Lanette
SW WA State - where some rain is expected tomorrow. Hope it doesn't poop out, lol.
They didn't stay at my house very long- Filled them this morning and put them in the freezer for an hour then took them right to church. Came home with an empty container(and I took all but 4 of the 6 dozen with me)
I do have some of the filling left but not very much.
Now I keep thinking of other flavors to try with all the seasonal fruit we have. Peach or raspberry or blueberry or black berry-so many that sound good to me.
One of the guys at the table I was sitting at split one with his wife then went back up and got 3 more!!
Next time I will make more and if I have room in the freezer, I can do them the day ahead and freeze them. They would be defrosting while we are in church.
Evie- the flowers are beautiful. The gift card to a place you like is better than something you will not use
Pip- if you were closer, I would gladly share- what flavor or flavors would you choose? Any other suggestions??
Kim- I would love to see fireflies too. I never saw them when I lived in Mobile. We just had fire ants and "no-see-um's"
Got a text from Ezie's mom.
Looks like they will not be pulling her from daycare AND not only do I get her two days a week but she is changing her work schedule so I have her the two days I asked for. I will be making less than half of what I was but I am ok with that and dh is happy to not be loosing the tax write offs.
Dinner tonight for me was salmon, teriyaki tofu and a green salad. I will have a peach and a cup of sweet and spicy tea in a little bit.
Dh ate pizza at his mom's and son is out with friends at a movie.
He can have salmon, rice(I skipped the white sticky rice-not a fan of it unless it is covered with furikake) and the tofu when he gets home and dh can have some if he gets hungry later before going to bed.

Rebecca – I just read about a book “Save What’s Left” by Elizabeth Castellano. The writeup says “After Kathleen Deane’s husband tells her he wants to end their 30-year marriage, she flees to Whitbey, a small beach town her childhood friend Josie has always described as idyllic”. I thought of you
Lanette - I am going to join your weight listing next week. I like to work in averages and didn’t track them last week. I started this morning.
Kelly - my girls were not allowed to eat except at the table 95% of the time. Sometimes when DH was on the road, I was exhausted and they didn’t have a messy meal I let them eat on trays in the living room. I still let the Grands occasionally eat in the living room. Mostly because it’s rare I get DH to sit at the table to eat now so they sit with us in the living room.
For the record, I think that is something I miss doing. I would like to have family meals again.
I’ve never had sweet tea from the South, but when I was young my grandfather put sugar in his hot tea and I would drink it. I still put sugar and milk in my tea when I have it.
Rebecca - your DIL looks beautiful
Lisa - our daughter saw Northern Lights out her side of the plane on our way back from NB this Winter. Her pictures were amazing.
Evie - Happy Birthday! I love Michael’s!
Well Ladies - my daughter and son in law that have been going through IVF came for supper and told us they are expecting. It is very new, they had the implant on their anniversary on July 6th. I told her I was letting my friends here know as I have been keeping you all in the loop. She has an infusion on Tuesday that makes it so the embryo “sticks” better. I’m not sure if the medical terminology for that, she is quite nervous that something goes wrong again, I told her I had a good feeling and that lots of people are praying for them.
They pretended that Rodger’s Mom asked for a picture of the her, DH and I. Her husband was taking the “picture” instead as he said 1-2-3 say cheese he said “1-2-3 - Kaitlyn’s pregnant and he had taken a video and a picture.
I think while she is gaining weight growing a healthy grandchild, I’ll be losing weight to be around longer. I didn’t realize how out of shape I am looking.
Kim - I am struggling hard with being hungry even when I’m not exercising. I think I’m not eating nutritious food and eating too much junk.

Oh, Allie. Do you have a positive test? You said you "think." Paxlovid is contraindicated for people with severe kidney disease. If you do have it, be very careful. It is not to be given to someone with an eGFR of under 30.
Your cruise is next week?
Take care.

