@chris_in_cal I've never heard of any of those bands, but their names are interesting. Enjoy! Glad the shoes felt good again.
I'm glad you had such a nice run @martaindale .
@Teresa502 Great running and planning that trip sounds trying, but I'm sure you will all enjoy it once you get there. It sounds like fun. Good job sticking it out today when you were struggling.
Great running and gardening @ContraryMaryMary . I'm with you in adding flat miles instead of hilly ones. I'm glad you are getting back on track with your running.
Glad you got out for a run @mari333a . Those soles don't look too bad. Love the new shoes.
Nice running @Laurz9191 . Sounds like you're enjoying your training plan.
Oh no @daria0919 . I hope rest and ice is all it needs and it feels better soon.
Great running @henridw2095 . Love the shoe porn. I hope they work out for you.

13.00/80.0 mile goal
I didn't post yesterday. I did go to the gym and then did a treadmill wun. Afterwards, mom and I started trimming more trees along the driveway. My first order of business was to fall into the bed of the Gator and hurt three of my fingers. One of them went into a small hole on the side of the bed that is used for hooking tie downs. I'm lucky they didn't break...or at least I don't think they did. We went ahead and did one load of limbs, once my hand calmed down a bit. A storm was pending, so we quit.
This morning, one of my fingers is back to normal, but the other two are really swollen. They don't hurt. It just makes it hard to grip and make a fist. Because of that, when I went to the gym today, I did legs and core only. It was a pretty hard workout. So, when I got home, I just walked 2 miles on the treadmill to keep from overdoing the legs.
I have iced my hand some and will do so again in a bit. They feel better than they did, so hoping for improvement again tomorrow. It could have been so much worse than it was.7 -
June Goal: 215 Miles
6/2: 11.02 miles
6/3: 3.15 miles
6/4: 6.26 miles
6/5: 1.10 miles
6/6: 6.27 miles
27.8/125 miles completed for June
I almost missed Global Running Day. I decided to take today as my rest day. I needed to go by and have some blood work done and didn't want to run before having my coffee so I just did yoga this morning. Then this evening I was looking at Facebook and realized it was Global Running Day. So even though I was about to start getting ready for bed I got out and ran 1 mile. It wasn't a bad run, just short. It was hot and it was dark. I do prefer running in the morning. "Dusk" dark feels different to me than "pre-dawn" dark.
I guess I never posted this yesterday. I guess I will add today's post here:
I had a great run this morning. It was 72°F, dew point 64° and 74% humidity and 7 mph winds. It was so much more pleasant than the last few days. I ran 6.25 miles and felt like I could run forever.
@daria0919 I hope the knee isn't serious.
@quilteryoyo I hope your fingers heal quickly.
@henridw2095 Nice shoes!
@chris_in_cal Sounds like a fun music festival.

Neighborhood 1Mile (at 12"57 pace). Day 37
I am wanting to try and get some longer run in while I'm traveling this weekend. It nearly never happens, but we'll see.

Morning everyone!

@Laurz9191 hahaha. Best way to get over a hangover. Sweat those beers out of your pores!
@Teresa502 haha. No never been on a group chat with 5 other women! Lol @ clothes and outfits.
Sounds like a blast though!!
@quilteryoyo love the pics!
@chris_in_cal weekend festival sounds cool. Enjoy!!! 🍺6 -
Good morning everyone!
12km today for my hill repeat run. I did 10 75sec. repeats. It went well even though it was hard. The weather was perfect for running. Also, the slug count has gone down, so I don’t have to watch my step quite as much.
As for the fuelling question. I usually only fuel my long runs with water and either a Maurten or Gu gel for anything 10miles/16km or longer. If the weather were to be hotter I probably would take water on anything over 10k, just so the run would be more comfortable and I wouldn’t be as dehydrated after.
53.1km/200km for June.6 -

Again I am way behind on reading the posts. I hope everyone is having a great day.

