Here is the link to the squat challenge. You can do the suggested challenge or create your own (I created my own)
Annie, I think you listen to books on Audible. Look for "Atomic Habits" by James Clear and "Better Than Before" by Gretchen Rubin. They helped me in building and keeping new useful habits. Everybody knows that eating broccoli is better than eating candy and walking is better than sitting, the problem is training yourself to consistently do those things that you know are good for you.
Bone density scan, the procedure is easier than any other medical test. The hard parts for me are that I have to wear clothes that are different from what I usually wear and that I have to go somewhere to have it done.

Heather - The marker images are quite kicky, and they look like you're having fun together. While you're playing, you should play with different paper textures - they act quite differently on different papers and surfaces from canvas to various fabrics as well.
Rita - Sorry I don't have advice on where to look for your watch. Terribly frustrating, I know, especially with something expensive. It was always quite helpful to make me do impromptu cleaning, though, if there is any silver lining.
Barbara - Waking up from those high-emotion dreams always leaves a sticky hangover for me, I'm glad that you were able to use my philosophizing to help, even if just a little.
Vicki & Heather - And everyone who commented on my contretemps with Corey and his preciouses... Mainly because of your suggestions, and just the fact that there was a possibility to change things, I called him today and asked him if he'd be willing to drag it down to the old stable, where so much of his collected stuff now exists. It would not be visible there from the house. He laughed and said we'll take a look at it. I'm OK with that. I can't believe it took me six years to ask for that...
Anyway, the kids have come and gone and I have pictures of the new apartment, which is not to my taste (dark wood, dark granite, dark tile - very modern), but is making them very happy. Plus lots of amenities quite near them. I hope they're very happy there.
I just woke up from a wonderful and badly needed nap which hopefully helped me recover somewhat from Tuesday's cleaning binge and then the overnight guests last night. Cardio in the morning, gastro in the afternoon, still debating whether to drive home a half hour to rest for only a couple hours in between. I guess I'll play it by ear.
Much love from sunny, balmy, Arkansas,
Lisa
My face. I have noticed that in "resting Rebecca face" I have lines on both sides of my mouth pulling it visually down. So not a fun thing to look at! So I try to smile, as my momma used to say, "to give the world a pretty picture and make it reflect back onto you".
I wanna look at smiling people.😁

Barbie - could you try to re-attach the link? It did not show up for me.

Hello, all...
Heather, holy shamoley, they're all just growing so fast! Max's face has lengthened too, he and Edie both look more adult in each pic.
Allie - So love the pics of Siri, she looks like a peaceful little soul. You need a little of that in your life.
As for the rest, I'm sorry, in and out of my leaky brain... kinda stressful morning: Medical stuff, bad, good, good, bad, worse of my overall morning: 😯😣😀🙃🥺The cardiology appointment was what I expected, basically gearing up to get the Watchman (stroke-risk diminishing thingie) inserted in my heart, but that won't be until well up into the summer. That was kind of the bad, but could have been worse. First a stress test (whee! 🙃) and a heart ultrasound from the inside in April, that they'll knock me out for. Camera down my esophagus, ultrasound close-up check on my heart to make sure it's not got clots (say that 5 times fast).
Stopped into the orthopedics folks next door, and they got my referral in from the VA to get my knees looked at, and were able to get me an appointment next week to see the doc (first good) and were able to assist in getting the records request put through for my five-year-ago knee replacement to answer the VA's request that I do so. (second good).
Then I left and went into the shopping district to get a late breakfast. By the time I was halfway there, my gut started in spasm (I have Crohn's, for those who don't know) and I had to stop at a Schlotzsky's sandwich shop and use their bathroom to clean up and change clothes. One place I won't be going back to for a while. (second bad).
Because I carry a full change of pants, etc., with me, I was able to walk out of there with my head held high... and I thought that was it for the day, so I went and had Eggs Benedict at Village Inn. I left there, headed for my third medical visit of the day... and the next blow-out began within a hundred yards. So I drove a half hour home, gut in spasm the whole way. (That was definitely the worst).
Finished getting everything cleaned up and called the gastro to ask if they could call me for a TeleHealth instead. They could not, but they rescheduled me in about 12 days to try again. The irony that the reason I couldn't get there was the reason I was going there, to begin with, was pretty much lost on them.
Tough day.
But, I'm back home, and once I was able to peel Egg off me, I figured I'd give y'all the upshot. She always seems to know when I'm not well, and feels she can fix me by sitting on me and purring. I've had worse doctors! She's definitely good for my mental health.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR

Kim ~ Your friend made you a beautiful piece of art in remembrance of Levi.
Heather ~ The photos of the grands are great. Yes, they are getting taller. It is still very difficult for me to realize how my our grandson has grown over the past year. He will be 14 in March and is already almost 6' tall, voice deepened, and the beginning of whiskers.
Lisa ~ So sorry about your mishaps as you tried to get a meal! I am sure that was in no way a fun experience but am glad you have the foresight to bring extra clothes when you go out.
Carol in GA2 -
Heather - Thank you - it helps so much to just lay it out in black and white and at least try to regain my equilibrium. Hard to maintain my balance on days like this.
Carol - Thank you. I carry my kit with me everywhere. My oldest grandson's voice broke as well, and was so deep the last time I spoke to him on the phone that I barely recognized him. It's only been moments since I held him in my arms!
Kim - The flower images are a lovely gift.
In my safe, calm, space and settling down, moment by moment. The stresses at the cardiologist may well have been the trigger, so am reading and staying serene. Talked to my husband and my sis, also helpful. Now just crackers and tea, and a cat who's acting like a weathervane for my reactions.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR5 -
Lisa sorry you had a bad day.
Well, my dad interrupted me five times while I was trying to read so now your comments are all jumbled in my head.
Barbie I looked at Rubin's book on Amazon and put it in my cart. You are wise, I don't know why I thought the grass might be greener with Noom.
I did well today. I bought muffins for my aunt, and only ate half of one.
My aunt is feeling better, and she has a lot of high tech help. She has a phone tablet device she can use to zoom with her doctor 3x a day. And nurses can get after her about pills and the nebulizer. So much better than being in the hospital.
Next I have to think of something for Dad for dinner. Something nasty so I won't eat it!
And then I made plans to go out to lunch with Craig on Monday. I told him I would eat a salad. Maybe.
Have a great evening!

Heather - I’ve always thought that the worse someone can say to me when I’m asking for something is no.
Max sure has had a growth spurt!
Bea is sure sweet.
Machka - I remember our cats bringing dead stuff to the door growing up. No! Just No! I don’t want your gifts!
Lanette - I admire that you still keep a wood stove going . They are a lot of work.
Celebrating and Navigating - doesn’t that sum up life. I love it!
Annie - I need to get back to the Just for Today thread too. It helped me lose 25 lbs in 2018/2019
I keep putting some goals, then not meeting them. So stop again. I need to just keep with it.
I have never tried anything I’ve had to pay for, one it was not something I wanted to spend my money on and two I know what I need to do, I just need to do it.
Michele - I will be clear-coating the whole piece before I add snow. I do this so it can be cleaned without ruining the paint. I use acrylics not glaze.
Rita - those squats are really helping. I need to do some again.
Debbie - I am quite claustrophobic and the bone density is very open, nothing like a MRI.
It was when I had a nap a couple years ago that I realized I had Covid. I don’t nap either.
I’m saying that, I’m seriously thinking about it this afternoon, my friend kept me up late last night.
Kim - what a lovely reminder of Levi.
Barbie - I see that Atomic Habits is at Costco this week, it must me an updated version or re-release maybe.
Lisa - sorry you had an up and down day. My Mom was never diagnosed with anything, but I think she had Crohn’s disease. She used to have the same problem. I think they didn’t pay attention to her because she was a bit of a hypochondriac. It was probably all related though.
I am disappointed with my mark for my final exam. I think most of it is the wording of the questions and the multiple choice answers they give. I did write to the instructor to explain myself but I’m sure there is nothing he can do about it. he doesn’t write the exams. If it was him it would be so much better.
I still passed 34/40 and my final grade for the session is 96.25% but it’s frustrating.
I put my little cabinet together today, I am disappointed in it too. It’s too small for the spot I bought it for. My daughter’s and DH all suggested I buy another one to put beside it. It will give me more storage and fill the space better. So I guess I’ll order another on payday. I have $50 of Amazon gift cards from rewards so it will be less than $100 out of pocket.

Kim - that Levi pawprint painting made me reach for a tissue. Great idea. What a wonderful reminder of your beautiful fella.
Lisa ((HUGS)) - glad your medical appointments were at least partially successful. You're going to have a busy summer once the docs really get ahold of you. Glad you are back home at peace with your kitty.
Allie - Siri is a sweetie, look at her napping on the pillow. Nice that she is working out so well. Is Alfie warming up to her?
Debbie - glad they finally got to X-ray that tooth. Good luck with filling coming up. You are doing a great job on your walking by the way.
Rebecca - beautiful photo and beautiful smile. When do your boys go back?
Tracey - sorry you are disappointed in your final grade. I think a 96.25% is very good, but I understand where you are coming from. You are one of the most articulate people I know, your posts here are well thought out and reflect your intelligence and wisdom. Perhaps your teacher would be willing to write a letter of recommendation. What's next in your training?
I had a busy afternoon. Finally got tired of pawing through stacks of papers in the office so I brought the piles out to the dining room table and started sorting. About 1/2 of them went into the shredding box, the rest will need to be filed. Also I took a look in the little file cabinet by the desk in the office. About 2/3 of those files went into the shredding box.
Do you think I'll need my car insurance policy from 2014? Me neither.
Have a good weekend, ladies!

