I did 28 minutes with intervals on my bike and fourteen minutes walking. Yay!
I will get smoother with the timing technology with practice. But it went well! My knee is a little tight.

Hey ladies!
Today we get our teeth cleaned, being that I haven't had it done since 2009 I'm nervous. They found nothing during the exam last week. Some of my teeth had roots exposed a wee bit, I was concerned about. Dentist said I had been brushing too aggressively! So I have Sensidine toothpaste, and bought a softer brush. Circular motions and pretend my teeth porcelain china. No sawing! Tomorrow is yearly dermatologist screening. Have a stranger eye me up and down.🙄😳😂
This months goals are
-to get some projects done.
-Have some paintings framed
-read 3 books
-Not stress about the kitchen situation
-eat like a slim person
-count my blessings!

Margaret that's a lovely picture! You have a beautiful smile.

The lasagne was great. Lovely to all eat together round their table. Edie laid it, with Max 'helping'. The parents managed 84k in the morning. Lots of hills, but nothing like what they will be doing in the Pyrenees!
Came home . Cleaner was here. Had a much deserved nap.
Now chilling with John and deciding what to eat for tea/dinner. I'm not hungry yet!
My poor son will be attempting to put up a 12 ft trampoline this afternoon, which is Bea's birthday present. The old one is still decomposing in the corner.

I have been watching 911 this past week due to my not being able to do much. I have discovered that the anxiety/dizziness is being caused by a medication that was increased about 2 weeks ago. I am now detoxing from that and feel better but not quite there. Back to 911, on one episode they had an accident involving a funeral, however, they were having a ‘Living funeral.’ The person who was dying from cancer had a ‘funeral’ while still alive, to say goodbye to family while still alive. In thinking about it, this sounds like an interesting way to do it. In the end she still died from the cancer, not the accident but the funeral had already been done. Just an interesting thing to think about.

Thanks for the new page, Barbie!
We had a memorable Easter yesterday! Kinda like a comedy of errors we could just laugh at.
I forgot to turn off the robovac, "Doubtfire" , Saturday night, so it ran over all the bunny foot prints my daughter, Stevany, made for her son, Jack. Fortunately, enough was left behind that he knew the Bunny had been here.
My daughter and son, Tim, ruined my non-stick pan the night before, which left me trying to make a Spanish omelet in a stainless-steel pan... let's just call it a scramble. LOL
One of our dogs, Fergus, ate my daughter's dog's Easter bandana AND got into a dozen dyed eggs Stevany and Jack had just made and left outside to dry. By sheer luck, I had a spare dozen eggs I could toss in the Instant Pot and she had a spare "volcano" coloring kit. Jack was initially devastated, but it all worked out.
Food was good. Mimosas were great. Missed having my youngest son, Jake, and his family, and Stevany's fiance, but like I said, we won't forget this Easter anytime soon.

Rita - So glad you have found a physical, easily fixed, cause for your dizziness. I thought for ages that my hip pain was 'something I was doing wrong ' and blamed myself for not walking, standing, exercising, right etc. In the end, it's just physics and chemistry. Hope you recover soonist. Who worked it out first?
I've thought about the pre-death celebration. Don't think I will have one, but you never know. I don't think I'd have the energy!

Good morning, ladies.
Had a wonderful Easter family gathering. Have been thinking about the feeling connected question. I think I feel the most connected when my family gets together for this type of event....also Christmas, birthdays, Thanksgiving although we can be too busy with harvest at that time of year. We try to do a family bbq in the summer when son and his family are visiting. Have always felt connected to hubby from the time we met at 20/21 years of age. Got married at 21 and now just about 74 years old so 53 years married.
Rita, glad you found out what is causing your anxiety/dizziness.
Daughter went for her yearly mammogram a couple of months early. She had felt a lump when showering. Mammogram was done ....then they requested an ultrasound as felt mammogram was not clear enough. Same with the ultrasound (unclear) so sent her for ABUS test which I had never heard of. Apparently it is a test for dense breast tissue which she must have. The lump she is feeling moves when she pushes on it so hopefully it is a benign cyst. Hoping she will get test results tomorrow.

