Very cool @chris_in_cal . Did you see where Senbere Teferi veered off course in the Peachtree Road Race and it cost her thousands of dollars? https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/04/sport/peachtree-road-race-senbere-taferi-spt-intl/index.html
Great running and storm dodging @Mari33a .

Hi everyone!
So, my race went well. I knocked off 2:15 from last year’s time and basically finished in exactly my goal time. Also, given my past month I was happily surprised that I could keep up the pace I was holding, even though it was a bit slower than my last race. The city was packed with people and there was so much energy in the air. I think I mentioned that the run was 3 laps around the city center. That meant I had to plan my position to give my kids a high five every lap. That was fun! My son and friend’s daughter also enjoyed their races. The hard part was finding them at the finish line. We had celebratory race/start of summer vacation pizza afterwards. It was a nice evening. Also, the weather was perfect- it rained and stormed all morning, but by the afternoon the storm had passed.
So far for July I’ve got 36.8/150km.8 -
@chris_in_cal Congrats on the new PR! 40 secs is a good drop in pace for a 5k!
@Teresa502 I hope your dad gets better soon. Very pretty pics from your hiking!
Well done @Laurz9191!! That's quite an improvement!0 -
July total: 28.3/100 miles
7/1: 5.2 miles
7/2: 4.1 miles
7/3: 6 miles
7/4: 10 miles
7/5: 3 miles
Short pre-work recovery run today. My legs were protesting a little but felt a little better by the end. Rest day tomorrow.
In lieu of running, I will be doing laundry and packing tomorrow evening. I'm getting excited for our vacation and some time away from work!7 -
Great race @Laurz9191 ! Sounds like a lot of fun too!
Great running @martaindale ! Enjoy your vacation!

@Laurz9191 congrats on your race! Yes that is a huge improvement!
@quilteryoyo that is actually sad about the girl who went off course in the Peachtree Road race. My brother and niece ran in that race yesterday. He said it was probably the most humid race he has ever ran in!
I just did 6 TM miles after work today.5 -
July Goal: 115 Miles
7/1: 1.26 miles
7/2: 11.11 miles
7/3: 6.25 miles
7/4: 2.04 miles
20.66/115 miles completed for July
I just realized that I typed this up last night but never posted, so here it is.
I ran 6.25 miles this morning. It was a nice enough, but mostly uneventful run. I did catch the sprinklers by the courthouse. I think they are running them a little earlier this summer because most of the time they have just turned off when I run past them.
I am fixing to head out for my run today. Hopefully I'll get it posted later. 😁
Great job on your race @Laurz9191 !

Oh well. Got in a nice 4.52 @ 08"45
@Laurz9191 well done Laura! Killed it 🙌
@polskagirl01 hahaha... Was it you? Lol
Someone has taken preemptive measures here before I get to the US and start uploading pics of Creampuffs, Cheesecake factory et al 🤣5 -
Ran last night and again this morning, got both done just before the rain. I used the 'headlights' tip to help my posture for the last part of my run.
04/07 3.60 miles
05/07 3.60 miles
06/07 3.65 miles
10.85/50 miles
Hope u have a great holiday @martaindale
Hope your dad is getting better @Teresa502

7/1: 3 miles
7/2: 3 miles
7/4: 3 miles
7/5: 3 miles
Total: 12/60 miles. Tonight, I'm planning on 4 miles. My goal is to do it in about 44 minutes, but we'll see how it goes.5 -
My workplace had a healthy team building "Virtual 5K Challenge" so I ran it for fun to be a team player.
My running big picture is still this Garmin Coach training plan for a Sept. 30th 10K. For the coaching I set a 10K goal of 1:15:00 (Actually 1:15:00 is the slowest 'goal time' they allow to create one of their training plans.)
I just looked at an online race calculator it says with yesterday's 5K time I'm at 1:19:00 10K fitness right now. So, I'll keep plodding along for a few more months.
My mantra? Have fun, keep at it, lose some damn weight, and don't get injured.
July Running Goal: 16 runs, 60 miles- July 4 -3.11 miles 37:51 race clock time
- July 5 -3.79 miles

haha @AlphaHowls that looks more like a bear trap than a nephew. 😂😳😂
Quick check in before my next zoom work call,
Plugging along. My injury actually seems better with increasing the mileage. go figure. I even went a day without any excedrin and only took 1/2 one yesterday mid afternoon at work for a headache coming on vs my back. 😊
@tarun_yadavA are you trying to do pictures from your phone or on a PC. I usually only use my PC for forum stuff.3 -
@SummerSkier phone. But it's never been an issue before0
-
So freaking 🥵
Can't stand to even walk outside to go to my truck.
Eeked out 6 TM miles after work.7 -
@Scott6255 I saw the lady going off course on the news. It was sad because I guess she was focusing on the "lead" motorcycle and so when it turned the curve, she did too. I'm sure she was devastated when she realized what she had done. Great treadmill running.
Great running @kgirlhart .
Great run @tarun_yadavA . Can you ask why it was suspended? I'd want to know what I did.
Your nephew is cute @AlphaHowls !Enjoy!
Great running @Zaxa2021 ! I hope your run went well tonight.
You're doing great @chris_in_cal ! You'll improve before Sept!
Great running @SummerSkier ! I'm glad your back is feeling better.
