Hey guys, Charlene here. Anniversary day! 📢🥰🥳👫
Tonight we're going to a Scooby Doo[m] murder mystery dinner theater at a local winery. Allen is dressing as Shaggy and I'm Velma. 😀 It'll be a blast.
Height: 5'8"
April 30th: 182.3
Today: 183.9
Yesterday I didn't get enough water, plus going to bed late the night before, plus a late snack of apple and peanut butter before bed, so the increase isn't a surprise.
Today I'll try to push the water; and since we're eating out, I'll have to be careful about gluten/lactose. Our son ordered a gluten free meal for me at the winery, but sometimes people don't really check labels on things like seasoning and salad dressing, etc.2 -

Happy May everyone! 🦋 I’m Kat and I live in rural NV with my boyfriend and 5 cats. I’ve been on a slow weight loss/fitness journey since February. This month’s challenges will be heavy workload and stress at work and renovations and other projects around the house with 10 days off at the end of the month to focus completely on renovations. My main goal this month is to not burn myself out with so much going on! Mostly healthy meals, exercising when I have energy, and a healthy focus on emotional/mental health.

5/05: 112.8 This cold snowy day is making me want to curl up and hibernate! I'm so ready for consistent warmer weather and spending time outside again!2 -

Just getting home now around 10 PM. I’ll probably skip weighing tomorrow after so much food and sitting today but I’ll be back at it on Monday at regular wake-up time. It was a lovely day filled with pride!
05/05-DNW-(Trend Weight DNW)- The college graduation ceremony for my oldest daughter Bethany (almost 41 yrs old) was so inspiring. Afterward we had a dinner at her favorite Mexican restaurant in the college town. On the way home I stopped at a casino we passed by to let my (autistic) son have that experience. He really loved it and even though we both lost money during the 5 hours there he did better than me and lost less. Here are a few pics so you know who we are when I talk about my family.

Beth age 41 next month. 1st degree in early education.
My three natural born children (my step-son couldn't make it) Graduate Beth 41, Foodie Brittany (who can eat anything she wants, never gain, and had an impulse to over feed everyone), age 29 until November, and my autistic son Johnny age 27 until July.
Johnny winning over $32.00 in pennies at the casino. He was amazed!
Me with the graduate.

🌸MAY DAILY WEIGH IN🌸
SW for May - 305.4
GW for May - 299.0
May 1: 305.4 No water aerobics class today, as I was needed to watch my youngest grandchild (a 3 month old girl ) while my son and his fiancé took care of some phone calls with the insurance company. They were rear ended by a pickup truck yesterday, (the whole rear of their car was smashed in) and thank God they came through it with only whiplash. The baby came out without a scratch, even though the back seat and her car seat were shoved all the way into the back of the front seat. They were very, very fortunate. My husband took us out to eat afterwards to a new-to-us restaurant. The food was really good, and while I ate mostly healthy and stayed under my calories for the day, I did indulge in some breaded and fried zucchini. So we'll see what that's going to cost me, when I weigh myself tomorrow.

Each Month I write a reflection on how the month went. Here's My April Reflection if anyone wants to read:
April 2024 Reflection
April was basically a frustrating weight loss month; lost 1.2 pounds. Didn’t reach my stretch or regular weight loss goal. At least it wasn’t a gain. Started off the month with indulging on Easter, then took an overnight trip to see the Eclipse and was also off plan. Then mid-month realized I had a problem with my bathroom scale – apparently, I have been underestimating my weight for a while – new scale new weight and it wasn’t pretty. Worked hard the last couple weeks, and at least I got down to below my starting weight – which who knows if that was correct. For May – my goal is to get into the 140s come hell or high water.
I have been successful with the exercise, averaging well over my 17K goal, and tracked a little over 250 miles again in April; year to date a little over 1,000; almost have way there. I am also on track for intentional miles with a little over 750 miles to date.
I have been keeping on plan with my cardio and strength routines. I alternate one day of cardio and then one day of strength. Although I do not like them much, I add one stretch type routine weekly. I have been having some trouble with some pain in my knees – so found a stretching knee exercise that I began adding daily at the end of the month. I have an appointment with the Doctor May 1 to see what she says. Hopefully, I can continue to walk and won’t have to take a break.
I started re-reading the first book of the Harry Potter series, along with my Hogwarts Challenge. I finished “The Masked City” and am on the third book of the Invisible Library Series – “The Burning Page”.
The next round of The Biggest Loser starts May 1. We have a full team, and I spent a lot of time in-between rounds getting ready. Looking forward to the start. The Hogwarts Challenge started; always a fun one. I rejoined Fat2Fit - I can do it.- My May Goals:
- Get into the 140 range!
- Log 150 intentional miles; and 250 in overall miles
- Alternate days of Cardio and Strength Training
- Stretch 3 days per week
- Average 17K steps per day
- Read almost every day
Here is my before and after picture for April. Not much different than last month but found a new before picture and took an after at the same spot.

