Hi All: I have been eating terrible since Christmas. Gained 10 lbs and so upset with myself. Well today I am starting an accountability thread for myself and anyone who would like to join me.
I am 65 and just had a new grandchild ( 5h one!)this week and want to be healthy so I can watch him grow up.
So here is Day 1! One day at a time.

Gabrielle!! Thank you! I have been a failure and am back on day one. Thank you for joining me. Let's
do this!! That is great you lose quickly. Not me but I feel so much better when I exercise and eat right and do not drink wine! Oh well....it's back to day one. Hope you are doing well?3 -
I'm back......day two. I can do this.3

Day 3! I am doing good. It is the weekends that kill me. Going out of town for a week and I know that is going to be so hard to eat right. One day at a time. Today I can do it.4

I'm in...I posted a long accountability post this morning, but I'm here now too.2

Sandie!Welcome ! I am out of town and will be home tomorrow so I have not been posting . We can do this!2

So, how is everyone doing? I’ve just started back on track a few days ago. F40 5’1 with 30lbs to lose. If y’all are still up to a little accountability posting I’d like to join in:)1
-
Thank you for posting!! You made my day! I am a chronic relapser (not sure that is a word). Anyhow I am back to day one (ugh) weekends are so hard for me. I want to just make it through one week. Once I build some momentum I think I will be OK. Thank you for checking in. I'll try to check in daily and we can all support each other!3

I, too, have relapsed many times. I’ve successfully lost 20-30lbs 3 different times and have managed to gain it back with a little interest each time😬 I am determined to lose it and learn to maintain the loss!
If you bank a little extra calories during the week you might see that being a little freer on the weekend doesn’t effect your weekly caloric average too much. Do you ever look at the weekly caloric average?3 -
Hi everyone, I am new to commenting. I am hoping to get back on track and am on day 2 so I have started the same day as many of you. I am the classic yo-yo dieter, which is so sad. Once I go off tracking I tend to gain so I am going to keep on tracking and exercising. I have a real lot to lose unfortunately. I wish everyone the best of luck!

I’ve been tracking my cals and eating well and drinking more water so I feel like I’m doing well. Stuck on the scale but I’m really sunburned and looks a bit swollen so I may have some water weight hanging around🤷♀️ How’s everyone else today?0

It’s my moms bday weekend and we already ate out At restaurants for lunch and dinner yesterday (and I wasn’t as good as I could’ve been😬) and we have a family thing for her today then my grandmas bday is Sunday so it’s a whole weekend of food and hangouts. I want to be good, I definitely want/need to lose weight, but I also know I don’t make the best decisions when stuff like this is going on. I’m going to try hard to stay on track because a pic taken yesterday made me feel so fat!
Hope everyone else is doing well! What do y’all have going on this weekend?1 -
Just a little thought for eating out. I'm not someone who eats low carb in any way - boy do I love my carbs! But when eating out, it is easier to stay within caloric goal of the day/week when I cut out the carbs there. Skip the bread and ask for and appetizer of veggies with hummus for example, main of meat/fish with veggies and say no to the potatoes/pasta/fries and a coffee with a small sweet instead of a full dessert. Also a glass of champagne instead of sweet or creamy cocktails1

Hi All! Well i did have a slip on Saturday but the remainder of the week I did pretty good. Lost 1lb and I am happy about that (better than gaining one right?) I agree with you Antiopelle....try to stick to low carb when eating out. I really love to eat out but have stopped because I always eat too much and am somewhat picky. I'm not a big meat eater so it is hard to stay away from the carbs. Keep posting and sharing you stories....it helps!1

Did not make the best choices over the last 4 days of bday celebrations…I figured I wouldn’t, but I started my day with a short exercise and I’ve stayed in my cals today so happy to be back at it. There were times in my past that I would’ve been totally thrown off track and not able to pick right back up. My bday is July 6th though and I really want to lose 15lbs by then which is slightly over 1lb a week and I think I can do it if I just stick to the plan!1

Good Morning! My name is Beverly and I have been gradually gaining weight over the past year. I am 65 and am looking for a way to keep myself accountable. I eat fairly well until we take a trip or eat out or have company! I am going to post here every morning if only to say hello or let you know my progress. Friday is weigh in & I will post my weight & how much I have lost since the previous Friday. Will anyone join me in committing to this plan? I will do this for 5 weeks. June 2 will be the last weigh in when I leave for a one week vacation to see my son. See you tomorrow!2

You sound like me ...so many times I get totally thrown off and go on a binge and then then I am so disappointed in myself. This morning the scale showed I was up 1lb !! Ugh...and I thought I had lost one pound. I did not exercise yesterday and did eat well so I will not let it get me down.0 -

