Tracey--No words just big HUGS!!
Kim--So happy for you on both points.
Katla--Good luck at the doctor today, hope she is someone you really like.
I am only working 3 hours tomorrow as our daughter is graduating college at 10. Sure hope she decides to get a job now.

Got messages from dh when I got out of class last night(send during class but I don't check my phone then). He had fixed the sliding glass door-I had told him while he was at his mom's that it was messed up and I would help him when I got home from class. I would have helped before class but he didn't come home until I was leaving. SO, the messages were, he fixed the door BUT left it open, just for a minute and two of the cats got out. He asked son to help and he didn't come help so he was mad.
Got my kitten in pretty quickly- he was sitting up in the catnip. The other I got back in an hour later- same trick as always- open the catio door but close the bedroom window so no more cats can get out. He was in the catio not long after dark so I ran out, closed the door and then opened the window so everyone could go back in the catio. Not a huge thing because I have had to do it too many times. The little escape artists!!
DS was in one of his moods- happens every 3-4 months or so. Just shuts down- sleeps all day/night. It is a lot better than it was when he was in his teens. Now it is just one day and we know to just let him sleep- bugging him just makes it worse. Dh knows that but was still really mad at him.
Today I am off work.My usual day off. Dh is at his mom's now, going to lunch with Nick today, was supposed to go to the movies with a friend after going back to his mom's for her dinner. Great for me. A whole day to myself. The friend cancelled so he won't be going to the movies. I will enjoy the time I do have.
Plans are working in the garden, need to get things ready to plant or planted. Need to get mom's Mother's day gifts together. I will go up there tomorrow afternoon and spend most of the weekend.Coming home Sunday morning to go to a wedding at 2 for dh's co-worker.3 -
Oh ladies please keep poor Tracy on your thoughts and if your a praying person do that too
She called me in tears ,she asked me to come pick up Carmine because she is out of control ,screaming and yelling both of them in front of Miles and that gets Miles upset..
I told her I could pick her up, but ahe would do the same thing to me..I think Tracy isn't getting enough sleep, work is getting tougher and dealing with a hormonal teenager is rough,I know most of us went through it.But Kyle is at work and she can't keep calling him at work..
So Ugh I just dont know what I can do to help the poor girl out.6 -
Welcome newbies and returnees! (((hugs))) to those who need them.
Rebecca, I just don't even know what to say. I've been reading this and alternating between crying for you and RAGING at how thoughtless he's being. I really just don't understand some children. I'm so sorry.
(Kim, I'm thinking if we ALL gang up on him, we could do some heavy-duty yankin' as Lisa suggests! LOL)
Falling is truly my WORST FEAR! Hope you both heal quickly, Heather and Rori!
I'm so sorry Tracey. I love my job, just really don't like some of the people I work with or work for. I can't imagine what you're going through though. It sounds just horrible and I totally understand not being able to leave. Sending positive prayers for whatever that means for you.
OMGosh Kim!!! What wonderful news on both counts! Such an honor to be asked to officiate a wedding of a dear friend and I'm really glad your mom seems to be trying.
4. Send a friend a photo of a time you enjoyed together... interesting, okay, I'll have to look around and find something.
Love and Blessings, Carla, in MN0 -
Heather - I had to Google Hubris. Sometimes those checks from the universe really do “knock us down a peg”, as my grandmother used to say.
Sorry that you have a fracture, hopefully it doesn’t disrupt your cruise. You’ve been so looking forward to it.
Annie - I would change the batteries in the fire alarm to be safe.
Mary - do you have to drink the bone broth? Is there a way to get it without tasting it?
Barbara - I am printing copies and bringing them home. I need to go back and add some notes from conversations too. Very little of this is in writing, she’s too clever for that.
You’ll have those protections for the next storm, then it’s in the right order. 🐎
Vicki - I don’t know how some of these young people ever get started. Rents are astronomical and they don’t make much yet.
Annie - is your home all solar powered?
Rori -glad you don’t have any breaks.
Ginny - what a mess with that explosion.
Kylia - years ago I tried the transition lenses and never did get used to them. I think one reason is because I craft so much and colours need to be true. They turned to easily on me.
