Heather so sorry that you have gone through such a rough patch! I hope you heal quickly. Max has quite the imagination!
I’ll be getting ready for another morning bike ride. It’s been getting hot here during the day and evening. We try to go close to 20 miles a day. The heat has been keeping us in during midday. So, that is when we swing the kettle bell. After it cools off, we take a half hour walk during the sunset. I’m glad that my husband is my workout buddy. I am still making and drinking bone broth. The results are apparent on my face now. I would definitely recommend this for anybody that wants to improve their look of their skin, inflammation, and hair growth!! I would say that since I’ve been doing it, my hair has grown 4 inches. Which is extremely fast. Approximately 2 inches each of the last two months. my normal hair growth is one to one and a half inches per month. It does normally grow fast but not this fast! My friends noticed it last Saturday. I had cut off at least 3 inches before we went to Florida and another couple while we were in Florida. Now my hair is way down to my butt again! As far as hair, it’s supposed to even possibly fill in where people are balding. I would agree. I started to get a little bit of that along my forehead. I don’t see it there much anymore. I’m trying to talk my husband into doing it with me because he had lost at least half of his hair due to Covid.
Have a great day, everyone!

I have no idea how the military works but if your son transferred to somewhere else, is he really lost?
As far as Rebecca and Lee are concerned, yes. I knew it was serious when Lee became concerned. He's been all, "he's fine; don't bother him; relax." Or something like that. But I think he finally realizes there really is a problem.
I would say my husband and his eldest son are practically estranged, but were definitely estranged when my stepson was in his 20s and into his 30s. He was active duty air force, and even though they were estranged, he still made sure his father knew where he was deployed. Whenever he moved, he let everyone know. I think Rebecca's son's behavior is not typical.
Hugs to you, Rebecca. I'm just horrified for you.

Joe’s off to echo cardiogram, required by the colonoscopy MD who actually put a stethoscope on Joe and heard a heart murmur. Neither of us have had an MD use a stethoscope or his hands on us since before we left Boise.
Weird weight stuff. The last four days of my recent discomfort, weight stayed absolutely the same. The day of the first relief, it went UP two tenths of a pound. The next morning it was DOWN 2.4 lbs. Back up 2.4 this morning. A reminder to focus on other healthful indicators and not stress about the scale.

Rebecca--I am so sorry about the news of your son changing commands. I guess I thought the service strongly encouraged servicemen to write and keep in touch with family. Pray you get a response soon.
Tracey--I would hire you for sure. We had the leaf guard gutters put on almost 2 years ago. Cost for our whole house was $6000, they replaced all the gutters. It is so nice I do not have to worry about DH climbing on the roof and leaning over to clean them. Worth the peace of mind. Glad they had a good retrieval, pray the next steps go without any problems.
Mary--I tried the bone broth. Cooked in slow cooker on high for almost 48 hours. I could not make myself drink it. Even added carrots and celery. Didn't help. I admire you for taking it.
Barbara -- the shots are a replacement for my metforim and to help with vasculr health as having such bad feet and toe cramps. Nothing else was working. They are doing great on my blood sugar and I hope over time the side effects will lessen and go away. Know stress doesn't help. Also weight was up again this week. This eating is out of control and I know it a coping thing.
The girl could work full time and get insurance from here. Rents are terrible here and she may have a problem with paying that. But she is young enough that she should be able to figure it out.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE

My watch isn’t the latest one, no blood pressure or the other, but I know I’m good in that regard.0 -
Heather I’m so thankful you decided to get an x-ray. I’m also thankful that your fracture can heal without surgery. My similar fall required a rod and pins which I still have, but I knew as soon as I got up that I would need an x-ray.
Barbara, justice vs Just us summary in a spoiler since it’s religious.it started out with the scripture from Micah about live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. It was only 5 minutes. It essentially said Justice behavior requires one to treat people as Jesus did and mentioned his attention to the marginalized. When we practice Just us thinking we only associate with people who look like us, act like us, think like us, vote like us, etc. Then I quoted the love your neighbor scripture and said Jesus did not define neighbor as someone who looked just like us, but rather someone created in the image of God, that is, everybody. It also referred to the litany we had read earlier where we confessed our discriminatory behavior and asked God to have mercy on us and expressed thanks for serving a forgiving God who gave us the opportunity to repent and do better. I didn’t wrote the litany but was provided a copy of it ahead of time, so it helped to make a framework for the devotion.

Welcome newbies and returnees! (((hugs))) to those who need them.
Could also be dust and dirt in the the smoke detectors, Annie! Not kidding! Ours went off for NO reason one spring and our builder friend came over, pulled one down, blew it out and there was DUST everywhere! He just shrugged and said, "It happens." And they're wired in.
Oh Allie, I just loved Gordon Lightfoot too. One of my favorite performers. We saw him back in the 70s at our university. So wonderful and so intimate. He's one of the few artists I enjoy playing on my guitar.
OH NO, Heather! I'm glad your friend insisted, but so sad it's really broken. Prayers that you'll be tip-top for the cruise!
2. Focus on what you can do instead of what you can’t... I try, but sometimes it's other people that get into your head and turn your focus on what you're NOT doing. Gotta work on tuning them OUT!