Tracey, that is so exciting! I will be keeping my fingers crossed and thinking good thoughts for Kaitlyn!
Allie, so sorry about the covid and the lady backing out of taking you to the bus. Is this for your cruise?
Kim, I was going to suggest a protein bar, lol. I quite like the almond fudge clif bars, but I don't find them very filling. Maybe a couple of hard boiled eggs or some tuna?
While I was still working, the owner of the company somehow found out about a guy named Grant Cardone. He is a salesman extraordinaire and I think what he mostly sells is his program on how to make your staff great salespeople. I have to say that most of his tactics would make me block his number on my phone and I would never deal with him, but having said that, he did say a few things that did make sense to me. One of them was to always be positive and to surround yourself with positive things. To that end I have decided to cancel my newspaper subscription. I was reading it one day and it was just full of depressing news! It was going onto a credit card that was due to expire so they sent a letter reminding me about it. I called and I'm paid up to the July 27th, so right now I've just put it on suspension, but when we get back from our holiday, I think I'll just call them and cancel. Or I may wait til someone calls me..... depends on how I feel. I will continue to watch the local evening news, mostly to get the weather report and we do have a small local paper that publishes once a week, I will give that a once over. That should get me all the information that I need.
One other thing that Cardone preaches is to fully commit to whatever you are doing, fully believe in your product. Well, my product is me and my intention is to fully commit to eating healthy and strengthening my body. If I lose weight in the process, then yay! I'm pretty sure I will, the whole eating healthy thing will go a long way towards that goal!
Something else that I need to make sure I do is get enough sleep/rest every night. I need to get into a better routine in the evening and get to bed earlier than I sometimes have been. That will enable me to get up a bit earlier and still be rested, I just don't make good food choices when I'm tired!
On that note, it is past my bedtime!

Ok well Paxlovid is out..i have a covid test that expired in March, ive tried all of them and I'll use the last one just for ha ha's
No since all these ladies have me up for dinner and I haven't really had them down i booked a bus trip to Lake George for a champagne brunch cruise.. here is hoping i feel better by then.6 -
I think I have mentioned I have been swimming, and I think I am stronger for it, and am getting close to ½ mile in about an hour or so…. I am stopping every 30 min for a 2-3 min breather….BUT I know I am not doing myself as much good as I could be as I get out of the pool, drink the better part of my 32 ounce water bottle, and then am STARVING and am making horrible choices. I stopped at the market on my way home today – swimming and this market are both on the other side of town. I bought and ate on the way home 610 calories of an ice cream treat! What the kitten was I thinking…. Today was the worse choice yet, but for some of you exercisers what do you do about the after exercise hunger? The protein bars are almost inedible in my mind the texture is to gloopy, gummy, sticky for my taste. And I do have a sweet tooth ( or maybe more than one – so sweet teeth)
Kim in N. California
Depends on what time it is.
If it's near lunch or dinner, I just have lunch or dinner.
If it's in between, I'll have a piece of bread with cheese (like one slice of bread and one slice of cheese) or a piece of fruit.

Tracey - Oh, I'm so pleased for Kaitlyn, and hope that all goes very well.
Allie - Hope you're feeling better soon, dear heart.
Evie - Happy belated birthday! I had begun to break my news addiction when we cut the cable and quit watching the network news. Even when I was just listening for the weather, the rest of it seeped in. Then I got rid of my subscription to the paid online papers. Now I'm cleaning up my online free news feeds, too. The more of it I get rid of, the better I feel. I think we can lean too far to the positive as well as the negative, but it is possible to find a balance.
Kim - Thank you for the comment! My Texas heritage, which mixes Southern phrasing and cadence with Western twang comes out when I write. It's almost as much as when I talk. Which makes it easy to slide from "Well, bless his heart," to "he's all hat and no cattle," to describe a number of the folks I grew up with.
Kim and Tracey - It's the sweet stuff in the morning that is just lethal for me.The last two days, I had cottage cheese and fruit for an early meal, and my craving for sugar just went into overdrive all day. Back to protein for me, a scrambled egg and cheese wrap probably. Kim, If you're craving sweet, try a banana or another fruit you can eat while driving, like an apple and some string cheese for a little protein? If you can push yourself over to protein, it will cut the hunger faster and last you longer.
Barbie - I appreciate the comment on the foccacia bread. I will have years where if something I love to eat is available, I will eat it until it's gone, so having it in the house at all doesn't work for me. Then there are years when I can eat a small amount of that same thing, and I'm satisfied, and I just don't need to eat more of it right now. I admire your ability to know yourself so well and establish a routine that clearly works very well for you.
Only slept about three hours, the insomnia is definitely an effect of the steroids. It could just be that they're working to calm the inflammation down to the point where I feel good, and I'm not used to it!
The dosage drops each week on Wednesday for three more weeks, so this overhyped feeling should start to subside soon. Probably. It's OK, had lots of time to get Corey's lunch done, and I can always lay down later. It's only an hour now before he gets up for work, and it will give him a better Monday morning if he's not rushing.
Finally gave up and made myself a cup of coffee about 3:30. Got a couple outside projects and a couple inside ones waiting for me, will see what the dawn brings...
Love y'all,
Later,
Lisa ETC
Ack! Forgot to add - pathology results back last night from random biopsies along the length of the colon, all clear except for the ulcerative colitis. All clear, no polyps, nothing. Good results.Yay!10 -