Machka - I have never had to have my eyes dilated either. However, DH had to have his done the first time he saw the eye doctor. They were looking for a specific thing that can occur in diabetics.
The stress I’m experiencing at work right now is causing my BP to rise. I’m on a very mild BP med but she may need to up it.
I do not set goals or do To Do Lists.
However, if there is a deadline or something coming up I will meet that deadline. I am pretty neat and tidy so I tend to putter a lot to keep things tidy.
Barbara - I think I would be more than a teensy bit resentful. I worked hard for a long time to lose weight and DH only wanted junk. When he decided to get healthy and start eating better he expected me to change every food brought in the house. I was angry!
Allie - you had me curious, that piece in the Today show is on YouTube. I see what you mean about one looking like Rebecca’s son, but a lot of them looked similar to me. Maybe it’s the uniform and moustaches.
Debbie - Desiree is in my prayers.
I’m surprised, they wouldn’t even do my DH’s eyes unless he could prove he had a driver.
Bluey is actually a kids show I don’t mind. “Tactical wee” is funny!
Evelyn - have a wonderful trip. I was thinking this morning that I wish. Had some skorts. I have to check Costco.
You son is in SK correct?
Security guards are not supposed to donate uniforms, they are supposed to return them to the company for proper disposal. Some have been found in thrift stores and in garbage bins by homeless. I remember getting a call from the police that one of our uniforms was used in a robbery. So sad.
Lisa - I’m going to have to find those muddy bites. It’s better than the Drumsticks I’ve been buying. 😂
I have been struggling terribly about denying my cravings so I’ve been getting what I want.
The only good thing is I don’t keep my favourites in the house. I have to be willing to go get them and a lot of times I’m too lazy.
I cried at work for almost an hour yesterday. I’m sure my supervisor is being used as a pawn in a game to make me leave and doesn’t know it.
SHE was in today but didn’t speak or acknowledge me again. I don’t know if it’s good or bad.
For those of you looking for a good show, you could try Alaska Daily. No word on a Season 2 but Season 1 was really good.
I have been complaining since our daughters wedding about my hip and back after falling in the bouncy house. I had started to do a lot better in December/January but the travel day back from NB had me all locked up again and I was in a lot of pain.
Last night I had my 4th massage therapy appointment and I wish I would have tried this route years ago. I am still in a bit of pain but better than I have been in years.
Tonight I was able to cross my legs for the first time!
Evelyn - security companies used to hold pays hostage too. They made that illegal here in AB though. Also, can’t charge employees for uniforms now. I think it’s a positive step myself.
Allie - I think every child and teen does more for others than they do their mothers because they know their Mom will be there.
Poor Tracy - maybe she needs to go to a parenting class to help her learn how to help Miles and Carmine. Carmine needs a lot of love and encouragement. He’s going through a very difficult time.As many of you know my SIL is transgendered, his mother told me that the anger he went through was petrifying. She is a professor of psychology and still struggled with it. When he finally admitted that he wanted to have the surgeries and they supported him 100% without trying to change him the whole house felt the relief they have a very close relationship now.
I don’t know for sure but from what you have said, they keep trying to make Carmine be something he’s not and isn’t supporting him 100%. He will continue to be angry because he wants to be loved for who he is like all of us.
Annie - I hope your roofing job is only one day. It’s a lot of noise for sure.
Kim - what an honour to be asked to officiate their wedding. I’m glad your Mom is using some manners.
Lisa - as I write this I am at my doctors office to get some advice.
SHE was in again today and I just pretended nothing was wrong. I didn’t give her an opportunity to need to speak to me.
I also had a response from one of the jobs I applied on today. I have to do a pre screening, which I’ll do this evening.
Rodger offered to go to work for me and punch her in the mouth. 😂 Leave it to a man to resort to violence first. In seriousness though, we have reached an agreement that he’ll support any decision I make to get out of there, he doesn’t like how I’m being treated. Financially, I’m just not in a place I can walk without something to go to.

