So great that you found a sweet guy, and I'm sure he feels the same about you. The kids look very healthy and their frozen treats look delicious. What's in them? Hope no more blisters from your new shoes.
Flea - what a nice trip to the mountains, so happy to hear you went and had a good time. Love that you were high enough in elevation and above the tree line to see the Three Sisters and other high mountains in our beautiful part of the country.
Carol - your grands are growing so fast. Hope your granddaughter's leg is healing well and she'll be rid of the boot soon.
Tracey- those boys did a great job hauling dirt. Please send them down my way.I wish I had a couple grandkids who wanted to earn spending money, I'd put them to work. $10 per hour is a bargain.
Sue - Hope your sister finds help, she's in a tough spot for sure. Glad DD was able to attend the memorial.
Kelly - so glad the little one with a seizure is OK. What a scary thing to happen, you and your son handled it well. Glad Lake Michigan helped with the hot weather. We normally get goldfinches around here for a few weeks, I wonder if later this summer they'll arrive when the dandelions get in full swing.
What a pain in the back!I've had low back pain for the past couple months on the right side, often making it hard to bend over and pick up things from the floor. I've had it on and off all my life and I know tight hamstrings and too much sitting make it worse, plus lifting bags and buckets full of whatnot. When DH was still here I'd lie on the floor on my stomach and have him press on my lower back near my tailbone and get that SI joint back where it should be. Learned this in PT.
I went on YouTube and searched "SI Joint" - found a useful channel called "Core Balance Training." This Physical Therapist has a lot of videos, and has a different strategy than Bob & Brad. I can attest that doing bridging with a belt around the thighs above the knees, then icing for a few minutes really helps. If interested, here's one of his videos explaining about the SI joint pain, with a focus on the bridging in the last half. 10 minute video.
** Reminder to get Weekly Check-in info to me today or by tomorrow noon **
Make it a super day.

Equal parts on plain yogurt (Greek) and peanut butter, some raw honey, oatmeal and almond milk to make it more creamy, you can blend it with hand blender or stir first then add the oatmeal ti keep it chunky.
Actually RVRita, I got two soul mates, the first one died, I just got very lucky to get another one 🥰4 -
KJ - Had to go back and find your post, totally missed it. You are just the baby whisperer, woman! So glad you were there for that baby, and that he's OK. And that you're OK. That's so scary.
Corey and I have finally arrived at the plan we're both happy for in renovating the back of the house. We've always wanted to turn the two bedrooms and a miniscule half bath into a master suite with a full bath, and an extra long tub for Corey. Here's the overall plan:. We want to do this during the summer while it's too hot to do the outside work. We'll see what happens, but it's nice to finally settle on something!
Later,
Love,
Lisa

That looks great Lisa.
Carol - Loving those teenagers!
KJ - Wow! A scary moment! I'm not surprised you couldn't sleep !
Happy Anniversary Pip!
I tested negative again this morning, but my friends want to err on the safe side and keep their distance. They have gone by themselves to The Regency tonight. Tomorrow I could meet them at an outside table at Fatto a Mano. Funnily enough, I feel a bit 'off' this evening.
I went for my first walk by myself this afternoon. John was very worried about me and made me promise not to cross any main roads. I got as far as the bus stop into town. On the way back I called in at the deli, and bought my first food items in a month. Every day a bit of progress.
Then I slept for over an hour! I still get tired very easily.
P had to drive here because all her trains were cancelled. Very put out. G's train was OK. B got down OK from Scotland. She was up for meeting, but I think the others take priority. I may be able to see her alone on Tuesday when the others have left as her flight is in the early evening.
Hope I feel OK tomorrow.

Did Balance Ball Lower Body DVD today then walked to Food Lion to get Vince bananas.
Debbie – no, the pegboard doesn’t have holes. That looks like one of the scratching posts we have only ours doesn’t have the mouse hanging from it. One set (Barney and Fred) are probably about 1-1/2 months old and the other set (Chewy and Yoda) are a few weeks older. I swear, when they play, you would think you were at a World Wrestling Federation match! But I know that they are just learning. How in the world do you get your kittens to sit/lay for a few seconds so you can take their pic? Ours are CONSTANTLY on the move….lol
Made my gazpacho the other day and got the pork tenderloin in the marinade (Vince’ll grill it tonight). Made chocolate bran muffins today
Yea! The plants I transplanted haven’t died YET. Now that’s something!
Tina – so sorry about your “baggage” home. I wholehartedly vote for milking it! Unfortunately, I think COVID is ALWAYS going to be around
Allie – good for you booking that cruise! You deserve it!
Carol – did your son get the dogs? Love the pics of your grands
Rita – last I heard, a childhood friend of mine lived in Ruidoso. Not sure if she still does or not. How very sad
Tuesday I’m supposed to take my car in for the “fix” for the recall. To me, it’s just a band-aid fix. But at least I’ll be able to park my car in the garage. I haven’t since Sept. Hope I remember HOW to park in a garage….lol
Happy Birthday Corey! Can you send me some of that cheesecake? Pretty Please! See, the only time I ever get it is when we go out to eat (which isn’t often) since Vince doesn’t like it and there’s no way I can eat a whole cake. Well, I could...but I shouldn’t
Barbie – I didn’t realize that Jake was needing chemo! How long will he have to take it? Good for you planning to be extra careful
Ginny love the cottage
Onion Rings vs fries – neither, but fries over onion rings if I have to have anything.
Lanette – I remember Consumer Reports did a study of all the different weight loss sites and they mentioned Lose It. I remember checking it out at the time but I thought that MFP’s database was the most extensive
pip – happy anniversary
Tracey – love the planner. “Afternoons with Gran” is a wonderful idea! You’d be fantastic
KJ – oh how scary that must have been to see that baby having a seizure! I remember seeing our cat have one and that scared me, so I can hardly imagine what you felt
I love when our kitties purr when I’m holding them. So calming!
No ceramics this past Mon or Tues or next Mon or tues. the gal who runs it is out of town. But she’ll be back the following week (thank goodness)

The first pic is of Barney and Fred.
The second one is chewy and Yoda
The last one is for you, Deb. This is what the door looks like. Like I said, I can't even unlock it from inside unless I'm standing on a stepstool, so I think the cats won't be able to jump over it for a long time (if ever)

Kylia, Debbie, and other cat owners- As cat owners, you all probably know how good they are for your heart, soul, and health. Have you seen the latest science/medical news on cats, though? Apparently, a cats purring emits healing vibrations. Interesting stuff! But I bet cat owners have known this for a long time!
News of the week. Last Tuesday we had a little "hiccup" here at my childcare. Late in the day (seriously minutes before his mama was due to pick him up), one of my babies had a seizure. He had been fine all day. Crawling around, babbling, playing, eating...all his normal stuff. He was playing at my feet as I was speaking to my son who had just arrived home from work. I looked down as I was talking to my son and little guy was on his side seizing. My son called 911 on his phone and called the baby's mama on my phone, as I tended to the baby. When the seizure stopped, I picked the baby up and his face and lips were blue/blue gray. He hadn't started breathing again. (people generally don't breathe during seizures! I didn't know that!) I gave him a good pats on the back and the breathing started again. Absolutely terrifying. I have seen adults have seizures; but have never seen a baby have one. Never again, thank you. Anyway, baby was fine. Checked out at the hospital, checked out with pediatrician the next day, and has an appointment at the local children's hospital just to be sure all is well. In the meantime, he came back into care after a couple of days home with mom, and has been fine. Whew! BUT WOW! My brain did not want to let me sleep for a few nights after that! I am sleeping this weekend, finally! lol That is all. Sleeping, cooking, cleaning. Nada mas.
I have been tracking my food each day and making good choices; so that is one good thing. I will weigh in tomorrow. That's all I have for right now. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
Kelly- that must have been so scary- Pray it never happens again.
As for the cat purring- that is my favorite sound. So soothing. I have a sound machine that you can upload your own sound, Yep, mine is cats purring. Only sound on there that works for me every time.
These kittens were even purring WHILE I was giving them another flea bath yesterday. Purred while I was scrubbing and drying.
They are cute but getting into everything!! They learned to climb/jump over the barrier I had to keep them in the living room- now they are exploring most of the house. A few rooms are closed off.

Just a quick pop in. No time for individual comments. I will catch up on reading posts in the morning.
The Red Arrows fly past of Belfast Lough was spectacular. They did a 30 minute aerial display, and flew over the boat several times.
Had family Skype after lunch today.

The picture was taken after their bath- all just snuggled up together. The other was late in the evening, past their bed time. I was sitting in the recliner and they all joined me.
They play hard for a long time then just find a spot and nap.
I have reduced down the size of the playpen and moved it against the wall so it isn't taking up the whole living room space. They need more room to play and seem to only be in the playpen at night or when I am not home.

Our former place has all kinds of hallway which I find annoying. Our new place has hardly any hallway. 😀

Thank you both! Funnily enough, that was exactly my objection to our prior plans, he wanted to keep that hallway, and I did not - but as soon as I mentioned possibly boxing it in as a closet, he jumped on it, so he's happy with it, because one less wall to tear out, and me, because hallway is gone. 😅 Whew! Great minds think alike... 😜😁5 -

Lisa - Rent a grandma! Who knew! I like the idea of a couple in my home, but Rodger does not. It would have to be a me travel situation.
Glad those towels are working for you. Sorry about the sting.
I love your new floor plan!
Ginny - I haven’t slept well for years now. I sure don’t understand how things that our body needs is so elusive.
Kelly - terrifying! I hope there is nothing serious and the little boy gets a clean bill of health.
My cousin had a scare like that, her 2 year old granddaughter passed out at their house. The next day she had posted that her and her husband had signed up for child first aid and CPR, a couple of days later her granddaughter was being rushed to a children’s hospital six hours away by air ambulance. She had a long tough battle with cancer in her brain, but just celebrated 7 years cancer free and is a beautiful 10 year old with no lingering effects.
Lanette - they would probably do it too! $10 US is $13.70 CAD
I hope your back is feeling better soon.
I need to get out for a walk tomorrow. I have been averaging about 3K a day in steps and I want to keep it up. I want to build up to my 10K a day.
Barbie - I meant to wish Joe well with his chemotherapy and that it is a smooth treatment option for both of you.
I had a fun day with Michaela, she made freezie sleeves for herself and her friends and then we delivered to two of them, they are sisters. She designed them herself.I came home, talked to my MIL while I made supper and then as if someone read my mind I received a text asking if I would keep Miss Aspen tomorrow night while Mom & Dad hope to see the Oiler’s win the cup at a watch party downtown. I’m keeping her for a sleepover.
I need to baby proof a bit tomorrow before she arrives. Maybe nap as well because she is not the best sleeper.
I’m hoping for a nice day so we can go to the splash park.
I’m off to bed.

Tracey - Great project with 'Micki'!
I'm sure you will be in great demand. I would be daunted by setting up a business, but, as a book keeper, you are much better placed for that than I would be. Around here, a wealthy area, those kind of situations are well paid. Overnight would be very popular. It could be a great holiday time addition to a paid position in a school.
I think setting a high enough fee and not doing 'favours' might be tricky. Drafting out some kind of leaflet and creating a website or Facebook page would be a start.
You have such terrific skills. Children's craft classes round here pay well. The girls often go to 'Art K' around the corner in the holidays. How it would work in a less affluent area, I'm not sure. But parents are desperate to have some free time and leave their kids with a life-enhancing person. When my kids were young , I occasionally left them overnight with my cleaner, Shirley. They got on well with her and she was lovely. Very lucky to have her.
Lots of food for thought.
Going to test again before I meet up with the girls. It's going to be hot today and I'm not sure we can find shade, so I will be covered up and wearing my huge Chinese folding hat.I want to see them, but I'm not feeling enthusiastic about going out. I'm out of practice, having been locked away for months. I'm nervous.
