Disabled fitness gurus/professionals?

Hey everyone,
I am 33 and currently suffering from a really intense chronic back injury that may never heal properly (I have been dealing with trying to get better for 9 years, I got better and then I let my progress slip and here I am back where I started). I currently weigh 322 lbs and am 5'2, in an ideal world I would be 160-180 lbs and 10%-12% body fat, so pretty shredded.
What I'm wondering is if anyone knows of any bodybuilders or fitness gurus who have had to deal with their own significant injuries who have published their recovery stories either online or as a book that I can read for encouragement?
Thanks!

I know he was canceled for other reasons, but I thought Bikram’s story about recovering from injury was really fascinating (as is his wild method of very addictive yoga). One idea, and I remember reading his book, just not sure if it was good! If you want just general life inspiration, Linda Olson’s GONE is excellent!! Not a recovery story (she’s a triple amputee) but such a cool perspective. I wonder if any paralympians have cool biographies… now I’m gonna look!! Hope you find the inspiration you’re looking for, and that you find some relief from your pain!1

Disabled paratrooper veteran Arthur Boorman was told for 15 years he would never walk unassisted again:

I just had major orthopedic surgery. This guy has the most accessible workouts I could find. Many seated options. It helped me.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!! When I was first started out I saw this video and WOW!! THis man played often in my mind as I struggled to learn to really walk again, more than a few steps. As often as he fell down, so did I, as often as he got up encouraged me to do the same.