Tracey yeah, I don't think what the housecleaning company was doing was totally legal, but most of the staff were young women who either didn't know better or wouldn't stand up for themselves. They went thru staff very quickly sometimes, the work was physically harder than a lot of them thought it would be.
Allie, I do feel for Tracy and Carmine and you! As I said before, wish I had some words of wisdom for you!
At the school with the grands, lovely play area for themalthough it's bigger so harder to keep track of them. Need to go reprimand dhd now!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island2 -
Tracey- thats just it,Carmine is so confused she is dating a boy,so she is back to a she,but still dresses like a sloppy boy and still goes by Carmine not Taliah
Tracy is sleep deprived and trying to deal with everything and its getting on her last nerve.. im hoping she doesn't end up having a nervous breakdown like her dad did.
Well good news and bad news..
Bad news first.. got a call from my friend Dave the one im going on the cruise with and his girlfriend, well they are canceling she is back to drinking.. he went over there because Linda's mom fell down and she couldn't pick her up and he is just fed up.
So I guess its me myself and I.
And I got the gaul up and booked a cruise on Celebrity Cruises for Oct 2024 solo again...
Ahhh why not.. its refundable just in case doesn't have to be paid off until July of Next yr.4 -

Carla, in MN, I appreciate you. Its beyond me, the why of it all. Its now out of my hands, can't even send him boxes or letters. Lee and I will keep our eyes open for the advancement results, band along with listing the sailors that made rank, it shows what command they're with. So that's encouraging. I will just have to continue to do me, keep an open heart about it all. I can't insert anger in this, just roll around the good memories in my mind, when I am missing him.

Today’s dermatologist appointment was a good experience. I am pleased with the doctor and the treatment to remove a mole that was changing. I had the mole removed today. I feel BETTER!!! 👍🏻 😊

Allie - can Kyle get up with Miles for a couple of nights so Tracy can sleep? I know he works too, but surely he could do it a bit too.
I was so fortunate, my parents and in laws wanted our girls for the night quite frequently. Rodger drove truck so was barely home. They helped me keenly sanity. When I see my daughter getting overwhelmed I take the kids for a night.
I had my doctor appointment today. She actually urged me to go in sick leave. I didn’t accept a letter from her today, but she told me if it continues she wants me to do it.
I also had an email to complete some pre screening for a job I applied for last week with an airline.
I want to make sure I have all of my ducks in a row before jumping the gun.
At least now I know I just need to make a call.
Just knowing that is a relief.

No he gets upset when Miles wakes him up, so Tracy sleeps on the couch with Miles on top of her and he will toss and turn so she is lucky tto get 4 hrs of sleep a night.
Kyle leaves around 6:25 in the morning and I get there right after so Tracy doesn't have to get Miles in the car to get Carmine to the bus stop.
Rich ,Tracys dad had a nervous breakdown when I was 9 months pregnant with Dan ,it wasn't great...thank goodness for his parents who kept us afloat.
Well its 2 am here and here is hoping I can get back to sleep.6 -

That's good.
Here, you could go on Worker's Compensation for a couple weeks if your mental health is suffering from some aspect of the job.
Have you contacted the labour board as well?

Kim - I hope you enjoy the new episode of Food Glue. My elder son, Tom, has made the Coronation Quiche to try. He enjoyed it, but says the recipe is a bit vague. I am an ardent anti-royalist, so a bit surprised, but he likes to experiment! I really must go up to visit
Love you all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
Tracey-good to hear you have a supportive doctor. The airline job sounds interesting. I think you have some positives going on-that can make it easier to cope. If you go on sick leave there does the company give paid time off?
Kim-hope your mother's attitude change lasts for a bit longer. Proud of you standing up and speaking your mind, Sometimes that is very hard for us to do-especially to a parent.
Rebecca-at least now you have an idea of where your son is. Strange behavior but also could have nothing to really do with any of you. Sometimes all we can do is stand back and love them and wait for them to find their way. When our YS was tied up in a very bad relationship and making poor decisions I kept telling DH to say nothing and wait because our boy was still in there somewhere-and he was.
YS did call last night and said we might have to cancel our Mother's day/his birthday cookout Saturday. When I asked what was wrong he said DIL had not heard from her dad in a few days (he lives near them). She went over to check and found him dead. Don't know any other details. I am on standby for whatever assistance I can provide. So very sad.
Work from home day today.

