Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.

My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. πŸ¦ƒ πŸ₯§ 😊 Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.

    Starting weight September 1: 141.0

    Starting weight November 1: 132.8

Goal for November: 130.4 Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.

    November 1: 132.8 I logged 🍁
    November 2: 132.8 I logged 🍁
November 3: 131.4 I logged 🍁 Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.
    November 4: 131.0 I logged 🍁
    November 5: 130.8
    November 6: 132.2 I logged 🍁
    November 7: 131.8 I logged 🍁
    November 8: 131.4 I logged 🍁
    November 9: 131.2
November 10: 131.2 I logged 🍁 Had a really bad day yesterday. Ended up overeating and eating too much chocolate. Hopefully it won't cause my weight to spike up. Today is a new day.
    November 11: 131.0 I logged 🍁
November 12: 131.2 I logged 🍁 OK, time to break through this number, lol.
    November 13: 130.6 I logged 🍁
    November 14: 130.2
    November 15: 131.6 I logged 🍁
November 16: 131.2 There's that familiar number again, lol. Time break through it again, especially these days before Thanksgiving. By the way, for the first time we have a pasture raised grassfed turkey this year for Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to it.

ManifestingToday, can you explain the difference between discussions and groups to me? I've posted on your discussion (because it was the only helpful one that was up-to-date) and I joined a group of over 60 people (ditto), but navigating the community seems a bit crazy. I only do Facebook, so hashtags etc. are a mystery to me.

Hopefully @HASWLRS explanation made sense. I've actually never used the Groups section of MyFitnessPal, so I don't have any expertise to share there. I've only read/responded to discussion threads like this one. And if a discussion thread is active, if you miss a day, it does take a bit of work to get caught up.

11/15-181.4-(Trend Weight 183.8)- I had a whole (very small) cheesecake left over from my trip this past weekend. I didn’t want it to go bad/stale. I cut it into 4 chubby pieces and my son and I each had a piece yesterday. I fit it into my macros by choosing lower calorie/carb items for lunch and dinner. We will probably have the last slices tonight and it will be gone. I still can’t throw away perfectly good food. Poor is a mentality and once poor, always poor in many ways. It’s just my upbringing but I won’t let it stand in the way. I can always juggle my macros in these instances, at least in theory. #workinprogress.

11/16-179.6-(Trend Weight 183.4)- Thrilled, amazed and grateful to have hit the 170’s today. I worked so hard yesterday on both diet and exercise to give myself the push I needed to get as close as possible. I have not hit the 170’s in over 5 years, since Sept 2018 according to my MFP records. Last time I hit them, it was very short-lived. I never met my 145-155 goal. I never saw the 160’s even. Almost immediately I started to slowly creep back up. I re-gained the most during Covid shut-downs in early 2020. I’m not going to get lax this time. I haven’t met my goal yet in my weight, my size, my BMI or my blood glucose numbers. Everything is getting better but there’s still so much work ahead.

I feel like crying 😒. I was at a all time weight low yesterday and today I’m back to where I was 3 weeks ago. I don’t know why I even bother trying to lose weight. My body just doesn’t seem to want to lose more than 2 kgs . I’m devastated. I am trying but it just doesn’t work. So sick of being fat.

I did have homemade pizza yesterday, but it was within calories. So let's see what happens tomorrow.

I think these spikes are normal. At least they've happened to me each time I've lost weight.
@myhands4God Don't give up! Health is frustrating and not linear. It's hard not to get discouraged, but so worth it.

Hi, I'm a 50+ yo married female, 5'6", and tired of looking and feeling like I do. I’m making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again.

11/17-179.8-(Trend Weight 183.0)- I am up just a blip after beginning to self-sabotage last night. Luckily I kept it to my β€œapproved foods” and stopped before the damage was too bad with a 0.2 lb gain overnight. I’m hanging onto the 170’s by the skin of my teeth. Those of you who know me best know that I will not consider myself in the 170’s solidly until I reach 177 point anything so I still have a ways to go. However, I am grateful for the possibility. Tomorrow I travel by car 4 hours each way with oldest daughter for a medical appointment for her (to the University Hospital). So food will not be at home and there will be lots of sitting. I expect a gain tomorrow. For my mentality I might even skip the weigh-in since the numbers are temporary anyway and not indicative of my true weight. On another note, Thanksgiving is coming up for those of us in America. I’m hoping I can tip-toe all the way up to it, Bang it out on Turkey day, then tip-toe back out without too much lasting damage. The key will be what I keep for leftovers and what I send home with others. Will it be lean turkey that I keep or will it be pie and desserts? Oh boy!

Thank you for the encouragement I received yesterday. My weight goes up and down a lot but it’s always the same 2kgs being lost and gained again. It took me 12 months to gain 14 kgs which Is 30lb. So I guess patience is key as is persistence. Non scale victories are having more energy. , a few centimetres off my waste, eating better.

13: πŸ₯™πŸ’§My Monday was 12 years long lol. But I tracked and didn't fall off track. Making a drink and catching up on some reality TV now🍸
