Only working 2 days this week and today is half way over. Yay! It will be a busy, but hopefully good week filled with good friends. Today after work, I'll go to moms, then I'll probably go to trivia tonight with hubby. Tomorrow after work I'm driving about an hour to meet old friends one of which lives 13 hours away the other only 2 hours, but for one night we are all meeting for dinner and drinks. Wednesday is my mom's birthday. She has a doc appt in the morning, then I'll take her out to breakfast if she's willing and maybe shopping. Thursday we are driving up to WVU to do a career fair for work then meeting friends for dinner. Friday is up in the air, maybe a trip to Pittsburgh to see my daughter, maybe dinner with different group of friends. Saturday we are going to a football game and Sunday we are heading home. Really kind of a whirlwind week, but I'm super excited to see everyone.

    JFT Monday
    - Puppy duty until 7:00 ish
    - Work by 8:00 ish
    - Work stuff
    - Check in with JFT MFP
    - Make a bill of sale for the car I gave away Saturday (so fun to give big gifts to deserving people)
    - Go to mom's - take her to buy smokes, pet food and sweet tea
    - Dinner and trivia with hubby
    - Home by 10:00
    - Bed

@PackerFanInGB Thanks for the comments. We had a blast walking the bridge, already thinking we will do it again!

JFT 9/16 M ~ Unseasonably hot here (upper 80s F) & a bit humid for mid-Sept. Having to set alarm all week to walk dog before too hot for us.
    1) Walked dog 3.42 mi :sunglasses: had 2 sandhill cranes fly in for landing right over our heads near the marshy spot, met up with Kim & Bogie, chatted w/ jogger lady & waved to RJ = happy dog & happy me
    2) Leftovers for supper / log all food / net calories green / 80 oz. water
    3) Cancel AT&T/Directv account (hubby has to request since he is lead name on the account) / wash dishes / catch-up Daily Bible (fell behind over weekend) / read / choir rehearsal 6:30 / call Mom / other?

Had a great time working the church parking lot (half mile from Lambeau Field) for the Packers game yesterday morning. But hot! Glad there was a little shade from trees at both entrances. We met two guys from Thunder Bay, Ontario! Even a few Colts fans. Everyone was very friendly. Some asked if the weather was typical for mid-Sept. and we told them definitely not (more like low 70s F). I walked through the lot at least 3-4 times counting the available spots, because church members were coming & going for our three usual morning services. One of the volunteers asked if we could park vehicles on the grass next to the lot, so he directed drivers as they backed in and parked, about a dozen extra cars. We watched quite a few private jets coming in to land at the airport several miles away, even saw the Colts team owner's plane, which we knew because the bottom was painted blue and had their horseshoe logo. We could hear the National Anthem playing at the start, saw & heard the fireworks go off, and watched the fighter jets do the flyover. Then we packed up and went to our own homes to watch the game on TV. LOL

Hi everyone! I know it’s late, but need to make this a habit and be accountable. I had my 3-month CT scans today, so I’m waiting to see the report come through in MyChart. Of course, we are praying no return of cancer. It’s always an anxious time the week or so leading up to scans, so I’ve been emotionally eating a lot of “junk” food. I get so mad at myself when I do that because if my goal is to get healthy and try to stay cancer free, then why the heck do I not make healthier choices? Tomorrow is my maintenance treatment and Wednesday I am having a root canal, so it’s a week of medical appointments…oh the joy. 😬😂😉

It’s summer hot weather in WI today, so I know I won’t want to take a walk this afternoon. Grandson has a soccer game this afternoon also. I don’t know if I’m going…I want to, but I didn’t sleep well at all last night so playing it by ear.

I joined the LiveStrong program at the YMCA last week. There’s a group of 8 of us, 4 men & 4 women. On Monday we introduced ourselves and went over paperwork, and Wednesday they tested our strength and balance to get a baseline fitness level. It was a lot of fun and I was so bummed I have to miss already today and Wednesday! It’s only a 12 week program so I want to get all I can from it. We get a free membership to the Y during the duration of the program too so that’s nice. I’ve never been an exerciser or someone who works out, so I’m looking forward to learning how to use the various machines and building my strength back up.

@mytime6630 I hope you had a nice visit with your high school friends! I seem to remember you get together every year, don’t you? I hope your daughter is doing well. 🫶

@Bex953172 How did Marley like her headphones? I’m glad you were able to get yourself a little something also.

Hope everyone has a great day!

    Just For Today:

She loves her ear defenders. And she does well with not using them all the time. She truly does just use them when she needs them
Glad I got them because she said her classroom is alot noisier than last year 😂 I'm still waiting for the next stage of her assessment.
I think I got a letter in June? Saying it's a 5 month wait for an appointment.

