Tracey, Loved your story. Smiling thinking of the overnight.. And Lisa I am with you, I wouldn't ever want to go through those young teen years again.
Lanette, WOW... exciting and like the attitude if it's meant to be, it will work out.
Machka that rash looks so angry and raw. Good luck with figuring out how to deal with it.
I don't know if my sister and I can travel to camp at the end of the month. Her gut issues are getting worse. She has been diagnosed with microscopic colitis and biopsied tissue shows her colon is harboring both kinds. If her diarrhea doesn't improve we can't travel.

Betsy hope your sister improves.
I did twenty minutes on my bike and fourteen minutes walking! Yay!
I started doing a high intensity interval in the middle of my biking. Losing my breath is scary, but also feels like an accomplishment!

M Agree with it might be rosacea. Rosecea is an autoimmune condition. I am learning more and more that many of our illnesses and the pain that goes along begins with the microbs that live in our gut. So many things throw the balance off antibiotics, pesticides, hebacides, stress...When the gut is not happy our bodies and minds suffer for it. Our bodies are smart and will shut down (illness) and give us pain and signs (rashes) until we address the underlying cause. A pill for an ill will only cover up the symptoms and will often have a side effect.
Current book I am reading is Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza. I think a better title is Getting out of your own Way so your Automatic Nervous System can help you Heal. Your body so craves that healing. It reinforces what I have learned that in order to improve healing coming at it from a calm state is the way to go. So easy to say much harder to accomplish when your body is filled with pain and suffering. His method to find this calm is meditation.
Some tools I am trying to apply are as I begin to meditate is to strengthen the first three chakras in my body. These are set in the tailbone...gut...then the stomach liver area. I like this because it is so tempting in meditation to go right to the head area and spiritual aspects. The first three are your roots your survival. Making sure they are strong gives you the life energy to accomplish your goals.
The other tool I am trying to apply is letting go of the outcome (Getting out of my way)... So often it is easy for me to get caught up in I will do X,Y,Z then what I want to happen will happen. What I am starting to find is other good things are starting to happen rather than that what I asked for...Example my sinus clearing up after at least two years of being difficult to breathe on that side of my nose...A choir member out of no where complimenting me. Her compliments are rare.
He too like some other authors I have read and many of you here remind me especially Barbie the importance of coming from a place of love and gratitude. I am finding myself saying Thank you more to the people that are helping me through all the financial pieces I have had to deal with since DH passing. It may not hurry the process in some cases but it does help me keep my perspective, my patience , and my calm. I also have shared interesting stories with those that help me.
The banker and I talked about Drive in movie theaters (so American) and the town of Hastings where we both had connections.
Annie I would love to hear a list of all the things that are going right and that you are doing for yourself that make you feel good about yourself...like working towards becoming a paramedic...solving problems with your dad so his life and your like goes more smoothly...the better choices you are making in your diet and if you slip you forgive yourself and continue where you left off. Envisioning yourself as healthy, having the energy to enjoy the day ahead of you finding love, laughter, gratitude in whatever happens in your day. As I write that reminds me that is what I wish for myself too and all who are here.

Lanette, that house sounds like a good idea. Trust the process and remember what's important (things like friendship, safety, less upkeep), and don't get caught up in the financial aspects. Money isn't the game, it's just a way to keep score. Other things are more important.
Water. there is advice all over the map. I drink a big glass in the morning when I get home from my walk, another big glass a little later in the morning, some more after lunch and keep a full glass on the counter in the kitchen to sip from during the day. Sometimes it's a treat because I'm thirsty and sometimes it's a necessary chore like housework. I discovered accidentally that I like water better at room temperature. We have a water filter on the faucet in the laundry room and keep bottles of filtered water available for drinking. Not all tap water is the same.

Today is: lots to remember!

Lanette ... what an exciting development. I am confident that you will make the best decision for you!
Tracey ... the fact that two almost-teenage boys want to spend time with you is quite an accomplishment and a testament to who you are as a person.
Easter ... I plan to take my mother to church with us in the morning and then bring her back to our house for and early dinner. I had considered a brunch, but I think I'll go with a bowl of soup when we get home around noon and then a more traditional dinner ... which, in this case, means ham/cabbage rolls/etc. I am not a fan of any of it but will make sure there are things I like as well.
Yesterday I stayed within my eating schedule. I went to bed feeling hollow (and that's much better than feeling stuffed to the gills). Today I will stay within my eating schedule and I will refrain from eating crackers...

Sue ~ You have the renter from H@#$! I feel so sorry for what you and your daughter are going through with the lady. Sounds like she has a bad mental problem.
Tracey ~ Your great grandmother was beautiful! And, the outfit she had on looked luxurious. You are a wonderful friend to your daughter's friend and son.
Lanette ~ So nice to have your close friend help you move on to a new adventure. I hope you like the house and that you will be able to get the financing.
Heather ~ Your son is so lucky to have you help with the children. I know you and your husband love them and they make your life interesting. He seems to be a great father and husband.
Machka ~ That rash looks bad. I hope you get an answer and help to get it cleared up.

Margaret my life overall is going great! I have a lot to be thankful for. I live in a nice warm house, I have money in the bank to cover my glasses and car repairs, I have time to shop and eat as I like, and more. My health is pretty good. I do tend to get laser focused on improving things, but nothing is really wrong right now. The extra hours of sunshine have been very good for my dad. My two big projects, weight loss and study for pharmacy technician, are both going very well. Maybe exercise is a third project, and that is coming along slowly. My spiritual life is fine, and I anticipate meeting some new friends in April at this tea party. So thanks for the reminder to be grateful. I worked hard and planned carefully to get to this point, and had good luck as well.
There is some change coming, as Teddy and my Dad are elderly, but being vulnerable to loss is the flip side of being blessed. So I enjoy my time for now.

John's younger daughter is coming down on Easter Sunday afternoon. She seems confident about the trains running! Actually, she is only coming from Arundel, which is justt west of here, because she will be staying with friends. She and her dad will go out walking, and come back to the house for earlyish dinner. I'm proposing slow roast shoulder of lamb, with roasted root vegetables, a green vegetable, and a Mediterranean tahini sauce.
In Britain people often have lamb at Easter, or turkey is popular. I will buy the lamb tomorrow, from our local butcher, and freeze it.
Carol - He is an amazing husband and father and works incredibly hard at his job. The consequence is that he is permanently knackered. He spends masses of time running the kids around in the car, from one activity to the other. I don't know where he got his work ethic from! I do worry about him.
I've ordered DDIL'S chocolates, small box, very posh , and John posted her card this afternoon. It's one of my 'blobby' flowery ones!
Ordered a Waitrose delivery for tomorrow morning.
Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx4 -
My problem employee called this morning and quit. I had been jumping through all the hoops to do it and she beat me to it. I feel so much better.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE11 -
Tracey - I keep forgetting to say that I think Michaela has a very definite resemblance to your great-grandmother. What a lovely picture, too.
So... made it through 28 minutes of yoga+, and then just over two hours of work outside. I just tell my Fitbit I'm doing a workout, so it captures a lot of that movement better. My average heartbeats per minute over that span (128 bpm) were higher than my average during my time doing yoga (125), so I know I'm pushing myself reasonably hard across that span.
And, while I was flitting around out there dragging the detritus from that downed tree, my scanner came in, so I've got a new toy to play with this afternoon! With my little trailer loaded this morning:
Time to jump in the shower... I smell like trees, dirt and leather gloves... 👀😀🙃

Sue-Wow. SMH. What a painful experience for you and your DD. I hope it gets better soon. I’m also sure the police know what they are dealing with when it comes to her.
Machka-That rash looks very unpleasant. I hesitate to guess what it is because rashes could be one of a million things. Hope you get it figured out soon!
Vicki-I am not sure if Congrats is the right word for the situation with your employee since you’ll likely have to pick up the slack, but now you can hopefully find a better fit for the role. You feel better, so that’s a win.
Michele-Hope you had a safe and uneventful trip back to NC.
Lisa-Smelling like trees, dirt and leather is a wonderful thing.
The wildflowers are in bloom in California, if you haven’t heard. So tomorrow we will take a drive out to the desert to look and maybe hike if the trails are not too littered with people. I have a little bit of trauma after the Sedona hiking trip and get some reasonable anxiety at the thought of going where it’s people-y.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Vicki - Congratulations and Commiserations. Wow, there does seem to be a difficulty with recruitment around your area.
Lots of love, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
Annie I don't know where I thought you were thinking of being an EMT. Being a pharmacy technician is another very needed occupation. Glad it is going well for you.2

that is great news-
We are hoping the same thing happens at mom's with the room mate but don't think it will- been there about 2 yrs now.

(((Vicki))) ~ Prayers that you will quickly find a new replacement for the problem employee. And, that you will not be responsible for having to pick up the slack.

Zumba was fun last night- thankful they had our fans back in. Really missed them Monday night. I brought my little one, just in case, but didn't need it. It was a reminder to pull out my bigger one next trip to storage.
Ended the day at 15,000+ steps.
Today I am hoping for 12,000- walked MIL's dog and getting ready to walk the wetlands in 10 min.
Rain back on Saturday.
As for water, plain water, I don't drink hardly any, tea on the other hand- I am sure I drink more than I need. I start my morning with a cup of tea and have it with me almost all the time(I dont have any drinks with me while I am walking the wetlands because there are no bathrooms during the walk and not keen on "bush wee" but have had to a few times in an emergency) I do have water in my car when I am done walking. There is a port-a-potty at the entrance of the wetlands-yuck but better than nothing. The walk takes an hour. I make sure I use the bathroom right before I leave the house. I have my tea on my desk and continue to drink it until I go to bed. Reg. tea until about 1 or 2PM then switch to decaf after that.
Keep a water bottle on the head board for during the night. Have been a bit thirsty during the nights lately.

Thankfully the hydocortisone cream has eased the rash considerably. And a stressful week has ended.

1/11 days I did good, I still have to log my food but , I stayed mindful. Long day moving boxes and more so lots of strength training, steps 12630, not so good at drinking 1/2 my weight in oz. Anybody else do that?

Please message your info to me on Sunday or Monday morning. My goal is to post it by noon every Monday - Pacific Standard time or whatever it is these days.
We have to be MFP friends in order to use their messaging system, so send me a friend request and that will get things lined up.
Unfortunately, I often don't read all posts here, but I do check the messages over the weekend, so adding information to a regular post for me to pick up won't work for inclusion in the Monday post I send out.
Please let me know if this isn't confusing enough, lol.

I drink about 3 litres a day.
Yesterday I must have been a bit short because I had a wicked calf cramp in the middle of the night last night. Had to get up and walk around. Today it is still sore.
Machka in Oz
@Machka9 I had to look up a liter in oz’s close to 100 oz is great. I understand the leg cramps my Husband gets.2 -
Ava I struggle with water most days! Actually any beverage. When I use to drink Pepsi/Mountain Dew I only drank one a day, but it took me all day. You are not alone! It is worse when I am busy.
Lanette WOW! That sounds exciting! I hope it works out as it should for you.
Machka I think April has landed in the right place with us especially with your experience with Tramatic Brain Injury. Thank you for sharing!
Once again now have to go for ultrasound even with 3d mammograms! Such a pain!
Cold this morning but feeling I have a good start to the day!

@kymarai I know, I really have to make an effort. Too busy and it goes out the window.2 -

Ava drinking half my weight in ounces? No. I aim for the old standard eight eight ounce cups. I usually record seven, but I think I hit eight and my recording is lousy.
Not much going on here. I have a couple emails to write. And of course Teddy needs a trim.
Today my book says make a list of all the ways that being overweight bothers me. I think my reasons for losing weight overlap. I already listed fitting into my clothes and being pleased with my body. I have the list in front of my stationary bike. And I have a phone reminder to review them in the afternoon when I get hungry.
I have been eating back my calories, and I'm losing a little more slowly. But slow is okay.
Okay ladies, have a marvelous day! May you be healthy, happy, safe, and free!

I need to take myself in for a 100,000km service.
A crown just fell off my tooth and my dentist has retired.
Fortunately we were looking at dental options because my husband broke a tooth a couple weeks ago.
Not sure why we have to do everything together!

Lanette, I'm excited for you, I hope it all works out!
Today's fixings lunch was a huge salad, and dinner was strawberries on toasted bagel. Both outstanding!
The salad:
Wild rice, lettuce, tomato, pickled asparagus, pickled olives, walnuts, mushrooms, bleu cheese dressing and tri colored tortilla strips.
Bagel: toasted plain bakery bagel, strawberry cream cheese, fresh strawberries in lemon, bit of sugar.

Lanette - I’ve always wondered when things like that appear if I jump in with both feet too fast or if it really is the sign I think it is. Looking back most things have worked out for me. It sure would be nice to have a smaller property, and be near your best friend. Lots to think about for sure.
Heather - sounds like an enjoyable Easter is planned.
I’ll be using that weekend mostly to prepare for my best friend’s visit. 2 weeks tonight! I’m so excited.
Lisa - I’m with you, I wouldn’t go through those years again either.
Jonah had his big school move this year and has never been happier in school, he has found like minded friends and clubs and just loves it. Maybe his positive experience will help alleviate some of Chase’s fears.
I had a headache and a dizzy spell this morning. I think it’s the weather changes again. It’s snowing again today.
Annie - I struggle with my water intake as well. I keep trying to remind myself how much better my skin looks, how I don’t ache as much and I still forget to drink it. It’s usually sitting beside me.
Betsy - I hope your sister finds some relief and you are able to travel. Our bodies sure have a way of failing us and making our emotional well being worse.
Margaret - I always love reading all of the information you share. I thought I would let you know.
Beth - It sounds like a wonderful Easter dinner at your house.
Carol - I don’t know much about my Great Grandmother, but based on the house, the clothing in pictures and the “homestead” I would say they were well off. A little tidbit, the table I am using to sort all of this was hers, so is my dresser. The desk I’m using for school was built by my great grandfather.
I’m having fun now trying to sort the genealogy!
Lisa - I hadn’t noticed that resemblance until you mentioned it. Now I can’t un-see it. You’ve had a busy day!
Vicki - I hope that’s you don’t have to pick up all of the slack that her quitting will make.
Rebecca - you make such pretty meals.
I had ceramics tonight. I’m working on a Santa’s Toy Shop. It looks like a tree house and had what should be green leaves. Being from Canada I can’t imagine a Christmas with green so decided to make it a Fall tree. Tonight I finished two of the figures that go with it. Santa and one of the elves. 5 more to go.
