That's a lot of travelling planned @yirara ! I hope you get to go and enjoy them all!
Thanks @Laurz9191 . I did enjoy the trip. You did great to get in a TM session this afternoon after bailing on your morning run.
Thanks @Scott6255 . Yes, it is good to be home. I think everyone feels that way - nice to be gone, nice to be back home. Nice running. I hope your shoes go on sale soon!
Nice run @martaindale !

I did a treadmill session this morning before catching up on post vacation things. Then, mom and I and my aunt had dinner with my cousin who was passing through the area in his 18 wheeler. He's a hoot.
I didn't have a ton of time, so had decided to do a 2 mile run only. I did run at a faster pace than my usual. I did a run/walk of 7/2 min. Runs were 1/4 min at (4.2-4.4,4.5/4.5-4.7, 4.8/4.8-5.0/5.1), then 4.2 mph for 1:26 min. None of that felt too bad, so that tells me that I am capable of running further and faster than my mind thinks I can. I'm going to work on the mental and fueling aspects of my running.6 -
Morning everyone
Squeezed in 4.36M (at 08"52). In the office today for a team lunch then drinks*.
Bit of a mission going from my mother's deep in the Essex suburbs into Central London.
*And no, I will not be drinking as much as the other night!9 -
I stuff wet shoes with paper towels. I don't like newsprint because it is well "dirty". I also keep the tissue from new shoes and the little cardboard spacers. I won't run in new shoes either.
Did not run yesterday after 2 runs on Tuesday plus strength plus tennis but not because I was sore but mostly because the weather was crap. It was low 50's but drizzly with a biting coldish wind. And dark. So altho I actually walked out the door I only made it 20 feet before I sad "nope'. I am sure it would have been fine but I just could NOT get that first 1.4 mile down the road. All day was sort of like that weather wise so never found a good window. Calling it a rest day. right? 🤷♀️🤣😏
Enjoy the luncheon @tarun_yadavA Welcome back @quilteryoyo definitely loved all your reporting on the race. I think you killed it even if you felt like you were slower.5 -
01/12 4.01 miles
03/12 4.03 miles
05/12 3.55 miles
08/12 4.12 miles
10/12 4.09 miles
12/12 3.08 miles
13/12 3.58 miles - Windy cold stormy run but it's done
Total 26.46 miles/60 miles
Caught up now on the posts and I definitely missed a lot, from @tarun_yadavA being put in the naughty corner for his antics to clashes with a cheese grater!
@polska_girl - I'm sorry for your loss, you have had a traumatic time.
@kgirlhart - sorry about your doggy, it's unbelievable how much it affects you.
@quilteryoyo - You were great so Well Done! My favorite photos were you crossing the finish line and the space rocket being towed on a trailer.6 -

My mind does the same thing. I've been running several years at this point and have done these distances so many times but I still have these little thoughts of whether I'll be able to run the entire distance almost any time I get above 7 miles or so. I had this thought today after running a slightly longer distance just a few days ago.3 -
December total: 66.7/164 miles
12/1: 6 miles
12/2: 12 miles
12/4: 9 miles
12/5: 2.7 miles
12/7: 5 miles
12/9: 10 miles
12/11: 8.8 miles
12/13: 5.1 miles
12/14: 8.1 miles
My legs still feel fatigued from the tempo run and Pilates so I shifted the plan to just doing the miles and threw a few strides in at the end. The weather was nice and hopefully an easier run today will give my legs a chance to finish recovering.5 -

What happens to me is I finish a session and head home and then think “I really could have gone farther” because I feel good.3 -
I have a head cold. Probably caught it from the granddaughters this past Sunday. Didn’t workout yesterday.
Will try a walk this afternoon after work. Will see how it goes….7 -

Hello everyone!
This morning, I woke up and checked on my shoes and they were “almost” completely dry , so the heating pipes are a good newspaper replacement.
I drove to my running spot and sat in the car for almost 30 minutes before deciding not to bail on my run. Some days it is harder than others to literally just get out the door and get started. I really don’t want to complain or make excuses but the truth is since I was sooooo busy that I only got 1 run in last week, I have been a bit off rhythm to begin with. Compound that with a nasty cough I’ve had for 3 weeks, possibly covid, and dark grey skies and it’s easy to talk yourself out of a run. Well, I got myself out of the car and promised myself I’d stay at an easy pace and not push the mileage. In the end I ran 10.3km. I am so glad I went out but I hope tomorrow is easier and I have some of my spunk and energy back .
So far 48km/160km for December.10 -

@polskagirl01 is that aimed at me (for doing it)?? Or at @chris_in_cal endorsing Guys' drunken horseplay?! Lol
On a more serious note... Hope you are okay! And funeral went well (as well as they can).
Not aimed at you - "men's drunken escapades are adorable" in general just hit me wrong. I'm sorry. It probably came came across like I was mad at you guys, and I'm not. I know sometimes those things can be funny. Other times they're the complete opposite. I know you all have no way of knowing what just happened here or the horror my family has been dealing with. Will you all accept virtual hugs? If not, duck, because I'm sending them 🙂6 -
Thanks @SummerSkier ! I think you deserved a rest day after all you did on Wednesday!
Thanks @Mari33a . I was glad I got to see the rocket too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one @martaindale ! It is something I want to work on. I feel it's a fine line between pushing it just enough and not injuring myself. I just haven't found that yet. You are doing great with your plan!
I hope you are feeling better @daria0919 !
You did great @Laurz9191 ! Getting out the door is often the hardest part of a run. I hope you are feeling better today. Glad your shoes are almost dry.
Great running and streaking @emptydog .
@tarun_yadavA You did great pushing yourself to run. That bloated feeling makes it so hard. Enjoy tonight, but do try to behave! For your wife's sake if not your running's sake in the morning.
You are fine @polskagirl01 ! I don't think anyone took that statement wrong and I caught your hug and am sending one back your way.