Barbara I stopped using the TENS unit in January. It’s like any change in your routine. If it is something that takes too much time to do, or doesn’t fit into your schedule it gets dropped. Also my migraines stopped bothering me after using it for a couple months and I have no need to use it unless I start getting headaches again. The broth on the other hand fits in my eating plan and has a lot of positive side affects! In reality it’s like eating like our ancestors did. I’m making meal size portions of different kinds of soups with 2 cups of the broth. I even noticed that the arthritis in my pointer fingers is shrinking. I’ve had that swelling there for 20 years. Also my finger nails were starting to have those vertical ridges in them. They are now diminishing. I’m my own personal science experiment!

Good evening ladies!
Heather glad you have a proper cast so that you can heal.
Yay for happy tulips!
I'm feeling much better today. Yay! But I still skipped my exercise and my PT. Tomorrow I will get back on track.
Tomorrow the solar panels will come off the roof and go in the garage, then Thursday we get a new roof. It will be a huge disruption, but temporary. I hope the weather is fair. Hmm. They might have to turn off our power.

Heather-glad the fracture isn't worse-seems like your bones are in pretty good shape! If you get the plaster cast-will you let the kids decorate it for you?
Another cold, dank day. Work was ok. Brother and his wife in from Florida for quick visit (finishing up with her family clearing house of her sister who passed last year). Met at Fazoli's for dinner with brother and his wife who live here (the brother who had the surgery and has mild cognitive impairment). Was a short visit but nice (some trips are like that). Will try to chat with Fla. brother about his impressions of local. I see further decline in him. There's just a sense of disconnection with him. He is aware of forgetting things mid sentence, so that is a bit sad. We just tell him to let us know when it comes to him.
Heading off to bed to watch some "Curse of Oak Island." Not sure how long I will stay awake! I have been getting in morning walk the lat 5 days (supposed to help with sleep) and it may just all be in my head but it is making a difference. I actually did not get up until alarm went off at 5:30. I can not remember the last time that happened! Don't know how long this will last but plan on enjoying every minute I can!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio6 -
Barbie love the tulips. Some of my tulips came back others maybe not. Still hoping to see some doubles I planted that came up last year. We are two to three weeks behind. My hyacinth did come up and are blooming. They are my favorite because of the smell.4

Barbara—So far I haven’t seen any hummingbirds here in Illinois. I’ll keep watching but haven’t had any success. Perhaps it is too early in the season. If I spot a hummingbird I will tell everyone I know. 😉
Pip— I watched the Weather Channel, and we were lucky, with little dust. There was more trouble near Chicago with its heavy traffic. We’re lucky enough to be far from heavy urban traffic. The air quality here was okay for me, but bothered some of my friends. 😳
Barbie— Your tulips are Gorgeous! 🌷
Annie— Good luck with the new roof. I hope the solar panels will get back to work as soon as possible. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I fad a wonderful red sunset out my windows this evening. The shades of color ranged from red and gold, to shades of blue. Lovely! 💖

Barbie: Thanks for the inspirational launch.
Heather: What a scare :😨 So glad you got yourself to the clinic and the mending has begun. I know this sounds weird, but cat's purr is supposed to be a frequency that helps with healing bones. I found a free "cat purring" app and it helped with my broken ankles and foot.
My April went out with a bang. Literally. I was climbing over the short wrought iron railing that separates my concrete deck from my river rock backyard. I must have zigged when I should have zagged because in a blink I was dangling off it with one knee barely holding on to the top. I went down on the rocks landing on the back of my head and base of my spine. Total drop was less than 12 inches, and I was able to get myself back up and inside. My tenant Matthew was home and rushed out. He got me a cold pak and watched me like a hawk. I alternated sitting with walking because I just didn't want my back to stiffen up. My head seemed fine. No blood or bruising. None of the signs of concussion. Used ice and heat for a few hours. I slept okay that night, but next morning got myself to clinic where they took xrays. Nothing broken! The doctor did encourage me to get the pneumonia vaccine and part one of the shingles vaccine. I've been ducking these for 2 years, but they got me in a moment of weakness. I rarely have bad reactions to shots, but these two, on top of back stiffness, really hit me hard. Spent last two days feeling lethargic and listless. Hope that tomorrow I can at least get in a shower and short walk. It only hurts when I am getting up from bed or a chair. Ditto what Margaret said about arnica. I've been using the homeopathic pills in combination with the gel. May get in a chiropractic treatment later this week.
Lesson learned. Slow down. Accept help and expertise. Treasure my health and especially my mobility. Feeling lucky, grateful and as Heather said, humbled.
Stay WELL friends. We can do this.

Got some sleep. Yes, all round I'm counting my blessings.
I know there are some very frustrating times to come. I'll have to work out a different exercise regime and find a way to keep my bicep toned. No rowing! No push ups! Ballroom dancing and jive a bit awkward.
I'm going to have today off, apart from some recumbent bike, as my arm will still be in a sling, but I'll definitely get back to it tomorrow and do what I can.. My ribs on the same side, left, are sore.
Ginny - I'm genetically blessed with good bones. Considering I fell, at running speed, from a height of a foot, I think things could have been worse. It was my Bank Holiday miracle that there was no traffic coming on a busy dual carriageway. Ugh!
I still have flashbacks.
I will have to ring Saga for the insurance cover, (otherwise it invalidates the insurance) and I hope the hospital will let me get into a velcro splint by then. Those of you who have done something similar will know how awkward it is only having one hand! I haven't flossed my teeth, but I think I can now because I have less pain wiggling my fingers,. Pain messes with your head too. Decisions become too much trouble!
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -
