Hi, hope you find committing to doing something (anything!) for Just One Day helpful. I find if I list something in the morning I'm more likely to do it because I don't want to have to report that I failed the next day. Which is why I'm about to drag myself out for a walk right now!

Found the book mark guess I still have to go into the motivation then find it but good start.
I walked almost 5km here in Canada despite the heat.
I got groceries and did some meal prep.
I took a nap as I’m just feeling really out of it after vacation (over tired over alcoholed over fed, over peopled.)

I made protein brownies and hard boiled some eggs .. and I had a salad for lunch for the first time in over a week.

    JFT Saturday 27th July

    Log everything ✅
    Stay in the green ✅
    No snacking ✅ 21/30
    PF exercises ✅
    General exercises ✅
    Walk ✅

Always nice when I'm in the green on a weekend day :) I truly did try with my tax return, spent about an hour and a half on it, until I was glazed over and confused. Need to google and read up some more before I try again. (Uk tax office likes people to return online, which is fine, but their help sheets talk about where to put figures in boxes, which are only on the old paper returns. It can be very confusing when you're trying to do something a bit different from normal.).

    JFT Sunday 28th July

    Log everything
    Stay in the green
    No snacking
    PF exercises
    General exercises
    Walk?

Not sure about a walk today, will see how my back feels this evening. I was up early to join a volunteer group in cleaning up the town, did some street weeding and sorted some planters. Pleased my back held out okay. Was a lovely dry morning.

Following a vacation I opted out of dinner out last night and told a friend I needed a dry day.
We went to the drive in movies!
I did have some all dressed chips, however : I didn’t drink , and I made super healthy lunch and dinner , so all in all I think I’ll still call it a win.
I also did meal prep for the next few days including protein brownies!

    JFT:
I made a healthy omelette and drinking water.
-Thinking about going and visiting and working with my horse.
1Could get back to the gym?
    -drink 2 L water!
    -no alcohol
    - complete lunch meal prep for the week
    - Log food!!
    - No mindless snacking, last meal before 8.

Recap 7/27 Sat. ~ sunny day with nice breeze & heating up a bit more, temp presently 86F (30C) ~ didn't get up early enough for long walk with dog so planned rest day
    1) Log all food ~ pesto whitefish & corn on cob for supper, fresh from farmers market = yum / no crazy snacking ~ crackers & Jarlsberg cheese, which I weighed & counted / 80 oz. water ~ only 64 oz. net calories not as low as should be, but not horrible
    2) Min. 7,500 steps / maybe PT exercises?
    3) Farmers market / laundry (2 loads hanging outside) / scrub/refill both birdbaths / bloom boost in flower pots / water remaining pots on patio & front steps / CPS3 cancer screening survey / watch Olympics / read / other? balanced bank accts, updated budget s/s, online banking survey (not loving the website changes, but that's bc I'm older and don't need all the visual "aids" like some people, clean & simple more my style), cleaned toilets (probably my least favorite household task... hubby said he was going to do, he actually had the cleanser out, but then left it sitting there & I was sick of waiting ~ at least he disposed of dead mouse in trap in garage in the morning, his redemption LOL), refilled bloom boost jugs from rain barrel, all laundry folded/hung & put away upstairs, several games of Rummikub with hubby on patio  TA-DA!

JFT 7/28 Sunday ~ forecasted humidity starting... UGH
    1) Church 9:00
    2) Log all food / no crazy snacking / limit sweets / 80 oz. water
    3) Min. 7,500 steps / PT exercises
    4) Wash dishes / shop Sam's Club (rotisserie chicken for supper & instant savings buys) / read / watch Olympics / start packing for overnight visit to parents' tomorrow / set alarm to walk dog early (before heat is horrible) / other?

Weather forecast for this entire week is for HOT & HUMID = ACK!. Means I have to get up extra early in order to walk dog. Probably will stick to our neighborhood, which is mostly shaded, plus if heat & humidity are too much for either dog or myself, we can cut our walk short. If I do nearly every cul de sac possible & go through park (1/2 mile away), we can get in at least 3 miles. We shall see. I am thankful for central air conditioning!

    Recap yesterday :
I DID all my meal prep for lunches this week.
    I rode my horse!
I ate fairly clean all day! And drank water .

I did have some pizza for supper and I DID have 2 drinks while attempting to assemble a gazebo that was actually missing parts (f Peaveymart!) but for the most part, I made good choices and didn’t snack, or “pantry hunger” before bed.

    It Monday July 29:
Back to work today after over a week on holidays ugh!

Walk Miska (the dog)- completing currently
Healthy lunch , avoid office crap snacks
    Gym after work
Do not kill coworkers first day back 😂
    Drink water !

I've been stalking y'all and keeping up with everyone, just haven't been very involved lately. May finally hate myself enough to make some changes. Not really, but you know what I mean. I'm fed up with my excuses. It also doesn't help that I've been under the weather the last couple of days and then hit TOM. What a lovely combo of emotional motivators...

    JFT Monday
    - Eat light breakfast  a nectarine
    - Eat lunch
    - Meetings
    - Deal with credit card fraud situation
    - More meetings
    - Stay in tonight
    - No alcohol

@pridesabtch Glad to see you post again. I am struggling myself, mainly with eating. I do well for a day or two, then undo all that with a day like yesterday. Ack!

Recap 7/28 Sunday ~ forecasted humidity starting... UGH
    1) Church 9:00
    2) Log all food ~ supper was not as planned due to no rotisserie chickens at store, so we bought hatch chili chicken enchiladas instead, not exactly calorie lite / no crazy snacking ~ way too many dried banana chips / limit sweets ~ success here anyways / 80 oz. water ~ 64 I think :s crap eating supper & evening
    3) Min. 7,500 steps / PT exercises too lazy
    4) Wash dishes / shop Sam's Club (rotisserie chicken for supper & instant savings buys) / read / watch Olympics / start packing for overnight visit to parents' tomorrow ~ I did this while dog was downstairs, so she didn't start to stress out that I'm leaving / set alarm to walk dog early (before heat is horrible) / other? TA-DA!

    JFT 7/29 M
    1) Walked dog (neighborhood only) 2.33 mi  temp was 72 when we left house & rose to 77(F) by time we got home, humidity was dreadful & I was dripping, but happy dog
    2) Log food to best of ability (will have supper at Mom & Dad's) / no crazy snacking or sweets / 80 oz. water

This afternoon I drive to my parents' house (85 miles away), to visit & spend the night. I have to stay flexible with each visit. Meals there have a routine. Tonight I'll eat whatever leftovers Dad (chief cook) has around for supper. Tomorrow morning, I will join Mom & aunt with some lady friends (including our former next door neighbor, who's in her mid-90s) for coffee & light breakfast. Then Dad cooks their main meal for noon. Possible walk with my aunt one or both days. Glad I'm able to do this, as both parents are in their late 80s. Be patient. Maybe'll I'll see one or more of my brothers, who all live in the same town or just outside town.

    About me:
    I'm Carmela
This is my lifestyle. It's. Not. A. Diet.
    Height 5'4"
    66 yrs old
Reside in Green Bay, WI, USA

    2024 Goals:
    1) Ultimate goal weight 150#... I'll be thrilled if I can get back down to 160# this year
    • Post weekly weigh-in on MFP for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
    • Take measurements & log on MFP every month end
    2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
    • Try new recipes Unfortunately, no wall oven until mid-Feb or later & sad me, but try slow cooker & stove recipes... wall oven installed 2/26 but no new recipes yet.
      * lentil rice sausage tortellini soup (internet) ~ very good, recipe is keeper
      * glazed lemon cookies (internet search) ~ everyone loved them at Easter dinner
      * rhubarb cobbler (in my first ever cookbook BH&G) ~ very good, I want to try with other fruits this summer
      * yellow cake (BH&G cookbook) ~ I followed instructions closely & blended well, very good with rhubarb sauce
      * white chicken enchiladas (newspaper) ~ very good, although 2 tortillas with recipe as written 846 calories (created in MFP recipes)
      * Greek yogurt almond butter breakfast parfait (newsletter) ~ terrific, if high in calories... maybe tweak
      * garlic scape basil pesto (internet blog) ~ excellent! tried as recommended with pasta (used up my radiatore)
      * summer squash, zucchini, mushroom casserole (TOH) ~ excellent! & good way to use squash & zucchini
      * zucchini meatloaf (sister) ~ good but hubby prefers classic recipe
    3) Exercise 5-6x per week (minimum 4x):
January: 5 days x2wks, 4x1, 3x1, 1x1 [1 wk lots of snow & 1 wk bitter cold so shoveling, treadmill & PT, 1 wk 4 day trips out of town]

April: 4 days x2wks, 3x1, 2x1 [lots of lousy weather, plus 1 wk overnight trip]

    June: 6 days x1wk {including Bellin 10K}, 5x1, 2x2 {either very rainy or hot for 2 wks}
    July: 5 days x1wk {including Packers 5K}, 4x2, 3x1 {some very hot/humid days}
    • Walk dog 3-4 miles, treadmill when necessary in winter, weights/my home version of circuit & other x-training

      • In 2022 I logged 500.4 miles, or 805km (knee issues).
      5) At least 7,500 steps per day
      • I can earn $10 every month on my Medicare Advantage Plan with 10+ days of 7,500 steps [noticed 7/12 that requirement reduced to 5,000 steps, but I'll continue with goal of 7,500]:
        Jan / Feb / Mar / Apr / May / June / July
      6) Participate in my favorite area races ~ I walk, I do not run

      7) Be considerate and loving to hubby and have fun together

      8) Make efforts to keep in touch with parents, siblings and friends (most live in other towns or states)
      • Visit parents 1-2 times each month, phone calls in between ~ they're in their late 80s and live 85 miles away

@csilverthorn22 Welcome! I think I would have needed a couple of drinks whilst putting up a gazebo!!

And Miska is a lovely name for a dog! What breed is he/she?
Our dogs called Biggie (after the rapper 😂) and he's a whippet cross.

It was Marley's 8th birthday on the 13th July, so a couple of weeks ago. But her helium '8' balloon was still going! But it was also getting in the way.. she didn't want to deflate it until we showed her what happens when you inhale it!

Me and her dad both did it to show her, she really wanted a go and so did the others. But because of her ADHD she got overwhelmed at everyone wanting a go at once (and naturally she wanted to go first as it was her balloon) and she tried taking it from me and I was just trying to keep the hole closed. And she ended up shouting "Will everyone just stop!!!!"

I turned to her and said "Why you shouting at me?" ... I was still under the influence of helium and it came out squeaky and she couldn't help but laugh. We gave her a sec to calm down and she had a go and sang some songs 😂 the other two had a go and she finished off the balloon.

We also went for a walk yesterday with the kids. It was so hot 🥵 Casey asked for my phone to take some photos. She took like 10 of me walking from behind.
I've looked back at them and just... Eugh. Suppose I do look better than I did, but not enough!!!
Need to watch my diet more.

I KNOW what I should and shouldn't be eating so why do I eat the things I shouldn't?!

Ah well. Kids are off for 5 weeks now. But not this week but next week they're booked in for holiday activities on Tues, Weds and Thurs, 10am - 2pm.
Which means I can hit the gym and go food shopping in peace!!

But no gym this week, I don't wanna go on my own!

@pridesabtch Glad to see you post again! I was also lurking but wondering where you got to! I know what you mean about hating yourself enough to make changes. Sometimes a good shame gets my butt in gear! But can also make me feel like poo so gotta be in the right mind frame for a bit of self-shaming lol xx

I've really only been at this current weight loss push for just over a week, but this time around I'm being hyper-critical of the way my body looks (lumpy, squishy, flabby, etc) and how I let myself get here and the fast that while I lost 3+ lb in the first week, I gained 2 or so of it back. Today I need to stop beating my self up because it's not fair and I know better. I need to get these thoughts out so paper journal tonight after work taht's my JFT

Hour commitment - After my yogurt, I won't eat again until after 5 pm. None of the same foods at dinner as at lunch. Can still have my dose of metamusal.
