    Shoot. It happened. I twisted my ankle playing tennis last Sunday.
    I took easy for Mon/Tue. I have to drive tomorrow to go to a dentist appt. during day, so no bike commute tomorrow either.
    I'm going to be a little behind of 8 miles / day.

    Thank you. I try to always have a camera with me when I ride. I'm on a website where you can submit no more than one picture daily (blipfoto.com), so I'm always on the lookout for my next blip.
    I've cycled 100 miles so far this September, aiming for 300 by the end of the month.

    I always regret not having my camera with me, last couple of days the sunrises and sunsets have been so beautiful. I could use the camera as my excuse for a breather... :happy:

  • I'm new to this blog but I'm very glad to have found it :)

    I started working out about a month ago after noticing my clothing was no longer fitting me like it used to. I'm 28, 5'3 and now weigh 135 lbs. Before I started exercising I weighed about 140 lbs. (At a doctor's appointment, the scale read 143, fully clothed and in the middle of the day).

    I said no way and cut out all the junk food: no soda, chips or chocolate whatsoever! To me, the hardest has been giving up soda. I loved soda and hated water, but I have not cheated. I have not had a drop of soda since the end of August ( I know it hasn't been that long but to me it sure feels an eternity). I now drink more than 8 glasses of water a day and counting my calories (1200 is my daily limit).

    My goal? Weigh 120. I'm 15 lbs. closer to my goal. These are my activities/workouts since the 1st of September:

    1-- 4.5 miles road biking; .5 mile jog
    2-- 5.5 miles road biking; .5 walk with my toddler who LOVES to be only outside!
    3-- 1.25 mile jog; 2.5 mile road biking
    4-- 6.5 mile road biking
    5-- 1.25 mile jog; 2.5 road biking
    6-- 3.25 road biking
    7-- 4.5 road biking
    8-- 5.5 road biking
    9-- 7.25 road biking
    10- 1.5 mile jog; 3.25 road biking

    All this along with weight lifting, squats, lunges, push-ups and abs... I'm a little proud of myself... I wish to continue for years to come! :)

    Please count me in on this challenge

    I recently completed a cycle ride from London to Paris with my wife and I lost in the region of 6llbs in 4- 5 days, this sounds a long way to ride BUT my wife had never cycled that distance before and it was a great journey being able to cycle through the French countryside and then into Versaille http://en.chateauversailles.fr/homepage and then through the forests that surround Paris. Seeing the Eiffel tower for the first time while we were about 10 miles way from the centre of Paris was such a wonderful moment

    My advice to anyone beginning cycling is just start small, ride to the end of your street, road and back again and progress from there

    Adding Tuesday and Wednesday's mileage.

    The heavy rain we were supposed to get (in NM) went to Colorado instead. We're soggy, but not flooding yet. Makes me wish I had some rain gear to ride in -- not buying any until I reach my goal weight because it won't a lot of use here in the desert. =)