Belated welcome @lwhelan2018 Lisa in AZ! “…resisted the junk calling…” and “ran for 17 minutes first thing.” Well done!!!
Rosemarie delighted to hear about your planned Acadia National Park excursion. Sounds like a good plan. Brava!
Tracey Thankful we are not under evacuation notice. The fire is northeast of us, we don’t smell the smoke, yet. I do see the smoke coming down the rivers when I drive to Gold Beach. Our church secretary’s husband is working the fire and will be in Agness most of the summer. It’s grown to over 18000 acres but the level 3 “Go now” evacuation orders have been reduced to level 2 “Be ready” for the homes on Oak Flat. The terrain is so steep and roadless it’s hard to line around the fire. On a lighter note, a “bra less society” would be REALLY uncomfortable for me. I used to joke that I couldn’t do Jumping Jacks without bruising my jaw and my belly.
Ginny whooshing good thoughts for the ct scans. Thanks for thinking of me with the watch, understand kids come first. Think I’ll wait ‘til the black Friday deals…
Lisa awful to have procedure scheduled for late afternoon. Those sleepless prep nights are the worst, but grateful for the mostly good news.
Machka this is the best brace I’ve found for stabilizing/minimizing pain when dancing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09F6X2NB5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Fortunately if I do my PT exercises I don’t need it :devil:the lines of that dress!
Joy congrats on the pound. Lucy=win-win.
Pipthe pooped pooches and the relocated lights. Cool setup.
Lanette I'd be up for monthly averages... ;}
Michele, helpful household hints from retired husbands really stink. I’m lucky Joe’s too smart to try
Rori reading about your GF’s two Chihuahuas chatting with Mars made me smile, as did the gentleman friend update.
Barbiethe new car, hearing about your learning to drive it and “…I want to be mellow and kind and patient like him when I grow up.” Me too. ;}
Terri thank you thank you thank you for sharing your journey and most especially your 4 step plan for goal setting success.
Only through pg 46 but time to sleep.

Still agitating myself over this trip to see DH's daughter.
I have gone back to the original plan of having three nights in Lyon. DH and I have decided on dates, so all I have to do is book the flights and train .
I hate pressing that button to commit. My perfectionism always kicks in and I have to get it 'right'. Unfortunately easyJet, the flight operator, makes it incredibly hard to change or cancel anything. It's a one-shot and that's it. I find it very scary.
So, not going to do that today. Going to enjoy Edie who is coming for lunch and to paint her wooden boxes. The cleaner will be here, but I'm sure we can work around that.
DH has cricket this week, but I think at least two days are a washout because of the rain forecast. He is going tomorrow, and in the evening I have my first visit to the 'Death Café'. It's an occasional meet up for people who like to talk about death in any aspect. Refreshments are available, but I'm no carb, so will eat beforehand. I'll have to leave something for DH. No idea what to expect, but it should be interesting!
Tracey - Crossing everything for your daughter.
I haven't worn a bra in years, but I am not well-endowed! I wear a tightish camisole, which keeps everything tidy. Plus Brighton and Hove is an 'anything goes' type of place.
I don't wear short dresses often. My lower legs are not my best feature, so I need to wear full length black leggings with them. I can't go bare legged. White and blotchy, with lumpy ankles.I do wear maxi dresses occasionally. I loathe tights (panty hose) with a huge loathing, and haven't worn them for many years. I do, on the cruise only, wear hold up stockings with a lace top for formal nights. They are bearable in large. I hate not being comfortable and bras drive me crazy!
The good news is that my low simple carbs regime has resulted in me losing a couple of pounds. That is without tracking . I am also getting a better grip on the alcohol. I am encouraged to continue.
Kim - I am the same as you as regards blood sugar. Hypoglycaemia. If I am going to swim like that I would need to eat something beforehand, like a banana, and eat cheese or something straight afterwards. I cannot allow myself to go low on blood sugar or it's a disaster. At home we have breakfast before our gym session, and on the cruise I always had half a large banana. Low blood sugar ruins the whole of the rest of the day for me. I have had to train friends and family to understand my problem as they have no idea how it feels. I have to eat at scheduled intervals, no exceptions. Protein is your friend and you could eat some before your swim.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx4 -
And here ya go.. stupid me .. in and out of drs appointment ,labs, xrays etc...3 -
Allie - Take care of yourself!2

Good morning ladies!
Evie happy birthday!
Kim, I eat a yogurt (mostly) when I am extra hungry. It was hard at first, but the hunger diminished after a few days of harder biking. It would be a good time to double check calorie counts and see if you need more.
