November Goal: 130 Miles
11/1: 6.26 miles
6.26/130 miles completed for November
I am going to set my goal at 130 miles again this month. I might be able to get more, but between the weather and the holidays I think I will set a conservative goal. I started out the month with a very cold (32° F) 6.25 mile run. It was a pretty tough run. I was dressed ok, but it is always so hard to know how to dress for cold weather running. I wore my new shoes and they kind of rubbed my foot in an annoying way. Maybe it was my sock. I have been wearing the same style shoes for a long time. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I think they are really pretty and I am going to be very disappointed if they hurt my feet.

Hello everyone! From a wet and cold London!
Got in 4.36M / 7K (10"01). Was up around 4am (09:30 India time)... then wasted about an hour plus tossing and turning trying to go back to sleep.
Got a jetlagged run in, in the end!
Anyways... Put me down for 130M for November.
PS: @Laurz9191 and @SummerSkier did I miss a bit of conversation somewhere?! Confused.
I run without music...
And I also think of mindless cr-p whilst running!
@Teresa502 enjoy Aruba!!! 😊6 -
Nice run @Zaxa2021 . The only run you regret is the one you don't do!
@kgirlhart Nice run. I hope your shoes do better tomorrow.
Glad you made it back home safely and had a great trip @tarun_yadavA ! Great early morning jet lagged run.1 -

@tarun_yadavA Welcome back! I hope you can ease back into your routine quickly! It sounds like it was an awesome trip!
@Teresa502 You asked me about the crops along my route. To be honest, the only crops I ever recognise are canola (kind of smelly and very yellow), corn, because - yeah it’s obvious, and sugar beets after they are harvested because they are put in a big pile. They also do a lot of grains, but I’m never really sure whether it’s wheat, barley or rye. I do always try to pick routes that are by fields/rivers/bike paths and not by car traffic. It makes for more mud and slugs, but I feel more at peace.
@chris_in_cal At the moment I am listening to the latest Outlander novel. It’s a very long one- over 24 hours - so it will take awhile. I usually pick a novel that’s at least 10 hours and do some research ahead of time to see if I will like it. Usually I do. It does always take some time to get into the plot of a new book though. Music is easier that way. If you listen to a standard playlist, you always know what you are getting.

This morning was quite dark, a bit rainy and VERY windy. I wasn’t that motivated, because I don’t enjoy wind that much (especially when part of the run is in the forest) and there was soooo much of it, but I did get 9.1km done. So far 20.2/200km for November. I know some of you usually run when it is dark, but I usually run in the mornings, so it’s a bit of an adjustment for me running in the mornings but without it actually being that light. It’s weird.6

November Goal: 130 Miles
11/1: 6.26 miles
11/2: 6.26 miles
12.52/130 miles completed for November
Todays run was so much better than yesterday's. I ran the same 6.25 mile route, but it was 42°F instead of 32°F which really made a big difference for me. I was dressed ok. I did wear long pants and probably would have been ok in capri length, but since it was dark and not sunny I wasn't too hot. I did not wear my new shoes though. When I put them on this morning I could feel the same rubbing over my big toe joint and I decided that if it bothered me that much walking around the house getting ready to run, it would be a problem running. So I wore my old shoes and my feet were comfortable. Maybe it is just a defective pair. I always wear the Saucony Rides and this is the 3rd pair of 15's I have had and I usually love them. Luckily my old pair is still ok for running. I enjoyed this run today. It didn't feel as hard as yesterday. Partly because it wasn't as cold and also my foot wasn't hurting. And I saw 3 deer at the park and that always makes me happy. I also noticed that the Halloween decorations are coming down and the Christmas decorations are starting to go up.

