❤️⭐️2024 Weekly Weigh-in Challenge⭐️❤️

Hello! I'm in my early 40s, and I live in the Northeastern USA. I've gained quite a bit of weight over the past few years, and I'd like to turn that trend around before it causes me any serious health problems. My primary goals for 2024 are to recover from a chronic injury and get back to a healthy (or at least healthier) weight by losing an average of 1-2 pounds per week.
Jan 1: 216.7
Jan 8: 212.3 (-4.4)
Jan 15: 209.2 (-3.1)
Jan 22: 214.5 (+5.3)
Jan 29: 207.6 (-6.9)
Feb 5: 205.6 (-2.0)
Feb 12: 204.3 (-1.3)
Total change for year: -12.4
Average change per week: -2.07
Week 3 reflection: I experienced a spike on the scale after an indulgent weekend, which I expected. As of today (Jan 23), I'm already down 2+ pounds since yesterday, so I don't think I set myself back too badly. I'm sure I'll experience plenty of ups and downs this year, but I'm going to ride them out and stick with this.
Week 4 reflection: Gotta love the crazy swings. I returned to my flexible, moderate approach this week, with calorie deficits ranging from 526 to 844 and averaging 664. All in all, I'm very pleased with how January went. Being flexible and eating more on days when I'm hungry has kept me from being preoccupied with food, versus always aiming for 1200 calories/per day or a 1000 calorie/day deficit.
Week 5 reflection: I started to get bored and impatient this week, but I stuck to the plan and looked for ways to vary my diet a bit. Average daily calorie deficit was 582 (range: 309 to 820). I've noticed my clothes are feeling a little looser, so that's been nice non-scale reinforcement.
Week 6 reflection: I was a bit hungrier this past week, so I ate a little more on average. My average daily calorie deficit was 474. My approach still feels manageable, so I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing this coming week.6 -
@deepwoodslady nice drop! 👏1

Goals for 2024: log food daily, weigh in daily as possible, get to the gym at least 2-3 times a week and drink more water instead of diet soda!
Vacation last week was amazing. Of course I had gained weight when I got back, but a week on a cruise ship and awesome ports took its toll! Its ok, still I am overall down from the start of the year so I take it as a win.

If it looks like I disappear on random days…that’s why! About 10 years ago I lost 135 pounds. Never made it to goal but just sort of leveled off at ~200 pounds. Over time I gained back nearly 50. Working on getting back at least to my low weight of 200. I would like to eventually make it to 150 where I think I would be comfortable.1 -
@ATnowornever : welcome to this challenge and best of luck! You will find people are super nice and supportive in this group, so keep coming back! :-)

Needing some accountability so here I am! 42F/5.5"/149 lbs.
My lowest weight was 136.6 in July and my first goal is to get back to that weight.
Ultimate goal is 130 lbs.
I don't have the healthiest relationship with food and get obsessed over what I eat and tracking makes it worse so I've decided to be kinder to myself by just eating more mindfully and getting in some form of daily exersise. I've also been doing IF (18:6) and it's really helping with some of the "food noise".
I would like to weigh in weekly (Fridays) with everyone to keep track of results.
Jan 5 - 149.2 Weight hasn't budged but definetly feel better, sleeping better and less bloating from IF
Jan 12 - Too afraid to step on the scale. Signed up with a local weight loss center for help.
Jan 19 - 147 Still IF, AF and sticking to my eating plan. Feeling good
Jan 26 - 145.5
Feb 2 - 145.5
Feb 9 - 145
This past week has been a rollercoaster with events and travel. I'm afraid to get on the scale right now. I'm going to weigh in on Saturday and give the water weight some time to go away. Also using Lent as a reason to buckle down for the next month and decline junk food and alcohol.

⚖️ Weekly Weigh-in ⚖️
Still feeling weak and tired, slightly nauseous, and short of breath with any exertion. (Issues I was having before I started my diet from liver problems) So no exercise yet.
But at least I'm not experiencing the aching/sharp pains in my liver area any more, and my belly swelling is going down. So my low carb, no sugar diet is working. 🥳

Good morning,
Last week I was off work, sick. I have not been ill like that in a long time. It wasn't COVID, so I assume just a really heavy cold or flu, but it knocked me for 6. It didn't hinder my awful eating habits though. I couldn't muster the strength to cook, so I basically lived off takeaways for a week.
I am still not 100% and I've hated not being able to swim, but I aiming for major improvements in my eating habits this week and they've been shocking the past 2 weeks.
My Goals for 2024:
📝 Log Daily ❌
🏊♀️ Swim 3x per week ❌
🏋🏻♀️ Strength train 2x per week ❌
🧥 New wardrobe by August 🤞

Hi, I'm Jude. I'm 66 YO, 5' 2" and starting my 2nd month in this challenge. My history includes large swings in weight with up to 50 lb weight gains. Two years ago I was 125 lbs; I started 2024 at 147 lbs.
My goal for 2024: to gradually lose the weight by changing the habits that hurt me and to learn how to integrate and maintain healthy eating habits for good.
January goals:* continue my exercise routine- which has been pretty goodStarting weight: 146.5
* eliminate evening snacking- which is my downfall
* weigh every day- which I avoid and then gain
* log in here every week on Monday so I can't pretend the weekend is "free"!

February goals:
* continue exercise routine, weighing and logging- I know what works, now do it.
* continue to make good choices every day, enjoy food appropriately and within healthy numbers.

My name is Donna. I am 63 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018.
Start Weight (from Jan 31st ): 181.6
Goal Weight: 177.6 (4 pound loss)
End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)
Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

02/12-179.6-(Trend Weight: 181.4)- Stuck to my plan most of the week with good results. Travel today for a dr. appointment.
02/19-179.4-(Trend Weight: 180.5)- As you can see by my trend weight which has dropped dramatically, it’s been an up & down week with very little consistency and not enough structured exercise. I can do better. It’s disappointing that I had many days, many meals with much cooking, planning, logging. Many days of ignored cravings and hunger even that I had to get through. And for just a few moments of pleasure here and there, I only dropped 0.2 in a week. It’s truly not worth it. I’ve got to stick to the plan!

February 9- 177.6 lbs. I can’t believe this! Very happy. I didn’t gain any weight on vacation. I’m starting February’s challenge at the same weight that I ended January’s challenge. Osteo fitness class.

February 19- 176.4 lbs. everyone had fun yesterday and loved the big dinner. I enjoyed cooking the meal. Ate a lot, but in under calories. Haven’t lost any weight in the last week. Overall, I’m losing so slowly , it’s discouraging. Family Day today so all the stores are closed. Everyone took home leftovers, so I need to buy healthy food today. Dance class.
February 20- DNW water shut off in my building
February 21-176.2 lbs. OMG I’m tired of hovering around this number. Haven’t lost anything for last 9 days. Fitness class and gym. I hope it helps. I need to see a whoosh. Will focus on calories today.

Also, my sleep has been awful. If I can do better about those things then I know my progress will be better. Still satisfied though.
