Hello, I’m Amanda, a crazy cat lady from Michigan. July is already here! This is a wonderful, supportive, non-judgemental bunch!

    SW: 250
    CW: 199 (as of 6/29)
    July GW: 199

    7/1: DNW
    7/2: DNW
    7/3: 198.6
    7/4: 198.6
    7/5: 198.6
    7/6: 198.6
    7/7: DNW
    7/8: 199.6
7/9-7/19: fell off the face of the earth
    7/20: 201.6
My clothes and my lymphedema are telling me I’m gaining so I’m very surprised at a mere 2 pound weight gain. I’m trying not to be troubled by being out of Onederland.
    7/21: 200.8
    7/22: 200.8
    7/23: 199.9
I actually changed my July goal from 195 to 199 a few days ago-is that cheating? Will the MFP rulers come and strike me down? 😵
    7/24: 200
Whoops! I overslept this morning so I couldn’t post but I’m trying to show up every day. It was one heck of a Monday!
    7/25: 200.8
    Yuck.
I have today off work but actually have 5 appointments, 3 of them being medical. Let the fun begin!
    7/26: 199.9
Like @jm216 said boing boing boing!
    7/27: 198.6 (!)
Ladies, I dont know what I did to have the Gods smile upon me but not only did I have a woosh during the night, I woke up for the first time in about 10 months without being in excruciating pain! It feels so nice!
    7/28: 199.4

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 63 years old and from the Michigan USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

Starting Weight (from June 30th): 198.2
    Goal: (Five lb Loss) 193.2
    Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx

Mini challenge: My monthly goal is always about 5 pounds per month. HOWEVER, I never seem to make that. I will continue to keep that goal because it Should Be achievable (even though it is not for me) but never say never, right? So, Between Independence Day Holiday (July 4th) and Labor Day Holiday (Sept 4th) I will weigh somewhere, ANYWHERE in the 180’s. I don’t care if it’s on the brim. I’ve got to start getting further away from the 200’s again! Starting Weight on 7/4 is 195.4.

**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

07/27-194.6-(Trend Weight 196.0)- I stayed within my calorie margins but was over on carbs. TMI would also help. Hot, hot, hot here today for Michigan. No air conditioning so I pulled the cooler air in all night in anticipation and the curtains are closed today. I was going to go out of town to shop but I already feel like a wet rag that is only partially wrung out so home I stay! I will have no problem getting in my strength training but to get my heart rate up in exercise could be dangerous in this house or outside. If I do anything, it will be if we get any relief tonight.

07/28-194.8-(Trend Weight 195.8)- Just a slight fluctuation probably due to no TMI yesterday or this morning. I’m very pleased with the way my trend weight has been coming down. I’m not quite sure why I lost so much more weight last week than this week. I’m going over my logged foods and seeing that I ate less avocado this week and more starches (pasta or potatoes) although it all fit into my macros and allowances for both calories and carbs. How a diabetic handles these and stores this as fat makes a difference for me, even when I don't want to accept it. I will limit that this week and go back to my standard sides more often. I am also going to tweak my MFP goals again to get a better balance of calories/carbs. Logging everything and being able to look back on it really helps!

Just logging in makes me focus more. Still 170, still doing IF and keto but much more precisely keto.

Travelers from Austria Germany and New Jersey had their stolen luggage and personal papers dumped in front of our house today. We spent a lot of time doing detective work based on their papers to get in touch and get their things returned and/or picked up by police. My empathy kicks in rather strong and makes me feel upset...but the actual sweetness of the tourists really reminds me how good people are.

Hi, Everyone! I am a 5'4", 45 year-old married female with four kids. I am a two-time cancer survivor, which put me into Early Menopause, and also have Hypothyroidism. I am currently dealing with sciatica and muscle deconditioning, which means I need to focus on calories in and out while I am recovering by building flexibility and strength through physical therapy. I have had a rough couple of months with my current muscle issues, losing my grandmother, losing my job, and my husband trying to recover from cervical fusion surgery, but I am grateful to have a new month to start again and keep the hope alive!

    Goals for July:
    1. Find a great new job and enjoy this extra time with my kids.
    2. Create a meal plan for myself and my family.
    3. Daily PT and walking.
    4. Organize and minimize my house and belongings.