Well I sent a text to the tenant from hades yesterday reminding her that she now owes 2 months rent as of today. She threw another temper tantrum and called the sheriff again. Two officers arrived just as I was leaving to go to the pulmonologist. They talked to me briefly and then told me I could go so I did. Got to the doctor and my BP was quite high. Doc wanted to know why my pulse was only 52 so had to explain how left bundle branch blockage caused wonky heartbeat when I was stressed. Had a good visit with him in spite of it.
Neighbor who was outside at the time pruning trees reported she was later yelling at the officers and that they parked down the street and watched for a while. She has told me not to contact her but her lawyer but won't give us lawyer's name. I suspect there is no lawyer. Keeps life exciting.
Kim - I love the picture of the flowers made from Levi's paw prints. What a perfect keepsake for you.
Lisa - sorry the Crohn's is acting up. My son has it and when my DGS was going to swim meets he bought an RV to take to the meets so he would always have his own bathroom.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA8 -
Tracey - I'd buy the other cabinet, but I'd stack them. Saves your floor space, and would still be a nice wooden counterpoint to your painted china cabinet, while giving you twice the storage. It's generally easy to safely stack them with a bit of glue. Just a thought. I've lived in small spaces for quite a bit of my life, as well.
I get the disappointment in the 96.25%, but that would be magna cum laude honors in any college in the U.S. You're excelling among your peers, dear heart. Hang onto that. I'm so proud of you.
Heading for bed early.

I am now wondering about intermittent claudication. I took my blood pressure this morning, just about OK, and did my ankle. Pressure was higher in my ankle, but I wasn't sure what I was doing. If it's lower there's a problem.
Lanette - my son, his dad, is 6ft 2ins.Max was always a bit short for his age, so it must be a relief to him. Edie had a growth spurt over Christmas, which pleased her, as she was also short. Her mum is tiny. Bea is taller than average at the moment.
Just waiting for Bea to turn up.

So not sjogrens syndrome?
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/4929-sjogrens-syndrome
I wonder sometimes if I've got sjogrens syndrome because I've got a large number of the symptoms and a family history.
For me, drinking lots of water is not a problem because I always have a dry mouth and throat and drinking water relieves it.
What about compartment syndrome? Have you looked into that?
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15315-compartment-syndrome
Also, what's your water intake like and do you take a daily magnesium supplement?

My husband made me an incredible chicken soup! and I am trying to drink a lot of liquid. I don't like to drink water when I am sick so I made cold herbal tea. I love the new blueberry flavor I got. I am pre diabetic so I don't drink juice.
Thank you for welcoming into your group!

My husband and I have signed up for fencing lessons!!
Machka in Oz8 -
Lanette - This diploma course is broken up into different sessions. Once we complete a session, we get a final grade for that particular session. So I still have 5 more sessions to do before my 2 month practicum starts before receiving my diploma. I’m doing well my average is over 95% for the whole course so far, but I don’t like when it’s the wording that messes up my marks.
Thank you for your kind words about me.
Sue - can you legally evict her? I know it will be a hassle but maybe you can have the sheriff assist?
What a mess.
Lisa - I hadnt thought of stacking. The only problem would be reaching the drawers. Hmmmm something to consider.
I don’t know if this school does that or not. I should check. Thanks!
Pip - it’s nice seeing your patio lights.
Machka - was it fun?
My foot is hurting a fair amount today, so I didn’t do much. That’s not bad though I managed to not become debilitated with pain after my weekend last weekend and I’ve kept going most of the week. Maybe it’s starting to improve.
I have to get some stuff on my walls tomorrow. Lauryn and the kids may be out, if they are we’ll craft. If they don’t I may try to do my closet.
My cousin’s granddaughter (Brooke 32) whose parents have both passed within the last five years posted today that it was a tough day and she just wished she could call her parents. I texted her to check in and she was telling me that she had to check on one of her vendors today, he told her to contact the driver directly because he was in the city because his sister had a stroke. The sister was 36, and has 3 children at home.
Brooke said it just makes you remember that time isn’t promised. Her Mom and Dad, and Rodger and I were the same age, went to school together, married a week after one another and had kids at the same time. I kept Brooke and her two brothers while their mom worked for a couple of years.
It just seems unfair sometimes

And yes, @Snowflake1968 ... fencing was great fun! It was also more of a workout than I had thought it would be.