Today’s gratitude: Barbie for the fresh start, no fooling! The Chetco effect bringing clear blue skies and seas, warm sunshine and no wind… yet…
Oh what a beautiful mornin’, oh what a beautiful day, I’ve got a beautiful feelin’…
Let’s not tempt fate. Woke up to the sounds of scrabbling in the bathroom heating duct. Pulled out the grate and yup, mouse evidence. Joe unearthed the Have-a-heart traps and I’ve set ‘em while he put the radio on in the crawlspace and set the beer can alarms in the water room. Since I was up, weighed out ten pounds of glass and filled the BottleDrop bag with the cans and plastic for redemption today (what a PITA. How I miss Saturday mornings at the Berkeley recycling center where we sorted our own stuff into dumpsters for glass (separate bins for clear, brown, and blue/green/red), aluminum, tin+steel, newspaper, cardboard and mixed paper. The energy was great and you really felt like the stuff was being recycled, not just transferred and dumped.
March summary below, Fell back from February :{ Will focus more on the doing, and less on the recording ;} What I really want is not so much to weigh less but to be leaner and stronger. The plan is to huff and puff more often throughout the day.average weight 133.4, heavier than Feb 132.5Came back to this after doing wii balance games and enough PT to really tire those muscles that haven’t been used much since Mohs surgery in January and oral surgery in March. Feels kinda good ;}
Average steps 6025, fewer than Feb’s 6439
PT not even once.
Fuel better? No idea, lost track of sugar and CI<CO
Dedicated time with Joe, readings, BP, consistent line dance class, dog group, bone broth, vitamins solid.
March plan – stronger than February.
Move - PT before breakfast, average more steps than May (7778), twice weekly line dancing, daily-ish basic wii balance games, play with and walk dogs, every other daily-ish dumbbells, criss-cross with abs, hip openers, seated twist and block ab lifts.
Fuel better: dailyish vitamins and bone broth, less sugar, CI<CO.
Live NOW: dailyish time with Joe, dogs, readings. Open heart and mind before mouth.
Margaret “… with an open heart” like Barbie and “…not my job to fix…” but most of all “being present for those you love trumps …” really resonated with me. Thankful your friend’s family have learned from your son’s suffering, and that your efforts have led to improvements in police training/response. Bloom up from the mud. the smiles, yours and your co-choristers.
Welcome @Grandmapups in MI good job warming up and making a plan!
Debbie ((hugs)) your food looked very appetizing, so sorry your efforts are not appreciated. Could you put the temporary crown back on? I’d keep rinsing with warm salt water to prevent infection til the permanent crown is ready.
Tracey Brava for setting your dad straight about funerals.
Heather you model the benefits of open, clear communication of final wishes. It will be quite a party, but may that day be far off! Of all the fun paintings, Edie’s spoke most to me, not sure why. . .
Evelyn Brava for turning the awful MIL final expenses experience into good plan for when you and DH depart, and communicating it to your eldest. Do your other children know?
Machka I ached when I read your post about not talking about your feelings. For many/most of us saying how we feel is one step in processing them. Keeping them inside can be corrosive. That having been said, there is no way I mean to force you to speak your feelings or even “feel” some. We are all different pixels on the prism. ((gentle virtual hugs from outside your personal space :> ))
Kylia it must be wearing to be so empathetic. ((hugs))
Carol count on at least a year. Being an executor is a huge time and effort gift.
Annie I’m rarely truly empty belly growing hungry and often eat because my mouth wants to chew on something. Yay you, indeed!
Rebecca Sensodyne is my friend
Rita bravissima for doing that rX research. Hope it clears from your system immediately and completely.
Linda what an eventful Easter! Hope Fergus is ok?
Joy prayer said for your daughter, that results are clear and point to an easy solution.
Whoops, where does the time go? Will put the oatmeal in the fridge for tomorrow and grab a breakfast bar on the way to line dancing.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Barbara ~ It makes me happy to imagine what you see describing the forest and the ocean where you live.
Yes, it will take a long time for the BIL's estate to be probated and cost a lot of money as it is done. We must continue to pay for the upkeep of his house and property in the mean time. We paid for all the funeral expenses but know if all goes well we will be reimbursed at some point. I know that many of you have gone through the same things.

Linda what an eventful Easter! Hope Fergus is ok?
He seems to be. The bandana seems to have come out the other end along with some egg shells.
He's a 50-pound APBT mix; not a wee thing and not first time he's gotten the Grandpup's bandana. One day, Stevany will learn not bring her over with one on.

Happy April 1st!
Debbie - I would have loved to jump in the teleporter and head down your way for that delicious meal. I would have grabbed a few of us on the way and we would have cleaned it right up, nothing left for your DH even if he would have wanted anything.
Question that's none of my business, please don't feel you have to answer. Do you think there's a chance you'd ever get back together with your former husband, or do you think you're doing much better as friends? I know there are a lot of things that hold you to Napa Valley.
Rita - so so glad you discovered what was causing your spells. Can I ask how you figured it out?
Joy - sounds like a very nice Easter at your house. So nice to get the family coming together and being connected like that. Crossing fingers all OK with your daughter.
Linda - boy I'll say you had a memorable Easter at your house. Glad you had were able to save the day and Jack had Easter Bunny tracks. Cute idea. My schnauzer Rosie loves "bunny tracks". EEWWW.
Today is Rosie's 7th birthday. April Fools day - no forgetting, lol.
Spent the morning in town. Got McAfee straightened out thanks to the nice tech at Staples. I had a chance to pick his brain. This laptop is already on Windows 11, I must have upgraded when I had to start from scratch the first of the year. And he said for my purposes, Windows Defender should be just fine - no need to renew McAfee at the end of the year. I kind of thought so.
Sunny afternoon, I need to get busy.

MFP Weekly Check-in April 1, 2024
Ava – weigh in 3.29.24 - This hasn’t been the stellar week for counting calories or getting my 80 oz water daily. But I have been consistently moving. 8000+ steps, Friday weight in 160.9. A loss of .8 lbs.
Debbie in Napa Valley, CA - no walking the wetlands this week because I had Ezie(Spring break) plus the rain. Only did Zumba the two days and still not tracking and the scale shows it. The small bowl of Cheetos last night before bed sure didn't help-total salt snack. Up a pound this morning. Need to get back on track with walking/exercise and tracking my food.
Kylia in Ohio - Happy Easter! Heading for Mexican tonight (Sunday) so thought I would send stats early (also I remembered to weigh in!) I lost a pound! Trying to watch net carbs seems to be working. Have a great week!
Rita in Roswell NM- 2.2 pounds down from last week.
Lanette in SW WA State – Celebrating weight staying in range, foot slowly getting better. Navigating ways to get better blood sugar control and increase resistance training.

Spent a big chunk of Friday in ER. Got up and could barely move, dizzy and out of breath. Could not get out to feed animals so called neighbor. She came over and I called DD at work, then 911. They came out and diagnosed A-fib. BP and oxygen sats OK but pulse rate in 140s to150s. They took me by ambulance to hospital. Brought on by anxiety and stress caused by Toxic Tenant. Now on medications and will see cardio in 2 weeks. I was feeling better today until I got a text from her with more threats this morning. We have a private detective working on it and found out she has apparently pulled this same thing several times in the past.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA14 -
Sue - I'm so sorry! It's been four years now since that diagnosis for me, and it really is just a horrible feeling. Hopefully it's the intermittent type, and they can get your heart rate converted correctly with a single shock. Mine's the permanent 24-7, and with the medications at the right dose, I honestly don't even notice it. That woman is a menace!
Take care,
Thinking about you,
Lisa in AR4 -
Sue that's terrible! Hope you are feeling better.
Rita glad you figured out the medicine.
I took my Dad to the primary care doctor today, and they prescribed physical therapy. So we will have many appointments to attend. He is lurching around the house. Much better at putting weight on his hip, but still a long ways to go. I told him most injured twenty somethings get physical therapy, and most injured eighty somethings go to the hospital. So he is really lucky.
This will delay my pharmacy technician adventure. Oh well. When I think about it I feel the need to eat. But I had enough calories and I'm not going to go over.

Sue in WA: I so understand about at ‘Toxic Tenant’. Went through that a couple of years ago; the tenant was my daughter. Got so bad, my son and I bought a house together and WE moved out. I will say, she has grown a lot in the past couple of years and our relationship has healed, but going through that is nothing I would ever want to do again.

Machka: Your sense of colour is wonderful.
Heather: There is great power and lively movement in Edie’s art work for her age. I love the freedom of expression that is displayed in these pieces. The enjoyment of all of you shines through the work. I applaud your fortitude and determination to enjoy life despite your current pain.
This morning I spent some time declutterring my standby wardrobe so that I could hang up my current jackets. Hots of items for goodwill. Had an active rest day today as I was feeling tired after clocks changing yesterday. I dozed off late afternoon and DH made dinner for us.
I had quite a good March and am looking forward to more of the same in April, stayed in the middle of my maintenance range and worked on heart health by doing more strenuous workouts in short bursts. Managed 1299 Fitbit zone minutes for March, and lowered my average resting heart rate several points. April focus will be improving sleep schedule. Starting tonight I will be switching off my devices At 11:15 pm.
Sue: It's terrible that your tenant is affecting your health (((hugs))) shape you can get her out soon.

cityjaneLondon wrote: »Margaret and Tracry - I don't mean there shouldn't be a celebration of my life! I should be most offended if I thought people weren't getting together to have a nice dinner and play my music (I have a list, including "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think") show photos, read a bit of my books, and talk about me! I just don't think my dead body needs to be there. I do not appreciate the exorbitant fees that funeral companies charge for a car and coffin etc. I would prefer that money to be spent on a party for those that want to get together and celebrate me. All my family and friends know my wishes and that's fine with them.
I think these things are very different when it's a younger person who has died, or there are tragic circumstances. Sudden, unexpected, painful, or unresolved deaths are hard. I am old, my life is fulfilled. My thoughts will live on in my books.
I am a signed-up humanist and a campaigner for assisted dying. I hope for a good death, but I know that is not wholly within my control. I would like to go at a time of my own choosing, when I have lived enough, and had enough. I have written an advanced directive that, if I have dementia, or an incurable illness, my life is not to be prolonged by medical treatment. Everyone knows my views.
I know some people will be sad, but I urge them not to be. John will be devastated, I know that, but I hope he will hear my voice in his ears, urging him on to enjoy what's left of his life.
I still have books to write, I am determined to make the most of the time I have left, but I firmly believe that death is part of life. I mourn every death before its time. I am appalled by war and killing. But I hope my death will be accompanied by a celebration of my life and people will wear bright colours and laugh a lot. And eat a lot. My next book will tell of how wonderful I find the miracle of my life. Every single life is precious and unique. We should make the most of it. The worst thing is to have regrets for things you didn't do. Life is not a dress-rehearsal.
And after that, I have to get up soon to get ready for our babysitting session. I did not get a good night's sleep. Or much sleep at all. But I can sleep this afternoon. I am very happy to be spending time with the grandchildren.

Your comments made me think of dh's aunt-
She didn't want any service- dh and I would be the only one there unless we flew to Hawaii and then her step granddaughter and her family would join us.
She always said, she wanted to "go to bed and wake up dead".
Took me a bit to figure it out but what she wanted was to just die in her sleep, not knowing it happened. No pain, nothing, just be gone.
She almost got that. She had a massive stroke while eating dinner and never fully woke up. She passed away a week later. I talked to her and she would squeeze my hand and a few tears ran down her cheek but that was it. She was 97yrs old and still was so sharp. She outlived both brothers and both her kids.
At over 95 yrs old, she still enjoyed our Sundays when we took her out to lunch. She always ordered the same thing. Prime rib, medium rare, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies(it came with a salad but she didn't like salads so I got hers because I love salad). A glass of white zinfindale and a piece of cream pie.
The only thing that changed was the type of cream pie she picked, depending on what they had. She was a fiesty one and did do some shady things to dh's parents/family but I never had any problems with her at all. Her and I felt the same way about dh's mom so that was good.

Rita-that is good news you were able to figure out the cause. Medications have lots of side effects (and some that aren't listed).
Kylia-glad you got out. Rain is supposed to start here tonight. According to our EMA memo we got-tomorrow around 3 pm it may turn very nasty-go home early! Channel 7 has same story.
Tracey-differing work schedules can cause relationship issues.
Debbie-sorry MIL struck again. However, it sounds like you cooked food you like (and son) so you have leftovers and don't have to bother with cooking. In terms of your DH-it is tougher getting out of some of the parental relationships than we may think. I believe it is harder for sons with their mother, but I could be wrong. I have found a lot of people at church dinners are reluctant to try anything new.
Machka-I had a very close work colleague who was not a toucher. When I was in the line at my mother's funeral she came up to me-many people were giving me hugs. She stood back a foot or so and looked at me-I nodded because I knew she could not hug-but the compassion and look in her eyes conveyed more support than any jug.
Heather-once again successful family art!
Carol-depending upon how BIL had things set up it may not be too hateful-let's hope attorney gave him good advice.
Lisa-fitbit does indeed say you are busy!
Margaret-great picture with your choir members.
Linda-it does sound like a true comedy of errors-it is good everyone could laugh!
Joy-prayers your daughter gets good news!
Lanette-glad you are comfortable with computer resolution.
Sue-that really stinks that toxic tenant has impacted you this much. Hope you can get her out soon.
Annie-I am happy they got your dad into PT. See it they let you in to observe-that way you know the proper exercises he will need to do at home. I am sure they will emphasize flexibility and balance-you may find them helpful also.
Terri-I admire your consistency and discipline.
Pip- don't know if I would have walked to gym or not, but I guess when weather is really bad and I walk inside the ouse for 30-45 minutes that is an alternative plan.
Busy day, got stuff done, more left to do. Need to get trash together for tomorrow. Don't think I will put big can to curb in case the storms over night are strong. Going to put together a "go" bag to have ready if have to hit basement tonight or tomorrow night.
Take care all,