Great running @mnsmov15 !
@Laurz9191 Great job getting out there and doing what you did in those conditions. Wind and forests aren't really safe combinations, especially in the rain.
Nice running @kgirlhart . Sorry the shoes are hurting your toe. Can you send them back and get another pair to see if those just happened to be defective? I am not ready for Christmas decorations yet. I liked it so much better when Christmas season started AFTER Thanksgiving, not August!!!2 -
1 Nov - Walked 2.00 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - treadmill
2 Nov - Walked 1.30 miles - Ran 3.00 miles - treadmill - Short intervals
6.30/80 miles
I helped take blood pressures at a local middle school this morning. Why do 8th graders revert back to acting like kindergartners? When I got home, I did a short interval run on the treadmill. I ran 5/5 min at 4.2/4.5 mph, 8 x (1/2 min at 6.0/3.8 mph), 6:36 min at 4.2 mph. It felt easier than I expected it to. My avg HR was 134 with a max of 148 bpm. I walked a little extra for the cool down to make my workout last at least an hour.7 -
November Goal: 80 miles
11/1: 3 miles
11/2: 3 miles
Total: 6/80 miles completed7 -
11/1 14.43 miles
11/2 13.6 miles, Running Partner A, 22°F COLD!
11/2 1.05 miles, after B3 bands with A
11/3 13.49 miles
My B3 bands arrived last night! So got to use them before bed. I have used A's the other three times.
Data:- Pain levels in hip, back, glute, piriformis reduced by 80% + at least!
- I can sit, rollover in bed without yelping. I can sit down without electric shocks running through my bum.
- You can only wear them 20 minutes. I know @SummerSkier expressed concern in that these bands are BFR blood flow restrictive. These bands are like blood pressure cuffs, but you do not cut off circulation, you just need pressure.
- I am not following strict protocols that I read on website and papers. Like how many reps, and push self to failure. I am not into that. I am just really impressed that I am not in pain right now.
- I have some serious energy that I have not felt in a long time. Yes, I can run endurance and just keep going, but this is making me excited to work hard in the yard. I can bend up and down without worry that my back is about to snap.
Client let me have his sunset:7 -
@AlphaHowls …and here I thought the sunset I saw this evening was pretty! That is gorgeous. Here was mine I went running this evening. I decided to combine my run with my son’s soccer practice like I did last week, because I had to be there anyways . The clouds looked like cotton candy and there was a bit of sun shining through, which I really appreciated after several days of running in drizzly/rainy greyness. Today 9.4km down, making it 29.6/200km for November.

Nov total: 10.2/117 miles
11/1: 7.1 miles
11/3: 3.1 miles - W&D 5k
Race 1 of the weekend done. This morning was the 5k. I debated putting in my total because my husband and I mostly walked buy ultimately decided it was fast walking and intentional exercise so, including it. I dressed at the queen of hearts, and it was cute if I do say so myself. I also have some glittery ❤️ earrings on but you can't see them in the pictures. We were up at 2:30 am. The race started at 5am and we were done before 6am. It was still dark when we got back to the resort and barely getting light when we went to get breakfast. My husband hasn't trained at all and is worried about finishing the 10k tomorrow so we took it easy today. Tomorrow we will do a more structured walk-run intervals. He told me I could go ahead without him but the whole point was to do these together so we're going to see how this works.
Then we went to animal kingdom for a bit and are now hanging out and relaxing before heading to dinner and another early bedtime.8 -

@AlphaHowls it is amazing to be pain free. I definitely hear you. I have had 2 different "back" things over the past year and each took months to go away. THey were both different and probably from tennis but oh boy it's nice when you can bend down without waiting for the pain! ✅🌟💖 I don't understand how bands around your arms and legs work but maybe they force more blood flow to the other main areas where the inflam is. Keep the reviews coming
@martaindale you are just too cute! I love that you decided to do it together and intentional exercise is just that! Consider it lower hr training effort. HOW DO you keep those sleeves up. I tried running with some and it bugged the heck out or me trying to keep them high. And if they were tight enough they felt like they were ⬆️⬆️⬆️ bands like @AlphaHowls uses.
@laurz9191 I can totally appreciate finally getting a run without rain or drizzle or cold. We are headed into a perfect time so I may end up ramping miles up again just because..🤷♀️😊
@quilteryoyo you certainly do like to get out and work with the younguns a lot. Are their BPs comparable to adult? Do you ever find ones who need help? I know years ago when our workplace did annual health checks for insurance bennies, they found quite a few workers who REALLY needed to get their BP evaluated by a Dr
I wasn't planning to run early today or run long but it was pretty nice. Mid 40's sun coming up. So I ended up with 7. The NB shoes lavender are pretty comfy but probably not as fast as the nikes. They do have kind of a high side which I notice altho it doesn't rub a blister or anything. I think some of their styles have that high outside which bugs people. @kgirlhart I hope you can get those new shoes replaced. Quality control sucks sometimes. I can remember disappointment with Hoka and Mizuna shoes after haveing a great first experience and then the next set just wasn't as good.
Goal of 200 100 crossed 1300 for the year today of intentional running miles (and some wogs and wuns I will admit). My intentional walking is at 456 so I expect with 58 days left in the year that I will make 500 there. I just need 1523 total to make my run the year official with intentional miles and that seems doable at 3.33 avg per day for the rest of the year.

I have child sleeves, I cannot keep adult pair up/on.