I hope she passes the next test though, be more straightforward that way.
She had her first lot of homework last night, 3 sheets.
    We got one done.
She lost her mind doing her spellings lol!

But I had to explain to her that IF she does have ADHD (because I've told her we don't know for sure until the Dr says so) then she will need to take breaks doing her homework because it will overwhelm her.

Glad I did all the research on it, I really feel I can help her!
Then I need to see if I can get myself diagnosed. Just want to sort her first though.

@PackerFanInGB Good luck with your results! I really hope you get the results you want!!

Haha I don't know why I self sabotage either!! Bad habits die hard!

I have been doing "bits" though. A little bit of logging here and there which I guess is better than nothing!

    I'll get there!

Gym has stayed pretty consistent, and I'm doing more cardio now. This week I might only get one day in though because we've got a busy busy week.

I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone's updates this week but looks like everyone has alot going on. I also have a bit of a chaotic house.. kinda like @littleblackskirt mentioned.

Getting out of the routine is apparently something that I don't do well with.
Still dealing with no internet. Hoping the tech comes out today. They were supposed to be here yesterday and then the damn company auto cancelled the appointment. SO FED UP with this company right now. Not much I can do either as no other providers have service up here. We have never had internet out for this long.

    JFT Tuesday
Get my HIT workout in- DONE(up at 5:30 am and done by 7 am)
    Hit protein goals 113 g
Pray that internet guy shows up and issue is resolved
    Laundry
    Bed by 9:00 pm
Work day should be light today - not alot of meetings

Mom is starting to slow down mentally and physically. I need to get her back on Medicaid so we can get some in home health care, but there are barriers. I think I can get past them, but it will take some time. Yesterday I tried to teach her to answer her phone. I'm not sure she got it. Then her neighbor said she lost her charger. I'll need to get her a new one tomorrow after her doctor's appointment. It's sad to watch her shuffle around confused. She has really declined in the last year. I'm not sure of the next steps.

Meetings at work, then off to see my friends.

    JFT 9/16
    Two Things:
    1) To turn my light off by 9:45 tonight. The last 4 or 5 nights I have been very stupid and haven't gone to bed at the right time. The consequence is that last night I laid awake for hours and could get to sleep until past 1 or maybe even later so I only got a little sleep. I am not looking forward to the headache I feel brimming. ✅ I actually did a really great job at this. I think part of what helped was "turning of the television" (i.e. stop streaming the tv show on my phone) at 8:15, so then wasn't tempted to watch and watch and watch when I got into bed. I also took a benadryl in the hopes that that would make me drowsy. I think it helped and on the plus side I didn't wake up with a slight hungover feeling I sometimes get when taking benadryl.
    2) No outside food - restaurant or storebought. :|This one was sort of okay. The place I get my coffee had free samples. So on the plus side I didn't spend money and it was a smaller portion than is usual. But on the other side, I still shouldn't have taken it.

    JFT 9/17
    1) I still need to go to bed at a decent time. It will be hard because I have church group tonight and we tend to socialize after it is officially over. Which is not a bad thing since I live alone and need all the socializing I can get, but it is not good for my rest. The other thing that will make it hard is I am dog sitting for the next week, so after the church group lets out I will still need to take the dog out for a bit. Which won't take long, but is still a wrench in the plan (is that the saying?).
    2) At said church group, I would like to be careful about what I eat. I don't want to be super rigid at social events like this, but I also don't want to use it as an excuse to make poor choices in what I put on my plate.

    Late posting but need accountability.

Recap 9/16 M ~ Unseasonably hot here (upper 80s F) & a bit humid for mid-Sept. Having to set alarm all week to walk dog before too hot for us.
    1) Walked dog 3.42 mi :sunglasses: had 2 sandhill cranes fly in for landing right over our heads near the marshy spot, met up with Kim & Bogie, chatted w/ jogger lady & waved to RJ = happy dog & happy me
    2) Leftovers for supper / log all food / net calories green / 80 oz. water  good day!
    3) Cancel AT&T/Directv account (hubby has to request since he is lead name on the account) / wash dishes / catch-up Daily Bible (fell behind over weekend) / read / choir rehearsal 6:30 / call Mom <3 / other? TA-DA

JFT 9/17 T ~ still hot like summer
    1) Woke to alarm, not so jarring this morning & walked dog 3.72 mi  walked with Kim & Bogie again, happy dog & happy me
    2) Salmon & rainbow chard for supper / half monte cristo for lunch / log all food / net calories green / 80 oz water

Today was busy with dog walk, errands with hubby, impromptu lunch date with hubby, unexpected text & long phone call with friend, former coworker & tax preparer to review her analysis & make decisions. Updated my financial notes for future reference. Set up clothes line and gathered dirty clothes for tomorrow. Loaded dishwasher & ran while I washed remaining pots, etc. Prepared late supper. Now just chilling and watching TV.