    Weight Tracking for July:
    7/01: 190.7
    7/02: 188.5 - Surprise there.
    7/03: DNW

@joans1976 - What you wrote is what I have been thinking about these past two days. I too am now 46, so things are slowing down, but I also think losing so much muscle mass from our cancer treatments has added to slowing down our metabolisms. Just a few days of being over 1100/1200 calories is making me pack the weight back on again. Buy after looking at the charts of @jm216 and @gomifune, I think these ups and downs might be normal fluctuations that we need as we try to lose weight.

I wonder if after a certain age for some women if the standard 1200 calorie diet is accurate. I know this is supposed to be the minimum for losing weight but I don't think that works for everyone.

July 26: 185.2 I have a tough week coming up. Friends from college moved to FL a couple of years ago. When they come back home for a visit they stay with us. They are arriving this afternoon and will be here a week. They are big eaters and drinkers. They know that I am on a goal to get healthy, but . . . . I am excited to see them, but feel the pressure already. Wish me luck.

The other day the doctor said (for me) to make sure I am eating enough. She said gone are they days when I could restrict calories (meaning 1000 or 1200) for a few days and lose 5 pounds. I kind of remember doing that when I was in my 20’s and *thought* I was overweight and honestly I’ve tried it a few times in my older age. It doesn’t really work anymore. I lose maybe 1/2 a pound. I feel like a salty meal can affect my weight by 3 pounds now!
@BittersweetVita I am going to start something called “cancer rehab” and from what I can gather it addresses physical and emotional issues from dealing with cancer. I know I’ve lost muscle and I definitely want to ask about my arm with lymphedema, I’ve been babying it but to what detriment?

    7/28: 199.4
    7/29: 199.4
I get stuck here a lot.
I have 2 days off here and want to make the most of them! After that, only 4 days of work then vacation!

    Hi ladies,

I’ve been missing in action a little lately. My diet is off the rails and I don’t know why. I have been very busy babysitting my grandkids this week. It does tire me out but I really don’t know why I can’t focus on my eating.

I’m still cooking healthy dinners, but eating too much at night I’m scared. to stand on the scale, but I’m going to try tomorrow.

I haven’t been able to swim or do my stretching class this past week and I’m wondering if that has affected my whole outlook on eating. This really is silly because it’s very serious for my health right now. Every pound I lose is significant to my future health and I know that. I’m annoyed with myself right now.

Hopefully, I’ll be back to normal tomorrow. I’m babysitting 3 more kiddies today. It’s miserable weather here, and can’t go outside , but helping out my daughter who’s trying to take a course. I may just take them to Costco for lunch.

07/29-194.6-(Trend Weight 195.7)- Boy oh Boy was I EVER TEED OFF last night, and still yet today. I bought 3 cases of Lipton Green Tea Citrus for a refreshing drink in the heat. I have been drinking them off and on for a couple of weeks now. I THOUGHT I bought the diet version that I’ve bought before. Last night when my daughter picked up my DGS (after I babysat) I offered her some and she checked the label for aspartame which she is allergic to. The 2nd ingredient was sugar. REAL SUGAR. I had to see for myself, and I went through the roof! The 100 calories I could live with, but it had 33 carbs for the bottle. 33, my friends! That comes uncomfortably close to my goal for the entire day! How in the world did I buy the regular and not diet? Were they on the wrong spot on the shelf? Was I in that big of a hurry that I just didn’t pay attention? Luckily I love to eat my sweets, not drink them so I have not had one every day, but I have had one 2 or 3 times per week for weeks and weeks now. This may have caused a few of my stalls! It certainly has affected my glucose numbers. Anyway, I sent them all home with my daughter so she can sneak a little healthy green tea in from time to time. She’ll prolly take them to work as she works in a hot factory in Quality Control. I had one yesterday too, before I knew. Weight fluctuated back down so I’m grateful for that. Overall I’ve done better this round, but how much better could it have been this round or the previous couple of rounds? I’m still SEETHING!

I babysit my grands too and I can attest it is HARD work at our age and it does tire you out. Don't be too hard on yourself. Do the best you can and know that babysitting the grands is important and special time. Just keep your focus on your goals and what you know is right with your diet and don't let slip ups dictate your mindset. Just evaluate what you did and try to improve each day. You got this!

I agree we should eat enough on a daily basis but I wonder if some people require less than 1200 calories on a daily basis to lose weight. I guess I hate anything that is a standard for everyone. I really feel like everyone is so unique and don't always fit in the box that is put out there as the way it is for all.