First big quarterly report at new job is complete!
It's been a long, busy week.
Yesterday over 100 emails came into my Inbox at work!
Now, over the next couple months, I've got a project to work on: make creating this big quarterly report a quicker and easier process while obtaining more detailed data.
First thing I did after I hit submit ...
I signed up for a course!!
My whole unit has decided to take this course so the unit is paying for it and we'll do it during work time.
I see the coronation is on from 4 pm for the rest of the evening tomorrow. The previous coronation happened almost exactly 70 years ago!

Good morning ladies!
Kim that's great that your mother's attitude has improved some.
Tracey good that you have a break if you need it. Good luck on your interviews!
Allie sorry about your cruise partners cancellation. And best wishes to Tracey and Carmine.
Ginny so sad about younger son's FIL.
I am so grateful for this quiet moment. The workers will be back soon to put the solar panels back up on the new roof. But for now, it's just me and a distant crow cawing.
I texted with a friend last night who is starting a new phase of her diet journey. It made me realize how much I've learned here from you all. Thank you ladies for your support and advice!

Ginny: My sympathy on the passing of your DIL father.
Evelyn: I hope it warms up on Vancouver Island
Grandmallie: What will Carmine do this summer? Is she/he old enough to work?
Mary: Never been to San Diego: Enjoy your trip!
Heather: Is it your anniversary? Hope DH felt better after his game of cricket.
Machka: I hope the CKD doesn't progress. Certainly with the cycling you get enough exercise! I like mandarins as well.
Annie: Hopefully this roofing job can be done in a day!
Kim: Great news about your Mom being more appreciative
Rebecca: You haven't gained weight so that is a good thing! Weight loss is hard. I have not lost any weight since my husband passed in late February. I haven't gained...but haven't lost.
Lanette: Glad the cat is okay! Great about getting new gutters and a leaf guard!
Tracey: I will pray that the job with the airline is offered to you and works out!
I plan to attend a book group after I work at the Rescue on Wed. I haven't quite figured out how I am going to clean up from working at the rescue before going to the book group. The book is Tattoos on the Heart which was written about 2010 and is about a priest who works with youth in gangs in Los Angeles. He has some inspiring stories! I should be walking now, but may go and lay down for another hour. I am getting highlights put in my hair this morning and meeting with the attorney this afternoon. Then the yard man is going to help put my drapes back up in the family room. So nothing exciting happening here, but going along!
Best,
Rosemarie from Georgia4 -
Weigh-in was down a tenth of a pound. Not bad for a week of no exercise, a cold, my computer being up and down, and the roofing.
Today I have PT and I have to kick myself back into exercise mode so that next week will show a loss.

We picked up our pots.
This is my new thrown posy vase, to go with the tea light holder I made before.
And the mug with pencils on it is DH'S new one. My square pinch pot is for nuts, to go with the rwo previous ones for olives and chips. The painting is a quick one I did when Edie was here!
Also got lots of Italian fennel sausages and meatballs. Unfortunately, because it's summer, they didn't have the tweed cap DH was after.
I managed it all, despite everything taking me twice as long and being twice as tiring. Even walking along the street, you have to avoid people bumping into you. Buses present their own challenges. This is all a good lesson.

Rosemarie- she is 15 and I already brought that up we have 2 farm stands in town she could work for.. and I asked if she was going to apply and she said why would I
do that? 🙄 I said money..
The way things are looking she will end up going to summer school anyway..she has no motivation and is just nasty to everyone except Seth.
If it was Tracy doing this I wouldn't let her go to the Prom.but who am I to say...