May 1: 151.2 👣 📝 🥗🫀 🧘♀️ 💦🧂📖🎮ME! A good day for me yesterday; got it all done and had some Me time. I love a new month - a fresh start; and so glad to be back.
May 2: 150.6 👣 📝 🥗💪 🧘♀️ 💦🧂 🎮 ME! A nice swish - hope it stays off. Still working towards that old scale number (had to replace the old scale mid-April and the new scale was ugly and not nice). As much as I hate to say it, the new scale was right. Went to the doctor yesterday and the numbers matched to the decimal. Nice day yesterday - moved bingo night with the family to Wednesday this week. Noone won, but it is always fun.
May 3: 152.2 👣 📝🥗 🧘♀️ 🫀💦📖 🎮 I should keep my mouth quiet when I have big downside - it always bites me in the butt. Busy day yesterday. Got our morning walk done, then worked in the garden most of the day. Spread the rest of the soil and turned it in. Got the carrots, potatoes, and parsnips planted. Cleaned up the screened porch which was filled with garden stuff. Exhausted, so of course binged a little - but with all the exercise today came just under my calorie limit - with binging of course went over the sodium limit.
May 4: 151.6 👣 📝 🥗💪 💦🧂 🎮 Another busy day in the garden, also busy with a relay race in another challenge that I am in - kept me busy all day.
May 5: 151.6 👣 📝 🥗💪 🫀💦🎮 What I expected (or a gain). Relay race for the Hogwarts challenge and the garden (finished) kept me so busy yesterday when dinnertime came I said I'm too exhausted to cook - we got subway, which has so much sodium, then I had pretzels, and cookies - ate all my exercise calories. Had two calories left for the day! I did take a beautiful walk in the morning yesterday along the Connecticut River and got this shot with the sun reflecting in the water - and they put the docks in, guess that means it's time to get the boat ready!
May 6: 150.2 😁 📝 🥗💪 🧘♀️ 💦 🧂📖 🎮 or ME! First smile in a while! I don't give them until I am under my last recorded low weight. Finally got under the old scale weight. Rested a little yesterday, didn't reach my step goal - but way over my 17K average goal. Tonight is bingo night with Mom- going to resist the junk!

Thank you for the happy anniversary wishes! It doesn't feel like 40 years at all. Don't get me wrong, it isn't like we haven't had any disagreement or near breakups because there were times I thought we were done; but I'm so very grateful we didn't quit. Wherever he is, that's where I want to be. ❤️ The thing I love most about Allen is his sense of humor. He makes me laugh, every single day. And he'd eat mud pies if I asked him to. (IYKYK)
So yesterday was a mixed bag. Of course we're always grateful that the country of Mexico celebrates our anniversary (wink wink). We thought we'd see if one of our favorite Mexican restaurants could get us in for lunch - nah, the line was out the door. We kinda expected that. So we went to our other favorite, the Chinese buffet! Their sushi isn't half bad at all; and I always bring little gluten free soy sauce packets with me, because they don't have a gf option. It works!
So, the dinner theater at the winery...
The scenery was gorgeous. We arrived early and sat on a bench in the gazebo and watched the fish jump in the pond. It was a perfect weather day, and we sat and talked and laughed. Loved that part.
The dinner and the show were just awful. They did not provide a gluten free dinner even though our son made a point to request it for me. The dinner was buffet style, and they used paper plates! At a winery, omg, paper plates. They advertise the food as coming from a catering company, but not one I'd ever recommend. Overcooked fried chicken and prepackaged lasagna were the main entree options. So I ended up eating plain green beans that were obviously canned, and dry salad, since I didn't know if there was wheat in the two dressing options, ranch or french. Some brands contain wheat as a thickener. And dessert was cake, which obviously I can't eat. 🤦
The show was a joke. The "cast" was two people who played multiple characters with costume changes: a young woman probably in her late 20s, and an older man probably in his mid 70s. Neither of them had good timing with their lines and likely wouldn't get lead parts in a local theater troupe. So after we saw how bad the food was and how bad the "cast" was, we left.
We stopped at the grocery store for some celebratory ice cream (low carb for him, dairy free and gluten free for me) and we went home.
We did take a photo of our costumes, so here's us as Shaggy and Velma.

SW: 122.6
UGW: TBD, ~105ish depending on muscle
5/01: 113.8

5/03: 113.0
5/04: 112.6
5/05: 112.8 This cold snowy day is making me want to curl up and hibernate! I'm so ready for consistent warmer weather and spending time outside again!
5/06: 111.8 Things are going fairly well. I've started researching adding more protein into my diet as I get closer to my goal. I've always struggled finding protein-rich foods I like enough to eat every day, but I've already been hitting around 50 grams with the changes I've made so far. I think 80 grams is recommended so I'll have to play around and see where I can sneak in some more!3 -
Hey everyone!!! New to this group. I’m 47 years old. I started my journey in July 2023. I had a tough start. I joined an awesome gym in November of 2023. Well on my way to my goals!