Got another run in this afternoon. The last 1.5 miles was directly into the wind which was very strong and made it tough. Dakota ran behind me the whole time for shelter and he’s supposed to be a snow dog😂
@AlphaHowls My running name is Marathon McNumbnuts though I think Sweaty Dripynose would be more accurate 😅5 -
Oh my gosh @AlphaHowls ! How did it know - I'm Sweaty Runwalker, which, as you know, I really am! I love yours too!
Great running in the wind @Mari33a . Dakota sounds pretty smart to me. LOL I like "both" of your running names.5 -

16.00/80.0 mile goal
I did a driveway wun. Following my plan, I walked half a mile for warm up and then did a run/walk of 1/1 min x 12, then walked 0.75 miles for cool down. The "run" was slow for my effort. Avg pace was 13:51 min/mile. Avg HR for the entire 3 miles was 132 with a max of 154 bpm.
This afternoon, mom, William (neighbor) and I mowed mom's lawn. I push mowed for about 22 min. Mom had push mowed for almost an hour. I really don't know how she does it at 88 yo.4 -
Today, I ran/walked 1.8 miles. Total: 7.1/40. Trying to understand the drill workout on my Garmin training program. It’s not really clear on what I should be doing. Going to have to do some research. 🧐4
-
You did great @steviebee888 . I haven't used a Garmin training plan yet. If you can't figure out what it is wanting you to do, just ask here. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.3
-
@quilteryoyo Thank you. ☺️ Currently, I’ve just been doing my normal run/walk until I clearly understand that drill workout1
-
@henridw2095 ♥️new shoes!! I use the machs as well and really like them. Enough cushion for longer runs but springy for workouts and racing.3

I went to Pilates again yesterday and am pretty sore. I decided to take it easy this morning. Between the soreness and summer, I knew if I pushed too hard I would pay for it later. I did the 4/1 intervals and made sure to bring my salt tabs. Then after work I got a massage. First one in a while and it was so nice!5 -
on the road 1Mile Day 39. I did it.10

Morning all.
Up early for a Saturday.
I was sleeping great... Then wife woke me up. Youngest is sick. Has a fever. As he can't swallow tablets yet... And we're out of kid ibuprofen liquid etc. So I was off to Tesco to get meds before 6am. By this time. Fully up... So may as well start day etc etc
Anyways. Got in 5.25M (at 09"55).
Nap after lunch! For sure.
7 -
@martaindale You did great to get out and run when you are that sore. WTG!
Yeah @chris_in_cal ! I knew you could. Keep it up.
@tarun_yadavA Oh no. I hope your son feels better soon and no one else in the family gets sick. Good job taking advantage of the situation and getting your run in early.3 -
@tarun_yadavA I hope your son is feeling better.
I shall also take a nap this afternoon as an act of solidarity.
Ran at the lake this morning. I saw my friend P and we had a good visit. We are running a 5K next Saturday to commemorate Fathers' Day.

I didn't post yesterday, but I did get out and run 6.5 miles. It was another pretty pleasant morning. 75°F, dew point 66°, humidity 73% and 8 mph winds. It wasn't perfect running weather, but that's about as good as it will be in Texas in June. I'm taking today as my rest day and tomorrow I will try to get out early for my long run.

On the road 1Mile (at 13"20 pace). Day 40
Feels good.
An acquaintance went into hospice a week ago. We were considering rallying out to Phoenix after the show. He passed yesterday. Life is sweet and too short. Have a great weekend everyone.

I got out at 5:45 this morning and ran 8 miles. Wore my new Asics and they felt pretty good. The temp was only 51F so it was a perfect June morning. I love hearing all the birds chirping at this time of morning and watching the sky turn from dawn to daylight.
@daria0919 - I hope your knee is back to normal and @quilteryoyo - glad the injury to your hand wasn't worse. Hopefully your fingers are also getting back to normal.
@tarun_yadavA - Glad you were able to get meds early; hopefully your youngest will be fully recovered soon.
Sorry about the loss of your friend @chris_in_cal.3 -
Sounds like a nice run this morning @emptydog . I hope you enjoy your 5K this weekend.
I really like that picture too @AlphaHowls ! Great running.
You did great getting the run in @chris_in_cal . So sorry to hear about your friend.
Great run this morning @Teresa502 . The weather was pretty perfect this morning. Thanks for the good wishes on my fingers. They are still a little swollen, but they continue to be better every day. They should be back to normal soon.2 -

20.10/80.0 mile goal
I really wanted to do a longer wun this morning, but I struggled mentally to get out the door. The wun was a struggle. My legs were a bit stiff, but it was just my mind being lazy that was the bigger issue. I did force myself to keep going and was happy to get in a slow 4.10 miles. Avg pace was 15:02 min/mile. Avg HR was 121 with a max of 140 bpm.
This afternoon, mom came up and helped me trim more of the limbs along the driveway. We got a lot done, but still a long way to go. Before and after pictures under the spoiler.
Before we started today.
Another angle of before.
After we quit for the day.
Another angle of after.7 -
Today, I ran/walked 2.9 treadmill miles. Total: 9/40. Turned off my watch by accident. Ugh 😩 Tomorrow, 5-mile training run/walk.6
