    01/12 -198.2- (Trend weight 199.3)

01/13 -195.8- (Trend weight 198.9) Finally home yesterday and able to take all my meds. Whoosh! Back to logging all my food and it’s making a difference too. Everything will be out the window Saturday and Sunday during far travel and my brother’s 60th birthday party. I plan on having lots of fun without going overboard, but no worries, I’ll be back in the saddle on Monday. And I’m really going to make today count too - I’ve already pre-logged my food for the day.

01/14 -197.2- (Trend weight 198.8) A perfect day yesterday so I’m not sure why the scale is up. The Universe reassessing? No worries. I’m very much on track. It’s probably just my low level of sleep last night, early weigh-in and maybe because I haven’t been getting REM sleep lately? Anyway, I will be hitting the road soon for my brother’s birthday celebration. I can’t wait to see him and my SIL. He is also diabetic and has some very serious heart conditions now (different from mine, but worse to fix). I love being able to travel with my oldest daughter too. She has been dieting so maybe we can keep each other somewhat accountable, even during travel and party. My youngest daughter eats constantly and showers me with food. My older daughter (12 yrs older) is more likely to be concerned with my glucose and encourage me to watch it! I would love to spend more time with her but she is so busy. Teacher’s assistant at our local K-12 school, in college for early education and has 3 children - High school, middle school and kindergarten. Never enough time for mom. I’m just glad that college doesn’t open back up until the 19th and she can go with me.

I try to get as much protein as I can through food, but I do drink Premier Protein drinks on occasion. Are you a bariatric patient? The supplements I am trying to remember to take are my calcium and vitamin D. (I am pretty good about getting a B12 shot once a month.) I broke a rib recently and I am scared about osteoporosis. So I am getting a baseline bone density exam done.

We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.

People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 5 years with amazing results!

This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

We are unstoppable not because we do not have failures but because we continue on despite them. - paraphrase of original quote by Beau Taplin

1/12 127.0 Neighbor took us out to Texas Roadhouse because we “took care” of their house for 6 weeks. I ate a salad with blue cheese dressing, 8 oz steak, and 1 dinner roll. That was my OMAD. Should’ve skipped the roll - it es so sweet even without their cinnamon sugar butter! Day 1 of tracking. More than 90 oz of water.
1/13 125.0 That’s what happens when I cut the carbs. Tracked my food, drank about 90 oz of water. And a 40 oz Coke Zero from the C-store. Day 2 tracked
1/14 125.5 DH wanted to go to breakfast with blind friend but said if I didn’t go, he wouldn’t. I wasn’t hungry but the aromas got to me. I had a patty melt but didn’t eat the fries. By last night my knees were aching as a result of the bread. I’ll survive and today will be better.

@clprieur No, I’m not but my BFF is. She lost 90# and got a boyfriend for the first time in 40 years. He liked to cook and made homemade pasta and she ate. And regained. It makes me sad.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis a few months ago and have been taking calcium + D for over 20 years since I was told I had osteopenia.

Oh dear. It is unfortunately quite easy to do, especially with carbs that go down easy like pasta! I have gained and lost the same 50-60 lbs at least 3 times since I got my surgery in 2005, as I often am not compliant with what I am supposed to be eating, according to the dietician at my surgeon's office in 2005. I am currently lower than I have ever been in my life, since age 13. I am struggling to know where to stop and maintain. Body dysmorphia make it difficult.
