Playing with my protein levels, increased it. Carb remained the same, however I increased my calories in the process. Going back to basics.2 -
My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall.
Start Weight (from Aug 31, 2023 ): 191.8
Goal Weight: 187.8 (4 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (Iβll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because itβs a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itβs a loss. Weight in black means no change.
09/01-193.2-(Trend Weight: 195.0)-
09/05-192.0-(Trend Weight: 194.3)-
09/12-191.2-(Trend Weight: 193.4)-
09/19-190.0-(Trend Weight: 191.9)- Iβve been feeling grateful for the losses on the scale but am very excited about my trend weight changes. It really affirms that Iβm on the right trajectory and that some of the things I am doing are really working overall. I donβt think I will make my goal for September since having to post such a large overnight gain on the 1st of September, but Iβve reduced my weight every single week since then and Iβm happy about that.
09/26-187.6-(Trend Weight: 190.1)- I have exercised a little more and a little harder for most of this past week. On the food-front, most days I actually have a hard time eating enough calories. That seems very strange when I am eating a lot of healthy fat foods which tend to have more calories. I guess when they say that fat fills you up, itβs true. It must be helping me to cut my portions. Anyway, I am tweaking my MFP diary to make sure I get as close to my calorie goals as possible. I donβt want to slow up my metabolism by eating too little! I am still experimenting with zig-zagging too. It is going pretty well.
09/30-xxxxx-(Trend Weight: xxxxx)-
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
250βs; 240βs; 230βs; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180βs; 170's; 160's; 150's

@deepwoodslady
Fat do fill for certain. when I started to purposely add fat, Losing fat became easier.
Especially with me being a lower weight than before. Yes full fat things are high calorie. However they are worth it in the long run.3 -
@deepwoodslady and @Lullaby2021 I second the fat = fullness thing. I eat a low-carb, high-fat diet and the weight is coming right off and I never feel deprived or starved. No cravings either. (I do make sure to get mostly plant fats, from olive/walnut/flaxseed oils + seeds and nuts. Plus fish and meat, and limited dairy/eggs.)4

Didn't mean to be a flake for this September challenge that I joined for the first time. My sister passed away on 9/5 and it's been a world wind of events and emotions to deal with. I'm just now getting back on my personal track. I did continue to step on the scale (it syncs with fitbit) daily so the weights (while not necessarily favorable) are accurate.

September Start Weight:133.7
September Goal Weight:131.8lbs
Ultimate Goal Weight:122lbs
Septemeber5th:133.7lbs
September 6:134.1lbs(+0.4lbs) Had a complete high sodium week. I ate an average of 2,700mg seven days. yesterday particularly 2,900mg. So I'm not at a lower weight this week. Working to get my averages down to the recommened 2,300mg per day.
Septemeber 12:134.7(+0.6lbs) for a total (+1.0lbs) up to date.I figure I'd be up or close to same from last week weight. Body feels a bit heavy. Is holding onto water for repair, of a rough leg workout,Constipation, and not enough sleep.I still have tomorrow to weigh in also. Don't think much more will change..
September 13:134.4lbs(-0.3lbs) Not much has changed from yesterday. It's Nothing but water loss. Hope for some real fat loss later in this month.
Septemeber 19:134.2
September 20:133.1(-1.1lbs) I wasn't expecting any lower. Expected to be a much heavier weight. with all the extra salt, carbs, and sugar I was eating. Also I over ate my calorie goal by a lot. For 5 days leading up to my two weigh ins. which were yesterday and today. My calories had averaged about 1,950 everyday for seven days. The week before.I was very hungry and crave.
Now I am (1.3lbs)away from my September goal .
Septemeber 26:132.5(-0.6lbs)
Septemeber 27th:132.7(+0.2lbs)
I've lost a total of 1.0 pound this month.Ofc I know this isn't a true reflection. Because my women cycle(water retention+very bloated). It'll be here sooner than later. Didn't make my goal of 131.8..off by (0.9) lbs. there's always next time to get it. I'm closer to it than before : ).3 -

I'm super happy with my consistent tracking this month, and the scale moved in the right direction. Next month I plan to cut alcohol during the week and continue to track food consistently. Need more high protein snack ideas that aren't all dairy. Cottage cheese, string cheese and greek yogurt are my go-to's right now.

Good morning,
I'm Veta.(49) In 2014, I weighed 180 lbs., my highest weight ever. I started a weight loss plan with my sister and lost 45 lbs. Over the past years, I put on a few pounds here and there. Then, January of 2022, I quit smoking cigarettes, and gained 20 more pounds and was back to my highest weight. I needed to make some changes with my lifestyle. Not only was I feeling insecure with my body, but I've been dealing with aching limbs.(Inflammation?) It was time to make some changes. I am on a mission to lose 40-50 lbs. by the end of the year.
Nutrition Goal: Drink plenty of water! Eat something every 3 hours. Avoid sugar!
Fitness Goal: None
September Start Weight:179 lbs.
September Goal Weight: 165 lbs.
Ultimate Goal Weight: 135 lbs.
September 1: 179 lbs. β This is my official start day. I started logging my foods all week, but wasn't watching what I ate. When I went back and looked at the week, I noticed that I was not eating enough. I was eating less than the recommended 1000-1200 calories. Also, my diet consisted of many highly-processed foods. My habit was going the whole day without eating, then, having a large dinner and binge eat the rest of the night.
September 8: 174 lbs. β Wow! Not what I was expecting, a 5 lbs. loss. I was logging all my foods and drinks daily. I also was drinking lots of water. I did a daily check-in, recording my progress and thoughts.(what's working and what's not) I started reading blogs and articles about weight loss strategies and tips.
September 15: 170 lbs. Awesome! I lost 4 lbs. I continued to log all foods and drinks, drink plenty of water, and post my daily check-in. I also started exercising 3 days per week. Food was starting to taste bland and oddly familiar. I felt like I was eating the same foods everyday. So, I started to make new interesting recipes. I had some challenges making healthy food choices, when I was away from home. My husband was very supportive, he drove me from place to place till I found somewhere I was willing to eat. I learned that most fast food, NO longer offer healthy grilled chicken or salad options. It's better to have a sit down restaurant meal.
September 22: 169 lbs. Yea! I lost another pound. I followed through with logging all foods and drinks, drinking water, and my daily check-in. I even added a day to my exercising schedule, making it 4 days this week. However, I was posting my daily check-in to an inactive group. I joined another group and found my self in the same situation, but now my daily posts were not in one place, which made it harder to assess my past posts. I found myself talking about how I was watching what I'm eating, to everyone, everywhere I went. I even asked people what they eat. It's like I became a little obsessed. It's all I think about. I'm not obsessed with the scale. I'm focused on planning what to eat, looking up recipes and preparing snacks and meals, learning new strategies. I was looking for support from people with similar goals.
September 29: 168 lbs. 0kβ¦I lost another pound. I'm logging, drink water, posting my daily check-in, and exercising five days a week. I feel like I'm making great progress. My clothes are feeling looser. I found this wonderful group. The people are so supportive. It's exactly what I needed.