12/11: 8.8 miles
12/13: 5.1 miles
12/14: 8.1 miles
12/15: 6 miles
Easy miles this morning. Temps in the mod 50's so very pleasant for an easy run. I went to the trail again. Saw my trail friend and not many others. Today is the last day of school before the winter break and the kids get out early. Lots of people don't even send their kids to school on these days so it was super quiet this morning. Should make for some nice traffic when I head to work!5 -
December Goal: 130 Miles
12/1: 3.30 miles
12/3: 10.10 miles
12/5: 6.31 miles
12/6: 6.31 miles
12/7: 6.04 miles
12/10: 11.01 miles
12/11: 6.02 miles
12/12: 6.03 miles
12/13: 6.26 miles
12/14: 3.15 miles
64.53/130 miles completed for December
I could have sworn that I posted Wednesday's run, but I don't see it anywhere. I ran 6.25 miles on Wednesday. It was a nice run around 54°F. I wore shorts and a t-shirt, but it felt a little chilly to me, so I also wore sleeves and gloves. I took them off about 2 miles in, but put them back on about 4 miles in. I feel like I had the right amount of layering.
Yesterday I ran 3.15 miles. I only had 30 minutes to run since I had to be at work early yesterday. I ran 5K in 29:26 with a pace of 9:20 mi/min. That's not my 5K PR, but that is definitely a much faster pace than I typically run. Most of my daily runs are at about 11:15 - 11:30 pace, so I am calling it speed work.
Today it was raining so I took a rest day. I actually planned it that way. I would have taken Monday as a rest day and run today, but I was expecting the rain do I switched my rest day.
6 -
Managed to get my run in before the drizzle or rain started. Not sure I am going to make 140 for the month but am easily on track to finish my running miles for the year up at 1504 out of 1523 goal total.
Not sure why but not extremely motivated right now. I am sure it will pick up in jan when we all make new fab goals etc.. LOL. I am waiting for a new style Nike running shoe to drop in early Jan so that always gets me running (I mean new shoes right?!)

Thanks for the virtual hug @polskagirl01. Nothing you said was taken in a harmful way, but we really need to send you all the hugs for what you are going through with your family 😢😒
Nice speedwork @kgirlhart!6 -

Hello everyone! Still not feeling good- energy wise, but got out of the car and ran 14km. I hope I get some of my energy back again soon. Until then I will just keep trying to get out there! The run was pretty uneventful except for two prancing deer who crossed my path and an epically muddy hill I had to run down on the way back to the car. I was just telling myself not to fall because my shoes were completely caked and I couldn’t tell by looking at the ground which spots were sink-in squishy and which were firmer and I didn’t want to get the car all dirty (priorities). I didn’t see any other footprints on the hill trail which led me to believe the others probably made better choices than I did .
I had taken the day off today, so I went to the pool afterwards and relaxed in their salt pool which is really warm and just nice and calming. They also have a little sauna which I visited for a short bit too. It felt like doing tempo training just sitting in there, but maybe good for my respiratory track …
So far 62.1/160 km for December!
Oh, in other news, I signed up today for the New Year’s 10k run I did last year where finishers get a sausage from the local farmer. .9 -
@polskagirl01 I’m right there with @Scott6255, totally in agreement, and sending you extra (((hugs))) as well.
Nice runs ya’ll (like my southern drawl). I’m still under the weather - head cold is pretty bad - dislike taking OTC drugs for it - they make me feel a bit loopy since I don’t usually take much of anything ever. Nose is doing more running than I am 🙃6 -
Great running @martaindale ! Enjoy the no school traffic.
Great running @kgirlhart and very speedy 5K!
Nice running @SummerSkier . I'm pretty unmotivated right now too. I'm blaming it on post race blues and short days.
Glad you are feeling better @yirara . Great running.
I hope you get your energy back soon @Laurz9191 . You are doing great to get out there and run when you aren't feeling it. I always have a blanket and/or towels in my car, just in case I need to protect the seat from something. Glad you didn't fall in the mud. I remember that race from last year. Enjoy and we do expect a report and pictures.
I hope you feel better soon @daria0919 !4 -

Humm. I'm with @kgirlhart and thought I posted my exercise yesterday, but don't see it anywhere. I did take a walk yesterday morning and then played doubles tennis for about 2.5 hours last night. It was fun and I played pretty good.
Today, I finished up my Christmas cards. I say finished up, but had only done a few before I left for FL, so basically, I did my Christmas cards today. I was unmotivated to run, but did manage a two mile walk to get up and moving.7 -