Nice @Zaxa2021 !
I'm glad that the B3 bands seem to be helping with your pain @AlphaHowls ! Great running too! AND beautiful sunset! Now I want to know what type of yard work you were doing that Fitbit thought was swimming.
Great way to use your time @Laurz9191 !
@martaindale Love your outfit and that you and DH are doing the Disney thing together. You did great with the wun today and, yes, intentional exercise counts! Good luck with the 10K tomorrow.
@SummerSkier Great run today and fantastic mileage for the year! The BP for the kids depends on their age and height. We have a chart we check. The older ones should be close to adult levels. The younger ones should be lower. There are usually 2 or 3 in a group that wind up with stage 2 after we take it 3 times. If that is the case, the nurse will check it again either that day or the next and, if it is still high, will contact their parent/guardian to make them aware. If they are in the pre-hypertension or stage 1, the nurse will check it again, but not that day. They send a letter to the parents with all of the info we get and some ideas on how to be healthier. Often, we have one or two that are being watched by their doctor because they do have high blood pressure. The other thing that we find every once in a while is a student who has cut themselves. We don't mention it or react when we see it, to the child, but make sure that the school nurse is aware so she can address it with the school counselor. I'm not sure what they do with the information about failed hearing or vision. I'm sure they make the parent/guardian aware, but not sure what the timeline is for that. Interestingly enough, some parents opt out of having their children participate in the screening.

Today, I waited until it warmed up to get out and run...that was 3 pm and it was 61F (16.1C). I really wasn't feeling like running, so the hardest part was getting out the door. I started out thinking that I would do a wun/recovery run. I walked the first third of a mile or so on the driveway and then ran a bit. It felt pretty good, so decided to do 30 minutes and keep my HR under 140 bpm. But, my HR decided it didn't want to stay low today, so I just ran at what felt like an easy/moderate pace and walked when I needed to, mostly up the hills. It really was feeling pretty good, so decided on 3 miles and planned my route so I would end close to mom's. I wound up running past her house and back and had a total of 3.5 miles in 44:55 min - avg pace 12:50 min/mile. My split paces were 14:03 (included 0.33 miles of walking only), 12:24, 12:14, and 12:22 min/mile. I'm happy with that.
I stopped to talk to mom for a few minutes and then walked home, plus a driveway lap, to make a mile walking. It was cool walking home since I was sweaty and the wind was blowing a little.5 -

11/1: 6.26 miles
11/2: 6.26 miles
11/3: 3.25 miles
15.77/130 miles completed for November
It was pretty nice this morning at 52°F. I wish it would stay like this. I ran 3.25 miles. It was uneventful, but nice.
Good luck tomorrow @martaindale! Love today's costume.

Morning all.
Got in 5M (09"30).
Took yesterday off... Woke up with a cold and all achy. So skipped.
Oh, and shoep0rn... Bought these before my trip. Wore them today. And they're already wet! 😭
@martaindale well done on the 5K and 10Ks!
My wife runs. Ran a full marathon in 2018... just never seem to run together. (Or want to!). Think we both treat run time as personal space7 -
@AlphaHowls I can see that. Lots of arm movements without a lot of foot movement.
Nice run @kgirlhart .
Nice shoe porn @tarun_yadavA . Sorry they are wet already. Glad you feel better than yesterday. I can see why a couple would not want to run together, but at least she runs and understands why you want to. That can be an issue.3 -

My massive biceps do most of the work! 😂 I have a few pair and some stay better than others. I have found that the ones with the silicone grippy things are the easiest to keep high on the arm without being too tight.tarun_yadavA wrote: »My wife runs. We didn't run together often but it was nice to be able to have some company from time to time. And doing fun races with someone else adds to the experience. But we never raced together. Our paces were never close enough.6 -
Looking good @martaindale! That's awesome that you race with your husband.
10 miles this morning. After 2 days off I didn't know how this run was going to go, but it felt good. Started out really slow then just went with it. It didn't feel like 8:35 pace until the very end.

Nov total: 16.6/117 miles
11/1: 7.1 miles
11/3: 3.1 miles - W&D 5k
11/4: 6.4 miles - W&D 10k
Race 2 done! We did a 30s run, 1 min walk interval and my husband finished strong. Having not run at all and barely walked for exercise in the last few months, we were both a little surprised he managed so well and felt good at the end.
Today's costume is Belle.
And now we're going to a movie. Last race tomorrow morning.8 -
Hello everyone
I’m going to aim for 50 miles this month. November is always an awful month for me work wise with not enough hours so I’ll be lucky if I manage the 50. Got 2 runs done so far. I’ve told myself anything above 2.5 miles on weekdays will be great this month.
02/11 3.20 miles
04/11 3.82 miles
7.02/50 miles6 -
11/1 14.43 miles
11/2 13.6 miles, Running Partner A, 22°F COLD!
11/2 1.05 miles, after B3 bands with A
11/3 13.49 miles
11/4 14.5 miles, Running Partner E! Baby Dash is 6 weeks tomorrow!6 -
Final Squash Army Update:I cleaned it all up today. Washed the squash and will leave them on a windowsill and decide later what to do with the poor unripe things.
These are the ones I harvested earlier. They look OK 🙂10 -
Bought these before my trip. Wore them today. And they're already wet! 😭
I am currently on the Asics train. These first ones GT-2000 have too much motion control, I am thinking of getting their Nimbus next time. What are these?1 -
Not running but: This morning I went to my first legit normal in person Iyengar Yoga class since covid broke out.
Perhaps everything is going to be okay after all.
