    No recap, since i didn't post or log yesterday, which was Father's Day (U.S.). After church, hubby and I made our sandwich lunches to take with us (my sister & BIL do the same, so our folks don't have to worry about feeding us). Then we went to visit my parents (85 mile drive). Glad to see aunt, all three brothers and their (2) wives, sister & her hubby. It was a very sedentary day, including extra mileage for a detour due to bridge being replaced that I did not know about before. Only got 4,242 steps. Balanced somewhat by Saturday's 9,273 steps on a REST day lol.

    I showed sister a photo given to me by Mom, that had been returned to her by long-time friend cleaning stuff out. Youngest SIL decided we needed to re-create the photo (61 years later), which was very fun. Since parents still live in the same house, even more special. Youngest brother wasn't born yet, he didn't come along for another 11 months. Sharing here for kicks:

    JFT 6/17 M ~ humidity 80% (ACK!) and temps already in 70s at 7 a.m. so skipping dog walk today
    1) Hamburgers, asparagus & another side for supper / log all food / NO crazy snacking / 80+ oz. water
    2) PT exercises / min. 7,500 steps
    3) Inside chores in air-conditioning today as much as possible. Track R2AK / wash dishes / clean as needed empty milk jugs given to me by family / fill jugs (rain barrels full again from yesterday a.m. rain showers) / scan & upload tax return docs to financial advisor / usual Mon. trash duties / MCM in Italy 8:00 / prep for bank chores T / prep to donate old newspapers / read / other?

    1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be thrilled if I can get back down to 160# this year
    • Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
    • Take measurements & log on MFP every month end
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    • Try new recipes Unfortunately, no wall oven until mid-Feb or later & sad me, but try slow cooker & stove recipes... wall oven installed 2/26 but no new recipes yet.
      * lentil rice sausage tortellini soup (internet) ~ very good, recipe is keeper
      * glazed lemon cookies (internet search) ~ everyone loved them at Easter dinner
      * rhubarb cobbler (in my first ever cookbook BH&G) ~ very good, I want to try with other fruits this summer
      * yellow cake (BH&G cookbook) ~ I followed instructions closely & blended well, very good with rhubarb sauce
      * white chicken enchiladas (newspaper) ~ very good, although 2 tortillas with recipe as written 846 calories (created in MFP recipes)
    3) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x):
    January: 5 days x2wks, 4x1, 3x1, 1x1 [1 wk lots of snow & 1 wk bitter cold so shoveling, treadmill & PT, 1 wk 4 day trips out of town]
    February: 6 days x1wk, 5x1, 4x1, 2x1 [2 wks overnight trips to visit parents]
    March: 5 days x1wk, 4x1, 3x1, 0x1 [ack... prep house & food for Easter dinner; 1 wk overnight trip to visit parents]
    April: 4 days x2wks, 3x1, 2x1 [lots of lousy weather, plus 1 wk overnight trip]
    May: 6 days x2wks, 3x3 [fit days in around 2 overnight trips & visit on Mother's Day]
    June: 6 days x1wk {including Bellin 10K}
    • Walk dog 3-4 miles, treadmill when necessary in winter, weights/my home version of circuit & other x-training
    • PT (physical therapy) exercises to strengthen arthritic knees & hip flexor

      4) MapMyWalk app You Vs. the Year 1,024km challenge started on Jan. 1
      • In 2023 I logged 726.88 miles, or 1,169.8 km & completed yearly challenge 11.14.23 :star:
      • In 2022 I logged 500.4 miles, or 805km (knee issues).
      5) At least 7,500 steps per day
      • I can earn $10 every month on my Medicare Advantage Plan with 10+ days of 7,500 steps:

      6) Participate in my favorite area races ~ I walk, I do not run

    I'm back at work today, and it is toasty in here. Building AC isn't working well and the heat index outside is >100F. I had a portable AC unit in my office, but I gave it to a lab with specialized equipment that needs to be cool.

