

Having a fried egg and Russian rye toast, with coffee. Last night was night 2 without pain meds. Feeling as though my "episodes" have passed somewhat. Oh to lie in bed, thinking I am not feeling ache or pains anywhere. Its a feeling I took for granted, and now I am just thankful this morning. Tues is my gallbladder surgeon appointment, hope that goes well. I am excited to get this started.
This morning was "self care 101" with a Shea sugar scrub, shampoo, deep conditioner for my hair, then coconut oil from my eyelids to my toes. Of course dipping my hand into the coconut oil container iI gave my cuticles and nails some tlc too.😜😄💖. I always do a self massage on my legs and arms then just lie on a towel on the bed like a some Queen of Sheba. Lol!
Today in the afternoon I plan to have a taco salad. I have all the items leftover in containers in the fridge so, best to make use of them.
I might even write some letters to pen pals today. I have about 10+ letters to answer from way back to July, just haven't felt oomph enough to answer. With spending September with my eldest sister, and helping her prep her place for 150+ people for her husbands Celebration of Life, well that just took the wind out of my sails. I figure I should do a couple now since I am feeling good, before my gallbladder business.
Have a good day all! Hugs from Whidbey island

Rebecca - glad you are feeling more like yourself.
Did stockings etc, swimming, so slowly getting there. I always take a surge protector extension lead, because we have so many gadgets to recharge!
Listened to very good podcasts while I sorted. Excellent about relationships and how to keep the oomph! Whenever I listen to Dan Harris I think of Barbie. In the last one the guest suggested that, when we are together at a good time , we should say, "This is a happy moment". I am going to do that! I know the kids would appreciate that. And DH.
I have been following advice on several podcasts to give more compliments and be more appreciative. Sounds cheesy, but it really works. Pay attention to your loved one. It's the small things.
Nurture your erotic self, even if you are alone. It's for you. Stay alive, questing and curious. Do new things.
All good. I'm going to have a go at all of it.

This pic was taken last year after a surprise freeze. They had started irritating then the freeze hit. Made for a really interesting picture.
The 10 day challenge is over but still like this trend!😉

I am sitting beside DH. He is still in the hospital. I hope to see his doctor and find out what comes next. I hope DH will be able to come home with me. There is discussion of a care facility near where our daughter lives. I could cooperate with that if it is needed. DH is currently sleeping.11

Rita - That 2nd photo is worthy of a frame!
Been downloading a couple of books to my Kindle. I love having books to look forward to. Also downloaded a few podcasts for the journeys to and from the ship, if needed.
We never have much time for reading on a cruise. There is always so much to be doing, and in between I'm napping! I'm normally such a voracious reader!
I have bought data for 8 days in Europe. That will start in Lisbon, but won't last until Gibraltar. I may decide to pay extra.
Edie dropped off a thank you card she had made today. So sweet. I love our conversations.

Edie thanks all of you who supported her.

Nothing real exciting, just work. HOWEVER...none tomorrow so I’m planning to do Jillian Michaels 10 Minute Body Transformation DVD.
Went to the funeral of that lady I saw in hospice. Saw some Newcomers that I haven’t seen in a long, long, time
My lower left wisdom tooth is hurting. If it isn’t better by Monday, I’ll call the dentist. Sometimes you bite on something hard and the tooth gets sensitive but then gets better as time goes on. I’m hoping that if it doesn’t get better (I have a suspicion that it might not) it’s just a cavity. The good thing is that I don’t want to eat anything hard so I’m avoiding eating at all. Hard being a raw carrot or biting into an apple
Got the spikey-things that you put on your shoes to aerate the ground today. So I’ll probably do that tomorrow.
Made a pineapple angel food cake so it could cool while we were at the funeral. Made these pizza muffin meatloaves to have during the week.
Took a t-shirt from work today. Now I have five! I’ll try to get another one.
Evelyn – fortunately, Jerry really doesn’t do much in the kitchen. He mostly cleans the floor, the bathroom, sometimes he makes the eggs but they can not have him do that. But you’re right, the chances of him falling are there. Well….all I can say is “not my problem”. I’m thinking that for any other employee, this would be grounds for immediate dismissal. Which is why I wonder if they have an agreement with someone.
Viv – that is so very nice of you to at least take those kittens to the SPCA. The kittens that were found in the cockpit of the plane have been taken to the SPCA.
Heather – one time when I was away, Denise showed Vince how to run the dishwasher
Allie – Myles is getting cuter every day. Love him in the pumpkin
Loving all the pictures!
Mary Charlie is a piece of heaven
Want to watch a bit of TV, then take a shower. Will be able to get a few walks in tomorrow. Did I tell you how much I hate it getting dark so early? I used to go for a walk after dinner. Now it gets dark wayyyy too early.

I am a huge fan of the seasons. The long dark mornings please me in the same way as the endless daylight and all the intermediate times. What bugs me is the abrupt time change
Barbie in NW WA6 -
Our daughter, grandson & I spent time with DH at the hospital. His doctors were excellent. He is doing better & I hope he continues to improve. I hope to see him again soon. I am praying that he gets better every day. ❤️5

I like as much daylight while I am awake and active as possible.
I miss the northern Alberta summers ... further north than Edmonton. Spent many years growing up there.
But not so keen on the winters up there.

Today was sunny ... it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow, but today was sunny!
So we went for a 50 km bicycle ride.
Walking (I've actually done more but this shows the 50 km for the challenge)

With Explanation ...
Oct 20: - Rhody, of course.
Oct 21: - Our beehive, with bees.
Oct 22: - Our patio area and the gravel work we did last summer to make it a nice place to be on a warm summer day. Also to make it a dry place to be when we have a whole lot of rain like we have had lately. Previously this area would have been a swamp. And that is Rhody in the middle too.
Oct 23: - One of my colouring pages. I colour to relax.
Oct 24: - Graduating! And of course, me with my husband. Reaching a milestone, accomplishing.
Oct 25: - Books to read, under my bed. Relaxing.
Oct 26: - Cycletouring and cycling in general. Plus travelling. That was taken outside a B&B in Scotland on a long travelling adventure in 2012.
Oct 27: - My favourite road for cycling. This road is such a beautiful road to ride in terms of road quality and scenery.
Oct 28: - Top of a mountain near where my parents live. I climbed it with my husband and one of my cousins. I like climbing to the tops of mountains and feeling like I'm on top of the world. That was on Canada Day in 2017, I think.
Oct 29: - A flower. I love flowers. This one is a peace rose which I especially like. And the picture also represents photography, something else I enjoy.

Our clocks went back this weekend. Of, course, I woke up very early.
In the night I woke up to see DH was reading on his Kindle. Assumed it was nerves about the holiday. He can get real anxiety at some point beforehand.
This morning when I eventually decided to give up on the night, I asked him if he wanted to make us a cup of tea. Then we chatted.
We burrowed down to see what he was worrying about. He always says he is worrying about being worried. At first, he said it was fear of not being able to cope and making a public exhibition of himself. Then we got a bit deeper and I felt we had hit it when he said it was fear of really needing someone to help him and not being able to do it on his own. (He hates asking for help) Obviously, for him, needing someone is the worst thing. Not being competent and able to find his own way. (He was adopted, separated from his twin sister, after months alone in an orphanage) His adoptive mother had severe mental health issues, and often created chaos and worry.
Of course, I said it's OK to need people etc. Did my therapy bit.
I think we got somewhere. His pre holiday anxiety used to be much worse and last longer.
Now breakfast!