    JFT- Rough day today.
I started out early with a workout that that was done by 7 am. that was the high of the day. Things just got worse from there. Worked all day and waited for internet tech to show up to fix our internet that is ow 6 days down . Even called this afternoon and confirmed he was still scheduled because he hadn't shown up yet and I was suspect it was going to happen . I was told on the call he was 45 minutes away and on his way to us at 4 pm .and guess what? He never showed.. no call, no text, nothing.. just never showed . I should have known. The issues we have been facing is beyond comprehension at this point. I could not bear to get on the phone again with these people so the hubby called. Lots of canned customer services responses and thin apologies that at this point mean nothing . Supposed to have someone out tomorrow now.. we shall see.

The 15 year shepherd we have has not been doing great. We took her to the vet again today for bloodwork. Turns out she is in Kidney failure. We had to buy special prescription food that is quite expensive that she now has to be on. Basically beyond that there is nothing we can do. She is the best dog and everything else shows she is in perfect health Its basically a waiting game until she becomes sick enough to make that hard decision. ofcourse most shepherds don't live this long. She's beat the odds and I am so grateful to still have her with us. But this was hard news to bear.

I missed posting yesterday. Had my osteopath visit, and she is fairly confident it is a back issue which is giving me the pain elsewhere and affecting my walking. So may have another couple of treatments.

Today is a day at home, catching up with things.

SO far behind on posts... so when I get home I'll catch up! Its been a crazy month.. first, our daughters car needs the timing belt changed... which costs $3000! So, as a result, I am being mom taxi again... taking her to work when she works, picking her up, taking her to get haircut, going to the gym, runs, etc. I'm not used to doing this again!
Then.. my husband bought me a new bike, and I way overdid it! I used to ride 20 miles easily.. well, I had been biking maybe 3-5, so on a beautiful sunday morning.. I took it to a park near us with a biking trail. I ended up going about 10 miles... and my leg hurt like crazy. Then... my high school friends came to shop.. and did we shop. From 11 am until the stores closed at 8. It was fun, but my leg was already hurting... and I'm sure this did not help. After almost 2 weeks of not knowing what to do.. .do I exercise, do I not, what to do! So, I have a friend at the gym that is a physical therapist. He gave me exercises to do, and that is helping. (told me it was most likely sciatic nerve) But.. I can't even sew because its my right foot... and driving is also bad. But... I'm on the mend.
I also am realizing simple things I am getting where its harder to do... like getting up from a toilet seat without holding onto stuff. This scares me... I think I am physically fit, but you guys... at 73 things do change. If I don't keep exercises, doing squats, etc, these things just keep getting harder and harder. Not to mention the fact that I am now almost 30 pounds overweight.
So today I am going to a silver sneakers class and a chair yoga. I think just learning what to do to keep my mobility. And.. I have got to get serious about getting this weight off. The longer I wait, the harder it gets... and I am the only one to do this! I know what to eat... and I do eat healthy. But, like last nite... got into trail mix.. you know.. its nuts and raisins. Healthy, right? No, not when you eat a half of bag.
So... I gotta run right now to take my daughter to work, but I wanted to at least post. so sorry i've been MIA again for such a long time. I know what I need to do... its up to me to do it.

@HappyDonkey75 Sorry about your dog. They are our babies. I can relate to prescription pet food. Our 14 yo Kitty has been on that for at least half her life. All this for a cat we got for free at the Humane Society. LOL

Recap 9/17 T ~ still hot like summer
    1) Woke to alarm, not so jarring this morning & walked dog 3.72 mi  walked with Kim & Bogie again, happy dog & happy me

    JFT- Rough day today.
I started out early with a workout that that was done by 7 am. that was the high of the day. Things just got worse from there. Worked all day and waited for internet tech to show up to fix our internet that is ow 6 days down .

I'm sorry to hear about the internet troubles. I don't know how I would manage without it.

We've just reduced our speeds to change to a different tariff. We told the kids that the internet might not be great with us all using it at once and the eldest actually cried 😂 I think she thought we meant it wouldn't work.

Im also very sorry about the news of your shepherd. My dog turns 8 this year and even at this point I worry about the inevitable. I hope that time doesn't come soon! Xx