Beverly I am in!! I will try to be accountable every day as well. Let's do this. I am same age as you and I do my weigh in each Monday. Weekends are so hard for me. I would like to lose 6 pounds by the time we we go on vacation as well! Still trying to get the Christmas weight off. I am trying for just one pound a week. I did not exercise yesterday either but will today. Will check in tomorrow. Thanks for posting.1 -
Good Morning! Day 1 went very well. My calories were well under my goal. I didn't eat any butter, cheese or sweets which are all my weaknesses. I feel that I am blessed that I really enjoy running. However, I also use it as an excuse to eat more calories. Hubby and I ran yesterday and I attempted the 30 day plank challenge I have been doing since April 2. Yesterday was the first day I couldn't increase the hold from 180seconds to 210seconds. I will try again today. I hope everyone has a healthy day!1
-
Beverly.....thanks for checking in. Glad day one went well for you. I was a runner for many years and had to give it up do to sciatica in my leg. I am going to a neurologist but so far not much is helping. I loved running and miss it so much. I do walk several times a week and swim a few times. Yesterday I was under my calorie count as well. Weekends are my downfall but I plan to get through this weekend unscathed! Glad you are still running and the plank challenge sounds interesting! Good luck everyone ...today will be a good day.1
-
Hello Sarah! Day two was a little harder than day one, but still a good day! I was under my calorie goal.
It was a rest day on my running calendar so I did some strength exercises, which I hate! I was able to do a straight armed plank for 210 seconds. Today I might try the bent arm version because my wrists hurt
more than anything:( Weekends are the hardest for me also, but this weekend WE will stick to our goals.
Today was our long run of 70 minutes but hubby feels like he is getting a cold and it is supposed to rain with sunny weather tomorrow so we moved the run to tomorrow. We live in NW Louisiana, closer to Dallas than New Orleans, how about you? Have a Good Day!0 -
Beverly.....I had a good day yesterday and hope to today as well. I try to plan what I am going to eat ahead of time so I make the right choices. I am not much of a meat eater so I have been eating a lot of salads. I also eat protein bars/drinks to make sure I am getting enough protein. I don't want to lose any muscle at my age...want to keep what I have. That is great about the plank exercises...way to go! I hope you get your run in today. I plan to swim today at a gym I belong to. I always dread getting into the water but then feel so well after I am done. Today it is raining and cool here....this weekend it should be nice. I live in Atlanta. Love this city!! Have a great day and thanks for checking it! We got this!0
-
Hi Sarah! Day 3 and life is Good! I try to plan ahead also, sometimes I get off my plan but keep the calories in range, sometimes not in range:( I grill a lot of our protein once or twice a week and eat it all week. Usually chicken, sometimes tuna steaks, salmon, hamburgers, steaks. Yesterday I bought some turkey smoked sausage for something different. I lost the majority of my weight by eating a salad every day for lunch but I've been having problems with eating too much fiber the day before I run so now I only have one the day before a non run day. I agree with you not wanting to lose any muscle. I would love to be thin but not frail or scrawny!!! I do not have a runners body. I'm 5'1" and curvy (hubby would say big on top!). I weighed 126.4 this morning. I would like to lose 1 pound a week. That will be challenging for 5 weeks but with your help I can do it! My main goal is to stay within the calorie goal I set for myself. What a coincidence that you live in Atlanta. We just flew there last weekend. We flew Friday and did a 5k race in Covington Saturday morning. We went to baseball game Saturday night & Sunday afternoon. When is your vacation scheduled? Have a Great Day!0
-
Happy Saturday Sarah! I missed hearing from you yesterday. I hope you are well. I stayed within my calorie range and did my 70 minute long run in range. I "think" I would enjoy swimming if I had a pool
close to us. We have a membership at Planet Fitness but haven't gone in a long time mostly because we were training for a half marathon which we did in April and we were too tired! Sometimes I did strength training at home. I am sorry to hear about your sciatica. That has to be a bummer. Is it severe? What treatments have you tried? Let's work hard this weekend to stay within our calorie goal ranges, we can do it! I hope to hear from you today. Bev0 -
Hello Sarah! Boy have I missed hearing from you. Hope it is because of fun times! Just checking in today!0
-
Sarah, I thought we would check in every day but I haven't heard from you in several days. I hope you are well and wish you the best in your journey. Bev0

Oh Beverly....I am so sorry I have not been logging in. I have to be honest I failed this weekend on Sunday . Ugh. I was super busy this weekend but I really am going to try to log in every day. On my sciatic I have tried several treatments. Injection, IDD therapy and physical therapy. I have never gone to a chiropractor but I may look into it. It is OK if I don't run but I would like to be pain free when I walk. The pain is not bad just kinda irritating. I just do not want surgery because it is not that bad. I ran several half marathons during the pandemic and I think that is how it happened. Not sure. I am just glad I can walk and swim which I do. Thanks so much for checking in. How did it go this weekend for you? I hope you are doing well. I am a work in progress.....trying again and hoping the month of May will be good for me.0

Hi Sarah! I'm happy that it was just life, that happens to us all. I came down with some sort of "bug", head cold or something on Friday, yuk. But it is a new day, new week and new month so I refuse to use this as an excuse to overeat as I have done in the past. I am having a slight pain in the outside of my knee when I run. It sounds like an IT band issue so I am taking a few days off of running, which I hate but hopefully it will feel better soon. I might go to the gym and see if the stair master irritates it (no promises!) Have a Good Monday!

Hi there! Count me in. I’m 44 & 5’4”. This is my 3rd (4th?) go around with tracking etc. The first time, I did WW for 5-6 months and lost about 20 lbs. Felt good with the weight off but it was tough - I felt like I was borderline starving myself. Then I eventually gained it back and a little more. Then had two kids, was doing ok-ish and then the pandemic hit, we moved far away from my home & family, and and I’ve gained probably 20+ lbs in the last three years 😭 switched to MFP a few years ago when I felt like the lbs were creeping on and I always seem to start strong and fizzle out. This time I really want to be committed for the long haul. I am a former competitive athlete and my body loves exercise, but I feel like my body is totally different than it used to be - I’m much more tired and sore after workouts. I’m also battling anemia and being tested for celiac. It seems really hard to lose any weight at all and I’d like to lose 30lbs ideally. I just completed my first full week of tracking religiously and I think I did so well but I lost zero weight. I got my period today so IDK how much that impacts the scale. Long story short - I am discouraged but going the stick with it! Would love to join a daily check in!1
