    - Shoot pool?😞
    - Bed early😀

Big shuffle of plans yesterday. V asked if she could come home for the weekend so instead of working from home and riding, showing & shooting pool, I drove to get her. I was happy to do it. It’s nice having her home. She really just wanted to spend time with the dog since he’s sick, but she hung out with us some also. Went to spin class this morning, but just called class, didn’t ride. Did shower when I got home. Note I’m getting my hair done. Adding some brown back in for fall. There odd still blonde, but more of a highlight than the base. While sitting under the dryer I figured I’d, catch up with y’all.

    JFT Saturday
    - Spin at 8:30 😀
    - Shower 😀
    - Hair appointment 😀
    - Laundry
    - Watch football
    - Dinner at home
    - Bed early or whenever I’m done watching football…

Got zero workouts in this weekend. Vanessa decided she wanted to come home to say goodbye to our loyal pooch as he isn't doing well. Hopefully he time left, but with seizures and such, you just never know. Anyway, my bike ride Friday was replaced by a 2.5 hour drive to pick her up and a 2.5 hour drive home. Saturday, I went to spin class, but just called class, didn't ride. Had some wardrobe malfunctions as I wore old leggings due to the lack of clean clothes. Anyway, Saturday was spent on laundry, hanging with my girl and watching football post spin class. Sunday I took her back to campus and we went shopping for some essentials, like food and a new backpack, then had a late lunch before I said goodbye and drove back home. I got home later than I'd hoped, so no exercise.

Today is my mom's birthday. I'll take her out to dinner, but she wants to go at like 5:00 so I may have time to run if I'm not too pooped to pop. Had a lousy night's sleep last night. Went to bed at 11:00, but hubby woke me up around 2:00 when he went to the bathroom. Not his fault, but when I was still awake at 4:00 I was not a happy wife. I finally fell asleep around 5:00, just to get up at 6:30. On an upside I was early for work, and got a decent parking place.

    JFT Monday
    - Dog duty
    - Work early
    - Figure out time cards & changing cost allocations
    - Meetings
    - Call remodeling company about the medicine cabinet. I don't really like the one quoted
    - Dinner with mom
    - Run/walk
    - no alcohol
    - vacuum upstairs
    - Clean throw blankets
    - Bed early

The last few weeks have been super busy both at work and at home, but I finally got some downtime this weekend. My younger son and his partner drove down for the weekend, and we took advantage of the lovely weather to go to a flower festival on Saturday and a winery on Sunday. It was so nice to have time to focus on the two of them and just relax and catch up.

On another note, I've been struggling to re-establish healthy eating and exercise habits. I know I need to carve out time for exercise and be more consistent with logging, but too often the day takes an unexpected turn or I'm swamped with more immediate issues. Recently, I've noticed that emotional labor has affected my focus, energy, and motivation. So I'm going to try to use this week to take stock and work out a plan for getting back on track without burning out.

    JFT Monday 9/18
    Log
    Healthy meals
    Stay under calorie limit
    Hydrate
    Exercise
    2 chores
    Grade diagnostic essays

    13. Therapy thoughts: Prioritizing is hard. There is so much that feels important. I need to talk to my parents about end-of-life plans (particularly funeral arrangements) and I'm not sure how to go about it. I do somewhat trust that they are capable of deciding when they need assisted living but should probably offer help in finding out what sort of place would be best BEFORE it actually becomes necessary. How do you take the hurt out of caring? Identify what I want: to have my professional expertise acknowledged and given the respect it deserves, and to be taken as a legitimate authority.

    14. Just for fun: Start sketching dragon on a pile of books, offering one to the armored knight, & banner that reads "Treasure should not be hoarded / It should be shared." Use AI for ideas.

WFTY: Priorities. I'm trying not to be too discouraged. I feel like there's too much to do to make any meaningful progress on any of it. I said no to a play for Christmas and I wanted to do it but I know it would be overextending myself. And I have to stay late today to work the concession stand at the softball game because each of us gets the "opportunity" to "volunteer" to support the sports teams. (sigh)
2020 WFTY: Progress. 2021 WFTY: Persistence. 2022 WFTY: Focus.

Hi all - it's been a while, as I was off throwing all my hard work into the toilet and regaining 10 pounds over vacation and various summer fun. I had a swath of extended time off which turned out to not be great for my discipline - back at work yesterday, and back at working for my health! I also joined the opposite of this challenge - 100 days logging and weighing. I like that it ends with the New Year...I'm going to my husbands 40th high school reunion around Thanksgiving and would like to feel more confident (I imagine the whispers, "Gee what happened to his wife? She used to look so much better..." which I know is silly since I'm not the center of anyone's thoughts!! Just my own insecurity.)

    JFT
    log all food
    stay within calories
    100 oz water
pool workout with hubby (this gets a CHECK) since we're leaving in a few minutes!

My desk is a mess and I'm trying something new because the old didn't work and now it looks like the work I'm putting into the new is useless and it's not any better and I have nothing that works and I hate myself.
2020 WFTY: Progress. 2021 WFTY: Persistence. 2022 WFTY: Focus.

Didn't write goals for yesterday, but had a good day. Ate fairly well and got in my training ride. I was obviously more spent after the ride than I realized because I forgot to take my bike off the car when I got home. Luckily, I live in a pretty safe neighborhood and nobody bothered it.

Also took mom to the doctor yesterday. Her eyesight is failing and she needs new glasses. She is hesitant, but I'm not sure why. Her Alzheimer's is also appearing to progress. She told me an outlandish story that she really believes happened. I'm not sure if it was a dream or a hallucination, but either way she is mad at me for questioning her. We opted not to get the lung scan this year, because as she told the doctor "I'm not going to quit smoking, so it really doesn't matter." Sigh, I agree with the decision as she had one last year. I think every other year is sufficient as long as she isn't experiencing issues.

Today is trivia night, but it is also the day my MIL will find out she has liver cancer which has at minimum spread to her lymphatic system. Not sure how she'll take it or if she will want to fight it. Depends on how aggressive the cancer is, and this we don't know. My SIL read the doctors notes on-line Saturday and found out, but there are a lot of questions. She decided it was best to let the doctor tell my MIL so they (SIL goes with MIL to doc) could ask questions of him rather than us. It's scary and unknown, but we will deal as best we can. Prayers appreciated!

    JFT Wednesday
    - Work by 8:00 :(
    - Meetings
    - Check in with MFP
    - Maybe leave early and get a walk and shower in before the evening activities, whatever that will be.
    - Trivia or go to MIL's
    - If Trivia:
    - Pizza for dinner
    - Limit 3 beers
    - Maybe shoot pool after trivia, if we go and hubby is up to it
    - If MIL's:
    - Dinner with family, still may order pizza for simplicity
    - Home by 10:00