    After work, I'll make dinner: Pulled pork, Sweet potato fries and green beans. Or at least that is the plan. Then I need to vacuum rugs and clean the floors. Happy homemaker was easier when I didn't have to work all day first. I feel for singles, especially single parents of young ones.

    Oh... On a happy note, my jeans zipped without me laying on the bed or sucking it in today. I haven't weighed, but this is definitely better than it was.

    Stayed up watching hockey and swimming Olympic trials. Hometown boy made the finals of the 100m freestyle. He moved to Florida his senior year to swim, but he’s still a WV kid.

    Other than that not much planned.

    Diets going well so far, not had any biscuits OR crisps. and you all know how much I love crisps haha I used to have a pack every night. Couldn't imagine doing that now!

    Have been feeling a little on the hungry side though but I'm guessing I'll adjust or just need to find some low cal snacks to fill the gaps!

    I've mainly just been eating fruits, vegs, proteins and fats but trying to eat "good fats" but I've definitely made a change.
    Now just need to wait for the results!

    Did none of my chores yesterday, and I'm kind of ok with that. I went to trivia and then after trivia I went to The Dixie to shoot pool. It's an old school local bar, but I had never been there. Had a lot of fun didn't drink as it was getting late and I was driving. There was one guy there who knew me. I know his wife, but don't recall ever having met him before. Anyway, he was nice. I played ok, not great. Got home much later than anticipated, but hubby was cool about it. Today is a work day, but there aren't many folks here. We had Juneteenth off and a lot of folks decided to make it a long weekend. Meetings are being canceled left & right. I need to get out by 4:00 so I can meet a friend to ride bikes this evening. Not sure what we are riding, roads, trails or gravel, but it will be fun.

    Late posting today, but better than last two days not posting at all. Just didn't make time with all the other stuff.

    JFT 6/20 R ~ started morning off raining again, stopped for now & hopefully this evening
    1) Purchase salad for supper at garden / one adult beverage / log all food (best guess) / NO crazy snacking / 80+ oz. water
    2) Min. 7,500 steps
    3) Massage 11:15 aahhh! / wash dishes / empty kitchen bucket & flower vase in compost bin / pick up hubby's supper at grocery deli (he doesn't care for the healthy food by the local vendor at the garden LOL) / GBBG concert 6:00 (take umbrella just in case, bug spray, can koozie, light jacket?) / other?

    This morning I tried a new recipe for breakfast parfait with almond butter (my first time trying, very good), Greek yogurt, granola, fresh fruit, berry syrup, honey, cinnamon. It was very good, although high in calories. I may tweak the recipe (I usually try a recipe as written, the first time) to cut the calories. Otherwise, really need a good workout that day!

    Speaking of workouts, haven't had a dog walk since last Friday. Between lots of rain and very hot/humid weather this week, no chance. Sad me & sad dog. Did do PT one of the days I didn't have much else going on.

    • Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
    • Take measurements & log on MFP every month end
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    • Try new recipes Unfortunately, no wall oven until mid-Feb or later & sad me, but try slow cooker & stove recipes... wall oven installed 2/26 but no new recipes yet.
      * lentil rice sausage tortellini soup (internet) ~ very good, recipe is keeper
      * glazed lemon cookies (internet search) ~ everyone loved them at Easter dinner
      * rhubarb cobbler (in my first ever cookbook BH&G) ~ very good, I want to try with other fruits this summer
      * yellow cake (BH&G cookbook) ~ I followed instructions closely & blended well, very good with rhubarb sauce
      * white chicken enchiladas (newspaper) ~ very good, although 2 tortillas with recipe as written 846 calories (created in MFP recipes)
      * Greek yogurt almond butter breakfast parfait (newsletter) ~ terrific, if high in calories... maybe tweak
    3) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x):
    January: 5 days x2wks, 4x1, 3x1, 1x1 [1 wk lots of snow & 1 wk bitter cold so shoveling, treadmill & PT, 1 wk 4 day trips out of town]
