I almost got a glass of wine at dinner. I walked today, so it would have been within my goals to have one. However, I opted out.
I start my new job tomorrow. Lots of orientation and training. I’m thankful God provided the opportunity because our family needs the income, but I’m very upset I have to go back to work.
Thanks @forestdweller1 for the support.6 -

I’m sorry you’re stressed. I can empathize.
I sent my husband to the store tonight because I forgot to buy milk yesterday and knew if I went I would buy a bottle of wine.
I hope it gets better for you.

Thank you, Nonnie
Correction. I went to my grandbabies’ dance recital and drove straight home without buying wine. I’m sipping my sparkling water. Yay, me!!

Quick check in - survived a mini heat wave here with lots of sparkling waters in my ball jar with lemon slices. Getting ready for our road trip to the PNW that starts on Saturday! Planning for a Stella NA tonight.

Thanks @SparkSpringtime69. It’s been VERY difficult to stop myself from running to the store every night this month. I’ve been doing just about everything I can think of trying to avoid drinking and over eating. I’m coloring, knitting, trying to teach myself how to crochet (getting unbelievably frustrated with it… just not coming naturally to me), reading, scrapbooking, and I’m considering picking up my cross stitching again. But, I’m not drinking or snacking.

I have had a poor start but I will try harder my sons best friend died yesterday and since 1st June we have been rushing back and forwards to the hospital, the stress has been hard to deal particularly with my husbands cancer so now I need to pull myself together and stop.

This trend is not going well. This week was frustrating on many counts. Should not use wine to relieve the frustrations....lesson hard learned.

@Michieb125 ~ Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome.
@NonnieDoiron ~ Sorry you will be experiencing so many stressful things this month. Remember to take time out for you to recharge. Kudos on your progress thus far!
@annliz23 ~ sorry for what's going on in your life right now.🙏🏽🙏🏽

@annliz23 such a hard time for your family right now. Take care of yourself as best as a possible and I hope you will give yourself some grace through it.
@itladyee always love your candidness!
I’m struggling a bit because I’m in vacay mode now! We’ll be in our nice travel trailer for over a week traveling around the PNW and I always pack plenty of both non-alcoholic choices and some wine. But LA is much easier for me when I am home and have my daily routine!3 -

@NonnieDoiron I get the store thing - I went in on Thursday to get a bottle, changed my mind and left without. But last night I apparently didn't have the same mindset and brought home a bottle. Good for you for going 6 days straight, it's inspiring.
@annliz23 I'm sorry to hear about your husband and your son's friend. Sending hugs and good thoughts to you.
@itladyee It seems a lot of us turn to the A in times of stress. I've been trying to think of other things to do instead. I like @NonnieDoiron 's needlework and reading hacks, good to keep the hands busy I think.
@Michieb125 and @chicbuc, vacays and social gatherings seem to be the other things besides stress that are often drivers for drinking. Not quite sure how to get through those.4 -

No wine last night, yippee... I had not stayed the course during the week so it only made sense.
@Michieb125 ~ Thanks, just keeping it real!🙂 I think you deserve a break during vacay mode, but this forum has still taught us to be mindful, even during vacation. Enjoy!
@chicbuc ~ social without the wine is a real challenge for me as well. I'm an introvert, so a social event without alcohol can be really uncomfortable.
@sparkSpringtime69 ~ I did think of wine last night. It helped that my husband was not having a cocktail. I was a bit bored but downloaded a book and started to read.
Enjoy your weekend LA Friends.5 -

Thanks for all the support from this group! Please know I’m reading all the posts. There’s so much going on here, but I think each of us coming in and holding ourselves accountable (even if we do drink) is truly wonderful. For all of us stressing and dealing with life’s ups and downs, please know you’re in my prayers.
The sangria from last night had me up at 3am to pee then I couldn’t get back to sleep. I was going to go for a walk today since I didn’t yesterday and had a drink against my goal, but I was so tired. But, I did go grocery shopping and clean my oven today… so there’s that🤷🏻♀️
Nothing to drink tonight, waiting for my youngest daughter to get home from a day out with friends. Thinking I want to find a puzzle book…🤔5 -

I’m so sorry to hear you and your loved ones are going through it all! Hugs!1 -
Hi all, back at it for June. Started out rough- one of my husband’s close friend just died, and being emotional all week I limited to two glasses, but didn’t even try low alcohol wine or to just not drink.
So, my review so far on the Cupcake low alcohol wine: I didn’t love the low alcohol Rose. It will do in a pinch, but I don’t think I’d buy it again. Now on to their Chardonnay…. I don’t normally love Chardonnay to begin with, so not loving this one either. So far I like the Pinot Grigio the best, but haven’t opened the Sauvignon blanc yet. . The search continues!4 -
OK I am not hitting my goals so I am going to hold myself accountable here. It is June 9, 2024.
AF - 4
A - 4 (4.5% High Noon seltzer with tequila and lime)
Today is Sunday so I will focus on a restart of 0 A Su - Fr
I am playing golf this morning. Getting to the gym has been a bit challenging because my 7 yo Duck Toller had a mast cell tumor removed from her L thigh and I just want to stay close to her. She is now post op day 5 and I feel like I can leave her for 1-2 hours with her cone around her head.
I think I said on another post that my BF is a daily drinker and it is hard to not join him (habit; not desire to drink). I asked him if he would take a break (he needs to lose ~ 20 lbs) but he is unwilling. But I can't hold him responsible for the fact that I go into the kitchen to open a hard seltzer and join him on the patio. That is ALL on me.
In an effort to have fewer calories I switched from high ABV beer to low ABV seltzer drinks. They are a decent substitute but I actually would like to be AF as much as possible.
They say willpower is a "muscle" so I am trying to make that stronger, haha.
Thanks everyone...have a great Sunday.5 -

I'm trying to be kind to myself but I'm really pissed off at myself for drinking the last two days
So I'm planning to take this week to try to reset physically and mentally.
